00:00You look for women and men who struggle with eczema.
00:03It should be comfortable on their skin,
00:06and it needs to produce a jaw-dropping reveal.
00:09This is going to be bananas.
00:11Everybody here has won a challenge.
00:13I haven't won, and I've been this close.
00:15I'm like, this is my challenge.
00:17I don't know about the silver.
00:19It's a bit effeminate.
00:20I really like the design.
00:22Antonio and Vijay, you made our two favorite looks
00:26on the runway.
00:27Antonio, congratulations.
00:29You're the winner.
00:30You had our favorite look this week.
00:32I finally win!
00:35I think you being in the top is ludicrous.
00:38You didn't even have a reveal at all.
00:40What the ?
00:41Melania, Jesus, both of your looks failed as a reveal.
00:45And even worse, you failed your client.
00:48You're both out.
00:51Whoa.
00:52Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:54What the ?
00:55A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship
01:05with the CFDA.
01:06How dare you?
01:07This is Project Runway.
01:08What are you doing?!
01:16Tonight, you're both out.
01:21I'm in shock.
01:22Me and Jesus, we're the two that got two wins.
01:23Me and Jesus, we're the two that got two wins.
01:27This is out of control.
01:30I'm literally in lots of words.
01:32I've performed so well in this competition.
01:35I think I also delivered something nice on the runway.
01:38And I had a reveal.
01:40So I'm so confused as of why BJ is not sitting in my spot right now.
01:45I'm sorry.
01:53But that is until someone convinced us otherwise.
02:02What?
02:04Hello.
02:06I think you're both really talented and worked really hard.
02:09I know you did, right?
02:11I convinced the judges that you both should stay.
02:17I'm not going home.
02:27Ah!
02:28Yes!
02:29If it wasn't for Christian, you both would be getting myofedazine today.
02:34I don't think we should get rid of either of them.
02:36Really?
02:37They both won challenges.
02:38They're both talented.
02:39And then only three to the finale.
02:41I think it's a great idea.
02:42No, you can't pick me up.
02:46I'm not going to pick you up.
02:48Thank you so much.
02:50I'm so excited that my dream is still alive.
02:53And I've never been more motivated to make to the finale than I am right now.
02:57Good luck.
02:58Thank you so much.
02:59Good luck.
03:00This is great.
03:03Is this going home?
03:05Oh my God.
03:08I don't know.
03:09Bitch, I'm also in.
03:11I don't know.
03:12I don't know.
03:13I don't know.
03:14I don't know.
03:15I don't know.
03:16I don't know.
03:20Christian said that he wants to see both of us in because we've made great work.
03:25So we're both safe.
03:26Are you kidding me?
03:27I want Jesus to go home.
03:30Christian, what are you doing?
03:32Shut up.
03:33The bitch is back and I'm not going home.
03:36It's on.
03:37It's on my way.
03:43Tots, Tots, mama.
03:45Wow.
03:47Hello, designers.
03:48Hi, Heidi.
03:49The final five.
03:52I feel like I've said that before.
03:54I know.
03:55Stayed your mood.
03:56It's top five.
03:57We're all still here.
03:58I'm coming up a win.
03:59Wow.
04:00Let me take a deep breath.
04:05This feeling is good.
04:07I am more confident as a solo designer than I've ever been.
04:10And the finish line is really, really, really close.
04:13There's five of you, but unfortunately, only three of you will make it to the big finale.
04:20This is the most important challenge of this competition.
04:24This is the challenge before the finale.
04:27And knowing the two of us are going home, I can't mess this up.
04:31I just can't.
04:33Because this challenge determines who is going to the finale.
04:36We had to do something very, very special.
04:39Take a look.
04:41Roll the clip.
04:43Oh, hi, Heidi.
04:44And hello, designers.
04:48It's Oz's most popular witches.
04:49Wow.
04:50Ah!
04:51Cynthia!
04:52Ariana!
04:53Ugh.
04:54We hear the season of Project Runway has more twists and turns than the yellow brick road.
04:57And we're certain the experience has changed you for good.
05:00We wish we could be there in person, but you are in amazing and talented hands.
05:04We're pleased to welcome to the runway the most swankified man in Oz.
05:07Oscar-winning costume designer of Wicked.
05:09And the upcoming Wicked for Good, Paul Tazewell.
05:12Good luck, designers.
05:13Wow.
05:14Wow.
05:15Wow.
05:16Woo!
05:17Designers.
05:18Wow.
05:19It's such an honor to have you here.
05:23It's so great to be here.
05:27Paul Tazewell is the first African-American man to win an Oscar for best costume design.
05:33On top of like all his other accolades, because he's been really running these costume design Broadway streets since the 90s.
05:40So, you know, just in the presence of an icon, no big deal.
