Frankie Grande‘s energy is absolutely contagious, and in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger: The Musical, his character Frankini literally spreads Frankie’s bubbly, high-energy personality to Swellview– putting a musical curse on the town! “The role was actually written for me by Dan Schneider, and he created Frankini based on me. He’s essentially an ego-maniacal YouTuber who would do anything for likes!” Frankie, who has recurred on Henry Danger as Frankini, explained in an EXCLUSIVE podcast interview with HollywoodLife. “It’s so fun because I’ve created such an amazing, out of his mind, whackadoo character out of him. It’s been really lovely.”

00:00Hey, we're here with the Hollywood Life podcast and we are so glad to be back after a very hot weekend and we have got an even hotter star than the weekend weather.
00:16We are here with Frankie Grande.
00:19Welcome.
00:20Thank you so much for having me.
00:21It's so good to see you.
00:23It's so good to see you too.
00:24Hi.
00:25Hi.
00:26And also keeping us company here, as she always does, is our co-anchor and on-air personality, Allie Stagnita.
00:37Hi.
00:38I'm kind of, Bonnie and I, we're always shoulder to shoulder, right?
00:42I know.
00:43It feels really strange to be looking at you.
00:45Yes.
00:45For all of you who watch our podcasts, we are, there's Frankie.
00:51We are now videotaping, so we have a new setup and our silent producer, Nick, is behind the camera.
00:57Hi, Nick.
00:58Hi.
00:59Now, before we even start, you guys know each other.
01:02I mean, you came in here and you were like, oh my gosh, but how do you recall the first time you guys met?
01:07Absolutely.
01:07We did a podcast.
01:09Yeah.
01:09We did a podcast, but in our old office.
01:12Yes.
01:12Yes.
01:13And it was literally like just us.
01:15I remember it being like, you know, like literally just like, I feel like it was like after hours.
01:18It was like me and you.
01:19And it was really, really fun.
01:21And that's why I met you.
01:22And then we've, you know, been friends ever since.
01:24That's been a while.
01:25Yes.
01:25And I came to see you on, in your Broadway show, Rock of Ages.
01:30Rock of Ages.
01:31Rock of Ages.
01:31And you were fantastic.
01:33Thank you so much.
01:34It was so much fun.
01:36And we went to see you backstage.
01:38That's so cool.
01:39It was really crazy.
01:40I mean, that was 2014.
01:42Wow.
01:43You've got a really good memory.
01:44Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:45Well, I just remember I was on Big Brother in 2014.
01:47So it's like.
01:48Oh, that's right.
01:49Yes.
01:50Before Big Brother and after.
01:51Yes, exactly.
01:52And it was directly after.
01:53It was like a month later.
01:54Amazing.
01:55Yes.
01:56I remember that.
01:57And I also remember that we were very convenient for you because we were like down the street
02:03from your Broadway show.
02:05Yep.
02:05It was.
02:05It was really close to everything.
02:07I'm so excited to be here.
02:08Well, and the thing is, I have to say, so let's say 2014, that was five years ago.
02:13Yeah.
02:14You look younger now.
02:16Seriously.
02:17You do.
02:17Seriously, you don't age.
02:19No, you don't.
02:19We need to know your secret.
02:21Sobriety.
02:23We will definitely talk about that.
02:25Water.
02:25We'll talk about that.
02:26Water and sleep.
02:28Yes.
02:29I think sleep is a key thing.
02:31Yeah.
02:31Yeah.
02:32For sure.
02:32That's why I'm not like you.
02:36No, I definitely love to sleep.
02:38Oh, my God.
02:38I need sleep.
02:40I mean, I woke up way too early and I'm on the wrong coast.
02:43So I'm ready for bed already.
02:44What time is it?
02:45It's 4 p.m.
02:46Ready for sleep.
02:47Got to go.
02:48The thing is, is you've got a very physical career.
02:51Yes.
02:51So you actually really physically need sleep.
02:55Yeah.
02:55And here you are, and we're going to be talking about this very exciting show that you have
03:01coming up this week, Henry Danger, the musical.
