04:26You're watching a special presentation of the NBA on Prime.
04:30We welcome you to Emirates NBA Cup Championship on Prime.
04:39It's game night in Las Vegas, the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.
04:46Knicks have won five in a row, nine of their last ten. San Antonio has won ten of its last thirteen. These two teams have earned the right to be here in Las Vegas to play for the trophy.
05:03Could be a stepping stone for an emerging team like San Antonio and some validation for the New York Knicks.
05:13Knicks came out of the East Group C. That led them from group play into the knockout round.
05:24And we're underway in Las Vegas. The Knicks control the tip. Mark Davis, Brent Barneke, Nate Green.
05:34Oh, the officiating crew. Brunson put his shoulder into Castle. First possession for New York.
05:41But I love it that Castle, who's averaging 18 a game, Dwayne, but he wants to guard the best player on the other team. I love that.
05:50Yeah, Coach, you see him. He's so focused. I love watching him get ready for the game. He doesn't change his expression at all.
05:55Oh, Barnes misses on a three. And the Knicks get it up the floor in a hurry.
06:04Drive and kick. Towns outside Hart.
06:09Now it's Brunson with Castle. Sticks with him defensively. Shot clock down to six. Towns.
06:15Chans it from long range to open up the scoring.
06:17That is a tough shot. Hand right in his face.
06:21That's a tough shot. Castle, Coach, did exactly what Coach talked about in the locker room.
06:25He said, listen, if Brunson's going to make tough shots, we've got to live with it.
06:28Stay down. Don't put him on the foul line too much.
06:31Nice delivery by Vassell.
06:33I think that's always key with stars, Dwayne, is not putting him on the line.
06:37I know when I had to coach against you, by the way, it was a lot more fun coaching you than against you.
06:42But when I had to coach against you, that's something we talked about all the time.
06:45Stay down. Don't foul. He's going to make shots.
06:48All the great players are. Don't give them easy ones at the line.
06:52Hart delivers and gets the role.
06:57Dwayne, something with Josh Hart that I know has stood out for you.
07:01He's not a natural three-point shooter. He wants to attack it.
07:05Vassell, that's all.
07:07And you can see it's running through his brain, the decision that he's going to make when the ball's in his hands.
07:12Yeah, it's tough when you're an attacker. We talked about it.
07:14We both share that as attackers.
07:16When do I shoot? When do I be prepared to shoot?
07:19And OG, this is something right there that everybody needs to take a look at.
07:23He's one of the best cutters in this game.
07:25What is front cutting? What is delay cutting?
07:27You're going to see a lot of those tonight when he does not have the ball.
07:30He does not stay still.
07:32Fox and Cornette not on the same page.
07:34San Antonio turns it over.
07:36Brunson with a dime.
07:37Great pass. This is the delay cut right here.
07:39Allow Brunson to get into his move.
07:41Didn't cut too early.
07:41Make sure the ball can see you when you cut.
07:43Bridges, the baseline delivery doesn't go.
07:46And Ananobi leads the NBA in corner threes per game at over one and a half.
07:53And so sometimes when you're the defender, you just expect him to stay spotted up in the corner.
07:59And people lose focus and he's able to make those cuts.
08:02Fox sticks it from the outside.
08:037-4 advantage for New York.
08:05Both games on Saturday were played at a high level.
08:10Brunson, he got a body bump from Fox who picks up the foul.
08:16Yeah, coach, as you talked about, he's a knockdown shooter in the corner.
08:20But he just, he's patient.
08:21You got, you have to be patient.
08:22And also, too, the defense does a great job of doing what?
08:26Ball watching.
08:27You got to understand.
08:28Watch your man head.
08:29Once they head is just continue looking at the ball, that's your opportunity to cut when the ball can see you.
08:33Well, and obviously, you're going to get a lot of ball watching when Brunson has the ball.
08:38Because everybody knows he's the guy that has to be stopped.
08:41Pull-up pop and air ball.
08:43Nick shot 61% a season high in that semifinal win over Orlando.
08:48132 to 120.
08:51They only turned it over 12 times.
08:53Well, that's been a big part.
08:54Everybody talks about the three-point shooting and their offensive rebounding.
08:58But the way they take care of the ball has been huge.
09:01Castle with the setup to Cornette.
09:05And Anobi misses from the outside.
09:08And Bridges with a track down.
09:10Cutter, Brunson, extra, Towns a three.
09:13In and out.
09:15Well, Castle getting two feet in the paint once again.
09:17And that breaks the defense down.
09:19It allows for him to be, he's comfortable down there finishing and passing.
09:23And Vassell is comfortable from the perimeter.
09:26A downtown hit for Devin Vassell.
09:28And again, though, from Castle, like Dwayne just said, getting two feet in the paint,
09:34drawing the defense, kicking it back out.
09:37Coach, that's your responsibility as an attacker, as a guard.
09:40Your responsibility is to make sure that you're putting your feet in the paint
09:44so the defense have to react to you and you make sure you're getting your teammates' shots.
09:47You can always get your own.
09:49But it's important you get your teammates' shots.
09:50No whistle, Castle goes down, Brunson, can't make him pay, misses on a three ball.
09:56Castle's got three assists in less than four minutes and has not taken a shot yet.
10:01Barnes, hard drive.
10:03He ducks inside for two.
10:05It looked like Towns cut off the angle.
10:08He did not.
10:08It's a 9-0 run.
10:09I like that for Harris Barnes.
10:10I mean, he started the last game, had some great looks.
10:13They didn't go down, but we didn't see him touch the paint at all.
10:15We saw him just settle for the outside shot.
10:17So to get yourself going, go get a layup.
10:20Oh, the ball pressure from San Antonio.
10:23Bridget's trying to shake off Fox.
10:25Corner, there's Ananobi.
10:27Got him.
10:28It's the work.
10:31We end up talking so much, and rightfully so, about Brunson and Cat.
10:36But Ananobi's just having a great year.
10:39Wow, Castle couldn't get it to go, but look who's there.
10:41Cornette on cleanup duty.
10:43Well, and that is not going to be an assist for Castle,
10:46but he created that basket.
10:48He drew the help.
10:49That's what opens up the board for Luke Cornette.
10:52Hard drive.
10:53Brunson banks it in.
10:55I love the way that the Knicks are putting Brunson all over the floor.
10:59We're not just getting a heavy dose of him up top.
11:01He moves around a lot.
11:02Even sometimes he becomes a screener.
11:04It makes him hard to guard.
11:06Pull-up jump.
11:07Vassell is fouled by Hart.
11:10Vassell has been very active.
11:11Mitch Johnson said he's been impressed with the others.
11:15Because they dealt with so many injuries.
11:19And there's a buzz in the crowd because Victor Wimbanyama is off the bench,
11:25ready to check in.
11:26I mean, I think there's a lot of people in this building
11:28and a lot of people watching us on TV
11:31that that's why they want to see this game.
