00:00When we reached the last night at Wembley Stadium in London,
00:05all of us felt such satisfaction.
00:10We've had so many special moments where just like,
00:13it just reminds me what a concert can do
00:17if you give it your all.
00:22Then again, no matter how good a tour is,
00:25it's a huge massive undertaking.
00:28It's hard work.
00:30That's the challenge, that's the adventure,
00:33and that's what every person on this tour is doing.
00:41Every single night, no matter what's going on,
00:45we're gonna do everything in our power to blow your mind.
01:12My goal for the Ares tour is that I didn't want the fans to leave thinking that they missed out on anything.
01:17anything one thing I've always tried to do is like give something to the fans that they didn't
01:22expect when we had done the first half of the tour what the fans didn't know at the time was
01:29that I was writing a brand new album the torture poets department and in the middle of me releasing
01:34the album we had to be all hands on deck creating a brand new era to put into the show to represent
01:40that album doing all of this completely secretly all in like a tiny little break that we had
01:54between Asia and Europe are there sounds from fortnight that are not the synth sound or do we
02:02go into like strings like this feels like a highly elevated chapter we build this top
02:10secret rehearsal facility for us to lock in the set list go who's afraid a little bit of down bad
02:18probably a verse and a chorus or a pre-chorus and a chorus that might be it like I would kind of do
02:25surgical tweakings to each song be like okay these songs but cut out the bridge and the second verse
02:30of this and then so tell me everything is not about me and then to make it so that we could fit this
02:40many songs in the show and say they didn't do it to hurt me everyone in and I want and and double as
02:50big for I want to snarly I'm gonna have a mental breakdown during this song like it's gonna be so fun
02:56and then we put together all new choreography learning choreography all just hearing it in our heads
03:05because they can't play the music on speakers because it's not out yet the first line is did
03:10you really beam me up what I want is for a light to spotlight right on me like it's the alien ship
03:18right into this like crazy like alien light and then yeah there's an entirely new order of the
03:32chapters so I'm relearning the entire show essentially it feels crazy to like take all
03:38the pieces apart and then put them together in different order yeah and I think I'd rather feel
03:43this way where I'm a little bit confused a little bit like what what then being like on autopilot
03:50yeah because I could do the show we were doing in Asia I could do in my yeah at first we're all like
03:55we all fear change but then we're like yeah we got this yeah but we're here we got here because we
03:59accepted challenges our whole lives oh my god that was a risk that could have gone so bad there was the
04:05danger that we it could have felt like we had sort of shoehorned something in or that you know people
04:11didn't like the new show as much as they like the old show I swear to god if I heard people online
04:15being like I missed the old show I was going to be like oh my god you have no idea how hard this was
04:20to do we're going to get to watch 45,000 people experience the fact that they're seeing something
04:27that's never been seen before I went out to play our first show of the new set in Paris the crowd has no
04:35idea that we've added a completely new section and rearranged things and and I am so so excited
04:42I love having a good secret when we brought out this new show in Paris it was so rewarding because
04:49all of that secrecy and all of that working during our only time off paid off so much because the fans
04:58were so excited it was such a dynamic new addition to the show now going into the last show in London
05:07I have the opportunity to add to their experience even on top of that Taylor wants to make the last
05:16London show as powerful as possible she's like I want to blow this thing out we're going to do this
05:22right she wants to do Florida with Florence Welch Florence the Machine performing Florida with
05:29Florence is something I've wanted to do ever since the two of us wrote that song and then it just so
05:34happened that she was going to be available in London you're not nervous about the show you know
05:39you know how it runs and suddenly it's something like Florence coming to do Florida the choreography
05:45meets the music meets automation which is the stage movement and is starting from scratch again I know
05:54that when I say to them I want to perform Florida with Florence and I really want to do it with full
05:58production I know that it's some kind of creative brainstorming sessions but I know it's doable
06:03because all the dancers the choreographers the production designers the crew the entire band
06:10every person we have is the best one doing it in the entire industry
06:15this is kind of funny uh we have to rehearse the song we kind of do what we usually do in the comfort
