00:00Previously, on The Last Wolfsman.
00:15They say the darkest is always before the dawn.
00:18It's been an uphill battle.
00:20It's not good.
00:23But Jared finally gets the forever claim fully online.
00:27Awesome, man.
00:28And with the first barge royalty due in two days,
00:31and the float camp lease almost up,
00:35the clock is ticking to log full tilt
00:38or face the fallout of failure.
00:41If you have to fall, I repossess the float camp.
00:44I have to give John $100,000 royalty.
00:48If I don't get this done, John could topple my whole company.
00:58If I had to define my season so far, it's a raging inferno.
01:06Got a call early this morning.
01:09We just lost a loader due to fire last night.
01:12The loader was pretty much referred to a crisp, so that's a hard pill to swallow right now.
01:19We need maximum production.
01:22This is definitely frustrating, especially with fire shift right around the corner.
01:28In the summer heat of the Pacific Northwest Timberlands,
01:32Jared Douglas and the crew of Cypress Creek Logging are all in on two operations.
01:37I'm really nervous right now, even with all this other stuff.
01:44I still need to give John $100,000 per barge load of wood from the forever claim.
01:50So far, launching forever claim operations proved more challenging than planned.
01:57So he'll need to make up time on the mountain to deliver a loaded barge in 48 hours as promised.
02:04To stay on track to his ultimate target of a $2 million buyout by winter,
02:10he'll need to hit $1 million in profit by fire season,
02:14which brings the end of summer logging
02:16and makes yet another equipment fire a setback he can't afford.
02:22I'm really nervous right now.
02:25Any time loss cuts into my business.
02:27It's frustrating that I can't be up there with the crew,
02:30pulling rope, helping everybody out, doing what I do,
02:34but right now we're going to try to get this loader safely off this hill
02:37and get it to the scrapyard where I can salvage a little bit of money for this thing.
02:43Well, she got hot.
02:48Yes, it did.
02:51That Roman candle.
02:53Not good.
02:53A little bent, warped, and hot looking.
02:57They're a pretty bulletproof machine.
02:58They're a great log loader,
02:59but they have an Achilles heel with the electrical,
03:02and they're known for roasting themselves.
03:05Just painted it.
03:06Just put it through the shop.
03:07Totally rebuilt it.
03:09That's a big loss.
03:10Ah.
03:11This one's beyond fixing, that's for sure.
03:16Just in the machine alone, I figure I'm out about $150,000,
03:20let alone the loss in production.
03:25The hope is it contains at least $40,000 in scrap steel and parts.
03:29If they can get it off the mountain.
03:35A low bed cannot haul this type of weight off of this steep of a grade,
03:41so we're going to try to take pieces off of it to make it a little bit lighter,
03:45but nonetheless, we're going to have 50 tons that we have to take down this mountain
03:49with a couple machines with tires.
03:52Let's get her done.
03:53Roger.
03:53All righty.
03:59We just got to try to work to get the boom off now.
04:03Nice and gentle.
04:05The boom is very valuable, probably $20,000, $25,000,
04:09but during the salvage process, we could totally wreck some of that,
04:14and that's definitely something I don't want to do.
04:23Easy there, velvet pedals.
04:24Easy there, velvet pedals.
04:54But I didn't really account for.
04:58There goes a bit of money, but nobody's got hurt.
05:02Everybody's got their toes and their fingers.
05:07Now it's for the daunting task trying to pack this giant arm down the mountain.
05:1480 miles due northwest.
05:19Three tables in the upright and locked position.
05:21Okay, well, just for what I'm seeing here, there's going to be a bit of wind going in there.
05:29Southeast wind coming in over the hill.
05:30Just as the wind comes down, down the hill on that side,
05:34it's like tumbles over top of the ridge,
05:37and the turbulence can get really bad in there.
05:39So we'll just have to see how it goes when we get close.
05:42I don't like a bit of detail now.
