00:00as many of you already know jabot has paused our normal operations we have suspended a part of our
00:14online presence and are now reorganizing several of our departments in an effort to better serve
00:20our customers I want to emphasize though that this pause is temporary we will be back up and
00:28running in the very near future Chabot is a family company always has been and in that spirit we have
00:36always thought of our customers and our employees as an extension of that family to that end
00:44throughout this holiday season we fully intend to honor all our commitments to our staff and ask
00:53our customers to be patient during this internal restructuring thank you for your time thank you
01:01for your continued support of Chabot and Chabot products oh long on promises short on details
01:12maybe this will buy us enough time to head off Victor's next attack
01:16Victor uh this is the third message I have left for you I'm starting to get very very angry I don't
01:27like being used I don't like being ignored I came through on my end of the deal now you come through
01:36on yours please call me back let me guess Victor's stiffing you on the deal you made with him

02:07Summer! Hi, it's Kyle.
02:30I want to let you know that the plane full of Christmas presents
02:34arrived for Harrison, so thanks for that.
02:38I know you miss him. He misses you too, but he'll be thrilled with everything you got him.
02:43Hey, um, there's something I need to talk to you about when you have a few minutes.
02:50I don't know how up to speed you are with everything that's been happening at Jabot, but, um,
02:56it's serious. I don't know how it'll affect Marchetti moving forward.
02:59Victor, he's coming after us. Hard.
03:03And the family's dealing with it, but I really think it would make a difference to have you more
03:07involved. Anyway, um, call me back when you get this. Thanks. Bye.
03:14Did you get a hold of Summer? I just left her a message.
03:19Well, I think it's a good idea that your father had to get her involved,
03:22but it's a shot in the dark that it'll do any good.
03:26Summer is Victor's granddaughter. Her company is directly affected by his attacks. She's already
03:31involved. Yes, but to enlist her to get Victor to ease up?
03:35I'm also going to suggest she talk to Phyllis about getting her help.
03:39Ah, yes. To get her to steal that AI program back. Counting on Phyllis. Another shot in the dark.
03:45A couple shots in the dark are better than no shot at all.
03:47You know, Kyle, sometimes I wonder if that's where we are right now. With no shot at all.
03:56And did you get the statement? Okay, I want that immediately circulated to every press outlet on your
04:01list. Yeah, including Newman Media. Now, Victor thinks he's got us behind the eight ball. This is our
04:08first chance to get out ahead of this story. Now, we got to blanket this thing. Be positive and strong.
04:16Now, here is the message. This is a bold move to strengthen the company. We are not hiding. I want
04:24you and the rest of the press department to carry this message forward. Exactly.
04:30Good morning, Jack. Merry Christmas. Seriously. You have the gall to wish me a Merry Christmas
04:48after what you and Victor are trying to do to my family's business. I'm sorry. Okay, I knew you would
04:56be upset. Upset does not begin to describe what I am feeling right now. How could you? How could you
05:04in good conscience release those reports on Jabot knowing why we did what we did? Not to mention who's
05:13responsible. I thought we were friends, Adam.
05:27We are not dead yet, Mom. No, I know we're not. I just, I woke up this morning with a sense of
05:33impending doom. And of course, I can't let your father see that. Not when he's so determined that
05:37we can beat this and he's out there rallying the troops. He's coming at this from all sides. I
05:42appreciate that. Thanks. Dad asked me about another strategy. Oh? He asked me to suggest to Claire to
05:50put pressure on Victor to get him to stop. I thought about it, but I'm not going to. No,
05:56that would have been tricky. Right? Things are complicated enough without throwing that into the
06:00mix and she might think I was using her. Well, and you would be, except for a very good reason.
06:05No, no, I think it was smart not to involve her and your dad will understand. Where is he anyway?
06:11I saw him earlier. He was getting ready to record his rah-rah speech to the press and the staff.
06:18How did he seem to you? He was locked and loaded, ready to fight. Well, that's your dad. When he gets hit,
06:24he gets back up. I wish I could share his confidence that we can turn things around,
06:29but when Phyllis Summers is one of our strategies, it's really hard for me to get there.