05:44You will be creating an avant-garde look based on the themes of the upcoming movie Wicked for Good.
05:53To help inspire you, you are getting a sneak peek.
05:56Stop.
05:57Stop.
05:58You're the only friend I ever had.
06:07But there's no going back.
06:14They're coming for you.
06:19Think of what we can do together.
06:23I can relate to this so much because Antonio and I have such a strong brotherhood and Linda and
06:39Elphaba have such a strong sisterhood. So I'm like, wow, this is such a beautiful challenge
06:44for Antonio and I. Wicked focuses on the power of friendship, marginalization of people that
06:51are different and also self-empowerment. So it's on you, hopefully, to take that inspiration
06:57and create it in your own way and reimagine the idea of Oz. And what if I told you you
07:04might have not only one day, but you know, two days! Oh my God. Finally! Girl, I'm about to cry.
07:16A lot of emotions. I got saved. Paul Tazewell. Wicked. Avant-garde. Damn it.
07:23Paul and Christian will meet you guys in the workroom where there will be some other surprises.
07:27So enjoy. Good luck to all of you.
07:38My designers. So fragile. So expensive. So designer.
07:42Is this for Rio? So not only did you get a special look at the film, you also get this
07:48fabulous special look at the costumes from the film, which is incredible. And you're gonna get
07:53to talk directly with the man who made it all come to life. What you see before you is Elphaba
07:59and Glinda. For Elphaba, I leaned into all that was organic. I was influenced by mycelia, bark,
08:07the underside of mushrooms. Speechless. With Glinda, it's all that is artificial. All that is sparkly
08:15and beautiful. I then wanted to really establish that idea of the iridescent bubble. Swirls and those
08:22things that are whimsical. And pink and green define what the world of Wicked is. Think about this idea,
08:28taking the inspiration of Wicked for good, but still avant-garde. And whatever that means to you and
08:33your brand and your work still needs to be fashion. It's still a runway. Push it really hard. You guys
08:40go sketch and we'll come around. This is my challenge. I'm good at avant-garde. Good luck to the designers.
08:50Good luck. Hi, I'm Glinda. I'm thinking about doing a head-to-toe pink beaded bodysuit with gloves
09:00and do a beautiful cape of our gants out. Amazing. Well, make sure that you're also
09:05thinking about avant-garde, like something you've never seen before. Yeah, because like
09:08a pink bodysuit is fabulous, but like Jennifer Lopez literally wear that every single night. And
09:13a flower cape, Valentino's made for like 20 years. So push it more. I'm not worried at all. I hope my
09:20win last week can carry me through this challenge and into the finale. My biggest competition is my
09:25brother. And I feel like I finally catch up to him. The judges really are going to see
09:31what Antonio Stroud is capable of. I wanted to tap more into the nature side. So I thought about
09:36a beautiful tree. Nature has no linear lines. Absolutely. But remember, you know, still want
09:42that fashion moment. I'm trying to use the design style that I discovered for myself. Sophisticated
09:49streetwear and push it to avant-garde. The pressure is turned up to 5,000. And I really, really,
09:58really want to make it to the finale. So I'm determined to deliver. Wicked For Good is a movie
10:04about friendship being torn apart. And I kind of want to create a fabric that's kind of like peeling
10:10off or being torn apart. I really want it to be crazy, but in a good way. I mean, what I'm seeing
10:16is really exciting. Huge fan of texture. Also, like, your work is, you know, very quiet sometimes.
10:21I think this has to be the fantasy. Yes. Right? I really agree with Christian. My work,
10:27it's very quiet because I think that there is beauty in simplicity. But avant-garde should not
10:35be quiet. I love to play with restraint. A lot of Elphaba's journey, she's restraining herself
10:42because of her skin. Growing up, I was a little queer kid, and I didn't know really how to express
10:49myself. And so when I saw Wicked, it did help me, like, feel comfortable in my own skin. And yeah,
10:54it really means a lot to me. Ugh. I'm obsessed. And so I want to play with this beautiful crystal
11:01overlay off the shoulders. Just it's flowing down to just beautiful fabric. You did do the first
11:10challenge where you had a glove through your giant wind cape, and that standing still might not be
11:16enough. This needs to be incredible, which you above all people can do. Avant-garde is my bread and
11:26butter. I think that I could do a hybrid of what I've done before, but these decisions are the ones that
11:30are going to push me into the finale. So I got to make the right decisions. It's a lot of pressure.
11:35Everybody get up. I have a really strong connection with Elphaba. I want to create this
11:41really amazing avant-garde coat dress with really huge hips. I don't know if avant-garde is in Jesus'
11:50wheelhouse because he makes a lot of beautiful dresses, but a beautiful dress is not avant-garde.
