00:00Okay, this is part of the items that we have in the collection of St. John's General Archives.
00:07Some of these are Bibles, some of these are historical books.
00:12This one here, these two here are two volumes of history of the Bible going back to 1733.
00:18But we've got a range of books here.
00:21Some of them belong to the Reverend Brown who was the longest serving rector in St. John's back in the 19th century.
00:29There are old Bibles, there are old prayer books and the like, minute books.
00:36There's some record-keeping articles of inquiry.
00:40In those days they had to keep articles of inquiry to justify what they were doing in the early days of the colony.
00:49We've got some very early documents here.
00:51This one here is a Bible which was used on the lectern.
00:56And the interesting thing about this is how they had to change the Bible from the sovereign Queen Victoria to King Edward.
01:07So this shows us history and shows just a little bit of interest where it was changed by the rector of the day.
