00:00Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
00:04A fight's breaking out. Fight!
00:06This is all mine.
00:07Jesus is a little bit bitchy.
00:10Joan, that glitter paper and popsicle dicks.
00:13Are you serious?
00:15I'm really far behind.
00:16There's just one small thing.
00:19The Runway Show is happening in the workroom.
00:23This is the first ever in Project Runway history.
00:25What?
00:25This is creativity overload.
00:28Well, Yuchen, congratulations.
00:30You did a nice job.
00:30Now, what did not make the winning grade?
00:32Joseph, Miss Jones, Antonio.
00:35The decision of which designer is going to be out
00:38will be made by all of you.
00:40What?
00:41No twist!
00:42No.
00:43I love everybody, but we have to make the decisions.
00:45Miss Jones is the worst.
00:47I am not ready to go home.
00:49You have not seen what I can do as a designer.
00:52Joseph, that circle skirt's an insult.
00:55You look at Joseph McCray, you see Joseph McCray.
00:57Of course, I'm not going to take Antonio out.
00:59I'm not voting for Joseph.
01:01I'm just not.
01:02Splitting up the twins would be so gaggy.
01:04I think I know what to do.
01:07A stake for the winner is $200,000,
01:11a spread in Elle magazine,
01:13and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:16This is Project Runway.
01:18This is Project Runway.
01:18I don't mean...
01:19Wow, wow, wow.
01:28Okay, guys, let's vote.
01:30I feel bad for them.
01:32I'd rather be here than making that decision.
01:34I'm so shocked that we need to vote out
01:38the designer for this challenge.
01:40This is the Project Runway first.
01:42It's really hard because it feels like
01:44you're crushing someone's dreams,
01:47and there's blood in your hands.
01:50But it's Project Runway.
01:52One day you're in, and the next day you're out.
01:55All right, designers.
01:56Can you guys gather in your votes
01:57and bring them over to me?
02:04No, man.
02:08This is everybody.
02:09I'm a little nervous that these designers
02:11are going to vote me off
02:13just to separate my brother and I.
02:15We're powerful together,
02:16and they will send their biggest threat home.
02:18Joseph, Joan, Antonio.
02:21Two of you will be in,
02:23and one of you will be out.
02:24The first vote is for Joseph McRae.
02:31The second vote is for Miss Jo.
02:37I don't want to go home on a design
02:40that didn't speak to who I was as a designer.
02:43I hope the other designers
02:45keep me in the competition.
02:47The third vote is for Joseph McRae.
02:51Child, do not play.
02:55So that's two votes for Joseph,
02:57another one, and you'll be out, okay?
02:59Oh, my God.
03:01I guess this is when the true competition shows
03:03because do they feel like my look is the worst,
03:06or is it because I could be the most threat
03:09in this competition?
03:12The fourth vote is for Antonio.
03:16My brother might be going home right now,
03:20and I'm freaking out.
03:22The next vote is for...
03:25Joseph McRae.
03:30Daddy.
03:31What is going on?
03:33No.
03:36I'm so sorry, Joseph.
03:37So that means you're out.
03:39I don't know if the vote was strategic,
03:41but if it was a game that they wanted to play,
03:45I guess the game has been played, so.
03:48It was such a pleasure working with you.
03:50I think you're incredibly talented.
03:52I know who you are.
03:53Yeah.
03:53I can't wait to see more of your clothes.
03:55You will.
03:56I know.
03:57I'm really sad to have my best friend
04:00in the competition leave,
04:01and I wish that I had stood up
04:03a little bit more for Joseph.
04:04I don't know that I could have swayed four people.
04:07Bye, everyone.
04:08As much as I didn't want to go home,
04:15listen, don't worry about me,
04:17because, baby, I'm about to be famous.
04:20Still iconic, bitch.
04:22Don't forget.
04:23And that's a wrap.
04:24Later, love.
04:28Say goodbye to love.
04:30Bye, love.
04:31Thank you, guys.
04:32Thanks for saving me.
04:34How are you guys feeling?
04:36That was definitely a curveball,
04:37and I think we're just, like,
04:39all full of emotions.
04:42Mylon, you're very shaken up.
04:43I'm angry.
04:46Why?
04:47You have to make tough decisions
04:48in this business.
04:50Not like that, though.
04:51No?
04:51I don't think it has to be that personal.
04:53Mm-hmm.
04:54It's hard.
04:54Trust me.
04:55I've been there.
04:56I get it.
04:57But it's a competition,
04:58and only one of you wins.
05:00Yeah.
