00:00What will happen in a drag race between the Toyota Super Mark IV?

00:02This is a 2JZ swapped BMW.

00:05We're going to race them over the standing quarter mark.

00:07This BMW E46 M3 has a 3.0L straight-six 2JZ engine with £30,000 worth of modification.

00:14There's a large single turbo instead of the standard twin turbo,

00:17a new ECU, bigger fuel injectors, an aftermarket intercooler, a custom exhaust and a twin plate clutch.

00:22It produces 507 horsepower and 678Nm of torque,

00:26which is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

00:29The car weighs around 1,650kg and is worth £45,000.

00:34This Mark IV Toyota Supra also has a 3.0L straight-six 2JZ engine,

00:38but it's running the stock twin turbo setup.

00:40However, it does have £2,000 worth of upgrades,

00:43including a decapped downpipe, a cat-back exhaust, an aftermarket intercooler and an ECU tube.

00:48It produces 406 horsepower and 569Nm of torque,

00:52which is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

00:55It weighs 1,570kg and is worth about £36,000.

00:59And we're going to kick off with this race here with this BMW versus that Supra.

01:03Both have a 2JZ engine, but it's going to be a case of winner stays on.

01:07We're going to do a drag race, some riding races, brake test,

01:09and then whichever car wins the drag race is going to go on to face a modern-day Supra,

01:14which is fitted with a BMW straight-six turbo engine.

01:23So now I have some in a BMW Supra to go against my Supra BMW.

01:29This new Mark 5 Toyota Supra hasn't been modified.

01:31So, its 3.0L turbocharged BMW straight-six produces 340 horsepower and 500Nm of torque.

01:38That's sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox with launch control.

01:42The car weighs 1,495kg and cost from £52,000 when it was last on sale.

01:48Well, the new Toyota Supra won.

01:49It completed the standing quarter-mile in 12.8 seconds.

01:52In the previous race against the old Supra, the BMW won with a time of 14 seconds.
