03:28Chris, we are no strangers to seeing Zack Sabre Jr. in tournament finals from New Japan Cup to G1 Climax
03:35just about two years ago.
03:37But as it stands today, Zack Sabre Jr. does not come to battle alone.
03:41It is the World Tag League final.
03:43For the first time in their careers, Sabre Jr. and Ryoha in Oyoa compete in the final of this great tournament.
03:51Well, New Japan Cup twice, G1 Climax, Best of the Super Junior and Super Junior Tag League all have come the way to TNPK.
04:04The only trophy left to acquire in the orange and black cabinet is the World Tag League trophies.
04:14Nohei Oyoa has been a Tag League winner over in Pro Wrestling.
04:18Noah won that trophy right here in Kumamoto a couple years ago.
04:25And looking to do the same here in New Japan Pro Wrestling as well.

05:05And it was not too long ago that we saw Gabe Kidd alongside Sonata
05:09lose out to Tensia Naito and Hiromu Takahashi.
05:13That is still something that sits heavily on the mind of Gabe Kidd
05:16coming into battle alongside a very different partner in the global champion.
05:20Well, when you talk about final experience,
05:23Yodosuji has, well, some final experience with Zack Sabre Jr.
05:30The G1 Climax 34 final.
05:33And that, again, is something that he wants to avenge very, very much so here tonight.
05:39There are a lot of ties that bind all four.
05:42Yodosuji with Zack Sabre Jr.
05:44Ryohi Oiwa, who lost to Yodosuji during the G1
05:48and who one year ago today lost in an NDPW strong championship match to Gabe Kidd
05:54over in Los Angeles in the Walter Pyramid.
05:58That represented to Oiwa one more of those opportunities
06:01of which he's gotten a lot of here in New Japan Pro Wrestling
06:05and he hasn't capitalized.
06:06That is, at least, perhaps, until tonight.