05:00Everyone's going home at some point.
05:03It's designed to survive.
05:06And we're going to go into your next challenge now.
05:12This competition is challenge, runway,
05:16one-day challenge, sewing, runway, club, challenge.
05:22No time.
05:23No sleep.
05:25Gaga would not be proud.
05:28Fashion takes inspiration from all kinds of things.
05:31Art, music, even the unconventional.
05:35So for your next challenge,
05:38you'll be creating a runway-worthy version
05:40of your unconventional materials look.
05:45Completely made out of fabric.
05:48Runway version.
05:50I know not to use denim.
05:53Wow.
05:55If I had the energy to scream,
05:57I'd probably be screaming quite a bit.
05:59I didn't love the look that I made.
06:01And it can't just be a story.
06:03Visual, meaningful, they have to connect.
06:06Because both looks are going to walk down the runway together.
06:09Wow.
06:10Oh, my God.
06:12Damn.
06:14Wow.
06:15Head home tonight to do some sketching,
06:17get some rest,
06:18and then I will meet you at Mood in the morning.
06:20Thank you, Chris.
06:21Good night.
06:21Thank you so much.
06:23Bye.
06:23Bye.
06:25For the next challenge,
06:26I'm really going to step my up
06:28because I want to prove to the judges
06:30that I am an amazing designer and stylist.
06:32I think the only complaint in my life is a roach.
06:35So we got to fix that.
06:36Let me get that cardio.
06:40Get it on.
06:41Never take a side.
06:43Get in the zone.
06:44Friction fans are amazing.
06:47Who would have thought that you can erase a fan?
06:49Guys, that was rough.
06:52Miss Joan, how do you feel?
06:53You're back for another week.
06:55Yeah, just need to process everything.
06:56Yeah, okay.
06:57Yeah.
06:57I'm going to put Joan on the runway.
07:00Oh, my God.
07:01This is a great opportunity to show your other side.
07:03As a tailor.
07:04I've been tailoring for over 20 years.
07:07This is what I do.
07:08I can tailor a suit.
07:10So this is my opportunity to bring it.
07:13Look, that's sick.
07:14I don't even sketch.
07:16Jesus, usually I would tell him what to sketch for me.
07:18I'm jealous of you guys for having brothers.
07:21Because if I have my brother here.
07:22I think it's an advantage.
07:24No, it's a huge advantage.
07:25It's a huge advantage.
07:26Because they're going to, no matter what, help one another.
07:29The last challenge was the first individual challenge.
07:32But the twins are still working together.
07:36If that is what it takes to win for y'all, awesome.
07:39But I'm able to beat it up without having family in the room.
07:43Although I have a question.
07:44Do you think both of you can do one challenge
07:47where you're completely separate?
07:50Because you're used to be like working each other.
07:52So maybe for this challenge, like just challenge yourself.
07:55Let's not help each other.
07:57And let's see what's going to happen.
07:58I think that BJ's smart.
08:00She knows how to play the game.
08:03What's going to be the outcome?
08:05Are you up for the challenge?
08:07As an individual designer, I know I can do it.
08:10I know I'm talented.
08:11I know I'm good.
08:12Let's shut this bitch up.
08:13Let's prove to them this challenge.
08:15I'm excited if they can actually do it.
08:19We will see.
08:20Done.
08:21So that's completely solo challenge.
08:24BJ, over my dead body that you think you're going to separate Antonio and I.
08:29So now it's on.
08:31All right.
08:41Remember this challenge, runway worthy version to kind of complement your unconventional
08:46look.
08:4730 minutes, $350.
08:49Okay, go.
08:50Here we go.
08:50Right now.
08:51Ah!
08:56Just take a half yard off and then I can get that.
09:00Keep working.
09:01You just started.
09:01Put that backpack down and dig through these rolls.
09:04All right.
09:04Oh, we need pins, bitch.
09:06The two boxes.
09:07Of course.
09:08The twins are shopping together.
09:10I am so shocked.
09:14I have to hoppy do it.
09:15Going gray again.
09:16Mm-hmm.
09:17Boring.
09:18I'm capable of a lot more than when I put down the runway in the last challenge.
09:22However, to turn something that I hated into something that I like is going to take some
09:29real work.
09:30You don't want anything iridescent-y?
09:32I think that that's pretty iridescent and I'm going to do stuff to it.
09:36My confidant, my best friend here, Joseph McRae, has left, so I'm definitely feeling
09:41that loss.
09:42And I need a solid amount of time to sit with what happened, but I don't have time to do
09:48that.