06:32of a studio from the road but also trying to keep things from leaking before the surprise
06:39it's it's a stadium with no roof so there's like fans outside and say you have to turn the PA off
06:44and we have to do it quietly you know it is so much extra work to keep things a surprise let me tell
06:56you I I need a nap just thinking about it but it's so worth it when it when we can actually pull it off
07:02your programming sounds at soundcheck the dancers are finding a place to work on choreography for it
07:10where people can't find out what's happening you know before you know it I'm in a random ballroom
07:15in the middle of the hotel with Amanda at like 9 30 at night
07:18maybe then maybe you'd come off there
07:23Florence open up on the into the diagonals maybe yeah with choreography I asked one of my friends
07:32Emma Stone who's done a lot of work in dance in her films you know who have you worked with that
07:38you would recommend for this and she's like there's only one person that needs to be on your list and
07:41as Mandy Moore I never would have thought that I would be in the same sentence as Taylor Swift ever
07:47in my life you know I've always been a big fan but I funny enough I come from really more film and
07:53television I don't really do artists performance now I understand why I was brought in because she
07:58really wanted to do something different and she likes the storytelling I mean her songs are mini movies
08:04so when I listen to them it's just lyrics and melody swirling with ideas in my head and then you
08:11just start making something yeah is there something about that like thought that yeah and then all of a
08:17sudden it comes out yeah do you want to do seven beautiful gorgeous man love like one two Amanda
08:29Baylin the first time that I saw her do her thing here we go she was choreographing the tour she was not a
08:37dancer her job was to show me what I'd be doing with the dancers I would just get so much inspiration from
08:47what she was doing as a performer I just kept saying like you're such a pop star Amanda
08:52this was my dream truly it was my dream to do live shows and tour like this more so than Broadway or
09:02anything I just I always was drawn to this I actually haven't looked at these I just keep throwing them
09:09in I started out by doing small things and then I booked a job as a swing for a Janet Jackson tour which
09:17was oh I'd always wanted to dance for her I went on to tour with Celine Dion uh what else have I done
09:24oh oh I danced for Lady Gaga for five plus years I toured for five years straight I worked on Glee which
09:31was a long-standing dancing tv show for a while that was a wonderful job I went on to do some films like
09:37La La Land I've performed at probably every major award show with different artists and I've been a part of
09:43many tours as much as you want it to last forever dance isn't a forever career the demand on your body
09:55is not sustainable we can get this strong when you do all those you know wild movements then this can
10:02stabilize your spine helping I have two labral tears in my hip flexors like things are just breaking
10:08down I kind of just decided it was a very tough decision but to gracefully start to peel myself
10:15away from being a professional dancer and to do things behind the scenes I remembered asking Mandy
10:24I wonder if Amanda would ever dance with us and Mandy was like ah she's she's retired she hung up her
10:32dancing shoes a while ago at some point Mandy came to me and said hey the team wants to know if
10:37you want to do the show my first response to being asked to the tour was a chuckle and oh hell no I don't
10:44even know if I could do it being involved in the behind the scenes and then doing it on stage those
10:49are two different things I had doubts in my ability I was worried that I wasn't going to be as good as I
10:55was when I was dancing but at the end of the day even though there was a lot of fear it was just too
11:02wonderful of an opportunity a second chant I get chills it was a second chance that most people don't
11:09get to have we're counting this song in fast state so it'll be oh one two three four five six seven eight oh
11:21one two three four five seven eight she says um and a five two three four on five it's the word weed
11:29and you guys are going to kind of do like a little bit of a deflate and my friends all smell like weed
11:34yeah yeah weed or little babies and you'll roll up uh-huh and on the five of the fifth and my friends
11:43all smell like weed or little one two three four five six seven eight okay just so you have an idea
11:50Amanda and I were in like an empty ballroom last night just like okay it's just going to like
12:04idiots you just see Amanda and I as you can imagine it's the normal okay Florida one gang gang gang gang
12:11it's a hell of a drug it is always weird I think with choreography because it is true it's like
12:18literally a week ago this thing didn't exist and my friends all smell like weed okay so with the
12:23exact oh do you want to do this and just roughly but oh freaking great I was like why do they all
12:28just do this and then like the dancers become the accessories to Taylor and to the stage and to the