06:34Phyllis can steal the software. She has done it before. Yeah, so we assume. But then even if she
06:39agrees to steal it back, then what happens to it afterwards? We could promise her the moon,
06:44but that doesn't mean there's not someone else out there who could promise her more.
06:48And Victor? Or someone worse, if that's possible. That's why I think it's important to get Summer
06:54involved. Phyllis loves her kids. I know that much. Uh, but Phyllis loves herself more. That's what it
07:02all comes down to. At the end of the day, Phyllis looks out for herself, first and foremost. So I'm
07:08sorry. I'm sorry. It's just really hard for me to get excited about betting our future on her.
07:13Wow. You think you have this all figured out, don't you, Phyllis? I think I'm getting there.
07:18You know what? For your information, um, what I do and who I do it with is none of your damn
07:23business. And second, I'm so tired of everyone thinking that I'm doing secret deals with Victor
07:29Newman. So, if you'll excuse me. Seriously? You're gonna stop me from leaving? So what did they offer you?
07:35Because Straub at Newman Enterprises? Your own company? Your own version of a Bronte? It didn't
07:43work out for Audra, did it? No, it didn't. I'm not Audra. No, no, you are not. But you could end up in the
07:51same place. Jobless, friendless, helpless. I don't want that for you. You're smart enough to know when
08:00Victor's playing you, Phyllis. Are you gonna let me know when this lecture is over so I don't die of
08:05boredom? Did you honestly think that you would steal the AI program for Victor and then?
08:12What's the expression? Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me 12 times, then who's a fool?
08:21Okay, I'm done with this conversation. Phyllis, you've been had, Phyllis. You know it's true,
08:28okay? You can deny it all you want. All right, Phyllis, wait. Phyllis, please, wait.
08:37I know how this feels, okay? I've been there many, many times.
08:42Victor treats you like a disposable rag. He wrings out every last drop out of you and then he throws
08:49you away. I'm here to offer you a deal. One that you can actually trust. One that you can count on.
08:58What kind of deal?
09:04You ever heard the expression generational wealth?
09:09That's the kind of deal I'm talking about.
09:15Jack, I understand that you were upset, okay? I would be too if I was in your situation. But
09:22we have an obligation to report the news and I'm sorry to say what's going on with Jabot right now
09:27is news. Wow, you have been listening to Victor's BS long enough. You might actually believe that.
09:34I do believe it. Was there any part of the story we didn't get right? Because Jabot has been hiding
09:39assets and pulling the plug on divisions. Yes, and all of that adds up to a business that's in trouble. So
09:45you can try to spin it any way you want, but those are just the facts. You wouldn't know a fact if it
09:50came up and bit you in the ass. Check. Both of you know why we had to do what we did. My family's
09:57company is under attack by the head of your family and you, Adam, as CEO of Newman Media, are just the
10:05tip of the spear. Oh, I'm sorry you feel that way. That's it? That's all you have to say? That's some
10:13lame apology. How long have you and I been friends, Adam? A long time. Which is why you should know
10:22this isn't personal. When you went back to Newman Media the second time, you told me one of the
10:32conditions was that you would not be used as Victor's battering ram against me. What happened to that?
10:37I know you want to pretend this is business as usual. You and I both know everything with Victor
10:44is personal. This is no different. This is a stab in the back from a friend, Adam,
10:52and I will never forgive you for this.
11:03Has it ever occurred to you that these attacks affect more than just me and my family? There
11:08are hundreds of Jabot employees that could well lose their jobs right before the holiday. They
11:14won't be able to afford the gifts they just bought. They can't enjoy their time with their family with
11:18unemployment hanging over their heads and yet here you are out enjoying a shopping spree filling
11:25your bags where there's your Merry Christmas. Jack, I don't take any great pleasure in any of this.
11:31Then do something about it. It's not too late. You have always made an issue of wanting to be your
11:37own man of getting out from under Victor's shadow so prove it. Write a retraction. Better than that,
11:44write an apology. You can't expect Adam to do it. Why not? It is the right thing to do. You both know
11:49that. That's what bothers me. You know that and you won't do anything about it because you're afraid
11:57of what Victor might do to you. You might lose your titles. You might lose your toys. Jack, that's not
12:03fair. We have no ill will towards you or your company. We certainly weren't part of some plot to
12:09put people out of work during the holidays. The story was... It's Victor's company. We work for
12:17him. You don't have to. You've both proven yourself in the outside world. You've both had successes.