09:54Child, this looks like rotten in here.
09:56Oh, it's Miss Jones' dress.
09:57I don't want to see that.
10:00Last challenge, I was so far in the bottom that they had to dig me out the dirt.
10:05It looks like dead vegetation.
10:08Just throw her in a compost.
10:10I have to take inspiration from it.
10:13I'm going to try and redeem myself.
10:15So I'm going to have to show Laura who I am as a designer.
10:18Leave it all on the runway.
10:20I really don't want to look at this all day.
10:23Shove the edge in the corner.
10:25No one puts baby in a corner.
10:28However, I need her gone.
10:31One, two, three, four.
10:33Hello.
10:34Hello.
10:34Oh, is that the crotch?
10:40It's a banana hammock.
10:41Oh.
10:43Wow.
10:44I want to create a cocoon outer shell gown that reveals into like a J-Lo butterfly sexy moment.
10:52Oh my God, but you have so much to make.
10:55Just two pieces.
10:56Okay.
10:56You can't have her whole butt out though like that.
10:59I want about this much crap.
11:01How are they going to connect visually in some way?
11:05I think because these are triangular, they're going to be covering the whole thing.
11:09Am I hurting your ears?
11:12Yes.
11:13All right, I'll stop.
11:14You can wait.
11:15I didn't love the look that I made last week.
11:17That's not me.
11:18So I'm making these hard kind of sharp edges into something more soft.
11:24She's going to be feathery.
11:25She's going to be bird-like.
11:27She's going to be awesome.
11:28What's happening over here?
11:29I want to keep that same silhouette where it's see-through and sexy.
11:33So I want to do a cigarette pant with a corset.
11:36Your corset top needs to be incredible.
11:38It's going to fit well.
11:39Make sure.
11:40I'm trying it right now.
11:41I'm pretty fast.
11:41Okay.
11:42Last challenge, I almost got voted off, but I'm here for another week and I'm going to
11:46set myself apart from the other designers and my brother.
11:49I want to stand out.
11:50I already do because I'm gorgeous.
11:54Perfection.
11:55Okay, I can figure this out.
11:57The look was very raw.
11:59But you're doing like an evening gown.
12:02So it's like, how do you make that feel like edgy?
12:05I wanted to utilize the red instead of doing a front lapel to incorporate a back lapel.
12:10I mean, you have to have the red in some way to visually connect.
12:14So it's a gown, right?
12:16This is very streetwear, very I'm going to a bashment party, you know?
12:20And this is very I'm stepping on the runway.
12:23I've never made a dress specifically like this before, but I want to showcase my skills.
12:29As far as gown-making goes for a curvier woman.
12:33It's a flag dress.
12:35When I think of soccer, I think of World Cup.
12:37All these countries, it's exciting.
12:40My idea is to make this black and white soccer ball bomber jacket with this big flag dress
12:46that celebrates the energy of a soccer stadium.
12:49Edit the colors like you edited those colors.
12:51Remember, visually connected.
12:54Wow, that looks pretty.
12:56For this one, I want the boning to be outside.
12:59Yeah.
13:00I really want to make another structure using the boning.
13:05It's a very meticulous process because boning is something that you need to hand sew.
13:10But I haven't worn yet, and I want the judges to see my impeccable craftsmanship in all the
13:16things that I do.
13:17This is my power, my hands.
13:19Wow, this is a beautifully cut suit.
13:22Yeah.
13:22Clearly, you can make clothes.
13:24So I get that you want to do this beautiful, amazing suit, but I think the connection will
13:29still be important, you know?
13:30And that's why I'm trying to still keep the connectivity with the corset tree.
13:34I was even thinking of taking the popsicle sticks.
13:38If you do that, I quit right now.
13:42Child!
13:45I just want them to see something here that they didn't see there.
13:49You know, Law really didn't like this dress.
13:51You got to prove them wrong.
13:52Okay.
13:53Law, have mercy.
13:55Everyone is a little worried about me, you know, but I got this.
13:59I'm a fighter.
13:59I've been through the hardest fight of my life.
14:04Back in 2020, I made it onto the cast of Project Runway for the first time.
14:11But I also found out that I had breast cancer, and I needed to start treatment immediately.
14:18My biggest fear is during that time is, am I going to be strong enough to fight and beat
14:24this thing?
14:25But let me tell you, I rang that bell, and Mama Joan is four years cancer-free.
14:34This is more than just a competition for me.
14:37This is a full circle moment.
14:40To win Project Runway would be such a validation.