11:34They want to see Victor Wimbanyama.
11:35It's like going to an art exhibit.
11:37You just keep staring at this man.
11:39You can't believe it.
11:40Look how big he is, man.
11:42And then he get out here and he start moving and shaking like a guard.
11:45It's just unbelievable to watch him in person.
11:47And there's a chance when you show up, it could be a masterpiece.
11:51Ooh, I like that.
11:52Okay.
11:52You guys got it going on.
11:54Just go right by me and just keep going.
11:56Stan, you and Dwayne should switch seats.
11:58Yes, probably.
11:59I think.
12:00I think.
12:0114-12.
12:02San Antonio in front.
12:03Harper in as well.
12:05Talented rookie out of Rutgers.
12:07Plays well beyond his years.
12:08He's only 19 years old.
12:09Plays with a lot of confidence, and he has a lot of patience.
12:14Didn't shoot the ball as well last game, but always a factor with his team,
12:18but putting pressure on the rim.
12:19Bridges all the way.
12:20Tried to finish it on a twister.
12:22Missed it.
12:23Clarkson in the game for New York.
12:25The long strides.
12:27Wemby gives it up for Barnes.
12:30Mike Brown coached Barnes and Fox in Sacramento when he was the head man there.
12:34Wemenyama puts it up, and there's no call.
12:38Barnes is there for the follow.
12:41He and Carl Anthony Towns got into it on that drive,
12:44and San Antonio takes a 17-12 lead.
12:48Timeout.
12:48Time pressure.
12:49Your job as a guard is to make sure you get two feet in the paint.
12:52What that does is it collapses the defense.
12:54It allows for your shooters, your other guys, your big guys.
12:57It allows for them to be able to get shots.
12:59This is your job.
13:00Make sure you continue to keep going until you're picked up.
13:03Cat made a move towards Castle.
13:05He hit the big guy, gave him an easy two.
13:09San Antonio is a 7-11 from the field so far.
13:13The Knicks are 5-12.
13:14And Castle's already got four assists in the game.
13:20Cassidy Hubbard was in the Mike Brown huddle.
13:22Cassidy.
13:23Yeah, and Mike was stressing,
13:24you can't give up easy putbacks because in this environment,
13:28the details matter.
13:29We have to be tight on the details
13:31and get better at putting bodies on bodies, guys.
13:35San Antonio did out-rebound OKC 52-51.
13:40They were down by 16 in that game early.
13:43The resilience of this young Spurs squad.
13:47The resilience in Victor Wimbenyama.
13:50Oh, yeah.
13:51Him, too.
13:53And an OB.
13:54Got a three.
13:55Wow.
13:56Listen, I had to text Coach Crean today and ask him about OG.
14:00And the first thing he said is he talked about his work.
14:03That's the same thing Coach Brown talked about is how hard this young man works on his game.
14:07And so you can see the work by watching him over his career to now.
14:11Just look how special he looks out on this floor.
14:13Oh, and it doesn't go down.
14:15Castle couldn't catch it cleanly.
14:17Tom Crean coached OG Ananobi at Indiana.
14:20Yeah, Coach Crean decided.
14:21Also, Coach Dwayne went.
14:22Coach Crean decided.
14:23Oh, yeah.
14:23That's who we are.
14:24That's why you have his number.
14:27Hard in a matchup with Wimbeny.
14:29Set it up.
14:30Ananobi against Castle.
14:32Ananobi, that was awkward.
14:34Kick it.
14:35Hard.
14:37The teardrop goes for Josh Hard.
14:39Well, as we expected, Ananobi matches up with Wimbenyama when he comes in the game.
14:46Smaller, stronger guys who can move their feet have had a little more success than everyone else against Wimbenyama.
14:53Nobody has a great deal of success.
14:56Harper misses on the running one-hander.
14:58Knicks push the tempo.
14:59Ananobi, they get Towns involved against Harper.
15:04Five minutes to go in this first quarter.
15:07Double team.
15:09Towns trying to get rid of it.
15:11Harper there.
15:12Wimbenyama.
15:13Oh, what a feed for Ananobi.
15:16That was a spicy dish.
15:19About the underhand slider.
15:21Wow.
15:22Barnes penetrates and scores.
15:25Well, there you go.
15:26You mentioned it earlier, Dwayne.
15:27He's been struggling the last couple games, shooting the three.
15:30Find a different way to help your team.
15:33He's getting to the bucket.
15:34That ends a 7-0 run.
15:36Down goes Wimbeny.
15:38Brunson switching hands.
15:41And a timeout called by the Spurs.
15:45Timeout.
15:46Same in Tokyo.
15:47Well, look at this from Towns.
15:50That's a great trap.
15:51Giving credit, he did not panic.
15:54And finds Ananobi on one of the best passes you'll ever see.
16:00Want to drive?
16:02By Marty Supreme, starring Timothee Chalamet.
16:05In theaters, Christmas.
16:07And by McDonald's.
16:13Former champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the first installment last year, the Milwaukee Bucks.
16:18Stan, you're the money guy, so you handle the finances.
16:21Well, listen.
16:22The runner-up gets $212,000, and the champion gets $530,000 per man.
16:27That's a lot of money for one night's work.
16:29More money, more money, more money.
16:30I mean, $212,000 is good, but you can get an extra $300,000 for one night's work?
16:35I may even take a charge for that.
16:37No.
16:39Clarkson, jump shot, doesn't go.
16:43Mitchell Robinson is in the game.
16:45Champagny is in, along with Keldon Johnson for San Antonio.
16:49Looked like a turnover going the other way, but there's a foul called in defending Wimbenyama.
16:55So it's going to be Robinson picking it up.
17:00Second team foul against New York.
17:03San Antonio will have it on the side, and De'Aaron Fox returns, replacing Castle.
17:10Well, New York didn't want to put Carl Anthony Towns on Wimbenyama because they need Towns offensively,
17:18and he's foul-prone, but Mitchell Robinson comes in the game.
17:22He does guard.
17:23San Antonio was a plus 21 with Wimbeny on the floor against OKC in his return from injury
17:29on Saturday night.
17:31Brunson gets to his spot, but comes up short.
17:33Ball gets poked to the outside, and the Spurs control it.
17:37We were talking to Coach Mitch about the physicality of the Knicks, and how do you make sure that
17:42you don't not play your game and make sure you stay in it?
17:46And he said, listen, we just got to control the controllable.
17:49We're going to try to make sure that we don't get involved at all.
17:51Everyone's control what we can't control.
17:53Dylan Harper's ability to get to the rim and finish in a crafty manner has tied this game at 21.
18:01Brunson gets the step, not going to challenge Wimbenyama, kick it out for Bridges.
18:08Now it's an open look.
18:09Brunson, bottom.
18:1524-21 Knicks, 7 for Brunson.
18:18It's coming off a 40-point game.
18:19Harper ditching out punishment, couldn't finish it.
18:22And Brunson lays out to save it, but Robinson couldn't catch it cleanly.
