00:00Tenth person voted out, sixth member of our jury, Shawnee.
00:04That's three votes, that's enough.
00:06Need to bring me a torch.
00:07Good job, Shawnee.
00:08I'm sorry.
00:09I can't make it back.
00:11Drop.
00:12You.
00:13Buffs.
00:14Welcome back to Australian Survivor, drop your buffs.
00:18I'm Sean Ross, back here with Ricard Foyer and Nick Idanza
00:21as five become four on Survivor Australia v. World,
00:26where we lost Shawnee last night,
00:28an icon, a legend.
00:30Nick, how are you feeling?
00:32I feel sad.
00:33I feel really sad.
00:34If you predict every time that Shawnee's gonna go, you'll be right once.
00:37A broken clock is right twice a day.
00:40We also had a very strange moment last night at Travel Council
00:45where two idols were played for each other,
00:49but they were a little bit scared.
00:51It's like, I'm gonna gift you this idol,
00:54but then you're gonna play my idol for me.
00:57Okay, we can play it for each other.
00:59Let's exchange the idols.
01:00Okay.
01:01As a symbol of our trust and commitment.
01:03Okay.
01:04Okay.
01:05But not our Luke.
01:08Yeah.
01:09Razor-thin trust.
01:10Yeah.
01:11That just shows the trust is so, so thin.
01:13And it should be because, like, why are these two titans
01:15wanting to sit at the end with each other?
01:17It makes no sense.
01:18Especially with what Australian Survivor is known for,
01:21for these massive endurance challenges.
01:23We know that Luke has a bad back, a bad leg, a bad foot.
01:26I don't know.
01:27Everything seems to be broken on this man.
01:28I don't know if he can do it today.
01:29Oh, we'll see how they fair up.
01:31But it's an iconic Final Four.
01:33And speaking of iconic, we've got an iconic guest that we need to welcome.
01:37We have an iconic guest.
01:38An iconic guest, yes.
01:40Without any further ado, let's just get her out.
01:43No one wants to hear us.
01:44Yeah.
01:45Let's just get her out here.
01:46Please welcome a four-time Australian Survivor player,
01:50someone who has clocked up 138 days in the game,
01:54which is, I think, third in the entire world.
01:56Hmm.
01:57Please welcome Shani Botel!
01:59Woo!
02:00Woo!
02:01Yay!
02:02Shani, welcome.
02:03How are you feeling?
02:05I'm feeling fresh as a daisy.
02:07Yeah.
02:08Feeling good.
02:09Yeah.
02:10You look fresh.
02:12You would never know you just spent two weeks on an island.
02:13Oh, yes.
02:15Yeah, you look like a ray of sunshine.
02:16Oh, I feel it.
02:17Wow.
02:18Trust me, a bit of food can really work wonders.
02:21Four times?
02:22I know.
02:23You did this four times?
02:24I know.
02:25First of all, what is wrong with you?
02:27I know.
02:28Like Jonathan said when I rocked up on day one,
02:30he's like, what brings you back?
02:32So what keeps bringing you back?
02:33It's just like this love-hate relationship with this game.
02:36It's a love-hate relationship.
02:38And wait a minute.
02:39I need to defend my title.
02:41I need to keep on adding days.
02:43I still haven't won.
02:44So I'm like, and I want that cold hard cash money.
02:47But back to the drawing board.
02:50Maybe I'll pitch Shanine a business idea.
02:53So can Shani win this game?
02:56No.
02:57What's going on here?
02:58Because I think the longer you stay in, the higher the threat level becomes.
03:02Yeah.
03:03So this time I'm like, let me lower my threat level.
03:07I'm not going to be in like a power couple duo.
03:10I'm just going to focus on what's best for me and, you know,
03:14hopefully go under the radar a little bit more than usual.
03:17But you know what?
03:18You come up with all of these theories and you still get voted out anyway.
03:22What gives?
03:23I feel like with this cast, it could be a little bit easier to be under the radar.