12:24Come to think of it, you've both done some pretty shady things in the past. I guess you've chosen
12:28what side you're going to be on. Listen to me. Don't take shots at Chelsea. I am the one that published
12:33this story. Not Chelsea. Not Victor. So I'll give you a chance to tell your side of the story.
12:39I'll set up an interview and you can have any reporter that you want, Jack. Oh, you want a comment?
12:45It's up to you. Go to hell. There's your comment. I will burn Jabot down to the ground myself rather
12:54than let Victor destroy my father's company. You hear me? I will never, ever give your father that
13:01satisfaction. Have a lovely holiday, you too.
13:18I know Phyllis is not exactly trustworthy. That's an understatement. But let's face it,
13:22we're running out of good options. Desperate people doing desperate things. At least by bringing Summer
13:27into the mix, it'll make Phyllis think about which side she wants to be on. Say what you want about
13:33her. But she always sides with her kids. All right, so here's the plan. We pull on Phyllis's
13:39conscience and her heart strings, assuming she has either one of those. Phyllis has worked really
13:44hard to get Summer and Daniel to trust her again. It could work. It could. But you don't think so?
13:49No, no. Here's the problem with this whole theory, Kyle. Phyllis stole the AI program and gave it to
13:56Victor. No matter what she says, we can all agree on that, right? Absolutely. Which means she's already
14:01extracted a king's ransom from him. Okay, so we offer her more. And then what's, what's Victor going
14:07to do? What, is he going to stand back and applaud and say, well played? No, he's going to top whatever
14:13we offered her because that's how much he hates your father. And that would be a win-win for Phyllis.
14:19Exactly. And you know what? I'm not buying this whole motherly love angle either.
14:26When Phyllis agreed to do this deed for Victor, she had to know that he would immediately go after
14:31Jabot and therefore Marchetti would be collateral damage. I mean, Phyllis is a hot mess, but she's not
14:38stupid. She had to know that from the beginning. So where was her concern for Summer then?
14:45All right, Billy, what's your pitch?
14:51Can we get a table? Get a little privacy?
14:54Yeah.
15:06Make it fast. I have some business to do.
15:10That's right. You're waiting for Victor to call you back.
15:12Okay. This conversation is over.
15:14Okay. I'll get straight to the point.
15:19Phyllis, I know that you stole the AI program from Cain and you gave it to Victor. You don't have to
15:25deny it, okay? I know it for a fact. I also know, I have to hear in the last few seconds of your
15:31conversation with Victor that he's reneging on the deal you made with him.
15:36It's a lot of guessing without anything to back it up.
15:38Hmm. Well, let's just pretend that I'm right and see where that gets us.
15:45Here's the deal. You stole the AI program from Cain. I'm hoping you can steal it back
15:52from Victor. As a bonus, you get to lay a slap to the face of the man who screwed you over many,
15:58many times. I'm not hearing an offer. What does generational wealth really mean to you,
16:08Billy? It means you can name your price. Pick the highest number you want. It's a deal of lifetime,
16:15Phyllis. Don't screw it up.
16:30You okay?
16:30I guess. No. What about you?
16:40That was not fun to hear. No, it wasn't. I've never seen Jack so angry.
16:49Yeah, but he did not have the right to come after you like that. I mean, you are the one who's been
16:55lobbying against attacks like this. Yeah, but Jack doesn't know that. Despite all my lobbying,
17:00my name's still all over those stories, too. I don't know. I mean, maybe I should have told him
17:06that this was coming. I should have given him a heads up. I don't think it would have made a
17:09difference, Adam. The result would have been the same. This is just, this is what I've always been
17:15afraid of, Chelsea. This is why I've always pushed back against Victor when he's trying to drag me into
17:21his rivalry with Jack, this vendetta that he's had. I thought that we were picking the lesser of
17:27two evils by reporting on Jabot tanking. It wasn't going to be spreading lies. We were just going to
17:33be reporting on a story that Jack himself set in motion. Yeah, that's how I've been trying to
17:37rationalize it, too. But if that were the case, then why do we both feel so awful about it?