18:28Out of bounds.
18:29Coach, if Robinson would have jumped over this way, I was out of here.
18:32I thought you were going to protect me.
18:34No, Coach, I was out of here.
18:35And by the way, he was coming right at a stand.
18:38Well, you know what?
18:38I don't move quick enough to get out of the way, so I'm just going to have to take it.
18:43In fact, you did not move, left or right.
18:47Wimbenyama puts it off the window.
18:49He was ready to rebound it if it didn't go.
18:52Well, and probably would have, but that's a great finish.
18:55People question his strength at a young age, but we've seen several finishes like that from him.
19:01They just set a down screen for this 7-foot-plus big guy, Coach, to come off a down screen.
19:07Yeah, the game has changed a little bit.
19:10Fox, the pull-up three.
19:12Doesn't go.
19:13Rebound.
19:13It was kept alive by Johnson, and the Spurs control.
19:18Wimbeny wants to dance with Robinson.
19:20The three ball short.
19:22Rebounded by Hart.
19:25Knicks up by one.
19:26We approach two minutes to go here in the first.
19:31They've gone 9-1 with Hart in the starting lineup.
19:35Look, Hart last year led the league in minutes per game.
19:38And then he was coming off the bench to start the year.
19:41It was a little uncomfortable for him.
19:43The head and shoulder fake, the bucket, and the foul for Jalen Brunson.
19:48Jalen Brunson's the second leading first-quarter scorer in the league,
19:53and he's got a chance to get in double figures again with this free throw.
19:57Behind only Luka.
19:59Yeah, Luka's averaging 13 a game, over 13 a game in the first quarter.
20:04Brunson a little over 10.
20:07Well, Brunson, he does not rush, as we talked about at the beginning of the game.
20:11He's going to take everything at his own pace, and he just did it right there.
20:14He got past his defender, but he actually waited on him to come back a little bit.
20:18He didn't just go right into his shot.
20:20He wanted to make sure, Coach, he knew where he was.
20:23Well, and he knows now.
20:24The bigger, stronger Steph Castle's out of the game.
20:28So, not to knock any of the other defenders on the Spurs,
20:31but a little less of a challenge than he has with Castle.
20:35And one thing he's really, really good at, Coach,
20:37and it's something that I really worked on hard, was the reject.
20:39You know, he does a great job of setting, making you feel like he's going to come off the screen,
20:43but he rejects and go the opposite way.
20:45And a lot of defenders is always looking to get over the screen,
20:48and he goes the opposite way for it, and he gets them on his back.
20:52Harper misses off the rim.
20:54Ball got knocked around.
20:56Cornette couldn't grab it, and it's going to stay right here.
20:58A loose ball foul.
20:59Yeah, I always thought with you on the reject, Dwayne,
21:02what you were good at immediately when you came into the league is
21:06the defender would just turn his head a little bit
21:09and start looking for the screen, and you were gone.
21:12We had to talk to defenders about you.
21:15Just stay focused on his midsection.
21:17Don't be looking for the screen.
21:18Which is the hardest thing to do, right?
21:19It is when you have a screen coming from a big guy.
21:23Because you're looking for the screen.
21:24You don't want to get hit by it.
21:25Foul was on OG Adanobi.
21:27Fox ducks inside for the deuce.
21:31I had a prominent NBA coach after the game the other night.
21:36The Spurs in Oklahoma City text me and say,
21:39the rest of us are going to be looking up at those two teams for a long time.
21:44The Thunder and the Spurs.
21:46Brunson, swing, bridges, fires.
21:49Can't hit the three.
21:50Rebound, Adanobi.
21:51Set up for Clarkson, and he zigzags to the rim for two.
21:56Well, one thing we talked about,
21:57and OG does not have any plays ran for him, coach.
22:01He makes huge impacts on his team by his ability to be able to cut,
22:05ability to be able to shoot, offensive rebound,
22:07and he's become a better passer.
22:09Well, he's got three assists already.
22:11Ten points and three assists here in the first quarter
22:15while guarding Victor Wimbanyama in his first stint.
22:19Keldon Johnson's three ties the game at 28.
22:2338 seconds to go here in the opening quarter.
22:27Clarkson peaks at the clock.
22:28Five to shoot.
22:29High screen, Robinson.
22:31Clarkson lost it for a moment.
22:32In trouble.
22:33Clarkson has it blocked by Champagny.
22:35Shot clock violation.
22:36Champagny, one of the really undersung players on this team,
22:44off to a great start, averaging in double figures in less than 30 minutes a game.
22:49He has started when they needed him.
22:51Shoots 38% from three.
22:53Great corner three-point shooter, but also a very good rebound.
22:58And they have him on a four-year, $12 million deal.
23:04Well, this front office, we've talked about it the last couple days.
23:08This front office in San Antonio has just done a phenomenal job
23:12building a roster around Victor Wimbanyama.
23:16Well, no pun intended, but it's not their first rodeo.
23:19No.
23:19No.
23:20No.
23:20And this isn't even the rodeo trip for them.
23:22But they've been away for 22 days out of 24 on the road.
23:26Foul is called on the dribble drive by Fox.
23:29I'll tell you what.
23:30You guys are killing it tonight.
23:31We had the art museum.
23:32Now we've got the rodeo.
23:34You guys are killing it.
23:36Yeah.
23:36These are not rehearsed.
23:37I cannot keep up.
23:38I'm going to jot them down for you, Stan,
23:40so you can understand what we're talking about.
23:43Second foul on Robinson.
23:46De'Aaron Fox.
23:47And two free throws for De'Aaron Fox.
23:50This team getting healthy, having all their players available right now.

24:12Cornette will sit, and the Spurs will go smaller here for the final 10.4.
24:17I'm still waiting on the French Vanilla connection.
24:20I'm disappointed I haven't been able to, like, I'm saying it,
24:24but I haven't been able to get it off, really.
24:25So I'm waiting for the connection.
24:26And everybody is.
24:28And Luke Cornette is.
24:28We talked to him yesterday.
24:30Yeah.
24:30He's very excited about the chance to play with Wimbanyama.
24:33That's when Wimbanyama and Cornette are together, thus the French Vanilla.
24:39Brunson misses it at the buzzer.
24:43I'll translate any of the stuff you talk about all night.
24:46We're good.
24:47We're all in unison as we head to the second quarter.
24:50Good one between the Spurs and the New York Knicks with a trophy on the line.
24:56You're watching the Emirates NBA Cup Championship.
24:59Giannanovi doing a little bit of everything.
25:02We see the cut for the layup.
25:07Offensive rebound and then a great assist to Clarkson.
25:11And then a corner three over Victor Wimbanyama.
25:17Yeah, Coach, Dirk mentioned pregame that OG reached out to him last year.
25:21He wanted to know every little detail about feet, position of hands, breathing,
25:26where his eyes should go.
25:27He talked to him about his finger position on the ball.