07:03As is the case for the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
07:09When you speak about purely full-time New Japan Pro Wrestlers,
07:14as of this moment, December the 14th, 2025, Yota Tsuji and Gabe Kidd might be 1A and 1B.
07:21I think the one person that you would have make that an argument against it would be Zack Sabre Jr.
07:31It's no strange sight to see Gabe Kidd, Yota Tsuji or even Zack Sabre Jr. for that matter
07:37in a main event situation, a tournament final.
07:39But a first-time ever tournament finalist in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ryohei Oiwa.
07:44Do you think that Oiwa comes in tonight feeling a little bit like a fish out of water
07:48alongside Zack Sabre Jr. against two of the top single stars in this organization in Gabe Kidd and Yota Tsuji?
07:54I don't think in terms of a professional environment. No, I don't think so.
07:57I think he's competed with both of these men in the past and certainly knows the ring and knows his talents inside and out.
08:03But I do think that the mental questions have to be racing through the back of your mind of,
08:09well, you've had shots over the Nava Championship, had shots for the TV Championship,
08:13had shots for the Strong Openweight Championship against Gabe Kidd and lost.
08:16You had a shot to show yourself against Yota Tsuji.
08:19Had that great, great technical, very classical match in the G1 in Ota if you recall earlier this summer,
08:25but he got caught in his own wheelhouse by Yota Tsuji.
08:29So certainly those doubtful voices, Walker, have to be running through the mind of Ryohei Uwe.
08:37Well, Ryohei Uwe has faced some very heavy detractors throughout this year's World Tag League.
08:42Namely, you're rating IWGP Tag Team Champions, Oscar and Uwe Ice.
08:46Mm-hm.
08:47And it was Oscar and Ice who, well, proved the Knockout Brothers to be correct in league competition.
08:51Knockout Brothers did defeat Sabre Jr. and Uwe, but it's one of very few losses
08:56that TMDK have taken in this year's World Tag League.
09:01As we have a one-fall, no time limit here tonight.
09:03We have to go to a decision.
09:05Yota Tsuji kicks off with Yohei Uwe on the evening.
09:08Well, Tsuji, imagine the pressure on Yota Tsuji.
09:10Here you are in a tournament final.
09:12This is, you know what I mean, we're three weeks away from the biggest match of Yota Tsuji's career.
09:18In Wrestle Kingdom 20, sold out Tokido.
09:20Has the stage that he wants, that he's needed, that he's talked about for so long,
09:24to prove that he is the future of professional wrestling, of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
09:29To recapture that IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, you know what I mean?
09:34He says, Yota Tsuji has, that I am all in, I am betting the house on New Japan Pro Wrestling,
09:40but I have to acknowledge that right now our World Heavyweight title
09:43is with someone who is not all in on New Japan Pro Wrestling,
09:46who does not bet the farm on New Japan Pro Wrestling.
09:48And Yota Tsuji feeling all of the weight of the entirety of this promotion on his back
09:52going into January the 4th. Rightly or wrongly, that's the case.
09:57There's gonna be a lot of conversation about that on the road to the World Heavyweight title
10:01and Global Heavyweight title double title battle.
10:04And we see between Tsuji and Takeshita on January 4th.
10:08But for right now, it is Yota Tsuji who looks to potentially kick off 2026.
10:14Could you imagine living in a world where Yota Tsuji holds not just the World Heavyweight title,
10:19the World Heavyweight title, but the IWGP Tag Team Championship as a World Tag League winner?
10:25I mean, certainly it would remove all doubt, would it not?
10:28I mean, to have all of those championships, all the top titles at one time.
10:33And the only person who could say maybe on a given day I have the better of a champion of that stature
10:40might be his own tag team partner in Gabe Kidd.
10:42You know, and I think that was really, you know, I mean, somewhere in Gabe Kidd's mind,
10:47and it's a very difficult mind to read, Walker, you know, I mean,
10:49that must have been a motivating factor for Gabe Kidd in this one.
10:53As Yota Tsuji off the ropes, turn things quick around,
10:58and that Lucha Libre styling out of Tsuji's excursion to CMLL.
11:03And it is certainly going to serve the Yota well here as a figurehead in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
11:08But will it serve him well here in this World Tag League final?
11:12We're going to find out.
11:14Great application of that head scissors.
11:17You know, we talk about it all the time, the power-based offense of Ryohei Oyewa
11:21combined with the technical know-how of Zack Sabre Jr.
11:25Well, I mean, don't discount the technical know-how that Yota Tsuji has as well.
11:29You know what I mean?
11:30In his time, not just in the UK, but primarily in Mexico underneath Ultima Guerrero.
11:34You know what I mean?
11:35When you talk about in Mexico, they talk about the maestros, right?
11:38You know what I mean?
11:39The two best maestros you can imagine have had great hands.
11:43Ultima Guerrero with Tsuji and Yoshinari Ogawa with Ryohei Oyewa