17:43I feel bad for Jack. I really do. But I mean, what choice do we have? We're not going to control
17:50Victor what he wants or what he thinks. So all we can do is report the news. And
17:54that's what we did. Adam, that's not entirely true.
18:02What do you mean? I mean, it's also news
18:08that Victor was using a very dangerous, probably illegal
18:13police. And we didn't report that. If we were really being fair and unbiased here,
18:22we would have printed the real story, which is that Jabot was able to defend itself against a
18:26destructive cyber attack. That was the real news story here. But we didn't. Okay, we ignored it and
18:33we pushed it aside because it wasn't a part of Victor's narrative. Adam, there's a reason why we're
18:39both feeling so guilty right now. And that is. I just want you to know that I'm not acknowledging
18:50stealing Kane's AI software. You can play it however you like. On the other hand,
18:58taking it from Victor, if he actually has it, is a wonderful, wonderful thing, isn't it?
19:04He's taking it to the man that screwed us over so many times. I want to ask you if the Abbots were to
19:12to get that software in their hands, what would they do with it?
19:17We're not the noons with the Abbots. We're going to blow it up. We're going to destroy it,
19:21so it can't be used against anyone ever again. Okay. I gotta think about this.
19:27Okay, but just don't think too long, okay? Because the deal may go away.
19:34Really? You're bluffing. You have a lousy hand, Billy. Your family is scared. That's why you're
19:39having this conversation with me. You're in no position to give me an ultimatum.
19:44That's what I mean by go away. If she both fails,
19:48you get nothing. Nothing from Victor and nothing from us.
19:59We know what that equals.
20:06I'll hear from you soon. Good morning, Daniel. Lauren.
20:10Do I even want to know what that was all about?
20:22I can't argue that Phyllis should have figured there will be fallout for Summer with an attack
20:26against Jabot. And did it stop her? No. No, but Phyllis isn't a planner. She reacts impulsively to
20:32whatever's in front of her, and when it all goes to hell, she just tries to put back the pieces.
20:36Oh, and how's that working out for her so far? I know. She never seems to learn her lesson. But,
20:41Mom, if it's money she's after, Dad'll go to the limit. He'll give her anything she asks for.
20:45Well, he sent Billy off with a blank check to negotiate, though I doubt that will do any good.
20:50Well, what do you mean? For Phyllis, this isn't just about money or power. What she wants, what she
20:57craves more than anything else in the whole wide world is to be the center of attention. And look where
21:03she is right now, with the two most powerful families in town vying for her services. For
21:08someone like Phyllis, that's a drug. Yeah. And if she gives up the software,
21:13the attention goes somewhere else. And that would be like a death to her.
21:18I know this woman, Kyle. I have had more than my fair share of encounters with Phyllis where she's been
21:26more than willing to blow herself up and everything around her, just to stay in the spotlight.
21:32It's sick and it's sad, but it's who she is. So what you're saying is she could actually refuse
21:39our offer no matter how big it is. I can't rule it out. We are really up against it.
21:44I think I just discovered another way to stop Victor.
22:04Oh, please, Daniel, please, please not this again.
22:08Well, you know what? I will stop asking questions when you stop acting like a person who's hiding.
22:13So you have no idea what Billy and I were just talking about, do you?
22:17So you're doing it again. What am I doing again?
22:20You're acting all squirrely. Squirrely?
22:23Like a squirrel, like a rodent. And paranoid.
22:27No, I did not overhear what you and Billy were talking about. I didn't have to overhear you.
22:32It was pretty clear that the two of you weren't talking about hockey score.
22:35Oh, you're so snarky, aren't you? You add that to your sudden,
22:39strange interest in what happened with Jabot last night. And it's hard not to think that
22:44you're up to your neck and whatever's going on. Oh, you're like a broken record. Seriously,
22:49all of your suspicions of me and your accusations about what am I up to. Honestly, Daniel,
22:55this hurts me. This hurts my heart. Should I cue the violence? That's not funny. I don't like you
23:05right now. You don't like me. Do you think that I like being suspicious of my own mother? Because I don't.