25:29And I don't think there's nobody better to reach out to than Dirk anyway.
25:32So smart man.
25:33No, there is not.
25:34And you know what?
25:36Our studio crew all year has done a great job of educating fans.
25:40And also, Ian, I think us as role models has finally paid off.
25:45They really look sharp tonight.
25:47The sharpest they've looked all year.
25:49I think they finally followed our lead.
25:51Yeah, they suited up.
25:52They suited up.
25:53Pure pressure.
25:53You see his three ass in that white coat.
25:54Yeah.
25:55Woo!
25:56Keldon Johnson out of the timeout.
25:57Cornette doing damage on the interior.
26:00Well, New York trying to give San Antonio a little different look coming out zone
26:04to start the quarter.
26:06But that's always tough to rebound out of.
26:09Tyler Kolick is in.
26:11Bridges connects from the outside.
26:14Well, Lou Cornette has the best backup in the history of backups.
26:19Yeah, that is true.
26:20And I mean, Ian mentioned in our own pregame meeting that he could have a chance to be six
26:27man of the year.
26:27Sham Petty hits it from the outside.
26:32It's a three.
26:33I think Wemby, if they really start pushing the narrative now and get the marketing plan
26:38going, sixth man of the year.
26:40A hundred percent.
26:41I don't even think you need to market.
26:42Just keep bringing him off the bench.
26:43He'll win.
26:44Yeah, that's going to change pretty soon.
26:46Ananobi got bumped.
26:48And he cans it.
26:49The hoop and the horn for OG Ananobi.
26:52Coach OG got better.
26:54Oh, absolutely.
26:56OG got better.
26:57Well, you know, Dwayne.
26:58I mean, you either get better in this league or people pass you by.
27:01Yes, they do.
27:02So, fun fact about OG in high school, all the kids out there that's listened to the
27:07game, he was ranked 278.
27:10Okay, guys, keep working.
27:11Keep believing.
27:12Keep asking questions to people who are greater, who are in positions, and that was willing to
27:17help you out, and you could become.
27:20A guy may end up being an all-star this year, the way he's playing.
27:23I'll tell you what.
27:24I mean, we're seeing what he's doing offensively tonight, and that's not even his strength.
27:28His strength's on the defensive end of the floor.
27:31Let's get more from Cassidy.
27:32Yeah, OG told me he grew up mirroring his game after his former teammate Kawhi Leonard
27:36and a little bit of Jimmy Butler.
27:38He says he still talks with Kawhi on occasion, but he said he really picked his brain when
27:42they won a title together.
27:43And one of the biggest lessons he learned from Kawhi is composure.
27:46He said he looked up to Kawhi's ability to remain even-keeled and not get rattled in
27:50big moments, and he's stepping up in the big moments tonight, guys.
27:53And big moments for Mikel Bridges.
27:56He just quietly goes about his business.
27:58All the time, and he's available, as we know, every single night.
28:03That was a nice pass from Tyler Kolek, though, knowing that they're going to switch the step
28:07up.
28:08Got him the ball in a good spot.
28:09He's able to hit that fadeaway.
28:11Last possession was a three-ball for Harper.
28:13He's trying to do it again, and does!
28:15Cha-ching for Dylan Harper.
28:17He got the same shots, right?
28:19Same shots last game that he did knock down, and now tonight in rhythm, shooting him, confidence,
28:23knocking him down.
28:24Well, and he's only shooting 26% from three coming into this game.
28:29It only made 10-3.
28:31Bridges couldn't answer.
28:33Towns flunked it home off the offensive rebound.
28:36And we know that Towns can shoot the ball, but he's also one of the best offensive rebounders.
28:41Off top, Cornette stuffs it.
28:44That's no better way to throw the lob than put it right on top of the basket.
28:48All you got to do is just tap it in.
28:50This game has 22 assists and three turnovers combined between the two teams.
28:55Well, they're both low-turnover teams.
28:58New York especially.
29:00Fox couldn't hit the three.
29:02Johnson feeds it.
29:04Extra champagne pops.
29:06And missed it.
29:07But the two things I see that mirrors each other with both of these teams is they trust each other, Coach.
29:14They move that ball around.
29:15They're not taking selfish shots.
29:17They're not taking a lot of contested shots.
29:18They're getting the best shot for their team.
29:21Fox.
29:22Hart gets his hands on it.
29:24And a turnover.
29:25Get it ahead.
29:26And Anobi is going to drive it.
29:28Bank it.
29:28No good.
29:29But a foul.
29:33Yeah, this is the best way you can lob this ball to him right here.
29:36Look, don't even worry about putting it right over the rim.
29:39All you got to do is just guide it in.
29:41But just eyes up.
29:43Darren Fox coming down the court.
29:44Looking forward to just scanning the court.
29:46Seeing what's going on.
29:47Eyes up the whole time.
29:48He sees that he has a step on Cat.
29:51Throws it right to the rim.
29:52He don't have to do much work, Coach.
29:54Just reach his arms up and just put it in the basket.
29:56Second foul called on Harper.
29:59Live update presented by Fandor.
30:03San Antonio minus two and a half.
30:05The over-under, 239 and a half.
30:08Cornette sits.
30:09He spent his first two years in the NBA with the New York Knicks.
30:13Has been with Chicago, with Boston, with Cleveland, with Milwaukee.
30:17San Antonio signs him to a four-year, $41 million deal.
30:22They won a bunch of games with Victor Wembenyama.
30:25Out with injury.
30:27And Cornette was a big reason why.
30:29Stabilizing the position.
30:30Out of bounds off of two misses by Ananobi.
30:33But the Knicks are going to hold on to it.
30:35Robinson limping a bit.
30:37Yeah.
30:37Luke Cornette.
30:38They were 9-3 without Wembenyama.
30:41Luke Cornette.
30:42What I admire about him, he transformed his game.
30:44This guy came into the league as a stretch five.
30:48Had some injuries that disrupted his shooting motion.
30:52He's never gotten it back.
30:54He adapted, and now he's a pick-and-roll guy.
30:57He's a great rim protector and a great rebounder.
31:00Tyler Kolek knocks it in from the outside.
31:03Well, he's just a positive every time he comes into the game.
31:06Tyler's going to do something positive for his team.
31:08Fox splits defenders, and can't get the teardrop.
31:13Get it ahead for Kolek.
31:15Three-point lead for the Spurs.
31:19Spread it.
31:21Challenge the fake.
31:22Gets around Shantetti.
31:23And it's Tim Tone.
31:25But it was on the cylinder.
31:27Robinson won't count.
31:28Well, now the Knicks with the double-big lineup.
31:31This would be the chance, maybe, Dwayne, for French vanilla.
31:35No, I'm waiting.
31:38The double-big lineup.
31:39Right now, San Antonio leads that category 20-18.
31:43Fast break has not been a key here.
31:46Wembenyama.
31:47Another pin down.
31:48You got your guard.
