The Illusion – If It's So (1970) (USA, Garage,Psychedelic,Hard Rock)
The band's third album was their strongest. The 1970 album "If It's So" marked the band's transition to larger musical forms with a more complex structure, a heavier sound, and more pronounced psychedelic motifs. All this, coupled with the musicians' significantly increased skill, produced a very interesting result. This is professionally performed, highly original music, close to progressive, and highly recommended to all fans of 1960s rock music. Unfortunately, reliable information about the reasons for the breakup of this interesting group was not found. After "The Illusion," Mike Ricciardella played in "Barnaby Bye," and later joined "Wiggy Bits" with Mike Maniscalco and Richie Cerniglia. Chuck Alder made his mark in the experimental jazz trio "The Deep," and later focused on teaching. Almost the entire lineup (except Chuck Alder) reunited in 1977 as the band "Network," but that's another story...