23:11I really, really don't. But I have seen you in action.
23:15I can't ignore what my gut is telling me. And your actions, they're not helping. Mom,
23:23I know that you have been through it this past year. I know that better than anyone. And I,
23:28I feel personally like you still haven't dealt with everything that happened to you and Sharon
23:33at the clinic. I feel like you haven't dealt with the horrible things that you saw. And all I'm saying
23:38is just, just take a step back. If there is some kind of battle going on between the Newmans and
23:45the Abbots, just stay out of it. You are being so dramatic, aren't you? Daniel.
23:54I know I've given you reason to worry about me in the past. I know that. But we've moved on.
24:00This is now. This is today. For the last time, I don't have any secrets from you. I don't have any.
24:09Okay? I swear to you, I'm not lying. Believe it, don't believe it, but it's the truth.
24:18I know what Jack said was harsh. And it wasn't easy to hear. Okay, but we can't let this throw us
24:25off our game. I mean, this is our job. We work in media. Yeah, and it can be ugly and cutthroat
24:33when you have to pick a side. I know all about it. But Anna, we knew the true story,
24:37and we chose not to report it. Yeah, well, we work for a company that my father owns.
24:42So, of course, we're going to report that he has the AI program.
24:47We might as well just sign our own pink slips.
24:49Chelsea, do you think that Billy and Sally are preparing their first big story on the fall of Jebo?
24:57Maybe. Maybe they would have put a different spin on it. No, there's not a chance.
25:01And it wouldn't even be spin. It would just be outright lies that Jebo is fine,
25:05and they're not even trouble at all. How would that be any different from what we just did?
25:12Chelsea, I know that you hate this. I hate this too.
25:20Do you remember when you started and Victor wanted to go after Billy?
25:23I took your side. I can't always do that. I can't always say no to Victor.
25:35Even when you know he's wrong?
25:39The world can be an ugly place.
25:42And like it or not, there's going to be times, as a media company,
25:47when we're forced to contribute to that, it just goes with the territory.
25:53We can't always be the nice guys.
25:56This is different, Adam. This is our friend,
25:59whose business may never recover from what we did to him.
26:03So, you can try to rationalize it all you want, but nothing's going to change that.
26:09Well then, I don't know what to tell you.
26:11Okay? We both knew what we were signing on for, and we know who we were working for.
26:17At what point have we gone too far, Adam? Because I'm getting close to being at that point.
26:25Are you?
26:33Where's Jack?
26:34Uh, he stepped out for a few minutes.
26:35Did you speak to Pellis?
26:37Yes, I gave her our pitch.
26:38And?
26:39She said she was going to think about it.
26:41Oh God, I hate that woman.
26:43She's having a hard time admitting that she actually took the software from Kane
26:46and gave it to Victor in the first place, but she's got no qualms about stealing it back from him.
26:49Well, what did you offer her?
26:52I told her to name her price.
26:53Okay, hold on. Even if Phyllis does eventually agree to work with us,
26:56wouldn't Victor have anticipated that move?
26:59He'd have time to put a safety net around the AI program that even she couldn't penetrate?
27:03Exactly. So that's one more reason why relying on Phyllis is a bad idea.
27:08Before Billy got here, you said you may have another way to stop Victor?
27:11Yes, I think I do.
27:12Well, I would love to hear whatever it is, because I will stop at nothing to save this family's legacy.
27:19Victor will not win.
27:21I remember you telling me early on that you wanted to protect Jack from Victor.
27:39It's easier said than done, obviously.
27:41Is it still the case? Do you think it's still possible?
27:45Chelsea, what would you suggest?
27:47I don't know. I mean, I wish I had all the answers.
27:52But Adam, I just wonder if one day we're going to feel completely stuck and trapped,
27:57not being able to escape, because Victor's calling the shots.
28:00I can guarantee you, he will always be calling the shots.
28:03Again, it's his company. It's his decision.
28:06What about us, Adam? What about being a good example of our son?
28:12Because Jack was right out there. People are going to lose their livelihoods because of what we did.
28:18Careers will be ruined. Families will be torn apart. And for what?