05:43Foreman Brad Laviolette is on a mission to the forever claim.
05:49Tasked to boost production by all means necessary.
05:54This is a howling southeastern to get you.
05:56Even the ocean's looking kind of angry today.
05:58It's getting rough out there.
06:00Things are going pretty slowly.
06:02We've analyzed our production numbers being low.
06:04I feel the pressure from boss man Jared,
06:07and I've got to jump on board here and just make this issue go away.
06:12To deliver on the first forever claim royalty,
06:15the 400-foot log barge known as the Hercules must be fully loaded.
06:22In my new post, obviously, it comes with a big amount of responsibility,
06:27and you're caught between the owner and the crew,
06:29so I'm not sure what I'm going into.
06:32I'm sure it's going to be a challenge,
06:33but I think that I'm a pretty good fit for this job,
06:36and I can't wait to show Jared and the crew just exactly what I'm made of.
06:42I feel that logging is in my blood,
06:45and I've got five generations of loggers behind me in my family.
06:49You know, the last 100 years on this coast,
06:51my family has been being stewards of the forest,
06:53making sure that the next stand is there for the next generation.
06:57I'm just, you know, doing my best to try and fit in
06:59with that class of worker that, you know,
07:02your family can be proud of you for bringing in a paycheck
07:05after a hard day's worth of work.
07:10All right, Cam, it's just around the corner here.
07:12It's just over top of that hill there.
07:15All right, we're setting up for land here.
07:20Whoa!
07:20Whoa!
07:24Looking pretty, uh, looking pretty dodgy in there right now.
07:28Oh, yeah.
07:38We're going to f***ing dive at it.
07:40Sure?
07:40Yeah.
07:42Here we go.
07:45Oh, man.
07:49F***!
07:50Way too rough for that.
07:52Oh.
07:53F***!
07:56I'm bored.
07:57I'm bored.
07:57All right, we're in the overshoot.
08:06What's your plan B?
08:15Down below...
08:17Oh, we better get after it.
08:19Fallers Chris Hersigs and Brendan Bowman
08:21pick up the pace in their hunt for timber giants.
08:24Come on, let's see what we got here.
08:27Yeah, that's a good one.
08:29No, she's, uh, got a little bit of girth to it.
08:33Got a hell of a f***ing lean.
08:36Yeah.
08:37There's actually a bit of a crack starting to form,
08:39about 30 feet up.
08:41The bark's starting to peel off her already.
08:44That's the tree's actually already starting to fail there.
08:46So, uh, it's actually starting to separate itself.
08:49It's got a little bit of a twist to it.
08:51That'll be a key issue with, uh, having it go before I want it to.
08:55There's a bunch of dead limbs up there, obviously.
08:58There's signatures of, uh, potential, like, hazard.
09:01A little bit of wind there, too.
09:03The wind's starting to pick up.
09:05Safety-wise, it's concerning, just because, uh, there is some hazards for myself just being underneath it.
09:10You cut off one piece, um, it could go anywhere.
09:13And, uh, cause harm to anybody that's working near it or around it.
09:18Another thing to keep in the back of the mind when cut.
09:20Agreed.
09:21In a situation like this, there's a lot of pressure.
09:24You've got to be on your game.
09:26It's going to be a little bit crazy, I think.
09:28You can only do it so many times.
09:31It's inevitable at some point.
09:32If you don't die, you're going to get beat up.
09:34Something appears.
09:36It's still, you still get a rush out of it.
09:38I love it.
09:38I've always loved it.
09:40It's, uh, freedom.
09:43And it's good money.
09:51To direct this fall in the wind,
09:55Brendan will start with a deep face cut,
09:59which should send it into a nearby clearing.
10:02But any sudden gusts could not only send 50-pound branches raining down on Brendan,
10:09but topple the entire tree early, right back on him.