11:56Then I want to mold the collar into around the neck and into a hat. I mean,
12:02the silhouette of the dress is something that we've seen before. It's literally exactly the same.
12:07I don't know what he's thinking. This challenge might be Jesus' downfall. I got this.
12:17And we're back. This is probably the most important shop of the season. Five of you left,
12:22two of you go home on this challenge. Fabric is so important. 30 minutes, thousand dollars to shop.
12:28I love money. And I love spending other people's money. Ready, go. On your broomsticks.
12:39I have been eyeing this crystal fabric and I find this beautiful green satin. My ritual plan was in
12:47silver because of Glinda's shoes, but that crystal fabric is more of a green tone. So like green
12:54is just a natural choice. BJ, all this red is for you. A lot of your budgets going to this one fabric.
13:01Setting myself apart from other designers is a strategy that I've used for the entire competition
13:07because you need to have a unique point of view. All going to be red. Yes. The whole thing. Yes.
13:13Very powerful. It's a risk to use red because I know that this is not the usual
13:18colors that you can associate with the movie, but no risk, no reward. Can you see your sketch,
13:24BJ? No. I don't know yet what I'm making. I just want to see what you sketched. I don't know yet
13:30what I'm making. You don't have to show him. I like that she doesn't show anybody. No. Like,
13:34you can't get it at her. She's trying to win. I like it. All right, designers, one minute left.
13:40Ah, anxiety. What color are you using? Green. Oh my God. You and Ethan are both using green.
13:48So it's a battle between who has the best green look. Bitch, I'm not worried.
13:53He was not supposed to do green. He was supposed to do silver. I'm his biggest threat.
13:58Can you see? It's inside. Bitch, you never want to show me your sketch. You want to see my fabric?
14:06BJ is a silent killer. I'll see it later. She never wants to show anybody's her sketch.
14:11When you show me your sketch, I'll show you my fabric. I'm not showing you my sketch.
14:15Game is on, BJ.
14:16Give me, give me, give me more. And you better not have me more. I want more.
14:21Na, na, na, na, na. Make some magic happen.
14:24Give me, give me more.
14:29You guys really bought expensive fabrics. How much is it a yard?
14:32This is $750 a yard. Wow.
14:35Wow. He's so sad you copied his color.
14:41Get it straight, bitch. I don't want you to, like, start tea. But never say that he was copying me.
14:45Don't put words in my mouth. You just accused me of saying that he copied me and I didn't say that.
14:51Let me just clear the air. I want to clear it because you're starting tea.
14:54I'm just, like, asking why both of you are using green. You're initially going for silver.
14:59No, the original plan was that Ethan was going to use silver. I was going to do the green.
15:03And Antonio was going to do pink.
15:05Pink. Okay.
15:06Because we're hoping that we're on the top three. Period.
15:09Whoa. Whoa. Damn. What? Bitch.
15:12But never say that he was copying me. Don't put words in my mouth.
15:17He said that you change it to green. Actually, my original thought was green. But then I thought,
15:23oh, what if I switch it to silver for the shoes? I'm not copying nobody. I'm just doing the correct
15:29branding. No one here owns green. She's got to go home.
15:32I know it's like when I'm, this is like the moment that I'm like, bleh, chiton.
15:38Jesus is fuming. I can already feel his heat coming down from his pores. I have my popcorn ready.
15:46Y'all are spicy. This is just getting me more fuel to send you home.
15:50Jesus can go from zero to 200%. And I am the opposite. I'm not taking it in a very personal
16:00level. But I think Jesus cannot do that. So there's going to be chaos and war.
16:06The sea witch bitch goes home. It's like, I'm done with it. I don't want that.
16:11She really is a shit starter. She's a shit starter.
16:14Uh-huh. I don't hear shit. I don't know shit. Nope. It's very serious. And I don't like it.
16:19You don't with the Gemini. Oh my God.
16:23I've gotten nowhere with my garment. I don't have time for this, y'all.
16:30I'm going to change mine into a gown. The fabric is too beautiful not to do a gown.
16:35I have a question with both of you. Like, this is like a random question.
16:38Uh-oh. For example, just let's say, of course, ideally, both of you want to be in the finale.
16:46But let's say there's only one. Have you guys talked about who do you think
16:51I don't know. Deserve it more?
16:53This is just like an honest. I think Antonio started in the bottom and then you started in the top.
16:59And then during the entire competition, it's kind of like he's on the top, on the top, on the top,
17:04and then like... Rich. What are you talking about?
17:07Honey, I'm just going up. I'm not saying you're going down.
17:10No, listen to me. I'm just going up.
17:13Security! Security! We need security on set.
17:19You never know. Like, last challenge, it was a shock to me that I was in the bottom.
17:25You should have gone home. Period.
17:27I mean, I like my look. When I ask questions, I'm just trying to know you and to get to know you.