11:47as well as Ogawa's hands in Zack Sabre Jr.'s career.
11:50And this is a match the last time Gabe Kidd and Zack Sabre Jr. shared the ring, 8th of August, 2024.
11:56And the end of that match, well, Gabe Kidd came to and had to be told
12:00you've lost your G1 match with Zack Sabre Jr.
12:03Choked unconscious and didn't get his revenge this year's G1
12:09because of the injury to that knee sustained at the hands of Konosuke Takeshiro.
12:13Isn't it funny how everything's connected?
12:15The match denied to us in this year's G1 Climax 35.
12:22Gabe Kidd and Zack Sabre Jr. look to light things back up.
12:25Can we talk a little bit as we are still in the early stages of this matchup?
12:29Kidd trying to grapple with Sabre Jr. in a dangerous way now.
12:31Gabe Kidd and Yota Tsuji, the relationship that they have rooting back to their own days on excursion,
12:37Kidd and Yota Tsuji sharing a house together with Tsuji's excursion in the UK.
12:42Well, I mean, of course it goes back further than that.
12:44I mean, it goes back to 2020.
12:46I mean, they're sharing the house as they did and Gabe Kidd opened his door to Yota Tsuji
12:51when Tsuji was on excursion in the UK because, you know what I mean,
12:55you have to appreciate Gabe Kidd came here, you know,
12:58just as a sort of exchange student and see what was going on here in Japan
13:03because he was training in the LA Dojo underneath Katsuyori Shibato.
13:06And then the pandemic struck and he was stuck here.
13:09He had nowhere to go.
13:10He was living in the Nogue Dojo and it was Gabe Kidd,
13:13it was Yota Tsuji and Yu Yuomura every day, not interacting with anybody else.
13:18Everyone was locked down.
13:19Gabe Kidd going almost out of his mind and very, very nearly in a very dangerous situation.
13:25And a lot of that all the way through, what kept them sane was that ability to compete.
13:30And when finally we were able to have events in G1 Climax 30 in that pandemic G1 in 2020,
13:36every single night it was Gabe Kidd versus Yota Tsuji, Gabe Kidd versus Yu Yuomura,
13:41Yuomura versus Yota Tsuji, and again and again and again they wrestled one another.
13:44They know each other inside and out physically and mentally
13:48and those conversations philosophically that they've had
13:51and those arguments very physical that they've had.
13:54And that's what's brought these bonds together here tonight.
13:57Well, and if Yota Tsuji and Gabe Kidd know each other as well as they do,
14:00then Tsuji, in the mind of Gabe Kidd, should have known better than to try and cut off Kidd
14:05before he could get started back in Yamanashi.
14:07Kidd wanted to keep things hardcore. Tsuji said that is not what we do here in New Japan.
14:11Well, and Tsuji should have known Kidd is not the one to take orders, you know,
14:15and Gabe Kidd said as much. And, you know, I mean, I think that's the thing though.
14:19I mean, I mean, we've talked about it and there's been a lot of talk around
14:22in the Don Callis family and I asked Lance Archer about the relationship
14:25between Okada and Tsuji and they said, well, families fight and they come out closer.
14:29Boy, and I think Gabe Kidd and Yota Tsuji very much the same in that mindset.
14:33Well, look out. Could go either way here.
14:36Sitting down on the cover, Gabe Kidd nearly stole away a World Tag League final.
14:40Whoa, Matrix style underneath. And Zack Sabre Jr. back to the reset tonight.
14:48Chris, I would argue as multiple corners looking for multiple tags.
14:57Ryohei Oya wants Gabe Kidd. It never takes much to take Gabe Kidd and set him ablaze.
15:04And I really think that if Yota Tsuji and Gabe Kidd have one or two more missteps
15:09than they intend to here tonight, Kidd might blow a gasket.
15:13And that's what we saw back at Osaka.
15:14Yeah, and I think Yota Tsuji spoke exactly to your point at the press conference yesterday, Walker,
15:18where he said, well, Oya and Zack Sabre Jr. might be better when it comes to connection as a team.
15:24But, you know, speaking to that point of setting things ablaze, that can be very beneficial for us.
15:29And, you know, Tsuji and Gabe Kidd, Tsuji pointed to the explosivity that they had as a duo, as a tandem.
15:35And that is what's going to bring us to victory.
15:37Those were the words of Yota Tsuji yesterday.
15:41And it's Gabe Kidd, Ryohei Oya, you talked about that strong openweight title battle that they had one year ago today.
15:48And Oya Watt losing out in that encounter with the Tsuji right now for the World Tag League final victory.
15:54As it is not often we get to see Gabe Kidd muscled around like this.
15:59Ryohei Oya Watt sitting in the driver's seat.
16:01This is what I mean.
16:02I think when people have been critical of Oya Watt, they've said, I mean, physically absolutely all of the tools.
16:07And I think it does speak in a way to, I mean, Ice's disdain for Oya Watt.
16:13Oya Watt really hasn't had to ask for anything in his life.
16:15Had a privileged upbringing, privately educated, and gifted with every single tool you can see in terms of his DNA.
16:22Absolutely put together.
16:23And Oya Watt does put in the work.
16:25But, you know, whether he has enough initiative to take things to the next level is something that's very much in the test here tonight.