10:14I'm kind of thinking I ain't going to get much of an undercut out of it,
10:18and it's going to want to go.
10:19It's going to want to go quick.
10:22So we'll see what the undercut's like,
10:23and then maybe just keep an eye on this back cut, dude.
10:26Yeah, you bet.
10:28I'll just kind of park myself back in here so I can see what's going on.
10:31I'll tell you to get the hell out of there if you need to get the hell out of there.
10:35Right on.
10:36Whoop, whoop.
10:37Game on.
10:38Oh, f***.
11:01Uh-oh.
11:04Yeah, it's moving with this wind a bit.
11:08That's no good.
11:18Taking gravity right down the mountain, and we should be good.
11:21All right, bring a head.
11:26Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
11:27Stop.
11:38Uh-oh.
11:52High in the forever claim.
11:55Fallers Chris and Brendan's $18,000 tree is hanging by a thread.
12:01There's some wind gusts coming up, and I can see it moving, which has got me a little bit sketched out.
12:11If you were to get high wind, it could possibly prematurely go, fall over, barber chair.
12:17I think I'll strap it, though, just in case.
12:19Yeah, probably a good idea.
12:21Just basically going to leave a piece of wood in there that's hopefully going to hold her up until I'm ready to cut that piece of wood, kind of like a trigger.
12:30Instead of a traditional back cut, which would leave this tree at the mercy of lateral wind force,
12:39Brendan will make his final cuts from the sides, creating what's known as a strap in the middle.
12:45If it holds, it should be just enough to guide the whole thing down to a soft landing.
12:50I'll get at her.
13:09Yeah, there it goes, there it goes.
13:11There it goes!
13:20Hell yeah!
13:33Quite a bit more wood in it than a guy would have thought.
13:38That's impressive.
13:40It sure didn't sound like it was going to look like that.
13:43No, that's sound.
13:45Yeah.
13:46That was a good one.
13:46Yeah.
13:5080 miles southeast at the float camp claim.
14:01We've got a mission ahead of us, boys.
14:04This giant arm.
14:06We have no control of this kind of weight, which makes it very scary.
14:11Just drag it that way, and then we'll get it hooked to the skitter, and we'll get this down the mountain.
14:15And just make sure everybody keeps their heads on the swivel, and get the f*** out of the way if we need to get the f*** out of the way.
14:21I give her a 60% chance you get her down there with no f*** ups.
14:25We're really going to just have to take her time, first gear, inch it down the mountain, and go from there.
14:33Adrian, you're going to hook us up?
14:34Yep.
14:35A little slack.
14:36Let's see how that goes.
14:41Okay.
14:42I'm going to lift it up here, and I guess we'll slowly go down.
14:47Okay.
14:56Nice and easy.
14:58That's about it, because that heel's going to hit, but I should be okay at this height.
15:02It'll be that switchback will be the hard part.
15:08Isn't that how that guy from Makovic died in a wheel loader?
15:11He was trying to get a fuel tank up around the switchback and flopped it.
15:15He wasn't strapped in, and he had the door wide open, and threw him out, and the machine landed on him.
15:23Well, they're going to go around the switchback now.
15:25I think the main worry, basically, is that Ross in the 980's got to have his boom way up in the air.
15:33It kind of makes him top-heavy, and so it'd be pretty easy, especially with such a steep hill,
15:40it'd be pretty easy for Jared to pull him over.
15:42I'll try to go as wide as I can.
15:44Okay, you bet.
15:51You'll see those tires of yours compress.
15:53Oh, the things are very heavy here.
15:57They're bracking.
16:07That was exciting.
16:09Yeah, I wouldn't want to go around too many of them like that.
16:13No.
16:16Try to go super wide, and we'll lay it along the side of the turnout here.
16:21Okay.
16:23Beautiful, basically done.
16:30Pull for a couple of pros.
16:34Got the boomer stick out of here.
16:37Getting the machine carcass down itself is going to be a whole other thing.