14:45I want to show that I can be an inspiration to so many women out there that there is life
14:51after, you know, being diagnosed.
14:54I'm like a walking zombie right now.
15:06I think the one-day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because, like, there
15:20is no time to rest.
15:21Like, I'm not even, like, to be honest, like, even, like, inspired to do this.
15:33Seeing my brother going through all the emotions, that's not usually his persona.
15:38He's usually stronger than I am.
15:42I'm really concerned because I want him to still be in the competition.
15:45I'm really sorry that Jesus is struggling, but so am I.
16:04Like, I wish I have my best friend here so that I have someone that I can lean on to.
16:08But, you know, I have to do it on my own.
16:10Someone needs to take that sense of comfort from them so that they can realize that this
16:16is a competition.
16:17I see everybody keeping an eye on us.
16:20All them bitches want to separate us.
16:21He's my twin brother.
16:22So if you with my brother, then you're going to have two enemies.
16:25You get a model.
16:30You get a model.
16:32Baby.
16:34Let's do it.
16:35I made it a little bit big.
16:37Is it asymmetrical, this top?
16:39Yeah.
16:39Well, it looks kind of a little bit like a mistake because it's, like, not enough.
16:43I think you still have to figure out this understructure.
16:45For me, I don't, I just don't look like anything.
16:49You all right?
16:50You're just so tired.
16:52You're beat down.
16:53You're done.
16:54It's a lot.
16:55It's a lot.
16:56Suck it up.
16:57You've already been here before.
16:58Don't worry.
16:59You're fine.
17:00It looks fabulous.
17:01Get it together.
17:01Yeah.
17:02It's going to be cool.
17:04I like it with just one side.
17:06It's kind of fab.
17:07I'm really grateful to have Christian.
17:09I think he sees a vision.
17:10I think he likes my work.
17:12And that just really, truly gives me strength.
17:15I'm ready to show the judges exactly what I am made of.
17:18That red stripe on Jesus' gown is looking pretty familiar.
17:27What the f***?
17:28Here we go.
17:29I've been working primarily on the outer part.
17:32So I have a lot of finessing to do.
17:35Are you realizing that this doesn't work?
17:37It needs a lot of zhuzhing.
17:38So what are you going to do?
17:40Okay.
17:40Let's try on the other dress.
17:42The dress underneath is not good.
17:44Do you think I should scrap the whole reveal?
17:46I think you have to scrap one of them.
17:48Yes.
17:48That's what I'm saying.
17:49Then you still have one look.
17:51You got to try something.
17:53I think the shoulders could still be more.
17:55Yeah.
17:55This is the only one that I love.
17:56But I think I can elaborate it more.
17:59Hand sewing is a major component to execute that design.
18:03And I don't have a lot of time left.
18:06But I've applied to be in the show since 2012.
18:10I've waited for 13 years.
18:11And now that I'm here, I'm not going to waste any opportunity to show the judges what I can do.
18:19You just dislike it.
18:21This looks really messy.
18:23The frayed edges on this looks very amateur.
18:27Okay.
18:28I really don't want this amateur tag to be put on me.
18:32That's a fear of mine because I taught myself for the most part.
18:36So my construction skills are sometimes behind other people.
18:40I've got to figure it out.
18:42Maybe the organza looks a little more refined and beautiful and soft.
18:47And maybe it's that all over in diamond shape.
18:50Yeah, that's helpful.
18:51I'm going for soft, feathery, maybe like a snowy egret.
18:55But I'm seeing a dirty, dirty little pigeon.
18:59That's it, designers.
19:01I'm in trouble.
19:02Say goodbye to your models.
19:04Oh, God.
19:08Woo!
19:08Oh, I haven't had to pivot this hard at all this competition.
19:14Two dresses is too much.
19:16So the J.Lo dress is dead.
19:19I'm going to take this cocoon and make an extensive alteration.
19:24Okay, guys, one hour.
19:26I want my brother here to help me.
19:33They're both really talented.
19:35So, am I jealous?
19:36Yes.
19:37And, like, I want that.
19:39I have to redo my sleeves because they're ugly.
19:44I have to make the entire skirt.
19:46I'm feeling like this is deeply, deeply undoable.
19:49I have to go.
19:54Good morning, designers.
19:56We have a show to do.
19:57Fashion superheroes, here we come.
19:59They beat.
20:00Be aggressive.
20:01Be aggressive.
20:02Be aggressive.
20:03Be aggressive.
20:04Be aggressive.
20:05Be aggressive.
20:06Be aggressive.
20:07Be aggressive.