17:34But I get in trouble sometimes because I'm always very honest. And sometimes I lose friends because of that.
17:41It might come across offensive.
17:43I do miss the challenge, honey. Why did I miss it?
17:46Because there was no reveal. There was a reveal of the Christmas sweater.
17:51I'd rather wear a Christmas sweater rather than dancing with the stars that looks like a magician.
17:57My coat was stronger than all your three pieces if you really want to go there.
18:01Wow.
18:02My god, this week is to tener razón.
18:08You're a piping bitch.
18:09Oh my god.
18:10Starting trouble.
18:12Jesus, now what the is me?
18:13This is very loud.
18:20I'm not really trying to create drama.
18:23She looks at me and I'm like, bye.
18:32Jesus and I fight a lot, but for me, it's coming from competition.
18:39You put two competitive people in one group, so what would you expect?
18:44You know, we're not going to hug each other.
18:45We're going to stop each other because we want to win and it's normal.
18:49She said, I'm not starting to do star drama.
18:51I'm like, yeah, but you did.
18:52She is drama.
18:53You don't have a DNA, honey.
18:55All your looks look from different designers.
18:58VG has always seen us as frenemies, but she's pushed me way too far.
19:03I don't know if it's her strategy to make it to the top,
19:06because I truly have no idea why she's still in this competition.
19:11You really want me to go there?
19:14Hi, everybody.
19:16There's not that much done.
19:17I was going to do a jumpsuit.
19:23I kind of had a nightmare that J-Lo sent me home, so I changed my mind.
19:27I'm not doing a cave.
19:28It's almost like a shawl, but I want to make it big and I want to make my own flowers.
19:33It has to be huge.
19:34Huge.
19:34Focus on this wow moment piece.
19:37You need a flower cocoon.
19:39Flower cocoon bubble.
19:41Let me write that down.
19:42How do you spell cocoon?
19:43Cocoon.
19:44I don't know.
19:45C-A-C-O-O-N?
19:50This is one of Alphaba's friends from the forest.
19:56Tree creature.
19:57Yes.
19:57This is really cool.
19:59It was really hard to find texture and the right color of trees and moss.
20:03I don't think you should go too costumed-esque like a tree.
20:10What's going to make you stand out?
20:11Knowing that I could have gone home in the last challenge is shaking my confidence.
20:16I'm worried about my look not standing out in the room full of glitter, sparkle, and 3D definition.
20:25I'm concerned.
20:27Who is she?
20:29Lady Godiva.
20:30So you're sticking with your plan.
20:31Like you're not going to see the body at all.
20:33Yeah.
20:34Like you're covering her up in green.
20:36Even if it was just a small amount into a V or something.
20:40You know, I could plunge this down and really get it close to the body.
20:44I think so.
20:45I don't want them to be like, this just isn't enough.
20:49Throughout this competition, I have had to tone it down.
20:52Because, you know, my sentiments for fashion is really loud and bananas.
20:56But this challenge is my opportunity to really turn what I'm good at up to 100.
21:03This is that one challenge you could push it even just a little bit more.
21:06Okay.
21:09I don't want it to kind of look like what I did for Unconventional, you know, the gown.
21:13I want to make her a little more sexy.
21:14Mm-hmm.
21:15I think you can do all this.
21:16Or you just let me.
21:18I know, but it's a lot of work.
21:19Mm, I can handle it.
21:21I need to send her home.
21:22You really, I guess, what did you just say?
21:24BJ just killed the vibe not too long ago.
21:26She, she's one of those.
21:30I am sad because there's a lot of assumptions that I am steering the pot.
21:34One of the things that I learned in this competition is that you got to be very careful
21:38because people just really create drama out of nothing.
21:43BJ, the room is very frazzled about you today.
21:46I know.
21:46I really don't know why.
21:48It just feels so weird because they, they thought that I should, that I should got eliminated last challenge.
21:55I don't know, Alphaba is a person that kind of like being rejected for who she is.
22:01Mm-hmm.
22:02And you know, it's like, yeah, it's like, you know, it's like, I felt rejection so many times.
22:07And it's not that easy.
22:08It's kind of like, I kind of relate to that character as a trans woman being rejected,
22:13being said no a lot of times about that.
22:17It's like, no matter how hard it is.
22:20I understand.
22:22Yeah.
22:22Trust me, I was an out little gay boy when I was on this in 2008.
22:27Yeah.
22:27It was rough.
22:28It wasn't fun.
22:29Yeah.
22:30But you're here and there's so many allies in the world and people are gonna be so inspired by you.
22:34There are things about me that people don't understand as an immigrant woman,
22:40as a trans woman, and as a fierce competitor.
22:43But those are the things that I like about me.
22:46I see my uniqueness as a special power.
