00:00Logan is pure happiness.
00:04Raw and uncut happiness.
00:09Amazing.
00:10Logan looks like his father, but he acts just
00:12like me and my mother.
00:14And he's very outspoken, very sure, very funny.
00:19We like to draw.
00:21Oh, he's the greatest.
00:23Logan is my miracle baby.
00:24Like, Logan is amazing.
00:26He's funny, and he likes to cook at four.
00:31And we like to do that together.
00:34We make my mother's biscuits together.
00:37Well, Tamar and Logan, they love making my biscuits.
00:40The whole family love making my biscuits.
00:42Logan have the recipe.
00:44Maybe I shouldn't say this, but he have the recipe.
00:47And he knows exactly what to do, because the baby
00:50was eating the biscuits, for God's sake,
00:53ever since he was six months old.
00:55He was making the biscuits ever since he was six months old.
00:59So he and Tamar, I think when they think about me a lot,
01:03they will make my biscuits.
01:05And Logan will call and say, my mom, my mom,
01:07I'm making your biscuits.
01:09I said, OK, send me one across the field.
01:12And we laugh.
01:13But I think that's the closeness and the relationship that,
01:18through the biscuits, that they have established with me.
01:22And he actually makes an incredible glass of lemonade.
01:26We go picking the lemons from behind the house,
01:32and he makes a good glass of lemonade.
01:34I live my life for me, and since Logan,
01:38I live my life for us, because I have to make sure I'm happy
01:42to be the best person for him.
01:45And his happiness means the world to me.
01:50You know, me being a good example of a woman means the world to me.
01:55I realize my responsibility is not just to be his mother.
01:59My responsibility is to be Logan's mother,
02:03who is raising the most amazing black man
02:08that I can possibly have control over.
02:11You know, and that is just making sure that he understands that his education
02:17is very important, and that he is morally responsible,
02:22and that he is sure of himself.
02:25And that he knows that he can do anything that he wants to do,
02:29but he definitely knows the struggles of a black man in America.
02:35And a lot of people don't want to talk about it,
02:37and it's hard for me to even talk about, too,
02:39but it definitely exists.
02:41And I'm not getting ready to sit back and not make him aware.
02:48My son will be aware, and he will be ready.
02:52That's my responsibility and my job.