20:08Hey!
20:09Woo!
20:10That's cold.
20:11Nips out.
20:12Hello.
20:13Hello.
20:14Hi.
20:15Oh, God.
20:16Sorry, didn't mean to scare you.
20:17Yes.
20:18Emily's called in sick.
20:19So, what we are thinking of doing is if we can move Sine over to this look and we'll
20:25use the alt model for your episode four looks.
20:27Ooh.
20:28She's a lot smaller.
20:30Oh, dear God.
20:32Oh, my brain is frying.
20:35I made my dress to fit my size 20 model like a glove.
20:40What are you saying to me right now?
20:42I have three hours to make this size 20 into size 14?
20:4712?
20:48I don't even know where to start right now.
20:49Model!
20:50Model!
20:51Model!
20:52Size boobies showing.
20:53Yes.
20:54We're going to cover the boobies.
20:55I had to find another way to use the black sheer.
20:59So, I think having a little bit of sexy side boob moment in the scarf will be a little
21:03nod to the original piece.
21:05How are you guys doing?
21:07Good.
21:08Good doing.
21:09Lania, how's it going?
21:10My hand stopped shaking.
21:12I can sew.
21:13You can do it.
21:14I don't know.
21:15Beautiful?
21:16I'm gorgeous.
21:17Thank you for that advice.
21:19What would I do without you in my life?
21:21You're starting to make me have a crush on you.
21:23Everybody has a crush on me.
21:24Hello.
21:25What is that little thong?
21:27What in the world?
21:28Marina, I made you a floss.
21:31I am a Latina hooker, a sexy hooshie mama.
21:34Not everyone can make a thong.
21:35I know it's just a little strange, but you got to get the right measurements because you
21:39don't want to see a camel toe with the floss.
21:42I don't know what that is.
21:44Joan cannot handle the thongs in the room.
21:47To me, a thong is not a fashion moment.
21:50Okay?
21:51That is underwear.
21:53VJ fitness designers are trying to separate Antonio and I.
21:58Well, maybe you two do need to separate.
22:00You're working on his garment right now.
22:02I'm going to separate you two.
22:04And then we'll see who wins.
22:05Bitch.
22:06Mm-mm.
22:07Ciao.
22:08Ha, ha, ha.
22:09See?
22:10Even Christian noticed it.
22:12Ha, ha, ha.
22:13What did he say?
22:14He's in the paradise.
22:15He's a little jealous.
22:16Oh, my God.
22:17All right, designers.
22:19We're sending your models to the Ulta Beauty salon.
22:21The divas.
22:22I need to see what's going on in Glam.
22:25Okay, so let me see.
22:26Don't get crazy.
22:27Okay.
22:28Don't get crazy.
22:29I'm not.
22:30How are you feeling about it so far?
22:31You're the best, so I trust you.
22:32Oh, my God, no, please.
22:33We do this every day.
22:34You know what?
22:35Every Ulta Beauty has a salon that you can walk into
22:36and have a consultation with a hairstylist or makeup artist
22:38to make your vision come to life.
22:39We do the same day out, so don't even worry.
22:41We're going to make it happen for you.
22:42Perfect.
22:43I love Ulta Beauty.
22:44You guys are the best.
22:48Oh, my God.
22:49It's done?
22:50No, it's not done yet.
22:51My hands are really, really tired.
22:54I will add more here.
22:56Are you?
22:57Yeah.
22:58I'm scared if I can really finish it on time.
23:00Yeah, you have like an hour.
23:01Mia, can you come here?
23:03God damn it.
23:05Are you finished?
23:06Yeah.
23:07Do you need help someone?
23:08Um, just stock this one.
23:09Okay.
23:10After that, I'm finished.
23:11Thank you so much.
23:13BJ, really?
23:14She gives me and my brother such a hard time
23:16because we help each other, but when she needs help, it's fine.
23:21Miss Madeline, how's your skirt?
23:23My goal was to get it done by the time the models got here.
23:25I am really far behind.
23:27Why don't you shuffle it around?
23:28No.
23:29There's never enough time.
23:31At this point, like, I know I'm gonna hate this look.
23:34What the hell?
23:35But I just need it to be closed.
23:38All right, we're walking in 30 seconds, you guys.
23:45Yay.
23:46Hello, designers.
23:47Welcome to the runway.
23:49As I say in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
23:54For this challenge, you were asked to create a look inspired by your unconventional materials design,
23:59but make completely out of fabric.
24:01The connection between the two must be visual and meaningful.
24:04All right, let's meet the judges.