03:28What were your initial thoughts of your tribe when you first saw them?
03:32How did you feel when you saw George and the Golden God?
03:35Rocking up to the tribe, I was like, oh, great.
03:38So we have David, who him and I have never played together.
03:43And then we have George, my number one frenemy,
03:46who I was like, I do not trust you.
03:48I can't work with you.
03:50And then I'm like looking at Luke, who has connections with Janine and Sarah
03:55for six to eight years.
03:57And then David is friends with Sarah from the modelling industry.
04:01Luke and Kirby are friends from the real world.
04:05So I'm like literally looking around.
04:07I'm like, everyone is like a very long standing friendship here.
04:11And then it's me with like two people that voted me off.
04:14So who has played together before?
04:16What are the combos we're working with?
04:18Aren't you a super fan, Sarah?
04:20I know, and I just want it out in the open.
04:23But that's so interesting because George basically said the same thing.
04:27He said, I came in, I had all these connections that existed,
04:30and I didn't have any.
04:32Did you try to work with George in this game?
04:34Was there some like reconciliation that was possible?
04:37George and I actually have so much fun together.
04:40But when it comes to playing the game, I just don't trust him.
04:44So, of course, I wanted to be like, oh, let's like mend the bridge.
04:48And like, you know, we can work together.
04:50And then when I had David saying my name, George saying my name, I'm like,
04:55OK, I've got to work with one of you.
04:57George and I have a better friendship.
05:00So, yeah, I did use him for one vote, but I just couldn't, you know,
05:04how can you relax when you've got someone like George there,
05:07like that's just waiting to write down your name?
05:10Your destiny in this game might come down to us three plus Janine voting for Sean.
05:16And then I can get her before she comes for me.
05:19When there was a tied vote between David and George,
05:23why did you not flip your vote and get out George
05:26and get your revenge a little bit sooner?
05:28But this one was like, I was like going back and forth, back and forth.
05:32I'm like, ah, what do I do?
05:34But with David, I had already told Kirby that I would be writing David's name.
05:38So I'm like, at least Kirby would trust me.
05:41Like, I was confident that I could get the numbers to vote George on my own merit.
05:46But if I voted off George, it would be on the back of David's move.
05:50Yeah.
05:51You know what I mean?
05:52So it's like, let me get the one who's harder to get tonight.
05:56And then I can maintain my relationship with Kirby.
05:59And then I can get the numbers.
06:01I was sure I could get the numbers for George.
06:04And then I can be like, huh, I did both.
06:06Yeah.
06:07And then that becomes your move.
06:08Yes.
06:09Instead of just like, oh, I changed my mind on the back of David's move.
06:13Yeah.
06:14That makes way more sense.
06:15Was it tempting though when you were in there?
06:16Yeah.
06:17You were like, I could get George right now.
06:18I was like, ah, but I'm like, just wait.
06:20And then I'm like, what if there is no, what if there is no other moment?
06:22Yeah.
06:23And then I was like, no, you can do it.
06:24You can do it.
06:25I'm like, ah.
06:26Good self-restraint there.
06:27Yeah, it was good.
06:28You've been on a jury three times.
06:29Well, once you were voted off the jury.
06:30Yes.
06:31But the other two times, did you go in open slash were you willing to listen and change your mind
06:36at Tribal Council?
06:37Definitely willing to hear what people are saying.
06:39But at the moment, I would be voting for poverty.
06:42And that would be iconic as well because like, you know, she's back in Samoa.
06:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:46Like, I feel like it would be a really full circle healing moment for her.
06:50And we're all about healing here.
06:51Love it.
06:52Love it.
06:53You crossed enemy lines right at the merge, right?
06:55And you voted with the World Tribe too.
06:57I was with Sarah.
06:58So I can see, you know, you're fluid.
07:01I'm fluid.
07:02World, Australia, we're all people.
07:07It's a small world.
07:08World piece.
07:09So we mentioned you've played 138 days of Survivor.