31:49You got your guard screening down for your bid to come off for a catch-and-shoot.
31:55It's incredible.
31:55Ooh, cookies.
31:57The steal.
31:57Foul is blocked by Kolek.
32:01There was a foul called.
32:04Well, but look, not only are you screening down for Wembenyama,
32:10well, great effort, though, there by Kolek.
32:14But you're screening down for Wembenyama.
32:15How many times do you think Mitchell Robinson's worked on getting through pin downs?
32:21That's not much.
32:22He's a rim protector.
32:24He's a pick-and-roll defender.
32:26He's not defending pin downs.
32:28Yeah, well, that's smart, once again, on the coaching staff.
32:31Understanding the guy's coming in.
32:33Yes, he's really effective in his game.
32:34That's getting in there, getting second chances.
32:36But he probably has not been in this position before.
32:39So let's put him in this position over and over again.
32:42Well, and Udonis talked in our pregame show about how people feel about Mitch Johnson as a head coach,
32:50that he's soon going to be a household name up there with anybody.
32:54He's the third-youngest guy in the league.
32:57It's Missoula and Hardy, the other two.
32:59Right, and just going to be a great coach, learned at the feet of Greg Popovich, so to speak,
33:05and just to be able to follow a legend like that, not easy.
33:09Not easy.
33:1146-40.
33:13San Antonio leads it.
33:15Flip it up.
33:17Robinson couldn't convert.
33:19Towns with a blind pass towards the rim.
33:22And the Knicks were going to hold on to it.
33:24Little Harlem Globetrotter vibe right there.
33:29I don't know if he could have.
33:30I would have liked to have seen Mitchell Robinson try to get two hands on that one and dunk it.
33:39Shot clock has been reset to 24.
33:44So they deem that San Antonio actually had possession for a moment before the Knicks got it back.
33:49Brunson one-on-one with Fox.
33:51Gets around him.
33:53And he missed it.
33:55Robinson blocked.
33:57Wimbanyama a factor.
33:58Kolek.
33:59It bounces off the rim.
34:02Rebound rolls out to Robinson.
34:04He tries to lean in.
34:05Can't finish it.
34:06And the ball ricochets out of bounds.
34:08And with that block by Wimbanyama, that's 99 straight blocks.
34:1499 straight games with a block.
34:17Only two streaks longer in NBA history.
34:20The great Patrick Ewing with 145.
34:24And his former college teammate, Dikembe Mutombo, with 116 straight games.
34:30And a foul on Fox.
34:32The Knicks have missed their last six shots.
34:36They trail the Spurs by six.
34:39We've got a timeout in Vegas.
34:40And NBA legend supported the first ever NBA Total Health Fair presented by Evernorth Health Services to provide hundreds of families with immediate resources and preventative care.
34:52Families receive no-cost health screenings, fresh groceries, haircuts, paired with positive health conversations, and a chance to join a national registry of blood stem cell donors.
35:04Good work in the community.
35:06Adam Silver is here.
35:08Jay Marine from Prime Video.
35:12Flanking him.
35:13Deep in conversation.
35:14Well, and I just got to say something here about our interview with Adam Silver in the pre-game show.
35:19You know we're all one team here at Amazon.
35:22But we're in the locker room sometimes, Dwayne.
35:24You have tensions, and it's good.
35:26They were claiming that that was Adam Silver's prime debut.
35:31That's not true.
35:32Our Cassidy Hubbard had Adam Silver on our very first game, October 24th.
35:40They're trying to take credit for something that Cassidy deserves credit for.
35:44Thanks for clarifying, Stan.
35:46Oh, gee, Anna Noby.
35:48Money from the outside.
35:49It's a three.
35:50I'll tell you, that work with Dirk seems to be paying off.
35:52Man, I'm saying.
35:54What is it, Dirk?
35:54The two fingers?
35:55What is it?
35:57I need to know that.
35:58It works.
35:58I've got to talk to my kids about that one.
36:00He's got 16 points to lead all scorers.
36:04Barnes feeds the post.
36:05Wemenyama is fouled by Robinson.
36:09That is going to be number three on Mitchell Robinson.
36:16He's got four offensive rebounds, but he also has three personal fouls.
36:20Yeah, you just want Mitchell Robinson just to keep his hand straight up.
36:23Let Wimby make a tough shot.
36:24If he makes it, you pat him on a button.
36:26You go the other way.
36:28Yeah, because the guy's an 84% free throw shooter.
36:30So you don't have an advantage sending him to the line.
36:33But watch this.
36:37This is important.
36:39This cross screen.
36:40Wemenyama's not coming off the screen by Castle to run to the block.
36:46He stops right under the rim.
36:49Karl Malone used to do this back in the day.
36:52They'd set that cross screen often with John Stockton.
36:55He would just seal you in the paint.
36:57That's something if you're a young big guy coming off the cross screen,
37:01you want to catch that ball in the paint.
37:03And Harrison Barnes was ready to deliver.
37:07Coach, going back to the beginning of the game, what was Wimby working on?
37:10He was working on his balance.
37:11He had a coach pushing him, working on his balance.
37:13And so when he stops and the guy pushes him, he's so used to it.
37:16That gives him the confidence right there to not run all the way out to the low block with a three.
37:21Just stop right there.
37:23This is small against very big.
37:25And Brunson is crafty, but he couldn't finish it.
37:28It's a five on four right now.
37:29Brunson sets the feet.
37:32In and out on the jump shot, rebounded by Castle.
37:34The cutter.
37:35Oh!
37:36Brunson on the rock attack.
37:41Wow.
37:42That is seven assists already for Steph Castle.
37:47Well, Castle's doing an incredible job of eating up space when he comes up the court.
37:50He's not known as a shooter, so they're going to give him a step, Coach.
37:53And that's one thing that I love.
37:55I came in.
37:55I wasn't a shooter that gave me a step.
37:57Well, I ate up the space, and I was able to get down the paint often.
38:00I mean, Devin was so wild.
38:02And then Castle comes right back at the defensive end, refuses to switch a small, small screen.
38:08He got over the top, wanted to stay on Brunson, and did.
38:12And a turnover.
38:15Wemby ahead.
38:17Castle puts it down.
38:20Up high for Stephon Castle.
38:24The assist from Wemby.
38:26What'd they call him?
38:28Pondable Express?
38:29Wow.
38:30I'll tell you what, Wemby with the steel, Castle finishing it strong.
38:41Seven.
38:42This Thursday, the Los Angeles Rams stampede into Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
38:48It's a showdown for the number one seed in the NFC.
38:51Thursday night football coverage begins at 7 Eastern, only on Prime.
38:55But, Spike Lee, always on hand when it comes to the Knicks.
39:01James Worthy met a world piece.
39:04Yeah.
39:05Chris Bosh.
39:06Yeah, there you go.
39:08RJ and Danny Green.
39:12Shout out to Chris Bosh.
39:13He helped me get two championships.
39:15I appreciate him.