22:50And I want to channel all of that into this design.
22:53You get to create and show people what you can do.
22:56And so be proud of yourself.
22:58A little trepidatious about them being like, it's too similar to the first one.
23:17But it's a totally different, like, headpiece.
23:21Totally different.
23:21Yeah.
23:22There's not a lot of time to pivot.
23:24And pivoting last week hurt a lot.
23:28But I'm hoping that I kill it.
23:30One stumble could let me fall out of this competition.
23:33Oh no!
23:35I think I could be in trouble.
23:36I think I could be in trouble.
23:38When the beat drops, hands up, hands up.
23:41When the beat drops...
23:43Hello, designers!
23:45Hi!
23:46Hello!
23:47Wow, what an honor.
23:48Great spot!
23:49Oh my god, the Oscar winner.
23:51I have never had an opportunity to have my work critiqued by an Oscar winner.
23:57How are you?
23:58It's a pleasure.
23:59It's a pleasure.
24:00So this is, this is it.
24:03Definitely avant-garde.
24:04And it would be great to understand direction so that it doesn't feel random.
24:10Okay, I'll do that.
24:12It needs to be intentional.
24:13Yeah.
24:14My worry is that, are they gonna get it?
24:17Are they gonna see Wicked?
24:18The face of your model is open.
24:20And how does it relate to the green skin?
24:25I think it could be kind of cool if all of her face was covered too.
24:28Well, that's what I was wondering as well.
24:29And I think that it would also push the avant-garde.
24:32It's a good idea.
24:33Yeah, I'm excited to see that.
24:36Antonio.
24:37Hello, your majesty.
24:42Tell me about your design.
24:44So, originally when we spoke, I wanted to do a cat suit.
24:47I remember Chris was like, oh, J-Lo's done that.
24:49I'm like, you know what?
24:50Right, right, right.
24:51I'm gonna do the most beautiful evening gown I've ever made.
24:55And I'm adding the green heart because it's a special place for my Alphaba,
25:00which is my twin brother.
25:03Okay.
25:04We've seen many evening dresses.
25:07How is this an avant-garde statement?
25:10Because this poppy flower that's on the floor, it's gonna be her flower cocoon.
25:16Kind of like wings.
25:17Yeah.
25:18Pushing your silhouette is the direction that I would suggest.
25:23Yeah.
25:23Really make it something we've never seen before.
25:25I mean, that was fueling almost all of my decisions when I was designing Wicked.
25:29So, how can you take us to that next level?
25:32This is my interpretation of her hat.
25:35Mm-hmm.
25:36Right?
25:36So, I want the point to be dramatic, like avant-garde.
25:39And I wanted to do a 3D heart because, you know, my brother's doing green and I mixed the pink in it.
25:46The twins obviously are helping each other, but they're not helping each other editing the look.
25:54If I'm Jesus, I will tell Antonio right now to get rid of that ugly flower.
26:00It represents the love that she will forever in her life have for Glenda.
26:06Wonderful.
26:07It touches my heart.
26:09There may be strengths in what you have already, but if you focus on that and make that really beautiful,
26:14then you really won't lead to anything else.
26:16Where I'm at in my process is getting the moss effect full throttle going.
26:21What I see currently are silhouettes that in and themselves are interesting.
26:28It's how do you keep all of it talking to each other.
26:31Talking to each other.
26:34I like Balanius, but it doesn't read avant-garde.
26:37It reads street wear.
26:39There's a lot at stake because two people are going to go.
26:42So, girl, go big.
26:44Push yourself beyond your comfort zone.
26:47That's what avant-garde is all about.
26:48Everybody, I'm hugely impressed.
26:51So, win or lose, let's rejoicify.
26:54Yeah!
26:56Bye.
26:57Bye.
26:58Oh, I hope it works.
26:59Tomorrow, two of you go home and get to watch me in the finale.
27:04Guys, this is it.
27:16I woke up feeling like a wicked bitch.
27:18Oh, you look pretty much so much better, right?
27:25I like this more.
27:26Hi, everybody.
27:27Hi, Christian.
27:28You have an hour and a half left.
27:30That's it?
27:31Oh, my God.
27:31Uh-huh.
27:33It's a moment.
27:34What if you cut it off just, like, leave this, but cut this off so it can...
27:38It can bellow.
27:39This is making it heavy.
27:40Wow.
27:42She's very Victoria's Secret Angel.
27:44Uh-huh.
27:45All right, models to hair and makeup.
27:47Let's go.
27:50Perfect.
27:51Gorgeous.
27:52The lighter shades so her eyes could pop maybe, like, from the corner out.
27:55Nude lip and lashes.
27:59You should fix the inside of this garment because that's gonna get you home.
28:03Click your heels, but I don't think you want to go there.