03:05Yes.
03:06And being in Henry Danger, the musical, you do a lot of dancing as well as singing.
03:10Yes.
03:11And it's airing July 27th.
03:14It's Saturday.
03:15Yes.
03:15Perfect time.
03:17Saturday, 8 o'clock on Nickelodeon.
03:19Yay!
03:20So we all know what we're doing this coming Saturday.
03:23Yes, you are.
03:24And everyone really needs to watch it.
03:25I mean, they're just the little clips that I've seen.
03:28Like, it's so phenomenal.
03:29And I'm so proud of it.
03:31I'm so excited to be a part of it.
03:33And like, yeah, you saw me in Rock of Ages, but I get to do all of that in this TV special.
03:37Like, it's just like singing, dancing, acting.
03:40And it's really beautifully written.
03:42It's great music.
03:43And it's smart.
03:45And it's funny.
03:45And it's clever.
03:46I love that.
03:46I'm really excited.
03:48Now, you have done TV.
03:50You have done theater acting.
03:53Do you prefer doing musical work on the stage or, you know, taped?
04:00Well, this was my first time doing a TV musical.
04:05Really?
04:05Yes.
04:06But we rehearsed it like a Broadway show.
04:09Okay.
04:09So, like, it was very much.
04:11Like, my numbers, like, I did them straight through.
04:14And, like, one of them, I have a couple solos.
04:17And one of my solos, I did it in two takes.
04:20Wow.
04:20And, like, that was it.
04:21They were like, I did it straight through, two takes, like, straightforward camera coverage.
04:25And it, oh, thunder and lightning.
04:28You hear that?
04:29Yes.
04:29Yes.
04:30Yes.
04:30You brought the thunder.
04:32Yes, I did.
04:33That was Zeus being like, oh, my God, good job on your two takes.
04:36I was like, thanks, Zeus.
04:38Thanks so much, Zeus.
04:40But, yeah, so, like, I got to perform at, like, a musical.
04:43The only difference is we didn't have a live audience.
04:45And, like, come on now.
04:47I love those live audiences.
04:49So, because of the fact that there is not a live audience, I choose stage.
04:54Yeah.
04:55Yeah.
04:55Well, and I, but then when you are on the stage, you know, you're performing eight times a week.
05:00How do you typically keep yourself going?
05:03Well, that's why he needs the sleep.
05:06The sleep and the water and the fitness.
05:07I mean, it's just, like, flexing a muscle, right?
05:10Like, you know, like, dancers are athletes.
05:12Yes.
05:12Totally.
05:13So, we have to train.
05:14We have to be on our game.
05:16We can't screw around.
05:17And, like, you know, you have to treat your bodies like the temples that they are, especially as we get later on in life, you know, then you can't.
05:24Which you are not there.
05:26Dancers, dancer worlds are, you know, like.
05:28Dancing world's different.
05:29It's different.
05:29Do you have to do a lot of ice baths?
05:32You just have to take care of yourself even more.
05:34Like, I would say, like, I got away with so much 15 years ago in terms of, like, dancing.
05:40Like, I could just, like, I was indestructible.
05:42You could, like, throw me against a wall.
05:43It'd be fine.
05:44Now, it's like, when I'm doing a lift with a girl, I'm like, oh, my God.
05:46Just make sure.
05:47Use my core.
05:48Use my core.
05:48Frankie, use your core.
05:49Okay, great.
05:50And I'm going home to ice.
05:51Bye.
05:51You know, like, just making sure, you know.
05:53Well, the thing is, is that I've seen the trailers for the show.
05:58Yeah.
05:58For Henry Danger.
06:00Yeah.
06:00And you are doing some very serious dancing.
06:03And your leg is going, like, way up straight.
06:07Yes.
06:07Perfectly straight.
06:08And that's those things.
06:10So, those scenes, actually, the scene that you're talking about, it's the arrival picnic scene.
06:14And park scene, rather.
06:16And we had to do many, many takes of that because there were so many moving pieces.
