Mikel Arteta has backed under-fire Arsenal forward Viktor Gyokeres to go to another level during the second half of the season. The form of Gyokeres has been a continuous debate since his summer arrival from Sporting Libson, with the Swedish attacker only able to score six times for his new club.Despite being five games without a goal since the Swede returned from a hamstring injury, the Gunners boss believes there are positive signs of a better understanding being developed between the 28-year-old and his team-mates.

00:00Well, I think the level of attention on him hasn't changed since he signed to today.
00:15It's normal.
00:16You know, everybody was so excited to bring Anain into the club.
00:20We did it.
00:21We brought a player with an incredible goal-scoring record that had to adapt to the league.
00:25He had no preseason.
00:27The first few weeks was difficult because physically he wasn't in his best state.
00:31And he's a player that needs that, like any other player in this league almost, to perform
00:35at that level.
00:36Then he kicked on.
00:37I think he had a really good period and got injured.
00:39And now he's back to his bed.
00:41I saw a lot of positive things in the last two games that he's done.
00:45We need to continue to tweak and understand him a little bit better in certain situations
00:50and he needs to do the same.
00:52But that's about time and we have full support for him.