28:05How much time do we have left?
28:07Ten minutes.
28:07Oh.
28:11This is it.
28:11Only three out of five are going to the finale.
28:14I want it.
28:15That's it.
28:16Time to head to the runway.
28:19That's it, baby.
28:23Hello.
28:25Welcome to the runway.
28:26The final five.
28:28Yes.
28:29As you know, in fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out.
28:32But tonight, two, unfortunately, will be out.
28:35For this challenge, you had to create an avant-garde look based on the themes from the new film Wicked
28:42For Good.
28:43And please tell me, what was it like having Paul's input and looking at your designs?
28:47Oh, my God.
28:48It was extremely magical.
28:51He's also right over there.
28:52Hello.
28:53Hi, Paul.
28:53You're here.
28:55Thank you so much, Paul, for all the guidance that you've given the designers.
28:59Absolutely.
29:00My pleasure.
29:00Let's meet the judges.
29:02CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Law Roach.
29:07Yes, Law.
29:07Hello.
29:09Editor of Elle Magazine, Nina Garcia.
29:13And my friend, supermodel, actress, producer, fashion diva, and wicked fan, Tyra Banks.
29:19Vee Banks herself.
29:25Miss Ty Tyra Banks.
29:27Ah!
29:28Let's start the show.
29:29I love my love.
29:36I love my love.
29:39She was morphing into the dress and the dress is morphing into the hat.
29:43It's gorge.
29:44Stunning.
29:45My vision has come to life to perfection.
29:48Such an iconic moment.
29:49Uva gorge.
30:00I've accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish for this look.
30:04She looks so, so elegant and so avant-garde.
30:10It's making me feel so proud of myself.
30:17I'm happy seeing this green goddess walk down the runway.
30:21My look does not have sparkle.
30:23It does not have that much volume.
30:25But it's me.
30:26Definitely me.
30:27And I'm obsessed.
30:28I am hopeful that it's still enough to get me to the finale.
30:37Seeing my look walk on the runway, I feel the spiral detail is so beautiful.
30:44And the movement, it's so powerful.
30:47I mean, the color is so dramatic.
30:50And I'm really, really happy with the outcome of the dress.
30:58This is all so magical to be able to see my look just fly down the runway.
31:07It's sparkling under the light.
31:08The lines are gorgeous.
31:10It looks expensive.
31:11It looks unique.
31:12It looks so avant-garde.
31:15And I think that I did myself so proud today.
31:18It looks so good.
31:25This is going to be so hard today.
31:27Oh my gosh.
31:29Designers, please step onto the runway.
31:34We've scored your designs and we want to talk to all of you.
31:37Jesus, we're going to start with you and your model.
31:40I really wanted to just create something very powerful.
31:44I wanted to do a heart to incorporate the paint of Antonio's fabric.
31:50Because to me, it represents the love that Elphaba has for Glinda.
31:54But for me, it's the love that I have for my twin brother.
31:58Avant-garde means being innovative.
32:01Being experimental.
32:04And that all came through.
32:07It really is pushing the boundaries.
32:11Well done.
32:13Oh, Jesus.
32:15It's okay to be emotional.
32:17I think it's really, really, really beautiful.
32:20Now, the shoes came out really draggy to me.
32:24But you know what?
32:24This is a runway look.
32:26This is the avant-garde moment when you can be outrageous.
32:30It's going to hit Nina first.
32:32She's going to photograph it.
32:33No, it's going to hit me first.
32:34Because I'm going to get it right off the red carpet.
32:36Oh, you're going to fight.
32:36Oh, no.
32:36We're going to get it.
32:37Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
32:38Yes, baby.
32:38We get it first.
32:40I get it first, babe.
32:41Depends on your celebrity.
32:43Sorry.
32:43And we know who my celebrity is.
32:44All right.
32:45Nina came back feisty tonight.
32:47Yes, ma'am.
32:48I know.
32:49That's what you say every time I come here.
32:50Whatever.
32:51Jesus.
32:52Hi.
32:53I don't see two days.
32:54I see two months.
32:55Yes.
32:56I did love the look.
32:57It came out and I was like, wow.
32:59The sparkles, how you place them all.
33:02I don't know.
33:02It just gives it this kind of texture in a way.
33:05It's divine.
33:07Thank you so much.
33:08OK, Antonio, let's get your model out.
33:12I knew that I was going to do a pink dress inspired by Glinda.
33:15And what really came to my mind is the poppy flower in the movie.
33:20I love the dress.
33:21I think the dress is beautiful.
33:23Does it read to me immediately wicked?
33:25No.
33:26I'm seeing a little bit more Vegas.
33:29The construction on the actual dress is really beautiful.
33:31Let's talk about the back because that's what I'm most troubled with.