07:14You've been on some very long Australian seasons.
07:17This one is only 16 days.
07:19How did you find this season differed from the previous ones that you've played?
07:23It was so intense.
07:25Like, legitimately, first day, rock up.
07:28We're not even like, oh, hey Janine, how are you?
07:30We're like, anyway, so I think that George is really sketchy.
07:34I'm like, have you read George's recent book?
07:36It's called How to Manipulate People.
07:39And then we're just like, Sarah's like, let's take out a strong guy.
07:43It's like, there were so many names flying around in like the first 10 minutes.
07:48It was crazy.
07:49And then at one point I was the only one building the shelter.
07:53Yeah, so definitely a different game there.
07:57Definitely a different game.
07:59We knew it was a short game.
08:01Yeah.
08:02So we're not here to take out someone's friend to weaken them.
08:05Let's just take them out.
08:06Yeah.
08:07So with this limited time to build relationships, do you think that that affects any of the sort of hurt feelings that might occur when somebody's voted out or like the investment in the game?
08:20Or do you think it's still at that level?
08:21I think it's easier to get over because if someone goes home who you really like, it's kind of like, oh, well, you know, moving on.
08:29Now I need to make the next plan.
08:31We've got what, five days left, 10 days left.
08:34It's hardly any time.
08:35It's not as if you're like, great.
08:37Now I'm going to be out here for another 40 days without my closest ally.
08:40It's kind of like out of sight, out of mind.
08:43Sorry, Sarah.
08:44We hardly knew you.
08:46It's been a good four days, Sarah, but adios, amigo.
08:49Godspeed.
08:51If you could have any past Alliance member from any of your seasons on this show that would have helped you succeed, who do you think you would have wanted?
09:00Nick.
09:01Of course.
09:02That would have been so fun.
09:03That would have been the best.
09:04So speaking of Alliance members, we want to play a little game about iconic alliances.
09:10This game is called the Alliance Allocation.
09:14Oh, I love it.
09:16So what we're going to do is we're going to have you blind rank Alliance names, famous Alliance names from Survivor.
09:23You might see some familiar ones.
09:25You might be seeing ones for the first time.
09:27So you're going to list them in order from one to ten based on how iconic, how ishonic you think the Alliance name is.
09:34Okay.
09:35So it's just about the name.
09:36It's not about who's in the Alliance.
09:37Okay, okay, okay.
09:38Okay, you ready?
09:39Yeah.
09:40When we start, the boys have a little tribute to you while we play the game.
09:44Oh, that's ishonic.
09:47So I'm going to give you the name of all your alliances are in here, plus some others.
09:53Yeah.
09:54You're going to list them, put them on where you think.
09:56You can't move them afterwards.
09:57Okay.
09:58So once they're in that spot, they are in that spot.
09:59They're locked in.
10:00Okay?
10:01Yeah.
10:02Ready?
10:03Shanella.
10:04Ooh.
10:05Okay.
10:06I'm going to put it for number two.
10:07Nice.
10:08Wow.
10:09Hi.
10:10The Black Widow Brigade.
10:11Yes.
10:12Poverty and Cerise.
10:13Yes.
10:14Well done.
10:15Yeah.
10:16The Spice Girls.
10:17Oh.
10:18This was a great alliance while it lasted, but then I got ditched.
10:22So I'm going to put it in number seven.
10:24Okay.
10:25Here we have one from American Survivor, the Brochachos.
10:28Okay.
10:29What do you think of that?
10:30The bros, I'm thinking this is like a meaty number.
10:34So they'll be sitting in the prime position of ten.
10:37Nice.
10:39Thank you, Shani.
10:40A meaty number.
10:41Yes.
10:42Now here's another one that you've been in.
10:43I don't know whether it counts as a real alliance, but the shh alliance.
10:47Oh my God.
10:48I'm ashamed that number ten is taken.
10:50Why?
10:51Can you explain who was in it and what it was?
10:53So this is the shh alliance.
10:55It was Shani, Shane and Shan.