24:06CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Laura Roach.
24:10Editor of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
24:15And our guest judge for today, fashion designer and business titan, Jenna Lyons.
24:23Jenna Lyons.
24:24Woo!
24:25That's Jenna.
24:27All right, let's start the show.
24:36My looks looks very cohesive together.
24:38The bomber jacket looks so sexy, so hot, so modern, and the dress is cool.
24:45It's just so amazing.
24:47I feel so good.
24:48Super creative, like a superhero.
24:51But this is still unconventional to me.
25:00I'm so nervous, but at the same time, I'm very, very excited and proud of myself.
25:06It's a representation of who I am as a designer.
25:09You can tell immediately that these two looks are labor of love.
25:16It's like there's an actual inspiration.
25:21I'm not proud of what I put down today.
25:30It's not my best work, and I'm feeling like I don't want to watch this runway.
25:36I feel good.
25:37It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy.
25:38It looks presentable.
25:39How did you get it to fit her that well?
25:40You see my fingers bleeding.
25:41The construction isn't bad.
25:42The dress is just ugly.
25:43Turn it up, turn it up now.
25:45Turn it up, turn it up now.
25:46Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up now.
25:47Turn it up, turn it up now.
25:48Ten is not enough.
25:49Take it to 11.
25:50This is exactly what my vision was.
25:52She is working it.
25:53She's feeling herself.
25:54She feels glamorous.
25:55She feels like a fashion icon.
25:56She feels like a rock star.
25:57Wow.
25:58Yeah, it's interesting.
26:00I'm so excited because I think I nailed the challenge.
26:05They both look cohesive.
26:06I don't think my unconventional guardian is going to match the shape of the person.
26:09If you have a new, you're going to match the shape of the pattern.
26:12One of the things that go into the shape of the pattern.
26:13This is exactly what my vision was.
26:16One of the things that I'm seeing is kind of an infectious heart attack.
26:18I'm not showing you how that go.
26:21This is exactly what my vision was.
26:22She is working it.
26:24She's feeling herself.
26:25She feels like a passion icon.
26:26conventional garment was that bad,
26:29but definitely this is an elevated version of that.
26:33The previous critique lit a fire under my tail
26:37for me to show them what I got.
26:39And it's not enough.
26:42Wow.
26:47Pearl.
26:48Anastasia is making this a moment.
26:51The fashion fabric being so close to the original
26:55is cohesion.
26:56So I did my job.
26:59I'm proud of my little butterflies
27:00and they're flying so, so high.
27:09Wow, I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
27:12It's so sexy.
27:13The magic word again is cohesion.
27:16She looks so good in that.
27:19I can taste the wind on the tip of my tongue
27:22that I've been waiting for.
27:26Hello.
27:28There were some really good looks you turned out.
27:35Obviously, we're judging you by your second look,
27:38not your unconventional materials look.
27:40We've scored your designs.
27:42Let's find out the results.
27:43Let's find out the results.
27:45Eugene, Joan, the two of you are safe.
27:53Joan, I know I was extremely critical on you
27:56about your unconventional look,
27:58but you redeemed yourself.
28:01Ethan, BJ, Jesus, you had our favorite looks
28:08on the runway today.
28:09Congratulations.
28:11Unfortunately, that means Antonio, Madeline, and Bolania.
28:18You had our least favorite looks today.
28:21You guys can leave with the safe designers.
28:26I'm not surprised, but I'm praying, wishing,
28:30manifesting that I don't go home.
28:36Yeah.
28:37Guess who's back.
28:39I know, right?
28:40Back again.
28:41Let's bring out your models.
28:42Good God.
28:43All right, Jesus, let's start with you.
28:47OK.
28:48I loved your look.
28:49Thank you so much.
28:50It's stunning.
28:51I mean, how you made this, too, that you can sew
28:53like this impeccably is like crazy, you know?
28:55Yeah.
28:56It is so chic.
28:58I love the exaggerated hips and that red strip down the back.
29:02As a stylist, I'm thinking, what does it look 360?
29:05You know, when they call it to the stylist,
29:07over the shoulder.
29:07This dress could be on any runway in Paris.
29:12Yeah.
29:12This is really, really, really, really well done.
29:15I'm always thinking of what Law like in my life.
29:17Law likes it, so you did a good job.
29:19So much.
29:20The dress is beautiful.
29:21The shape is beautiful.
29:23But when I saw the red stripe, I was convinced
29:28this was Ethan's look.
29:30I thought so, too.
29:31Ethan did that same stripe on the sportswear look.