39:16I'm going to run over and give him a hug right now.
39:19There were a lot of championships between the guys we showed right there.
39:23And Spike Lee's hoping he gets himself one, Ian.
39:27It's 50-43.
39:29San Antonio in front.
39:32Bridgetts back in.
39:34Tries to turn the corner on Castle.
39:36He will fade short.
39:38Towns couldn't grab it.
39:39It was tapped by Webb and Nyama.
39:41Good line.
39:42Oh!
39:43Off the rim!
39:44He tried the acrobatic finish.
39:48Out of bounds.
39:49Oh, man.
39:50Oh, the foul.
39:51Loose ball foul on Castle.
39:54Going for this rebound.
39:55Wow.
39:56That would have brought the house down.
39:57My heart rate ain't got up that high in a long time, Coach.
40:00Oh, man.
40:01Oh, he just lost it.
40:05So, the foul on Castle.
40:09That is the 14th foul against San Antonio.
40:12Under five minutes to play first half.
40:14Coach, I'm on the Castle bandwagon.
40:15I'm on the train.
40:16I'm fully on it.
40:17I got first-class tickets.
40:19VIP.
40:20Give me the stand crush on Steph Castle.
40:24Off the miss by Towns.
40:26Harper penetrates.
40:27Kicks.
40:28Shooting practice.
40:29Barnes can't hit the three.
40:30Well, he's been cold from three here in Las Vegas.
40:3441% on the season.
40:36Need to call Dirk.
40:37Yeah, he needs to get back.
40:38That's a good point.
40:40Anybody who struggles, get with Dirk.
40:43Brunson across the lane for two.
40:45You know, but the one thing Mitch Johnson's going to be really happy about at halftime,
40:52he talked to us before the game.
40:54He didn't want Towns and Brunson on the free throw line.
40:58Brunson shot one free throw, Towns none.
41:01Rhythm jump shot doesn't go.
41:03And a foul is called underneath.
41:05The upcoming national TV schedule tomorrow on NBA TV.
41:11The Grizzlies are at Minnesota Friday on Prime Video.
41:15The Sixers and the Knicks.
41:17The Timberwolves hosting the Thunder.
41:19Go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app for more.
41:22So, a foul against Ananobi.
41:25Sorry, I love the way Mitch Johnson talked about Stephon Castle.
41:31And he talked about how they looked at him as a McDonald's All-American in high school.
41:35And then how he went to college at UConn and became a defender.
41:38He said, I would just guard the other team's best player.
41:41So, when you look at a guy like that, you understand all his qualities and his abilities
41:45and what he can accomplish and what he's willing to do.
41:48And you know he's about one thing.
41:50He's about winning.
41:51Towns just got hammered by Harper.
41:55And to me, Dwayne, that's the biggest thing.
41:57You know, when we had our NBA on Prime seminar,
42:01I remember Udonis Haslam was up on the podium,
42:04and they were talking about what stats do you look at and everything else.
42:08And I loved it because it got to Udonis.
42:10He said, all I want to know is, does he win?
42:15That's it.
42:16That's the name of the game.
42:17And that's what Stephon Castle has done.
42:21Sounds simple, doesn't it?
42:23So, Harper picks up his third foul.
42:26They are over the limit.
42:28Towns to the free throw line where he shoots it at 88%.
42:31The Knicks are one of four collectively tonight at the strike.
42:37There you go, the reverse announcer, Jinks.
42:40You just throw it out there.
42:42You see where fate takes us.
42:45I mean, maybe it has something to do with the fact that he's an 88% free throw shooter.
42:49Well, I'm smart about it.
42:50But I'm going to give you the credit.
42:51I don't say it before Mitchell Robinson.
42:54No, true.
42:55Good point.
42:56I save it.
42:58Harper to the bench.
43:00Fox back in.
43:01You mentioned the assist from Castle.
43:03He's got seven.
43:04So does Fox.
43:06They have 15 assists here in the first half.
43:09On 20 buckets.
43:10The lead is three for San Antonio.
43:18Half court set.
43:19Castle maneuvers.
43:22Fends off.
43:23Hangs.
43:24Doesn't get the roll, but he is going to the free throw line.
43:26I feel like he's been in the paint every time he's had the ball tonight.
43:30Absolutely.
43:30Any time he wants to be, and he's so strong, he gets that shoulder.
43:35He knocked Josh Hart back like six feet.
43:38Josh Hart's strong as heck.
43:39Yeah, we talked about that with Desmond Bang, how we love the way that he allured that shoulder,
43:43how he put that shoulder in the center of the defender's chest.
43:46He just did it going left.
43:48Hit him.
43:48Josh Hart went back.
43:50And the natural reaction for a defender is to come right back at you.
43:53And that's how he got the foul.
43:55Absolutely.
43:55And look, it's important that he's dropping the shoulder and not extending the arm out.
44:01That's an easy offensive foul call for the official.
44:04But you can get away with dropping that shoulder.
44:06Castle, for a young guy to have learned that already,
44:09he does it great.
44:11Castle's dad, Stacy, played college hoops at Wake Forest in Central Florida.
44:16He was the Big East freshman of the year for UConn,
44:19then wins the Rookie of the Year award in his first season with San Antonio.
44:24What did he say to us?
44:25He said, it's already written.
44:27That was his motto, it's already written.
44:29He just has to put the work in.
44:31He believes in himself.
44:33Feed it.
44:34Castle defending Towns.
44:35Eight to shoot.
44:37Oh, that's nice.
44:38That's Dirk.
44:39I like Dirk.
44:41Okay.
44:41There's a lot of Dirk going on up in here.
44:43Yeah, I think Dirk must have been working with the entire New York Knicks team.
44:46He barely has a service.
44:49Castle answers with the bucket.
44:51Dirk needs some percentages of the winning.
44:53He does.
44:53The Knicks win.
44:54He needs some percentages of the winning.
44:56I agree with that.
44:57Five-point lead for San Antonio.
44:59Quick move.
44:59Knock away Castle.
45:00But it's right there for Brunson to finish it around the rim.
45:06I'll tell you what.
45:07The play we've had here in Vegas in the three games has been high level.
45:1213 for Jalen Brunson.
45:15Castle.
45:15Swing it.
45:16Fox.
45:16Extra.
45:17Vassell the ball fake.
45:19Upstairs.
45:20Cornette.
45:21It's knocked away by Brunson.
45:24Out of bounds.
45:25Brunson's known as a shot clock.
45:30Five seconds on the shot clock.
45:32How about the last Castle made?
45:32The left hand pass.
45:33The left hand zipped it to the corner.
45:36Get it in for Vassell.
45:37Rises up.
45:39Rebound controlled by Hart.
45:41Up the floor in a hurry.
45:42Brunson.
45:43Attack mode.
45:45And Hart is there.
45:47The cleanup by Hart trailing the play.
45:50Well, how about Hart?
45:51Defensive rebound.
45:52Outlet pass.