10:58And it was a bit of a tongue twister.
11:01And why did it never work out?
11:03It never worked out because I got shunned at the final four.
11:06Shunned.
11:07You got shunned.
11:08Shut out.
11:09Here's another one from America.
11:10Mm-hmm.
11:11The Three Amigos.
11:12Three Amigos.
11:14Boring.
11:17Here's another one that you've been in.
11:19The Mighty Ducks.
11:21Oh.
11:22Who was the Mighty Ducks?
11:23This was myself, Brian, Fenella, Benji and Monica.
11:28It lasted one vote and we were like, we've got our ducks in a row.
11:32Here's another one that both of us have been in before.
11:36The Little Rascals.
11:37Oh.
11:38Number one.
11:39Oh.
11:40This was so fun.
11:41Oh, we had the best time.
11:42Yeah, it was a great time.
11:43Okay.
11:44We've got two more.
11:45Two more.
11:46Okay.
11:47This is another American one.
11:48The Onion Alliance.
11:49Thoughts?
11:50You know what?
11:51I'm thinking this has something to do with like crying.
11:53You know like how onions make you cry?
11:55Yeah.
11:56It's actually that onions have layers.
11:57Oh.
11:58And the tighter you are in the core of the alliance, you're inside that onion.
12:02Oh, these people sound too intellectual for me.
12:04I'll go number five.
12:06That's a hard one.
12:08Okay.
12:09We've got one more.
12:10Cops Are Us.
12:11This had Tony and his friend Sarah Lucina.
12:14Two cops.
12:15Look.
12:16Cops Are Us.
12:17Three words.
12:18I'm going for the third place.
12:21All right.
12:22Here we have the definitive ranking, the definitive allocation of epic survivor alliances.
12:29Well done, Shawnee.
12:30Great job.
12:31Woo!
12:32And honored to be in the top spot with you.
12:34Oh, no one else.
12:35So, what's your prediction for who's going to be voted out next?
12:39I think the game's going to have to change because they've made a promise, right?
12:43They simply can't go to three.
12:45I think that if Parvati and Sari want to stay solid in there too, Janine and Luke want to stay solid in there too,
12:53then perhaps Sari and Janine might go to a fire challenge and sending Sari home.
12:58All right.
12:59Thank you, Shawnee, so much for being here.
13:01It's an absolute pleasure to be in the presence of a real, true, bonafide survivor icon like yourself.
13:08It's been great.
13:09It's been awesome.
13:10It's been fun.
13:11Well, thanks so much for coming, Sean.
13:13Bye.
13:14Bye.
13:15See ya.
13:16Bye.
13:17Bye.
13:18Shawnee, the tribe has spoken.
13:19Yes.
13:21Bye.
13:22Okay guys, that was so great.
13:24I absolutely love hanging out with Sean, and I'm really glad we got to hear her takes on the game.
13:29But the game is not over...
13:31What is going to happen next?
13:33We usually get a wild final immunity challenge,
13:36some kind of torture device,
13:38and I do think my queen Parvati may have a very good shot at that.
13:42She has stood in endurance challenges for six hours at a time sometimes,
13:46so that's my hope for her,
13:48because otherwise I don't know that she can get to the final three.
13:51Let's say, for example, we end up with a Luke, Parvati, and Sari final three.
13:56I believe that the majority of the votes are going to be split
13:58between Parvati and Luke, right?
14:01And we could very well be entire possibility.
14:06How appropriate would that be for this season to say,
14:08these are the best of the best,
14:10and we can't even decide which is the best
14:13in a traditional final tribal council?
14:15I just, I would love to see that work out.
14:17I know it's probably fan fiction at this stage,
14:19but I would love to see that as an epic end,
14:21because it would fulfill the promise of the season.
14:24Australia versus the world right down to the very end.
14:27I can't wait to see what happens.
14:28Tune in next time to see us chat with the fourth place finisher
14:33and get their take on the end game of Survivor Australia v. World.