33:36That's a disaster and it is not defying gravity.
33:39It's bad.
33:41Tell the truth.
33:42It's saving the devil.
33:43It's like a bad piñata.
33:48I know that deep inside you know this is catastrophic.
33:55Antonio, I know that deep inside you know this is catastrophic.
34:02The back of the dress looks really unfinished.
34:04I see all your seam works.
34:05It is a bit messy from the back, but I do love the volume.
34:09This brought me back I feel like to the beginning.
34:13So even though I was rising to the top, I feel like I'm back square one.
34:17So I'm shutting down.
34:21I think the dress is beautiful and I actually like the flower.
34:27I want it.
34:28You can have it Tyra.
34:29Thank you Antonio.
34:30Hi Vijay.
34:31Hi Heidi.
34:32Let's bring out your model.
34:35Wicked for Good is about friendship being torn apart.
34:38So I bought red silk and I literally shredded it apart.
34:43And Paul mentioned that one of the most important design elements for Wicked is the spiral.
34:51The deconstruction of wrapping that boning and making it look shredded looks fantastic.
34:58The shoe is spectacular, kind of took my breath away.
35:03There was a lot of creativity to it.
35:05I really loved it.
35:06I think it's beautiful.
35:07I think it's avant-garde.
35:09And then the shoe looks clunky.
35:11Does it read Wicked to me?
35:13No.
35:13The red totally threw me off.
35:15Had this been in green or black, you could have told the same story and it would have made more sense
35:21for the movie. But I do think that you did make something really interesting.
35:26I used to teach branding and there are certain things with branding that are non-negotiables.
35:31And one of those is color. So for me, that's like a big miss, like a huge miss.
35:37Thank you, VJ.
35:38Thank you. Thank you so much.
35:39Okay, Ethan, let's bring out your model.
35:42This could have easily been a $50,000 couture dress and you ruined it with those underwear.
35:49That is one of my biggest pet peeves on the red carpet when it's the wrong underwear.
35:54But it's fab. I love the addition of the ostrich feathers. It also is Elphaba with the cape.
36:01And the end of the first movie when Glenda threw that cloak around her and she flew off.
36:06I think you did an incredible job.
36:08It's gorge. I mean, you definitely took a risk by hiding her face because it could have been like
36:13they either hate it or love it. I happen to love it. You know, it's like, ah.
36:19What I like the most about your work is when you play with these opposites, right?
36:24So here is a sense of modesty, but at the same time of sexiness.
36:30I was just blown away. I think it's very stunning. This is unique. This is special.
36:35Thank you, Ethan.
36:37Thank you all so much.
36:38You can leave the runway.
36:39Thank you, baby.
36:40Okay, Polonia, let's bring out your avant-garde look.
36:44Paul was explaining his inspiration. He went to nature to see all the textures and the colors.
36:50And I was inspired deeply because I'm a plant person. But since this is avant-garde,
36:55I had to go a little bit bigger. I'm so torn here. I love the gouches.
36:59However, I don't know about that tail. It's giving me a little crocodile tail,
37:05and it's not even even. So there's a...
37:07Well, yeah, that speaks to nature and the unevenness in nature.
37:10It's supposed to be representative of moss.
37:11Okay, but does it give you a little crocodile alligator tail?
37:14To me, personally, no, it doesn't.
37:16I love it. I think there's different levels of avant-garde.
37:20Right.
37:21There's avant-garde couture, and there's avant-garde street fashion.
37:25I think it's absolutely stunning.
37:27My issue is everybody else took a chance, and I think this was pretty safe.
37:33In your opinion, what you've seen so far?
37:35That's not helping you, babe.
37:38Really? You don't think this is you?
37:39I think this is you.
37:40I'm uncomfortable putting this on the rack. I love it.
37:42But this is, to me, this is, like, big.
37:44Well, you're going to have to be uncomfortable a lot in this business.
37:48That's the name of the game. Fashion is all about the new.
37:53It's safe.
37:54Delania, be quiet.
37:56I have never yelled at a girl like this before.
37:58I was rooted for you. We were all rooted for you.
38:01God.
38:02Is it that serious?
38:03Oh, bitch, it is.
38:05That was iconic.
38:06Now, let me critique you seriously.
38:09I actually agree with Tyra.
38:10Rick Owens is considered to be one of the greatest
38:13avant-garde designers of our generation.
38:15And for me, this is what that feels like.
38:18I do think it's avant-garde.
38:19And I do think it's really beautiful.
38:21It's the thing of not being able to take the critiques
38:24that loses me with you every single time.
38:27Because if I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything.
38:30I always say, like, cuss us out in your head.
38:32Right.
38:34I'm sorry.
38:35I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
38:39If I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything.
38:41I always say, like, cuss us out in your head.
38:44Right.