28:22Why? Because Victor can't stand the thought of Jack Abbott existing on this planet?
28:28I don't want to get caught in the middle of that.
28:31Are you talking about leaving?
28:33Maybe. I don't know.
28:35I don't know. But let's not kid ourselves, Adam.
28:39We don't run anything for them. Okay?
28:45These are all just Victor's toys, and he will play with them the way he wants to.
28:50I just think we're better than that.
28:52So you really are considering him?
28:56I don't want Victor to own our souls.
29:01He's a great man in many respects, but he's also cutthroat.
29:04And I don't want to go down that road with him.
29:06And Adam, you shouldn't eat her.
29:08You've come so far for being that angry, bitter man who always just wanted to lash out and hurt people.
29:18You've got a conscience now.
29:19You both do.
29:28And that's a good thing.
29:31I ran into Adam and Chelsea while I was out.
29:34What'd they say?
29:35Were they gloating?
29:36No, they didn't exactly apologize, though, for doing Victor's dirty work.
29:42Did I hear right? Phyllis turned us down?
29:44No, not exactly.
29:45Uh, she said she'd think about it, which to me sounds like a lost cause.
29:49I wouldn't go that far, Diane.
29:50You think there's still a chance?
29:51I think whatever deal she has with Victor is not happening anymore.
29:54He's either stringing her along, he's pulled the plug entirely.
29:58She's desperate.
30:00I can tell, even though she's pretending she's not.
30:02I'm not sure we have time to wait for Phyllis to come around.
30:05No, the longer Jabot is offline, the more damage.
30:08No, we have to pull out our full arsenal.
30:11You said you had a plan.
30:13It didn't include Phyllis.
30:15I do.
30:17Well, we would love to hear it.
30:19So, uh, what's going on with Mariah?
30:24Has she made any progress?
30:27Some.
30:28Why?
30:28Why?
30:29Well, I was just wondering when she's going to return to her wife and to her child.
30:37What are you saying?
30:38Well, I saw you kissing Tessa right over there after your dad's wedding.
30:48I wasn't going to say anything because, you know, it's not my business.
30:54I just figured maybe, uh, it was too much champagne.
30:59You were missing Heather.
31:00She was missing Mariah.
31:02Your dad had just gotten married to the bug.
31:04You were feeling sentimental.
31:05Daniel, I don't know.
31:10She's not for you, Daniel.
31:12She's out of bounds.
31:15Right?
31:16That's it.
31:18What are you thinking?
31:19Well, obviously, I wasn't thinking.
31:22Yes, though, I am well aware that Tessa's married.
31:27Are you?
31:28Because you guys are joined at the hip.
31:31I mean, she's always around.
31:32And I just figure maybe she's confused and in limbo over her own marriage.
31:37But if you keep on going down this path, you will get your heart broken.
31:43I guarantee it.
31:44Listen, it was a kiss.
31:45It wasn't a big deal.
31:48Yes, it was everything you just said it was.
31:50It was spontaneous and unexpected.
31:53It was meaningless to both of us.
31:57Really?
31:58Yes, really.
32:02You know, I know what you're doing right now and it's not going to work.
32:05What am I doing?
32:06You, you're trying to change the subject.
32:08Oh, it's difficult and uncomfortable being on the witness stand, isn't it?
32:12You shouldn't be worried about me right now.
32:14You shouldn't be worried about Tessa.
32:15You should be worried about you.
32:16Okay.
32:16Because I know you're in trouble.
32:18Here we go again.
32:18Yeah, and I think I know what it is.
32:20Oh, really?
32:21What do you think you know?
32:23Yeah, last night after we talked, I got this idea in my head.
32:28Couldn't get it out.
32:28Okay.
32:29No.
32:30So please, tell me that you didn't have anything to do
32:34with stealing the software from Kane.
32:37And then please tell me that you didn't give it or sell it to Victor for some kind of promise.
32:43Who told you that?
32:49Guessing you're not thinking about what's left on your Christmas list.
33:02Actually, I kind of am, in a way.
33:10You know how Connor added that video game to his Christmas list?
33:14You mean the one you said, no way to?
33:16Yeah, because it's awful.
33:18It's this fake, shiny fantasy world where everything is perfect.