06:21Like, there were, like, I want to say close to 30 people in that scene.
06:25So, and it was, we shot it like a musical.
06:27So, they'd do so much coverage sort of thing.
06:29And the choreography comes up to me, like, after, like, I don't know, take, who knows, 20.
06:34Oh, jeez.
06:35Yeah, seriously.
06:36And he was like, you, you can stop kicking like that.
06:39Now, we got it.
06:40And I was like, I can't.
06:42Because if, that what's going to happen is the take that I am marking, for some reason,
06:49everything else is going to look really good in that scene.
06:51And that's the one that they're going to use.
06:53And I'm going to throw myself out of a window.
06:55So, I literally was like, I, so I kicked every single scene.
07:00Yeah.
07:00Every single shot.
07:01And you know what?
07:02It worked because it looks amazing in the scene.
07:05Yeah, I know it really does.
07:07Yeah, it's great.
07:07But we did have Derek Hoffman here to do the podcast.
07:11So, he, he said he has to take an ice bath after every performance.
07:16Yeah, that's, it's good advice.
07:18Sometimes, yeah.
07:20Sometimes, it depends on how, like, after that day, I had to because my quads were on fire.
07:26Fire.
07:26Also, I was dancing in heeled boots, wedge, wedge boots, which were very heavy.
07:31So, like, when you're dancing isn't that much, you're using your muscles even more because
07:35the boots are heavy.
07:35Um, but I wouldn't have.
07:38Are they special dance boots?
07:39No.
07:40Oh, my God, no.
07:40They are winter boots that we rhinestone to make them even heavier and sparklier.
07:46But you know what?
07:46I wouldn't have changed it for the world because it looks fantastic.
07:50Beauty is pain, everyone.
07:52Beauty is pain.
07:53They look really good.
07:54I wouldn't take it back for the world.
07:55But I did need to ice for, like, several days after that.
07:58Yeah.
07:58Wow.
07:58Now, you've been on Henry Danger before.
08:01Yes.
08:01Um, why did you want to return to this show?
08:06Well, I mean, I am, you know, like, a reoccurring special guest.
08:09So, like, I will.
08:10And are you evil, Frankini, every time you come?
08:13I'm still Frankini.
08:14Frankini started pretty maniacal.
08:17Like, quite.
08:18This is, for those of you who haven't seen it, this is Frankie's character.
08:22Yes.
08:22It feels like it was written for you.
08:24It was written for me.
08:25Dan Schneider wrote the role for me.
08:27Um, he created Frankini and, um, for, for, uh, based on me.
08:32He was a, I mean, I'm a YouTuber.
08:34He's an egomaniacal YouTuber that will do anything for likes.
08:37I'm an egomaniacal YouTuber who will do anything for likes.
08:40You know, so it's, uh, it was very much based on me.
08:42Uh, but it's so fun because I get to take, uh, Frankie.
08:46I've created such an amazing, like, out of your, out of his mind, wackadoo character out
08:52of him.
08:52Um, and, um, it's been really lovely.
08:54Um, it's been really nice to get to play him.
08:58How, how would you, how would you describe him?
09:01An egomaniacal YouTube character that'll do anything for likes.
09:05But, um, no, he's truly, um, he's just like, I think he was like a loner, you know, like
09:10growing up and like, he discovered that he was really smart.
09:13So he created like this world and also really rich.
09:17He's Bruce Wayne, um, uh, with, um, the goal of just being a social media star.
09:23Like he has money and he's like very funny and he has all the abilities to do all those
09:29things.
09:29But, um, uh, he somehow like got lost along the way and started to do things that were
09:35like really uncool to get views on YouTube.
09:39Um, I feel like that happens these days.
09:42It does happen to, to many YouTubers, I would say.
09:45Um, and like, you're all of a sudden you're like, how are you vlogging that?
09:48And then it's like, well, that's what happened.
09:49Um, so it's kind of like a little, like not at life, which is funny.
09:53Um, and then he became, he becomes like a little bit more of a frenemy.