16:37Here comes Zack Sabre.
16:38Takes a shot to his former G1 final opposition in Tsuji.
16:42And Sabre and Oya Watt feeling very, very comfortable right now.
16:49You know, for all the tag team success Zack Sabre Jr. has had in his career, it shocked me to know that he and Taichi never made it to a World Tag League final.
16:57Yeah, two times they were IWGP Tag Team Champions and did not make the Tag League finals.
17:04As meanwhile, Zack Sabre Jr. going to take control and just one foot down and full offense in.
17:13Oh, it is the digit manipulation here.

17:23You have to be mindful of that stamp across the elbow.
17:29And Sabre so enjoy as to you.

17:45The latter half of this tournament, ever since Yamanashi, Gabe Kidd, and Yoda Tsuji have struggled to find themselves on the same page.
17:50But it was that semi-final victory over the Knockout Brothers.
17:53A win over the IWGP Tag Team Champions that seems, for the time being, to have righted the ship for Kidd and Tsuji.
17:59Yeah, Tsuji is saying that, you know, you see what happens when we're on the same page.
18:05We can do great things.
18:07I mean, so many times over the years, you know, I mean, we've seen, there have been a lot of tag teams over the years that, you know, that straight up just did not like one.
18:18Yeah.
18:19You know what I mean?
18:20They just didn't get a lot.
18:21They took different cars to the venues and that was that.
18:23But when the bell sounded, they were able to put all of that behind them.
18:28And now, Yoda Tsuji going to have to start to put this offense behind them.

18:36And it's Sabre Jr. and Oyoa now picking the legs of the Global Heavyweight Champion.

18:48For as much as we talk about Ryohei Oyoa being a power guy, the former American football player Yoda Tsuji,
18:54certainly going to need to drive with those arms as well on any gene blaster he lands tonight.
18:59You know, that is smart gamesmanship for Sabre Jr., but I don't know how smart it is to stick in the craw of Gabe Kidd.
19:06So much of Zack Sabre Jr.'s game plan is to stick in that craw and bring out that fire so you're forced into making an error.
19:15It might be well not sticking the craw, looking to extricate the craw entirely here.

20:41No one expected Kidd and Tsuji to get to this point, and they will stack tournament with incredible tag teams the way we've seen,
20:47but this unaffiliated War Dog combination being the most successful out of the three we had this year.
20:53I mean, it's almost like they've brute-forced the entire thing, you know, through their own individual skills.
20:58Yeah.
20:59Being able to get through to this point.
21:03Well, certainly Gabe Kidd trying to brute-force his way through Zack Saber Jr.'s chest right here.
21:15I mean, if you can't breathe, you can't apply a submission hold.
21:17Yeah, I think it's really telling here tonight, Chris, to look to the corners of Tsuji and Kidd into TMDK.
21:20Yoda Tsuji making the tag, and it is a spiritual rematch to the G1-34 Final that saw Saber Jr. crown himself a G1 winner for the first time,
21:41and it led all the way to an incredible world title reign that we saw.
21:46Yeah, and it led to back-to-back Tokyo Dome main events,
21:50something that nobody has ever done to retain the championship on back-to-back nights in the Tokyo Dome.
21:57I mean, certainly that is a feat on the level of what Yoda Tsuji seeks to achieve against Konosuke Takeshi on January the 4th.
22:06It could well be, you're right, January the 4th,
22:11the IWGP, Heavyweight and Global Championships, and then January the 5th, the tag team titles.
22:17And that could really go either way for Gabe Kidd, Yoda Tsuji, or TMDK.
