00:05suffered by Salvadoran migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia under the Trump administration were
00:10surrounded by illegalities. Magistrate Paola Chines ordered his immediate release,
00:15noting that Abrego had been detained multiple times without proper legal authorization.
00:21The ruling also highlighted contradictions in the government's claim that his detention was
00:25intended for deportation. Abrego, like more than 200 Venezuelan citizens, had been held in the
00:32Salvador's Cicot facility. The Department of Homeland Security announced it will appeal the decision.