09:56And now, I mean, like in this episode, he's putting a musical curse over Swellviews so that
10:01everyone sings and dance all the time.
10:02I think that sounds lovely.
10:04And I think he's a wonderful person for that.
10:06And so you, you, we need more, we need more singing and dancing.
10:09Well, we sure do right now, really the whole world, could you, could you please put this
10:14curse on the entire country?
10:16I would love to, especially on DC.
10:18A musical curse over DC.
10:21Yeah.
10:21That'd be so fun.
10:22Yeah.
10:22That would be so good.
10:25But why is he evil?
10:27Like he's supposedly evil, right?
10:31I think there are characters on Henry Danger that are truly evil, but like, obviously like
10:37Frankini, he, you know, they, they enjoy him.
10:41Like the, the other characters in the show, like they're kind of like, okay, it's Frankini.
10:46He's like kind of fun, but like, we need to stop him.
10:49You know what I'm saying?
10:50Like, it's like heck of a thing.
10:51But he's not like the worst.
10:52No, exactly.
10:53No, he's not like, okay, he's going to like ruin everything forever.
10:55There he goes again.
10:56No, they're just like, oh, Frankini's back.
10:58I can't imagine you like being someone who's bad.
11:01Like I can't.
11:02Watch the show.
11:02He's mischievous.
11:04He's misunderstood.
11:05How about that?
11:06I mean, you're asking, you know, I can't judge my own character.
11:09That's not the way acting works.
11:10So I'm going to, of course, tell you about his side of the story.
11:13Of course.
11:14And how things are wrong.
11:15That's why you're here.
11:16But where did he get his power to have this kind of, how do you, but you can't just put
11:21a curse and have it work.
11:22It's a machine.
11:24So he creates a machine, invents, invents and builds a machine.
11:30And that's how it happens.
11:32Yeah.
11:32So who did the music and the choreography for this?
11:35Okay.
11:35So Sam Martin wrote the music.
11:37She's one of the writers on Henry Danger Always.
11:41And she said that during a pitch, like it was always her dream to write a musical.
11:45So she went ahead and wrote the opening number before anyone even said, before anyone even
11:51got wind of the fact that there was a musical thought.
11:55And she presented it at their like weekly pitch meeting.
11:58And everyone loved it so much.
11:59They were like, cool, great, green lit.
12:02Go home for six weeks.
12:04Go write the whole musical.
12:05She wrote 26 songs.
12:06Wow.
12:07And she came back in and the musical was born.
12:12And she wrote, you know, she was like, what villain?
12:14She was like, I really wanted Frankini.
12:17You know, like she was like, I know you're a Broadway boy.
12:21So like, we must have him.
12:23I was so honored when she said that.
12:26And it's incredible.
12:27It's the first musical that she's ever written, like cover to cover.
12:30Wow.
12:30So, and it's fantastic.
12:33You know, Chris Judd is the choreographer.
12:35So much fun to work with him.
12:36Oh, really?
12:37Chris Judd?
12:37Uh-huh.
12:38Yes.
12:39And we had a wonderful time.
12:39Where did you shoot this?
12:40Well, Nickelodeon Burbank.
12:42Okay.
12:43So in LA.
12:44I met Chris Judd.
12:46I think I've talked to Chris Judd.
12:47Probably.
12:48Like years ago.
12:49He's been around.
12:49Well, I mean, he was married to Jennifer Lopez.
12:51Yes, he was.
12:51Yes.
12:51He was husband number two.
12:53Yes.
12:53But he was a really, really nice guy.
12:55He's the sweetest.
12:56Yeah.
12:57And it was really fun getting to work with him because like I have a background
13:00in dance.
13:01I have a degree in dance.
13:03Where did you go to school?
13:04Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
13:06Yeah.
13:07So I triple majored in biology, theater, and dance.
13:10Got a degree in dance.
13:10Biology?
13:11I know.
13:12My dad's a doctor.
13:13I was obsessed with biology my whole life.
13:15I loved it.