33:21People build castles to live in, drive sports cars, wear designer clothes.
33:26The only way to win the game is by amassing money, lots and lots of money,
33:30oppressing people, and fighting off attacks.
33:33Chelsea, it's just a game.
33:36It's not as bad as some of the other ones out there.
33:38At least it doesn't have guns.
33:41Yeah, well, I thought that at first as well.
33:43But then I thought, what is it actually teaching?
33:45It's teaching these kids to look up for themselves and find the hack, you know, the shortcut to success.
33:53There's no reward for compassion or being kind to people or doing the right thing.
33:58I get it. It's no omegasphere. I get it.
34:01Okay, that's petty and unfair. I'm trying to make a point here.
34:05Okay, you're right. I'm sorry.
34:09We will not get Connor the game and he'll get over it.
34:12Adam, don't you see? We're living in that world.
34:18Chelsea, okay.
34:19We are. Seriously, think about it.
34:22We brought our son into that world and we're reflecting our values onto him if we keep doing the things we're doing.
34:29You were equating an evil video game empire to living the life of a Newman.
34:36I mean, Jack's words really got to you, didn't they?
34:38I felt this way for a while, Adam.
34:40I've been suppressing these feelings.
34:44You know, I came around about going after Billy because he created a media company, so he was going to be competition for us.
34:50And then as far as Cain was concerned, I had no problem going after him because he was coming after us.
34:55That was fine as far as I was concerned, but exploiting Jabot the way we did, it just feels so dirty.
35:03I mean, so much so that you would just give it up.
35:10You would leave no media.
35:12I don't know.
35:13I don't know, but something's got to change.
35:16I don't want to be, um, what was it?
35:17What did Jack say out there?
35:19What were we?
35:19Except for Victor Spear.
35:20Exactly.
35:21I don't want to be that person, Adam.
35:22I don't want to be ashamed of what I do for a living.
35:26I've been that person in the past.
35:27I'm not going to go back and you shouldn't go back either.
35:30And we won't.
35:34You asked me.
35:35You asked me what I want on my Christmas wish list, right?
35:40I don't need another cashmere sweater or a fancy necklace.
35:45Connor certainly doesn't need another video game.
35:48What we need to do is, is protect what we've created.
35:53Protect what we've built.
35:55The three of us.
35:56Continue to be good human beings.
36:00Continue to be people that Connor can be proud of.
36:05That's more important to me than doing Victor's bidding.
36:12Isn't that more important to you too?
36:18Mom, nobody told me anything, Mom.
36:19I figured it out on my own.
36:22You figured wrong.
36:23Yeah.
36:23No, I don't think so.
36:25You see, especially not the way you've been bobbing and weaving,
36:27trying to avoid answering all my questions.
36:30You know what?
36:31I've heard some things too.
36:32You've heard some things.
36:33Yeah.
36:34People talking.
36:35Yeah, speculating.
36:36Okay.
36:37Well, you've heard gossip.
36:38And what they were saying, it all kind of made sense.
36:41And then I spoke with Summer last night and we both came to the same conclusion.
36:45You stole the software and then you sold it to Victor, who's using it to launch some kind of attack against you, Bo.
36:54And if that's true, if we're right, you need to figure out a way to get out of this somehow.
36:59Well, I appreciate your concern for me.
37:07I do.
37:08And for Summer, our family.
37:13I'm fine.
37:15I am.
37:15I'm better than fine.
37:22The circumstances are working out in my favor, right?
37:27They are.
37:30Trust me, I'm going to win.
37:34What kind of plan are you cooking up now?
37:38Something that will bring our family together, once and for all.
37:45We've been shutting Jabot down to save it, a defensive move.
37:49But in the meantime, I've been going on the offensive because Victor has something to lose, too.
37:54He had that AI program stolen and he used it against Kane's company.
37:59That's illegal.
38:00That's prison time.
38:01And you set up traps within Jabot to catch Victor in the act in case he ever launched the AI program against us.
38:06Once we have that proof, we can put this guy away for the rest of his life.
38:10We don't have that proof, do we?
38:11Not yet.
38:13But I know where I can find it.
38:15Bye-bye.
