00:00Last month, Bedford workers were given hope for the future, when the Premier announced
00:06a preferred buyer for the financially troubled business.
00:09After intense negotiations and a demonstration, today that sale was confirmed in a vote by
00:15Bedford's creditors, who've agreed to transfer the business to NDIS provider the Disability
00:20Trust.
00:21We're happy with the outcome today, we just need to follow it through and make sure when
00:25the money's in the bank then the job's done.
00:27Had the deal not been approved, Bedford would have been liquidated, and jobs with it.
00:32It's been promised around 1,100 employees will be transferred across to the Trust, including
00:37800 supported workers.
00:39But the union is worried there'll be more redundancies.
00:41Bedford had a number of linked businesses and it's unclear what will happen to them.
00:46The union says about 100 employees were made redundant after Bedford collapsed into administration
00:51in November.
00:52They're owed thousands each.
00:54The union believes today's vote will now see them paid their entitlements.
00:58I think people are relieved that it's been done before Christmas.
01:01Obviously our saying is until the money's in the bank, it's not resolved.
01:04So there's still a number of months to go.
01:08The transaction is expected to be completed by January or February.