13:16I was, I had one year from graduating college to the time I graduated to the time I wanted
13:21to be on Broadway.
13:22I gave myself one year and I did it.
13:24I did it in a year.
13:25I was in Mamma Mia with my first year of graduating.
13:28So.
13:28Wow.
13:29Bye, bye, bye doctor dreams.
13:31So you actually were going to be a doctor?
13:34I was going to go to med school.
13:35How fun would that have been to have you as a doctor?
13:39Did you like dissecting frogs and stuff?
13:42Like that was your.
13:42Give me a scalpel and a pin and I'll take apart that entire fetal pig.
13:47Oh my gosh.
13:49Because that's what you do.
13:50Yeah.
13:51That is what you do.
13:51I had to take like a bio lab.
13:53And I knew I wanted to be a journalist.
13:57But it's true.
13:58It's so true.
13:59They're like wrap it up.
14:00Well you.
14:02But it's important.
14:03They're good teaching tools.
14:05Thank you pigs who donated their fetuses so that we can learn.
14:09Everyone's so sensitive.
14:10I forgot about that.
14:12It's true because they're very like humans in a lot of ways.
14:15They're inside.
14:16Oh my God.
14:17Well and I'm a vegan now.
14:19But still I think.
14:20I don't know what they used to teach.
14:22You know what I had the other day for the first time?
14:24Do they still use fetal pigs?
14:24Someone Google it.
14:25I had the other day a burger for the first time.
14:28A what?
14:28A burger.
14:29A vegan burger.
14:30Is that the impossible burger?
14:32The beyond burger.
14:33It's the best thing.
14:33Yeah.
14:33It tastes delicious.
14:34It's so good.
14:35At least it's a kind of filling.
14:35And that's why Charlotte says I should be a publicist because I can change the conversation.
14:40Meanwhile I'm Googling do they still use fetal pigs in school?
14:45I'm sure they do.
14:47Listen.
14:47They got to teach doctors.
14:49They can't just dissect humans all the time.
14:52Well yeah.
14:53No they can't.
14:54In school.
14:54I'm looking it up.
14:55Okay.
14:56We're about to find out.
14:58Oh my gosh.
14:58Were you watching the Cats trailer?
15:01I was watching the Cats trailer.
15:02Well because I just saw it on your phone.
15:04Yes.
15:04What did you.
15:05It's so good.
15:05It's very controversial.
15:06What do you think?
15:07It's creepy.
15:08Yeah.
15:08It's creepy.
15:09It looks like a scary scary nightmare.
15:11Oh I love Cats.
15:12Yeah.
15:13I mean.
15:14Cats original Cats looks like a scary nightmare.
15:16Yeah.
15:17Yeah.
15:17I guess so then you're saying they nailed it.
15:20Yeah.
15:20Okay.
15:20Like remember the beginning.
15:22Have you ever seen it on Broadway or like did you ever get the VHS?
15:24VHS tape?
15:25Like my parents had my videos.
15:26Okay.
15:26Allie.
15:26For those who haven't seen it.
15:27I was super young.
15:27Explain.
15:28Wait.
15:28Explain.
15:29I was super young.
15:30I don't remember it.
15:30So Cats is a Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
15:34Right.
15:34And he's known for like this fantastical like wild out of this world stuff.
15:40Yeah.
15:41And in the beginning of the show everything is pitch black and all of a sudden just cats
15:45eyes are green and they pop up everywhere.
15:49And my mom for some reason also used to tell me that cats were evil when I was growing up.
15:52Nice.
15:53So because I wanted one and so she didn't want to get me one.
15:56My mom did too because she's allergic to cats.
15:58So she was a cats are evil.
16:00Right.
16:00Same.
16:01Poor kitties.
16:01My mom also told me that donuts were just decoration.
16:05So I didn't want them.
16:06She was wrong.
16:07But literally.
16:08So I think that it's creepy.
16:10Like how Andrew Lloyd Webber's like cats is creepy.
16:12In general it's creepy.
16:14Yeah.
16:14But I thought it looked good.