16:41It's going to be challenging for these guys.
16:43Well, I feel like there's another landing just over here that we're going to have to go check out.
16:56In the air above the forever clay.
16:59Okay, we're going to get beat up going into there, too, so we're going to get down nice and low.
17:03Camp foreman Brad is still unable to land due to high winds.
17:07The only option may be to wait it out for calmer conditions.
17:16All right, here we go.
17:17We've got to get ourselves back up to the coast here now.
17:21Yeah, I'm just going to go ahead and take us into this little cove here.
17:24We should be safe here for a little bit.
17:56Anybody on the barge read this radio?
18:02The first thing I've got to do is try and make connection with camp.
18:06It's an uncomfortable feeling knowing I've got a mission to accomplish and I just can't.
18:11I'm just sitting there with a hopeless feeling that, you know, maybe today is just a total write-off.
18:18You can tell right now we're just parking the lee.
18:20We're in a bit of a bay, so the weather's not too bad.
18:23But if you look out past the point there, you can see the whitecaps rolling through.
18:26Even the clouds are moving pretty quickly here, so that system's still quite angry.
18:31Looking at the forecast, there might even be some dicier weather coming in.
18:35So we can only do what we can do, and right now we can't do a damn thing.
18:39All right, man, it's go time.
18:57Yeah, we've got to give it a try.
19:09The weather's come down a little bit, but let's go give it a shot here.
19:12Fair enough, man.
19:13Let's try her out.
19:14Ten miles shy of the forever claim, after a night spent grounded due to high winds.
19:25All right, here we go.
19:26We're going to give it another one last shot here.
19:29Foreman Brad may finally have a chance at getting into camp before the claim's first log barge arrives.
19:36Yeah, still a little rough out here.
19:38All right, here goes nothing.
19:51It's a moment of truth.
19:53Roger.
19:58All right, there's camp.
20:01We can hold onto her down close to the waters.
20:02Now it's time to really concentrate on the task at hand and just get this operation firing on all cylinders.
20:19With the first log barge due at camp in less than 24 hours,
20:23the top priority is assessing how much wood has hit the water so far.
20:27Barge days, a big day for the operation and everybody that's pulling towards this goal.
20:40So you feel the pressure.
20:41It's all on your shoulders, but good loggers, we thrive in these kind of situations.
20:46Diamonds are created under pressure.
20:47We don't have enough bags of wood to actually fill that big barge, the herc that we normally have come in here.
21:03It's looking like we're at least three bags shy.
21:07A bag is a floating pin filled with 50 bundles of high-value timber.
21:12And without enough of them, it's impossible to fill the 400-foot Hercules.
21:17Bringing the herc up here right now is just going to be a waste of time and money.
21:22Obviously, this isn't the news that Jared's going to want to hear.
21:28You have reached.
21:30Jared Douglas.
21:31After leaving him.
21:33We do have access to a smaller barge that I'm pretty sure we can fill with what we got here.
21:39It's going to make better business sense for us to bring that little barge in and have it leave at capacity
21:46instead of that big herc leaving half full.
21:49Coast Island Marine.
21:51It's a terrible situation for me to be in as a new foreman.
21:54It's just, you know, one more thing that's gone wrong.
21:56But it's the right decision to make.
21:58We don't have enough bags of wood to fill the herc.
22:01Okay.
22:02How much wood do you have?
22:03Well, I'm looking at about five bags right now and, you know, a bunch of stragglers.
22:08But, you know, it's not enough for the big girl.
22:11We can pull in a smaller barge.
22:14It just makes better business sense at this point.
22:16Roger that.
22:17We'll send in the smaller one.
22:19All right.
22:19Yeah.
22:20Bye.
22:30Back at float cam.
22:31Is this your trail in?
22:39This is my trail for now, yeah.
22:44Fallers Jim and Rob are scouring the high country in hopes of closing out the final days of the float camp lease with a big profit.
