00:00I so, if you think about the great mediators throughout history, this is really Cutter's moment.
00:13Justice in action beyond promises to progress isn't just a theme, it's a challenge.
00:18From the opening ceremony of this year's Doha Forum, there was a palpable drive to turn big ideas into real-world results.
00:26Leaders from around the world gathered in Doha to take on the most pressing global challenges,
00:31from conflict resolution and economic inequality, to humanitarian crises and a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.
00:38What gave me hope is to see all those policy makers in one room, in Doha Forum, discussing these kinds of pressing issues.
00:48And this is what we are trying to promote and to encourage everyone to do,
00:55is to meet, to have dialogue and to go out of this Doha Forum with very good results and continue their partnership in the future.
01:06Well, this is my first forum here in Doha, and I'm positively impressed by, first of all,
01:14the size of the event is one of the biggest I have ever been to, but also the quality of participants.
01:24I think it's important in these global events that you have different angles coming in,
01:31and clearly Doha is a hub for bringing together different viewpoints,
01:38and I'm very happy to contribute to the European viewpoint of the whole business.
01:42Many senior diplomats and international officials praise Qatar's growing reputation as an impartial mediator,
01:48grounded in international law, focused on protecting civilians, and paving the way for negotiated solutions.
01:55We see Qatar's growing role in the Middle East as well.
01:59I mean, all the international mediation that they're doing when it comes to Sudan, but also Gaza,
02:08also Ukrainian children, for example, or the Great Lakes.
02:12So we see that we have a lot of things where we can work together, of course, not only on peace and security matters,
02:20but also other matters like trade, economic relations, innovation, technology that we can build up.
02:28During the forum, the Qatar Fund for Development announced 18 new strategic agreements worth nearly half a billion euros
02:35to support development programs that will benefit more than 4.7 million people worldwide.
02:41The big gap is 88% of Africa don't have electricity. This is not acceptable.
02:46You know, you cannot, we cannot create a good economy. We cannot create, you know,
02:50for our cultures, how supply waters without electricity. We cannot have good education, good health.
02:56You know, there are major things that we need to tackle, you know, on the big scale infrastructures that we can support it.
03:02And additional to that, you know, how can we work on the subscomponent, education, health, economic, economic empowerment.
03:09This is our focus now. The future is looking for how we can support this major things on the electricity and energy,
03:16you know, because this is need a lot of support, you know, from our partners.
03:20For the first time, the forum also hosted a live onstage podcast produced by Doha Debates,
03:26a global platform focused on constructive dialogue using majlis-style conversations to find common ground.
03:33So when people think of debate, they actually now think of the talking heads on TV who yell at each other
03:39and who try to score points against each other. It's like a boxing match. It's a gladiator fight.
03:44Doha Debates is entirely against this. We're based on the majlis-style of debate.
03:49The idea is to seek truth. So you and I may disagree. We may have very, very, very existential disagreements.
03:56How are we going to address those? We're going to address them by respecting each other as human beings
04:00and having a meaningful, deep-seated conversation that explores the topic from multiple issues.
04:09Much of this year's discussion centered on the Gaza conflict
04:13and Qatar's mediation efforts, with several speakers calling for deeper recognition of Doha's role
04:18and greater engagement from European institutions.
04:22With all the conflicts that we had, with all the events that we had during the year,
04:28this Doha forum basically just bring us the solutions, bring us the conclusions.
04:36And, yeah, I do believe that the partnerships that we signed this year with the European Union
04:43could be a successful one.
04:46From mediation tables to development pledges, the message here is clear.
04:52Progress only happens when conversations turn into commitments.
04:56for the movement itself to the eastern be будетagan, the other работу on Carte
04:57for the wave of human beings.
04:59Yeah.
04:59For the moment, please.
05:03If you're in the ahead and be registered, please don't leave поверхness.
05:05You watch the 상 backups and you let us know,
05:07need to have a strategy toiform ether beings
05:09for the link to theças underneath the image that you should be on.
05:11You know, that's what you should have done with.