16:15But do you think that the trailer then was good personified what it is or was it too creepy?
16:21I think like kind of in the way like Sonic the Hedgehog there was such a public outcry
16:25to how creepy he was and they went back and reanimated it.
16:28They should do the same thing.
16:29Oh.
16:30That's big.
16:31It's creepy.
16:32Yeah.
16:32It's like weird.
16:33Well I didn't find it that creepy.
16:36But I haven't seen your original cats.
16:37I just think that the original.
16:38My parents had gotten it from me on like the VHS.
16:41Yeah.
16:41You're right.
16:41It was young.
16:44Do you have a musical that you want to turn into a movie that you want to be in?
16:48I had a new danger of the musical airing on Nickelodeon on Saturday the 27th at 8 p.m.
16:53No for real.
16:54Like I think it's the best musical ever and it should go to Broadway immediately as soon
16:58as the thing happens.
16:59Oh it should go to Broadway.
16:59Oh.
17:00Yes.
17:00So it could go backwards because a lot of these musicals you know start on Broadway and
17:03then end up on TV or film.
17:05This is an original musical.
17:07Yeah.
17:07Which is airing on television which is like a huge deal.
17:11It is.
17:12You know like that's a big deal.
17:13It is a big deal.
17:14It's an original musical that can then go to stage.
17:16Right.
17:17That doesn't happen.
17:17And you know what it is a big deal began really it's it's part of a big trend which
17:22I think is a fabulous trend to have musicals means sometimes live this is like live on
17:29television like for everyone but you know why not take it to Broadway.
17:33Yeah.
17:34I mean there's a million kids that need that.
17:36Yeah.
17:36Love to go and see it.
17:38SpongeBob was on Broadway.
17:39Yeah.
17:39It's time for Henry Danger to be on Broadway.
17:41OK.
17:42Are you listening Broadway producers.
17:44Yes.
17:44Jordan.
17:44Come on.
17:45Now are now after it's on air.
17:48Yes.
17:48Will you actually go and work with somebody to pitch this to be on Broadway.
17:54I mean I think it'll pitch itself to be honest.
17:57And I think Nickelodeon is smart enough to like understand like based on how well it does
18:02that like it could potentially go somewhere.
18:04Sam would have to write an act two but knowing Sam she could do that in six weeks.
18:09Exactly.
18:09Act one in six weeks.
18:11Well hey I mean Nickelodeon's got Disney as an example like look at Disney with you
18:16know they've got a Broadway show on all the time.
18:18I don't know if they've ever done that with like have taken like Descendants and put it
18:22on Broadway.
18:23You know this would be something like that.
18:24Greatest Showman is going to go.
18:25That's smart.
18:26Yes.
18:27Greatest Showman.
18:27But that's like the only one that I can think of.
18:29Yeah.
18:29Now we actually do have some other questions from people in our office too.
18:33Speaking of you know reboots.
18:35You did a really beautiful rendition of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
18:40Oh I thank you.
18:40You're so sweet.
18:41And we were wondering what you think of you know potentially Harry Styles and Halle Bailey
18:46you know being cast in the live action.
18:49Who's Halle Bailey playing?
18:51She's playing Ariel.
18:52Oh my god.
18:52Oh that.
18:53Oh I don't.
18:53I actually didn't know who she was until the press release came out.
18:56Right.
18:57Which is super exciting.
18:58I think it's wonderful that it's someone like Halle Bailey.
19:02Do you know her?
19:03I don't.
19:03Oh okay.
19:04I don't know her.
19:04I've never seen her on television either so I'm excited.
19:07I don't.
19:07Yeah I don't think I've seen her on TV either but she and her twin sister Chloe have had
19:12a musical sort of group the two of them for a number of years.
19:16They're like Beyonce's prodigies.
19:17Yeah they actually came in here a few years ago to do the podcast and they're really exceptionally.
19:21Did they sing the national anthem?
19:23Was that them?
19:23Yeah.
19:23Oh my god.
19:25They were great.
19:26Yes.
19:27Awesome.