22:51Oh, big red candelabra cedar.
22:56Oh, yeah.
22:57This cedar is what we call candelabras.
23:00It's a bunch of spiked top forks that all grow together and it looks like basically a big dinner candle that you'd have at the dinner table in the 1500s.
23:09Holy s***.
23:12It's really got nothing for it to stand on again.
23:14But I think the top's a beautiful piece of wood.
23:23Yeah.
23:26You can probably follow it right from inside there.
23:28There's probably four or five different legs that this thing's hanging out on.
23:40There are inherent problems with these things just because it's leaning up the hill.
23:44So that in general is a problem itself.
23:47The fact that it's so big and there's so much s*** up top.
23:52This might have a tendency to snap off early and I'll still be underneath.
23:56To keep this 50-ton candelabra from crashing into the trees up the hill,
24:08Jim will aim his face cut toward a softer landing to the side.
24:12But with so much of its base missing,
24:14there's a good chance that the whole thing could buckle early and crash straight down on him.
24:22Okay, let's do it.
24:23Okay.
24:26It's standing on just pin points,
24:41so you've got to be very calculated where you cut.
24:44Any wrong cut is going to cause this thing to come down prematurely.
24:47Oh!
25:12Okay, well that popped.
25:14That's definitely going to be...
25:15If you're talking, I don't know how much more you're going to get.
25:19I'm just going to want to commit up and into that timber,
25:22so I'm going to have to get this cut up and remove this middle part.
25:25Work your way back that way?
25:26Yeah, so if I get bore in, come back,
25:30hopefully that'll remedy what's going on.
25:33That's the plan.
25:34See what happens.
25:36All right.
25:38Wish me luck.
25:39Shattering, come on!
25:55She's talking.
25:58It's moving.
25:59Oh yeah.
26:00It's definitely moving.
26:02Something's going to happen.
26:03What the hell is this thing doing?
26:11Oh yeah.
26:11Come on, bitch.
26:21Holy...
26:22What the hell is this thing doing?
26:23Who knows what's going to happen?
26:33She was definitely talking.
26:37Oh hell.
26:38There she goes.
26:40One final shebang.
26:47Oh baby!
26:48I don't get it.
27:03Not ideal.
27:05It looks like a piece of ****.
27:08It's **** brutal.
27:12Not much of a stump left, Jim.
27:13It's just more of a crater that you kind of walk through.
27:16Well, that's not cool.
27:19Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a bit more rotten than it looked.
27:22So, when this thing smashed to the ground,
27:25it separated exactly up that entire tree, the whole length of it.
27:28Broken in half, it devalues it almost in half.
27:31Things don't always go to plan.
27:48So, we're just doing doubles on the outside, single in the middle?
27:54Double on the outside, single in the middle.
27:56Okay.
27:56I'll get out of your way, but anything we can do to get this process going is obviously that barge.
28:00It's already started working a little early, so we just, we've got to get this wrapped and going.
28:04At the forever claim, the first long barge of the operation has arrived.
28:11But slow production has forced Brad to call in a vessel one-quarter the usual size.
28:16We're bringing in the smaller barge because it just makes better business sense.
28:23The big barge, that barge has got a big price tag.
28:25And if we're not filling it to capacity, we're just wasting money and wasting time.
28:29But this barge has to leave full.
28:33So, right now, we're working our way down at the booming ground.
28:37We've got a few more loaded trucks coming in, coming down the hill.
28:41And the poor loader operator here is working shorthanded, so I'm down here to give him a hand.
28:45The name of the game is filling that barge right now.
28:48And all hands on deck, that includes me down here doing something that I don't normally do.
28:52But that's the job of a foreman, jumping in wherever he can, filling those gaps,
28:56making sure the monster and the machine keep rolling.
29:00Now we splash for the cash.
29:02Okay.
29:15Yeehaw!
