Nagarjuna. Renowned film actor Akkineni Nagarjuna said that although his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), was not formally educated, he worked hard to provide a bright future for thousands of people. He participated in the diamond jubilee celebrations of ANR College in Gudivada, Krishna district. Nagarjuna inaugurated the RUSA building at the college. Speaking on the occasion, he said that ANR had donated Rs. 1 lakh to the college in 1959. Nagarjuna announced that his family would be donating Rs. 2 crore for student scholarships.
తన తండ్రి అక్కినేని నాగేశ్వరరావు (ఏఎన్నార్‌) చదువుకోకపోయినా వేల మందికి బంగారు భవిష్యత్తు ఇచ్చేందుకు కృషి చేశారని ప్రముఖ సినీనటుడు అక్కినేని నాగార్జున అన్నారు. కృష్ణా జిల్లా గుడివాడలో ఏఎన్నార్‌ కళాశాల వజ్రోత్సవ కార్యక్రమంలో ఆయన పాల్గొన్నారు. కళాశాలలో రూసా భవనాన్ని నాగార్జున ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ 1959లో కళాశాలకు ఏఎన్నార్‌ రూ.లక్ష విరాళం అందించారన్నారు. విద్యార్థుల స్కాలర్‌షిప్‌ల కోసం తమ కుటుంబం తరఫున రూ.2 కోట్ల విరాళం అందిస్తున్నట్లు నాగార్జున ప్రకటించారు.