19:27Okay so I do know who she is and I have seen her on TV.
19:29I was lying the whole time.
19:31That's awesome though.
19:32She's beautiful and talented.
19:33Yeah.
19:34So great.
19:34I'm super excited.
19:35And then Harry Styles as Eric.
19:36I love him.
19:37I love him.
19:38Of course he'd be wonderful.
19:39He was so good in Dunkirk.
19:41Oh yeah.
19:41And that's why.
19:42Yeah he's a great actor and he's nice.
19:44Have you met him?
19:45Yeah several times.
19:46Oh tell us about it.
19:47Oh he's so sweet.
19:48He's very princely.
19:49Oh really?
19:50Oh I like that.
19:50He's a very good Prince Eric Harry.
19:52He's got very good manners doesn't he?
19:54Very good manners.
19:55Very very nice.
19:56He's met some of our reporters and he's always been delightful.
19:59Yes very nice.
20:00Like super sweet with them.
20:01Yes very nice Mrs. Styles.
20:03Very nice.
20:03Now you are also a huge member of the LGBTQ community.
20:09Um what members of the community inspire you?
20:14Um you know I feel like I got a lot of my inspiration from um when I was growing up.
20:20It was Madonna.
20:20You know the greatest ally of all time honestly.
20:24She did so much for the gay community um in the 80s.
20:27Like when people were so scared of doing anything on that kind of public large pop level.
20:33She did it.
20:34She shoved it in everyone's faces and it gave me permission to you know like be uh the kind
20:40of person that I wanted to be growing up which was which was really cool.
20:44And also to refresh people's memories too in the 80s was when the AIDS epidemic was going on.
20:50Yeah.
20:51And a lot of big um stars didn't speak out.
20:55Yeah.
20:55And she did.
20:56She did.
20:57She was she's done so much for the LGBTQIA squares.
21:00I actually learned about the IA plus the other like a few weeks ago.
21:03Yeah.
21:03And I love that Ally was added to that.
21:05Yeah Ally.
21:06I think it's really beautiful.
21:07Yes.
21:07And it's important because Ally's are the ones that are going to help us get like the legislation
21:11passed and all the things that we need in order to like continue to A keep our rights
21:15and also get more.
21:15Yeah keep your rights these days.
21:16Yes exactly.
21:17It's keep our rights.
21:18Yeah.
21:18Now speaking of of of rights um I thought that your costume your look for the gay pride parade
21:27was amazing.
21:30And how did you do that?
21:32It was like you had full-on body paint.
21:34It was full-on body paint.
21:36All over everything.
21:37Yes.
21:37That's exactly what it was.
21:38It was four hours of me standing very patiently while two wonderful women worked on me um and
21:45made me the most beautiful piece of art ever.
21:47You were a piece of art.
21:48It was really art.
21:49Like literally a piece of art.
21:51Very talented.
21:52Very talented uh makeup artists.
21:55What time in the morning did you have to get up to do that?
21:57Um seven.
21:58I was well I was up a little bit before seven and we started painting at seven because I
22:02had to be at the parade by like noon.
22:03Yeah.
22:04So it was it was really nice.
22:06Did you think it was the best one yet this year?
22:08Um.
22:09Because World Pride was here and everything.
22:10Yeah World Pride was really special and it was a really great day and again I ended the
22:14night with Madonna.
22:15Right.
22:15Which was like the exactly you know the the bow on the end of my World Pride you know was
22:20Madonna was the cool.
22:21Of course she did and it was it was lovely and she was you know did usher in a lot of
22:26um support for the LGBTQ movement back in the day and also like how she's committed to
22:33continuing to you know foster that level of understanding and support and then um she
22:39talked about she did a song um about gun control how how important it is um and she
22:45did uh a song about um the refugee crisis crisis and she was pretty she was on she was
22:53on and she was on a lot of causes yes now you're from Florida yes um and you just brought
23:00up gun that she did a song for gun control are you able to vote in Florida yes I am that's
23:04good I know because your vote really counts there it does it has every year so that's good