29:17That's what we like to see.
29:20Big bundle hitting the water.
29:22That thing's ready to go right on the barge.
29:26Looks like we might have broke a wire there.
29:52At the float camp claim...
30:01You got a piece of rope or something?
30:04We can chin.
30:05Jared, Ross, and Adrian are making steady headway on their burnt-out loader salvage.
30:10Yeah, I can get it right in the back.
30:12But before bringing down the main body of the machine,
30:16they'll first have to remove its second most valuable part,
30:18the $3,000 hood.
30:23The hood has hydraulic cylinders that open it up so that people can service the inside of the log loader.
30:30So we're going to cut those off with the torch.
30:33Adrian, we got fire, man.
30:49Okay.
30:51How is there anything left to burn?
30:53Must be all that hydraulic oil.
30:55It's burning pretty good.
31:02When a machine goes up on flames, that could start a forest fire.
31:07Fire is scary.
31:09And we hate fire.
31:12Fires in the dense timberlands are a logger's worst nightmare.
31:15Summer heat mixed with dry wood can spark a devastating blaze,
31:21which can rage through millions of acres,
31:25threaten lives,
31:26and cost operations millions of dollars in fines and lost income.
31:33We're just going to try and get the hood off.
31:34Then I can get at it.
31:35I can't get at it right now.
31:36I mean, I can't imagine there's too much left to burn,
31:39but if it gets out of control, I mean, we're in trouble.
31:40There's everywhere.
31:41We don't have a fire truck at hand right now.
31:43We don't have a fire truck at hand right now.
31:46Gate open!
31:55Won't lift!
31:56It won't lift it?
31:57It's hung up!
32:00Um...
32:03Hurry up the reset.
32:07Ross, grab some fire extinguishers.
32:09It's been a fire extinguisher.
32:12Piss cans never work, man.
32:28There you go.
32:29It's out.
32:30It's out.
32:30you just couldn't let it burn once.
32:34You got to make it burn twice.
32:36I wasn't planning on that for the record.
32:39No point crying over hurt loaders.
32:41Let's go.
32:42Yeah, OK.
32:52Win.
32:55I'm a little nervous that we still
32:56have this major piece of iron, really heavy, awkward,
33:01to get down this mountain.
33:02So what we're going to do is hook the grapple,
33:06get you to pull it back.
33:08We'll tape up the grab hooks so they don't come loose.
33:10And then we'll just get her, push her over the crest of the hill.
33:14And you should be able to just walk it down the hill.
33:18All right.
33:18All right.
33:19You're going to move your shop truck.
33:19Let's get this done.
33:20Yeah, sounds good.
33:21OK, buddy.
33:26We're going to see how this goes.
33:28I'd like to say trial by fire, but that's already happened.
33:31You on Cypress, Ross?
33:34Yeah, I got you.
33:36OK.
33:37We're going to go for it.
33:38You guys ready?
33:39Let's go.
33:41We've got this, Roscoe.
33:43Get it to take its gravity right down the mountain,
33:46and we should be good.
33:48OK, Ross.
33:48We're going to hit.
33:49Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
33:53Stop.
33:57Oh.
33:58Hey, hey, hey, stop.
34:14Oh!
34:17Oh, bugs are chewing on my head.
34:31The biggest annoyance I have is bugs.
34:33I'd rather work in the snow than work with bugs.
34:42There's like four different shifts of bugs.
34:45There's the no-see-ums in the morning,
34:47and then it switches to the mosquitoes.
34:52The mosquito's just hovering in the back,
34:54so your leg's just, you know, looking for a spot.
34:58And then the afternoon shift, which is the black flies.
35:03And then late afternoon night shift
35:05is the horse flies come out and carve stakes off you.
35:09So, yeah, biggest annoyance in the bush.
35:14Bugs.
35:15Well, that didn't go as planned.
35:21Chain broke?
35:22Chain and grab hook broke.