12:35whole experience so it's a really important thing and I take it very seriously you know I always get
12:42nervous when I'm showing Taylor something for the first time because I ultimately I just want to do
12:47well you know like I want to make her happy because I just you know so much respect for her I love her
12:52I mean I was really terrified the first time I had to show her something
12:56we can figure this out together
12:59but luckily you know since the very early stages of this her and I have a really nice communication
13:07Taylor can give me thoughts or colors or ideas and I think I'm able to understand what she wants
13:20visually I want to kind of channel like uh rights of spring Florence machine like like like it's
13:26taking our body yeah like like fully like like reaching you know like like kind of like um like
13:34girl in an insane asylum slash wood nymph love it yeah so I mean yes wasn't nervous I'm always nervous
13:41I'm always sweating I'm like oh god did I make the right thing is this bad choices hello how are you
13:48really good how are you doing all right do you want to watch one I would think kind of see
13:52I'll do uh Florence's track uh we're just doing the speaker right here yeah I love it yeah okay guys
13:57ready to move yes okay go for 4306 one two three stand by 4306.11
14:06you beat the charges too they said I was a cheat I guess it must be true
14:14and my friends all smell like we the little baby oh I love that go and the city reeks of driving myself
14:26little did you know your home's really only a town you're just a guest in
14:35so you work your life away just to pay for a time shed down on Destin
14:41oh my god
14:50and then feel like you guys can play here
15:07and then yeah we made this like wave wow could it be kind of cool huh cool I hate that it's happening
15:16without us there I could do it earlier if you want just didn't know if it was whoa so epic back
15:24there and no one's gonna look at it no no because they're gonna be looking at you and I almost wish
15:29that me and Florence could be on that I mean that would be fucking amazing and she's up for it yeah
15:35I'm worried if me and Florence are here there's people aren't gonna look at it and I and that
15:41bothers me and also I think Florence is like gonna be really she's totally down for for like being in the mix and doing cool stuff
15:48and I did my best like in there to rest all of the bodies and if I'm playing my body and my mind
15:56they sink into the swamp
15:59oh it'd be awesome if it goes down
16:01is that a bad thing to say in the song
16:02then it rises and did you know and did
16:06totally right
16:07then it all rises at the same fucking time and it's awesome and everyone sees it
16:12good okay let's run one more time and now that I've had this chat with Taylor then I can fix all
16:18we have all the elements I just now need to rework them okay good job guys great job a lot of the time
16:24when you are casting for a tour um you know choreographers will sometimes have it in their head
16:31that uh they want a specific body type they want a specific look they want only women they want only
16:38men it's it they people can get very opinionated about um things looking very uniform that's not
16:45what I wanted to do with the heirs tour I feel like when you look up on stage as a fan if you see
16:50people that represent you your friends the people you see in the world that's I think much more
16:57emotional and more connective and powerful I really wanted everyone to look up on that stage and think I
17:04I see myself in that person
17:06spaces like the space that Taylor is curating on a day on a night-to-night basis I wish we had more of
17:16that right even outside of entertaining it's so important to be seen to be heard to be understood
17:25my background as a dancer I had a lot of teachers and professors who were not so kind mostly around
17:37my size and and if I wanted to be a professional dancer I would need to lose weight I remember doing
17:43an audition and the director of the company said to me okay so what are we going to do about your body
17:48in life some people are going to try to tear you down they want you to do something else other than
17:55the thing that you are in love with and then there are kind people who ground you and in my experience
18:03that's my mom and my brother it's important to know I came from a family with an excess of love right
18:12my mother sacrificed a lot for my brother and I to just have experiences
18:20and so my brother he fell in love with sports I fell in love with dance and we were sort of navigating
18:26our training at the same time middle school high school college and it has been
18:33the joy of my life to watch him thrive in something that he loves so so much now he plays in the NFL
18:43and I watched my brother go to the Super Bowl three times I graduated college and thought I was going to
18:50be teaching dance for the rest of my life and I remember getting a email that said there's a closed
18:57audition we cannot disclose who the artist is but it's being choreographed by Mandy Moore I didn't have