45:54Sprint down the floor.
45:56Offensive rebound and put back.
45:58That's the kind of effort that wins you games.
46:00It literally is Hart.
46:02Yeah.
46:02Yeah, it's spelled a little different.
46:03But it's his will.
46:04It's his determination to just not let up and not quit on anything.
46:08Some would say a Hart attack.
46:10I wouldn't, but some would.
46:13Castle.
46:14And a no be there.
46:18And it is Cornette on the inside.
46:21Just too big.
46:23He's five of six from the field.
46:25That count that is a missed shot from Castle.
46:27I think it was a lob.
46:28And I'm serious on this one.
46:30I think he was throwing the lob to Cornette.
46:32I need to see it, coach.
46:33I want to give you his eight assist.
46:34I need to see how the risk go.
46:35That's going to let me know if it was a pass or a shot.
46:37He picks up the foul on the other end.
46:39That's going to send Brunson to the free throw line.
46:41No, that's a shot, coach.
46:44No, that's a pass.
46:46See, here's the thing.
46:48When I've got a stand crush on somebody, Ian, objectivity goes out the window.
46:52You get the benefit of the doubt.
46:54That's absolutely right.
46:54All right, let's go to the box score.
46:56It was a shot.
46:57Yeah, I know.
46:58But you know what they say.
46:59Love is blind.
47:00That's excellent.
47:01Castle, was that a shot?
47:03He ain't an answer.
47:04No, he's locked in.
47:05He's locked in.
47:05No, that's a shot, coach.
47:07No, no.
47:08No, no.
47:09That's my stand crush.
47:11Yes.
47:11That's an assist.
47:13The fact that two brilliant basketball minds could look at the same pictures and have completely
47:19different opinions.
47:20I can't be objective about someone I have a crush on.
47:22That's what makes the game great.
47:2456-55.
47:25The Spurs lead is down to one.
47:27Brunson now with 15 points.
47:35Drive and kick.
47:36Vassell put it on the board.
47:38It's a three.
47:39Wow.
47:40He's now the leading scorer for San Antonio in the game with 12.
47:46You know, I was really impressed with how last game, I think he missed probably his first
47:49three or four threes last game, and then he wound up hitting some big ones down the stretch,
47:53hit about three or four.
47:54But he does not see the defender underneath him.
47:57He has a high release point.
47:58He jumps high on his shot.
48:00He does not see the closeout.
48:01Towns misses on a three ball.
48:03Brunson tries to keep it alive, but ends up on his backside.
48:06Vassell averaging over 19 in the Emirates Cup games, only 14 and a half otherwise.
48:12Bridges tries to save it off the deflection, and it's out of bounds.
48:15Last touch by New York.
48:17Breaking news.
48:18The future is bright in San Antonio.
48:21Oh, man.
48:21This is like drafting a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes.
48:24You've got a 15-year run when you see these young guys.
48:28Wow.
48:28I'll tell you what.
48:30It's Brian Wright, Adam Glessner, the rest of the front office in San Antonio.
48:37A great job.
48:38And probably even Mitch Johnson said to us before the game, nobody saw this coming.
48:44They thought they could be good, but nobody saw this coming.
48:48And Ariel Hupporty checks in, so seeing some action with one minute to go in this second quarter.
48:55He's going to match up with Cornette.
48:56Where did he go to school, Dwight?
48:59Ariel Hupporty?
49:00Where did he go to school, coach?
49:01I don't know.
49:02He's from Germany.
49:04Fox drives in.
49:06Cornette kick.
49:08Champagny misses on a three ball, and it's rebounded by Bridges.
49:12Uh-oh.
49:13Here we go.
49:14Brunson.
49:15Fake on a three.
49:16Under a minute to go in this first half.
49:18Adenobi.
49:19Oh, the second effort.
49:22Excuse me, OG.
49:25And he's strong, too.
49:26We forgot to say he'd be in the weight room, too, coach.
49:28Man.
49:29When he talked about it, his brother played football.
49:30He did.
49:31He's got a brother who played football, as well.
49:32OG Adenobi's brother, Chigbo.
49:34Older brother.
49:35Defensive tackle.
49:36Hupporty gets it ahead.
49:38I'm on the OG train, too.
49:42I'm on the OG train, too.
49:44He's got 20.
49:46Adenobi taking it right down the strip.
49:50Them Tom Creed disciples, I tell you.
49:53There's a three and a half second difference.
49:55Shot clock to game clock.
49:56We are tied at 59.
49:59Fox gets through the first wave.
50:01Fakes out Hupporty and gets it to go.
50:04De'Aaron Fox with a little bit of sauce.
50:07Four seconds left.
50:09Hupport lines it up.
50:10Misses on a three ball.
50:11Bridges.
50:12He touched it with two-tenths of a second on the clock.
50:17Coach, OG's doing a little bit of everything.
50:19Look.
50:19Oh, man.
50:20He blocked it.
50:21He still got it up.
50:22Get in the weight room, Luke.
50:23That's what he told him.
50:24But just right here, this, obviously, he deserved to have this.
50:27But he's doing a little bit of everything.
50:28He scored in the quarter, shoot three.
50:31He's cut to the basket.
50:32Got it.
50:32He got a butter roll underneath pass for Cat for a dog.
50:35He's done everything tonight.
50:37Fun one here in Vegas.
50:40Stay tuned for the half presented by AT&T.
50:43Taylor Rooks, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Blake Griffin, Udonis Haslam, the whole crew ready
50:49to go.
50:50Let's send it over to Cassidy Hubbard.
50:51You had seven assists out of 16 team assists.
50:59What was your approach to get everyone involved there in that first half?
51:03Just trying to establish our pace early, touch the paint when I can, and then just trying
51:07to collect the defense.
51:08We've got a lot of shooters, so I'll just be able to find them.
51:10And your quickness and ball pressure was on full display in that first half.
51:14What should be the conversation at the half to take control in the second?
51:19We've got to bring it up to another notch.
51:21Keep them off the offensive glass.
51:23I feel like that's one of their skills.
51:25They're one of the best in the league at that, so trying to take that away from them and then
51:28keep pressing their guards.
51:29Thanks for your time.
51:30Good luck in the second half.
51:3121-year-old from Covington, Georgia.
51:34Cassidy, thanks so much.
51:35Stephon Castle helping to lead the way for this upstart Spurs squad.
51:39They have very much derived.
51:42Halftime, you're watching the Emirates NBA Cup Championship on Prime.
51:52Welcome on in.
51:53We are halfway home at the NBA Cup Final.
51:56The Spurs lead 61-59.
51:58I'm Taylor Rooks with Jordan Vizky, Steve Nash, Blake Griffin, and Udonis Haslam.
52:02Spurs led by as much as seven in that first half, but the Knicks are within striking distance.
52:06Steve, what'd you see?
52:07We got ourselves a game.
52:08You know, this is a high-quality basketball game.
52:10Money's on the line.