38:46I'm sorry.
38:47I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
38:48I won't.
38:49That's OK.
38:50Sorry.
38:51I gave yours a high score.
38:54I knew immediately that it was yours.
38:56I also did see Alphaba.
38:59She looks modern also.
39:00You know, this is now.
39:03Thank you, Belania.
39:05There's five of you, but unfortunately,
39:07only three of you will make it to the big finale.
39:11Antonio, should you be in the finale?
39:14Please tell us what two designers
39:16do you think should come with you?
39:18Oh, I think you say,
39:20I would love to see my brother do a collection.
39:24And I would love to see Ethan do a collection.
39:28I've been so proud of what he's been doing in the competition.
39:31Belania, who would you take with you?
39:34God, I would go with the two twins.
39:40So you'll send BJ and Ethan home?
39:43Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
39:45No, that's coming from your heart.
39:47I think it's very brave.
39:49Ethan, what about you?
39:52This is tough.
39:56The twins.
39:58Throughout the whole competition,
40:00I have volleyed so many ideas and my work has grown.
40:04So much.
40:05Like they've been just watering the seeds the whole time.
40:07Oh, that's nice.
40:10Hey, hey, Suze.
40:11I would, of course, like to see my brother be in the finale with me
40:15because I am so proud of what he's done and what he's learned in this competition.
40:19And then Ethan, I saw the growth in him through this competition.
40:24I would love for top four because I think Belania found who she truly is as a designer.
40:30I truly don't know if BJ really knows what her DNA is in the competition.
40:37The strategy is they don't want me to be in the top three because they know that
40:41if I'm in the top three, I have a strong chance of winning this.
40:46So who would you take with you?
40:47I will definitely take Ethan and Belania because I think that these two people are kind
40:55and I think that we need the money more than them.
41:00What makes you think that?
41:01It's hard to say yes to speak.
41:03That is so stupid.
41:05I like to work with people who are kind and humble.
41:09Are you saying that we're not kind and humble?
41:10Oh, my God.
41:11You're the one that started all the drama in this competition, BJ.
41:14If you really want to go there, because you are not the humble person.
41:18You were starting drama between everybody in this competition and you know that.
41:23So don't stand right here and look like you're the innocent girl.
41:27Period.
41:28Between you and your brother, who's the better designer?
41:30I'm not going to answer that long.
41:31Why not?
41:32I'm not going to answer that.
41:33You saw the hearts on the dresses.
41:34It's a competition.
41:35Please don't do that.
41:36I mean, he was always on top and I was on the bottom.
41:38So I'm proud of him.
41:39Right.
41:39So you think he's the better designer?
41:41Oh, I mean, yeah.
41:42If you want me to say.
41:43Okay, great.
41:44That's all I'm trying to get to.
41:45It's okay.
41:46He said it.
41:46I have different family values as maybe you should one day too.
41:50It's fine.
41:51There can only be one winner at the end of the day.
41:53Yeah, the best winner should win.
41:55Yeah, but let's get there.
41:56We have a lot to talk about.
41:58You can leave the runway.
41:59Thank you so much.
42:01Wow, it got heated in here.
42:07That was really wrong for you to say that.
42:09Please don't.
42:10See, that's what I'm saying.
42:11Please don't.
42:12Kind and humble, right?
42:13We are humble.
42:14Oh, my God.
42:16I don't even want to be in this room with them.
42:18They're attacking me.
42:19Let's not say that.
42:19Be kind and humble because you're the one with the big mouth.
42:22Let's not talk.
42:23How about that?
42:23Get her out of the room if she's not comfortable.
42:25She's saying that we're not humble?
42:26How am I not humble?
42:28You're attacking me.
42:29Oh, dear God.
42:30I'm not doing this.
42:31I'm going to go.
42:32No.
42:33Nope.
42:34I'm not going to stand there and have them humiliate me.
42:36I didn't come here for that.
42:37No, mama.
42:38Hey, girl.
42:39Calm down.
42:39Nope.
42:40And stay here.
42:40I made my decision.
42:42Girl, you could.
42:43They're not going to humiliate me, especially this bitch.
42:47And catch me if you can't touch me.
42:49I'm leaving.
42:50Antonio, relaxate.
42:51I'm leaving.
42:53He is going to leave, and I know my brother.
42:55Because he's not going to be up there and be humiliated, OK?
42:58And that was really wrong, BJ.
43:00And you know that.
43:01What the ?
43:02Law, you really went there.
43:04How dare you try to put my brother and I against each other?
43:07I'm not going back in.
43:08And BJ is being disrespectful.
43:12I'm not going to stand there with that bitch, BJ,
43:14saying that we're not humble and that we don't need the money.
43:17She doesn't know my financials.
43:18Who the is she?
43:21I'm going.