19:02like a dollar to my name at the time and I called my brother I was like listen I don't know what this is
19:12but something is telling me that I have to be in this room he was like okay we will make it happen and he
19:23bought me a flight when he came into the audition I was like he's magnetic I mean he's a great dancer
19:36his smile is like the thousand watt smile you know he's really well trained he just embodies what I felt
19:43was like the spirit of what these people need to be cam is someone who absolutely lights up not only the
19:51stage but just our entire vibe as a tour he's just so himself I don't want dancers that blend in I don't
20:00care about them pulling focus I want them to pull focus I want you to feel like you saw an entire crew of
20:06individual stars on the stage now knowing that spaces like this do exist for me that allow me to be the
20:20fullest version of me with with all I have to offer in this body as it exists right now this feels like my
20:31Super Bowl
20:32I woke up with a cat on my head
20:44bonus day is so important because setting a precedent with the heiress tour is really important to me
21:06because people who work on the road if the tour grosses more they get more of a bonus and these
21:12people just work so hard and they are the best at what they do so every single person on the crew I've
21:19handwritten them a note it took me a couple weeks but it's fun to write the notes it's like fun to to
21:26think about everybody's lives that they're gonna go back to and the time off they're gonna have and
21:30the you know the kids they haven't seen because they've been away from months and it just making
21:35that worthwhile for them is like really it just it feels like Christmas morning when you finally get
21:41to say thank you so each one is in its own baggie and I was thinking we can lay them out oh let me see
21:54the little it's a wax seal you wax sealed every one of these things yeah and I got in the fire
22:02department almost had to come I want to show you this Taylor six of the audio guys got this tattoo
22:08says cruel summer 152 shows oh my god and then I don't know crazy I don't know if you remember but
22:16on reputation why is it a grim reaper I have no idea they have to keep it like scary they can't like
22:22have like a tattoo of like a butterfly and a kitty cat I think I think what that means is 152 dates
22:28almost killed them but they made it oh my god that is exactly what it is that's what it means the
22:34reality of it yeah Jesus yeah I'll go behind today get rid of the bags get rid of the bags
22:38get rid of the bags get a bit forensic
22:39everybody has the same message on their card so I was hoping you could open it but before
23:00before you look at yours I just wanted to say guys this this leg of this tour has been harder
23:06than anything I've ever done in a live setting and you guys have taken this on with such excitement and
23:13such curiosity and such the endurance you've shown um but the spirit you've shown how much you've given
23:19to these crowds that gives to me every single night the tour has done really well thanks to all of
23:25our hard work so if you will kindly read this message Taylor Swift okay oh there's Cam we've traveled
23:39the world like we set out to do we've dazzled the crowds but we've missed family too my full gratitude
23:46doesn't come from a bank but here's all this just to say things love Taylor
23:57father was the one that presented the checks to our drivers and he presented handwritten letters
24:18from Taylor it's incredible I know tour truck drivers and I've asked do artists usually give
24:23out these big bonuses unheard of what's wrong Max he's emotional oh my god do you need a hug are you
24:33okay I'm not falling I'm gonna pass out
24:35I love you guys so much
24:49good and the first walks uh you know it felt nice if you were gonna slow first and then you round the
25:02corner everybody's got their things they're good at uh it's taken me a really long time to be even
25:09fine at choreography Mandy knows how to approach teaching me choreography from a lyrical perspective
25:18what were you doing this these little steps yeah they're just steps um yeah so just starting with
25:23your uh did you think oh yeah homes really oh town you'll get arrested I don't do eight counts I learn based
25:32on what syllable of the lyric I'm attaching a movement to and I can't really learn any other
25:38way I've tried Texas Florida should be yeah I didn't know if it should be like sing it then throw to them or sing Florida
25:47there you go that's what I thought yeah yeah oh sorry to get out there and learn the choreography in 30 minutes and
25:55remember to hit this spot hit this mark this dancer's gonna come over and stand next to me for this moment in front of 90,000 people like my brain would explode
26:06it's an absolute challenge not to mention the whole time she's doing this she's singing and doing all
26:15these things at the same time so it's a lot like juggling for three and a half hours learning the
26:21choreography it's not just doing a step for the sake of doing a step it's all very visual and it makes sense