35:24Oh.
35:26Well, that didn't go as planned.
35:28Chain broke?
35:29Chain and grab hook broke.
35:32This thing just won't go.
35:33This thing is just causing me heartburn every step of the way.
35:36It's blocking the road.
35:37We keep adding days of non-production,
35:38non-money-making days.
35:39Non-money-making days.
36:05Just say win.
36:06Win.
36:07Oh, push, you pull.
36:09OK.
36:26Oh, that's better.
36:27I don't believe what's going on there.
36:28I don't know, man.
36:33What the fuck?
36:37Yeah.
36:42I'm going to lose my .
36:44This is going about as well as I kind of thought it would.
36:47There's at least 30 tons of log loader there,
36:49and tracks just like to go straight.
36:52They don't turn.
36:53There's no brakes.
36:54Yeah, I can try to steer it again.
36:57OK, yeah, try again.
37:07There you go.
37:19That's a way.
37:22Oh, the old switchback's going to be fun.
37:28OK, bring her.
37:30OK, bring her.
37:46You guys are getting pretty good at this now.
37:49OK, I think we'll go straight back and just leave it.
37:51We'll block it up for the night.
37:53Oh, never want to do that again.
38:03That was hard on everything.
38:05But she's here, ready for the low bed,
38:07and get it to the scrap yard.
38:12Mission accomplished.
38:13Yeah.
38:14You wonder why we drink.
38:27Back at the forever claim.
38:30Looks like we might have broke a wire there.
38:36That bundle in itself isn't really ready to go onto the barge.
38:39We're going to have to bring it back into the shore,
38:41and we'll rebuild it, make sure we've got a better package.
38:44Because once that crane gets its hooks in there,
38:46right now it will not survive,
38:47so we've got to do a better job and fix it.
38:51We love challenges.
38:53Luckily, we're in an industry that just keeps giving us challenges.
39:11That looks a lot better.
39:16Cheers, bro.
39:17Cheers.
39:21Jared's not going to be happy about this decision.
39:23Obviously, he wants as much wood leaving as possible,
39:26but in this situation, the small barge is the best fit.
39:29I'm not looking forward to it,
39:30but I'm going to have to let Jared know what happened.
39:32What's going on?
39:42Well, nothing great, I'm afraid.
39:44We just finished loading the logs up here at the forever claim,
39:47and we don't have enough wood.
39:49I'm looking at about a quarter of what we need.
39:52Oh, what?
39:53Yeah, I don't know what the hold up is,
39:55but by the time I got here, we were so short on splashed logs,
39:58they had to bring in a smaller barge.
40:00Oh, really?
40:01Yeah, we'll get to the bottom of it,
40:03but I just wanted to give you the heads up on this one.
40:05Okay.
40:07I came out short on the first barge royalty.
40:11This is catastrophic.
40:15For me to have any shot at buying the forever claim,
40:18these log barges not only have to pay the royalties to John,
40:22but on top of that, they need to have a little bit of profit.
40:25At this rate, there's no way I'm going to come up with the $2 million
40:29at the end of the season.
40:31It's not looking good, not good at all.
40:34Logging is a very bumpy road.
40:36A lot of times you feel like you've taken three steps forward
40:39and two steps back, but you just got to lean into it.
40:42Don't get pushed over, don't get pushed aside.
40:44Just go forward, get it done.
40:47And progress is in persistence.
40:50Next time...
40:52Don't back it over the bank.
40:54Oh, oh, oh!
40:56Oh, that's so close!
40:58That's kind of work super hard.
41:00Do you think we're going to get a full margin today?
41:02The last thing I want to do is get a tug in here
41:04and hook onto your float camp and take it.
41:06I don't want to do that, but if I have to, I'm going to do it.
41:08The last thing I want to do is get a tug in here and hook onto your float camp and take it.
41:18I don't want to do that, but if I have to, I'm going to do it.
