00:01The man who took oath as cabinet minister when Nitish Kumar formed the Bihar government was Nitin Nabin.
00:14Back then, he was a familiar BJP face from Patna.
00:17A five-time MLA, a trusted organizational hand, a leader who climbed slowly, steadily inside the party.
00:23Today, Nitin Nabin is the BJP's national working president.
00:27It's our son.
00:30So, why now? First, some context.
00:33J.P. Nadda is still the BJP's national president, but his term has technically ended.
00:38Elected in January 2020 for three years, his tenure ended in 2023 and was extended till June 2024 for the Lok Sabha elections.
00:46He has continued since, as no new president was elected.
00:53As of December 2025, Nadda remains in charge.
00:56And appointing Nitin Nabin as working president signals a transition.
01:00But very few people know how his political journey actually began.
01:03It began with loss.
01:05Nitin Nabin is the son of late BJP MLA, Nabeen Nikishore Sinha, who represented Patna West for four straight terms.
01:12Nitin had studied till class 12 and was just 25 years old when his father passed away suddenly.
01:17According to party leaders, he dropped out of Billah Institute of Technology after the tragedy.
01:29The family faced a choice.
01:31Nitin stepped into politics.
01:32He won the Patna West by election.
01:34After delimitation in 2008, he shifted to Bankipur.
01:37He has held that seat continuously since 2010.
01:41He became a cabinet minister for the first time in 2021.
01:45Today, he holds key portfolios including road construction, urban development and housing.
01:50Outside Bihar, Nitin Nabin served as the BJP election in charge for the 2019 Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Sikkim and for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh.
01:59Now, as national working president, he is central to the BJP's next phase.
02:05With assembly elections due in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam, his task is clear.
02:10Strengthen the organization, direct campaigns, coordinate candidate selection and oversee digital and media outreach.
02:17For now, he holds the post until the party's internal election, expected in January 2026.