26:29to me narratively it also is interesting to be in a position where like you know this is a team of
26:36experts and there's something about that that keeps me on my game and focused and locked in it's one of
26:43the elements of like where that kind of pressure is a privilege because they're not messing up so it
26:50better not be me um okay so uh I feel good okay is it okay if I yeah because we're gonna put
26:58points in tomorrow so we'll have you with okay perfect perfect happy if you I love it I love it
27:02I love it I think it's gonna be so special beautiful job guys beautiful job thanks for the song
27:08my only job I'm excited about seeing the show again yeah the driver asked me oh is this your
27:21first time to the show I was like uh no no yeah I don't you know my knee is doing better and I don't
27:29really want to be in the wheelchair I need it a little bit but to get you there yeah but I want to
27:36dance tell them I'm gonna tell them because I feel like a hypocrite if I'm sitting in the
27:40wheelchair section and I start popping off you know I think they'll come and take the wheel you're
27:44gonna start what popping off and is that the move something like that sometimes it's a shimmy
27:51uh-huh sometimes it's a roll and when does that when do it is I have so many and a lot of times
27:57it's you guys it's choreography too like it's this way something like that that I do that
28:05shake it off yeah shake it off shake it I do that move too oh are you ready for it
28:13that that's my song I love that one this experience has been really amazing for me
28:24that's okay I've watched you make so many sacrifices
28:40so many for us to be able to do what we're doing and to follow those dreams with every part of us and
28:58I am grateful that you're here to see it yeah because Colin and I being able to do what we
29:12love to do in such grand spaces it's product of how you love us and do so I'm I'm grateful that you're
29:27able to see the fruits of your labor in this way and I will never not have you in these spaces with
29:40me and in celebrating with me because just as hard as I've worked I'm very clear and very conscious of
29:51how hard you've worked for us to be able to do so which is why I try my hardest to take so much care
29:57of you I know I know I love you so much I love you this is gonna be a good show I know you're gonna enjoy it
30:06I'm gonna dance I know oh yay you're here you made it
30:18I'm Mandy oh my gosh what an honor hi hi I saw the show the other night and it was so amazing
30:30guys this is for these yeah this is gonna be amazing this is so big no it is it is and it's also it's
30:39like a lot of ground to cover here so we're gonna show you and then like the choreography is like we do
30:45something and they and it affects them like well we're just like Florida but and they're like
30:49I have performed on big stages but this is not like I thought I just show up and I run around like
30:57because that's what I do at my own shows I just show up and I run like I just run around you're
31:02gonna come up on that back lift but you'll see it and I have never done a lift you haven't oh they're so
31:08fun you're gonna have so much fun when I got there I was like okay now this is your choreo I was
31:13like oh no no wait wait you want me confused I don't do this I'm gonna fuck this up
31:19Jenny one two three you split
31:24good you're good
31:37great so now this is Karen and that and to me is behind you and Roth here so you guys are nice and
31:55safe this is gonna start rising up on so I did my best okay great and she's gonna lay down or she's
32:01gonna kind of come into if you're okay with this she's just gonna lay her head here and it'd be
32:06great if you wanted to connect to her head on like some things and do my best to late to rest all of
32:10the bodies that have ever been on my body so it kind of makes my best to late to rest all of the
32:16bodies beautiful been on my body and in my mind they sink and raise your arm beautiful no sorry on is
32:25that is that a bad thing to say sorry about that yeah so sink into the swamp you're still down yes yes
32:31okay good now good so you pack your life away shit storm back in Texas Florida beautiful one hell of a
32:48Back center. Do it again.
32:50Throw it on.
32:52Then I use you.
32:54What a treat.
32:56We're similar in that the persona
32:58is huge but the person is soft
33:00and so I think that's why we get along.
33:02Externally the thing
33:04is really big
33:06but like when we're together we're just
33:08like silly and goofy.
33:10Seeing the show
33:12the most beautiful
33:14thing was the crowd.
33:16It was just like the
33:18love and the vibe.
33:20I was just like this all the pockets
33:22of like girls in their
33:24dresses like dancing.
33:26There's so much joy and like
33:28and like femininity
33:30that's not there's no shame
33:32around it.
33:34Natalie and Odie are
33:36standing right here. So you just head to the back
33:38two girls and then you're
33:40gonna have your footprints
33:42right there and you just gotta go in the middle and I think
33:44turn back front. Yeah and then we'll take you down.
33:46And then Dewey will be there
33:48to get you at the end okay.