29:36I mean, called plagiarism in my book.
29:38Yeah, it's a little.
29:40It's a little bit.
29:40Plagiarism.
29:41It's a little bit.
29:41I'm just saying.
29:42Yeah.
29:44Oh, my God.
29:49Ethan did that same stripe.
29:53Wow, Nina.
29:54Just because there's a red stripe and Ethan did that
29:57for a feature, like, to me, like, I saw no resemblance.
30:00Like, I feel like I did it in a different way.
30:02And, like, I didn't even think of that.
30:04I think they inspire each other a lot.
30:05I am old for inspiration, but why this particular fabric?
30:11I mean, that was never my intention.
30:12That didn't even cross my mind.
30:14I picked the red just to reference from the mini dress.
30:17Thank you, Julian.
30:32maybe let me keep it i don't have any history here so i'm all for the red stripe i loved it
30:36the shape of the duchess satin and the way it wraps around her beautifully done thank you jesus
30:41thank you bj if you see what you can make out of a shuttlecock is quite amazing i every time she
30:49says shuttlecock i was watching that okay everyone says shuttlecock shuttlecock shuttlecock i love
30:56string we'll never forget that we'll never forget it now the fabric that you chose it's the same
31:02feeling of what the shuttlecock is giving us and also what you gave here like you always want to
31:07have a lot of interest you know around your cleavage and everything and it's giving all of that it's
31:12fragile but strong unexpected really marvelous the transparency the tailoring everything was really
31:23smart yeah i mean it's the most perfect side boob i've ever seen jumpsuits are hard to fit it's just
31:29i think it's spot on thank you so much ethan you're next what did you stuff into the hips what did you
31:35put in there it's batting ethan is the drag queen so he knows how to pad a hip oh right so that he
31:42brought that in his little toolbox you know um i think the dress is spectacular i have to say i'm kind
31:48of obsessed with it i think the tailoring is great i think you worked that dress like nobody's business
31:53and the way that the shapes looked behind the screen when she came out it was just
31:58fantastical and really stunning and i'm captivated by it can i see her without the
32:04i mean this is all you need you didn't need the reveal that's it can we just talk about the boobs
32:12when you see them on the side i love those little cups that are poking out and giving that fabric is so
32:18cute that little detail is so powerful that's your reveal right there you've got to understand to
32:25edit all right ethan bj jesus it's time to name the winner
32:31congratulations bj oh my god thank you great job you created our favorite look congrats how does it
32:43feel to be here and to i'm speechless i'm just happy i cry when i'm happy yeah this is tears of joy thank
32:52you you earned it you absolutely earned it really beautiful yeah winning this challenge makes me feel
32:59a reward for all the things that i've done to create those two looks and i'm just really thankful that
33:05the judges appreciate my work we have a winner winning this gives me the assurance that if i work
33:20hard and be innovative then i can win this whole thing okay let's bring out the bottom locks
33:25antonio madeline belania unfortunately you were all these favorites today let's bring out your models
33:40oh my god all right belania i'm just so confused by what you've done i look at you and i see a young
33:50including fashion forward modern young woman and then i see what you created today and to me this
33:57looks like a real old-fashioned look you are supposed to create for tomorrow the fabric looks
34:06cheap jersey fabric or something else in another color this might be acceptable and might be okay
34:12but with these colors and this fabric is not winning anything around here though i've seen this dress
34:18a corset with the ruffle autumn and it's not my favorite they're not twins but they are sisters
34:25tacky and jackie and do you think this is a good dress no but today my model called out sick so i had
34:32to take in my dress by at least eight inches that's not an excuse also the model and you had to take it
34:40in that's the strong part that's what you did well i don't love the really chunky straps i know that the
34:45person who you had originally put it on might be she was a size 20. i couldn't put certain styles
34:50on my model so i said okay i will make a beautiful silhouette kind of dress had you presented that as
34:56a bathing suit and a sarong cover-up i think it would have made more sense like putting her in
35:01shorts or pants or even a bathing suit you guys probably would have gave me the same comment
35:06what i don't understand is the body language and attitude yeah what is the attitude let's let's talk
35:11let's let's back up and let's start there so you want to say something about your lips you're trying
35:16to not here's your chance i'm just taking back because it's a lot that happens before you guys see
35:22it but a lot happens before we see it every runway what are these feelings because you're coming off
35:29really really rude okay okay he wants to fight
35:33you're coming off really really rude and like dismissive i'm trying to control my emotions because
35:45i was trying to make my model feel comfortable and beautiful and this is this model or the one
35:51that got sick the one that got sick okay i also think like you as a designer have to stay true to