52:11You know, for most of the half, I thought San Antonio was better.
52:14I thought they limited them to tougher opportunities defensively.
52:17I thought they got out and played with Temple.
52:19But here we are.
52:19The New York Knicks found their way back into the game with their experience.
52:22I love that we're seeing effort.
52:23Like, that's why the New York Knicks were able to get back in this game.
52:27That's what fans want to see this time of year.
52:30That's what the Cup is doing, is bringing effort.
52:32I can't wait for the second half.
52:34It's a pretty even game, honestly.
52:36The rebounds are even.
52:37The shooting percentage are even from the floor and from the three.
52:40Some great individual performances that get going.
52:42OG's hot for the Knicks, playing really well.
52:45Got some Spurs guys playing well here.
52:47Here's OG making some shots.
52:49Over Wemby, outstretched arms.
52:51Too little.
52:52He's doing a little bit of everything on the fast break.
52:55Here's an up and under and one.
52:57Give me that.
52:59He's on the fast break.
53:00Duncan, you know what he's doing.
53:03Bringing it defensively.
53:04So he's playing really well for the Knicks.
53:05Another supervision game for him.
53:07Man, and with the even game right now, I'm looking at the benches.
53:0918 to 5 in favor of San Antonio.
53:11So this is something that New York has dealt with when they moved Josh Harden to that.
53:14So looking at second half for that bench to get going,
53:17or maybe Mike Brown mixes up those matchups a little bit,
53:19getting some of those starters in with that second group.
53:20For the Spurs, what do you need to see from Wemby?
53:25Well, Wemby hasn't had a great rhythm.
53:27I think he forced a couple shots.
53:29I think he knows his stretches are short.
53:31So it almost looks like he's a little rushed at times.
53:34I think he needs to let the game come to him a little bit,
53:36like he did in the second half of last game on Saturday.
53:39But he'll be fine.
53:40He's out there.
53:41He's a factor.
53:41He's long on defense.
53:42So he'll be great.
53:43What we love defensively from the guards,
53:45they're really picking up Brunson early.
53:47They're making him work.
53:49He's not having that normal, efficient game like he had on Saturday.
53:53The castle is doing a great job defensively on him,
53:56picking him up early, picking up full court.
53:58And, yeah, they're playing well.
54:01Yeah.
54:01Victor Wemby, we're going to see if he turns it up there in the second half.
54:05But Devin Rissell leading the Spurs with 12 points,
54:09having an excellent game for San Antonio.
54:12We'll be back with more after the break.
54:21Watch the second half on NBA Prime Vision with Above the Rim.
54:26Oh, look at that dime.
54:28How a point guard sees it, kind of like Steve Nash,
54:30plus real-time overlays and advanced data.
54:32NBA Prime Vision is live.
54:34Just click down on your remote to check it out now.
54:36Time now for the AT&T Fan Clutch call line,
54:42where we answer fans' biggest questions about the NBA.
54:45And the fan question tonight comes all the way from Hawaii.
54:51Hey, guys.
54:52Just enjoying the Steelers here in Hawaii
54:53as the Knicks are about to win the NBA Cup.
54:57I'm recording this before halftime, but I'm very confident.
55:01My question would be,
55:03when is Jalen Brunson going to get the respect he deserves
55:05in terms of being in the MVP conversation?
55:08And the second part of that question is,
55:11shouldn't Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, Mikael Bridges,
55:14and OGN and Obi all be in the All-Star Game 2?
55:17And lastly, Udonis, I hope we're good.
55:22Much respect.
55:23Blake, Steve, Dirk, Taylor,
55:26thanks for asking me to ask my question.
55:29And go Knicks.
55:30Let's go Knicks!
55:32I love it.
55:33Shout out to Ben and Tommy for getting us that video.
55:36But what's your answer?
55:37When are we going to start talking Jalen Brunson MVP?
55:40Well, first and foremost, when he says your name, you made it.
55:42You've done something.
55:43You did something.
55:44So I'm proud that you said my name.
55:46But he's gotten the respect from us.
55:48The real hoop heads, the real hoopers know how great Jalen Brunson is
55:51and what he brings to the game.
55:52So in our mind, he has the respect from us.
55:54Now, there ain't no damn way we're going to put all of them in the All-Star Game.
55:57I can't do that for you, Ben.
55:59He didn't ask for much, did he?
56:01No, yeah.
56:02Also, spoken like a true Knick fan.
56:03Mike Brown, Coach of the Year.
56:05Landry Shammish, Sixth Man of the Year.
56:07Everybody all defense, MVP, All-Stars.
56:10That's it?
56:11That's all.
56:11Pick all the accolades.
56:13Simple request there.
56:14Now, you can submit your questions by sending a direct message to
56:17at NBAOnPrime social handles for a chance to have them answered right here
56:21on the Fan Clutch call line.
56:23Do we have any predictions on how this is going to end?
56:25You're up, Dirk.
56:26Oh, man.
56:27It's a super tight game.
56:28It could go both ways.
56:29I picked Spurs pregame.
56:30I'm going to stick with it.
56:32All right.
56:32Let's see.
56:32We will know the answer very quickly.
56:34One half left to go in the NBA Cup Final.
56:36We've got a good one in Las Vegas.
56:38We'll catch you in Nightcap.
56:44The Half is presented by AT&T.
56:47A new way for you to connect to the NBA with AT&T's Ball for All.
56:51Enter now for your chance to win NBA League Pets.
56:56Spurs on top of the Knicks.
56:5861-59.
57:00Ian Eagle along with the coach, Stan Van Gundy.
57:02Hall of Famer, Dwayne Wade.
57:04Cassidy Hubberth on the sideline.
57:05This championship game is being played at an exceptionally high level, Dwayne.
57:09And for the Knicks, big numbers for OG Ananobi.
57:13Well, I asked Coach Crane.
57:14I said, give me one word about OG.
57:16He said, religious worker.
57:17He has put the work in.
57:19Reaching out to Dirk.
57:20So do the work he's willing to put in.
57:22His shots are incredible.
57:24He's an incredible cutter.
57:25He's a great offensive rebounder.
57:27He's become a better passer.
57:28He seems to be a great teammate.
57:30He's a good defender.
57:31I mean, the guy does everything.
57:32On the other side, we officially have a new Stan Crush.
57:36Well, the Stan Crush is always guys who play hard and do a lot of different things at both ends.
57:43Steph Castle with seven assists.
57:45You see two of them here.
57:47But he's a great defender at the other end.
57:51And he certainly can finish when he needs to.
57:54Tonight's Stan Crush.
58:01So, Castle with six points, but seven assists.
58:04His fingerprints have been all over this game.
58:07Ananobi has gone for 20 points to lead New York.
58:11Now let's listen in on some prime access.
58:13Moments ago, Mitch Johnson addressing his team.
58:17Continue with the pace.
58:18Can't blink with the physicality and the aggressiveness defensive.
58:22Let's go.