33:50Yeah.
33:52Oh God this is gonna be so fun.
33:54Can we? Yes I would love. Taylor are you good
33:56to run this too from the top with the lifts and everything?
33:58No that was all we got.
34:00Can you imagine you're like,
34:02Lawrence good luck. It's gonna be great.
34:04I'm sure you'll be fine.
34:06All right.
34:08Yeah Lawrence.
34:10Ready to go down?
34:12Let's go in my first lift.
34:14And are you okay if I kind of talk you through
34:16and I say go rise? Yes please.
34:18Perfect. What?
34:20Happy hour.
34:22Off we go.
34:24Woo!
34:26I'm so happy I've been feeling so alone I keep waiting for you but you never come as this in my head I don't know what you think.
34:36I have been feeling so alone I keep waiting for you but you never come as this in my head. I don't know what you think.
34:38Mommy, you'll save me, I've been feeling so alone
34:43I keep waiting for you, but you never come as this
34:47In my head, I don't know what you think
34:50He led to the promise, pulled out away and said
34:55Marry me too, yet you never have to be alone
34:59I love you and that's all I feel
35:02You know I talk to your dad, your pants, out of white dress
35:07It's a love story, baby, just yet
35:11Never, ever, ever, ever
35:15Getting back together
35:17Yeah
35:20Yeah
35:22Oh
35:26I used to think that we were forever, ever
35:33And I used to say
35:36Never sing, never
35:38He calls me up and he's like, I still love you
35:42And I'm like, I'm just, I mean this is exhausting, you know
35:45Like we are never getting back together
35:47Nah bruv
35:48Getting back together
35:55You can beat the beat, but you can beat the charges too
36:07You said I was a cheat, I guess it must be true
36:13And my friends all smell like weed or little babies
36:20And the city reeks of driving by success
36:26Little did you know your home's really only a town you're just against in
36:34So you broke your back, no way, just to pay for a time shed down in Destin
36:40Florida
36:42It's going to be true
36:44Florida
36:46It's going to be true
36:47Florida
36:48It's going to be true
36:52Oh
36:54London
36:56Wembley Stadium
36:58My friend Florence showed up to surprise you
37:00How does that make you feel?
37:06The hurricane was my name when it came
37:09I got drunk and I gave it to wash me away
37:13We're hated in the bathroom with a bottle of water
37:16Well me and my ghost we had a hell of a time
37:19Yes I'm haunted but I'm feeling just fine
37:22All my ghost got their lace and their cross
37:26My cheek and your husband disappeared
37:29No one asks any questions here
37:32So I did my best, too late to rest
37:35All of the buttons that have ever been on my back and in my mind
37:40They sink into the swamp
37:44Is that a bad thing to say in the song?
37:48Little did you know your home's really only a town you'll get arrested
37:54So you'll pack your life away
37:57Just to wait
37:58As a shitstorm back in Texas
38:00Florida
38:02It's one hell of a drug
38:06Florida
38:10Can't use you
38:12Oh
38:14The feeling of coming up for the first time in that lift
38:17It was kind of landing on Mars
38:19Cause I'd never seen the stage lit up before
38:21The sound of the crowd
38:22That was really extraordinary
38:25You know it's like
38:26You see this cultural moment from the outside
38:28And I suddenly was like inside of it
38:30It was wild
38:31But it was
38:32It was really fun
38:34And completely terrifying
38:36Also
38:37Taylor's my friend
38:38And I know her as this like very cozy person
38:41And I came out of that lift
38:42I was like
38:43Oh my god
38:44It's fucking Taylor Swift
38:45But what we are
38:49Webley Stadium
38:56Make the most amount of noise possible for National Treasure
39:00The extraordinary Florence and the Machine
39:10You know, I used to kind of be leaving the shows and seeing people walk home and think,
39:39I really hope they got what they've been waiting for.
39:44I hope they got what they've been saving up their money for.
39:52There's a feeling I have of such pride and satisfaction because when I leave the Ares tour, I never wonder that.
40:05There's just like this magic in the air.
40:07All these particles of shimmer and glitter and confetti and girlhood and friendship bracelet beads and, you know, magic in the Ares.
40:20There's just like this.
40:22There's just like this.