35:56yourself i don't really see you here i think you should always stay true to yourself and what you think
36:01you would really want to create i think that's really important all right madeline i don't see
36:07the cohesion here you have space girl in silver shiny flashy and then you go to a somber sad girl
36:14right next to her it's like a whole different vibe i'm feeling from this i actually like the way that
36:20you mimic the hard edges from your unconventional look just because you put some triangles onto the top
36:27doesn't make it cohesive for me i really don't like the length of the skirt the bottom of the
36:33skirt looks like a napkin like it's not enough strength when you are presenting a runway it's about
36:40the complete polish look i think you're you're demure in your approach to your shapes like the skirt and
36:46the proportion of the top are almost the same can you raise the top like yeah like if it was tiny and
36:52the sleeve was tiny and it was a little bit of a crop top i just think like you could have gone
36:57bigger and pushed that skirt and pushed that shape it feels like you're holding back fair enough
37:01antonio i actually was probably the only one that gave this a high score
37:08i am they all hated it that's very true they look like modern girls of today i love that it's sheer i love
37:18that you see her g-string through it i love her wet hair it's very now we can talk about the top
37:25obviously there's some fit issues here but the top is what it's about i have a belt like that it's
37:31terrible i don't know if it was intentionally asymmetrical but it wasn't asymmetrical enough
37:35so i couldn't tell if it was just twisted it should have it could have been it's not
37:41i mean just the wedge i can't go i can't it's problematic i'm not mad at it i'm not mad at the
37:47pants i don't think the pants are bad i'm just saying when i see a wedge my husband always loves
37:51a wedge when when i have jeans on that are like so tight that it's like he thinks that's hot it's
37:57like a really good stripper costume doll there is no reason you walk this girl out of here with these
38:06incredible glaring errors i don't know i don't know how you made it this far in terms of construction
38:13there's a lot of problems here i'm pissed she got the nerve to say why i'm still in the competition
38:21i feel attacked well you got the judges really torn that was very polarizing which is great that's
38:28what fashion is about madeline antonio bolania we have a lot to talk about you can leave the runway
38:36thank you so much yeah what did you hear they haven't made the decision yet right
38:44heidi loved my love nina hated it she's like i don't know how you made it this far i'm like whoa
38:51so madeline to me she's making sad clothes you know what it is it feels sad and poor i don't see
38:59the cohesion like the first one when it came out i was like okay it had some pop and like some yeah
39:05fancy like sparkle to it you also could feel that the model was loving that too it felt like somebody
39:09took the air out of it like i'm not proud of what i put down today i don't think it's representative
39:16of me as a designer i don't want to be putting things out there that are confused and sad girl
39:24i like antonio i feel like there's stuff in there lena hate it i've never saw her hate something so
39:30much and look i wrote like i wrote like my favorite guys antonio is a little bit of smoke and mirrors
39:39but he was the least offensive of the three i don't know if antonio can really deliver
39:46i feel like my design wasn't the worst based on the challenge when you put your heart and soul
39:51and you work for over 14 hours i don't feel like the judges are understanding and it's getting to me
40:00what do you guys think about balania i was so sad to find out that that was her look she has this
40:05great personal style you write that personal style you know she's very memorable i think balania got
40:12thrown off trying to make someone else happy as opposed to doing her own thing and it feels like
40:16that kind of tripped her up maybe i get a sense of personality from balania i think there's spark in
40:21there she did have to like cinch that in a lot balania no that's what designers do i know but like
40:28last minute that's what designers do it was carmen miranda without fruit on her head it is a literal
40:34prom dress yeah 80s prom dress bad yes ah balania why did you do this i feel misunderstood because i tried to
40:43make something that i thought the judges wanted to see but that was an epic fail so if i stay in this
40:50competition i am not listening to what anybody else has to say i'm going to listen to myself it's a toss
40:58so who's the worst it's a toss
41:07hi hi next time on project runway for your next individual challenge we're going
41:14street this is literally your challenge like what are you doing if i don't do this right
41:18i will eat them come on let's put it on the menu things are not working out as well as i thought they
41:25would get it together don't forget bj's is silent killer everyone i've just focused on my work the
41:32quiet ones turn around and stab you in the back jesus he is really threatened by me and i'm like he
41:40should be i want to applaud you for not doing something safe picture that girl walking down the
41:46street like stunt on hoes you're not showing us anything new it's too obvious this is so far off from
41:52streetwear
