00:05It was a domino effect.

00:07They cleared every category essentially that they were in, and it was a non-contest.

00:12I'm not even sure why people thought they were even slightly going to win.

00:14People are upset about Hollow Knight Silksong not winning.

00:17This was my game of the year.

00:18How did this win?

00:19This is absurd.

00:19An RPG beat this?

00:21Look at the gameplay.

00:22And people are sharing gameplay clips on Twitter, and I've beaten the game.

00:26I want to point this out.

00:26I've beaten the game over 20 times.

00:28I've beaten the game.

00:29Religiously, I have loved the combat.

00:31It reminds me of a more centralized Devil May Cry mixed with Bayonetta, mixed with Final Fantasy.

00:37It is a great, phenomenal, just awe-inspiring game.

00:40Now, I want to point something out.

00:42A lot of people are saying that Claire Obscure didn't deserve to win the nomination.

00:46They say, oh, Claire Obscure?

00:48Claire Obscure?

00:49What?

00:49This game doesn't deserve anything.

00:51And I'll give you this.

00:53If you're an RPG hater, much like myself, as a matter of fact, I will tell you what my whole body, mind, and soul,

00:58and my spirit, shout out to Jesus Christ, I absolutely hate RPGs.

01:03You may not believe this.

01:05I look like the man that was nausea running through the halls playing nothing but JRPGs back in the day,

01:09but in reality, I don't like them.

01:11I haven't been a fan of them for quite some time.

01:13As a matter of fact, I hate waiting my turn to attack.

01:16Claire Obscure, much like many games before it, did a different kind of battle mechanic where you could actually react.

01:22I believe Golden Sun was one of the games that actually had this kind of battle mechanic, but this was phenomenal.

01:27It allowed you to be an active participant inside the orchestra of what the game was.

01:32You could actually be a part of the play.

01:34You were an actor.

01:36You were in there.

01:37You were a part of the whole coagula.

01:39You were a part of the butterfly.

01:41You were there.

01:42You were there.

01:42But I've seen people say, well, how good is the game?

01:47Is it really a tenazan experience?

01:49Will it change my life?

01:50And I want to tell you this right now.

01:52Lower your expectations.

01:53I've seen so many people.

01:54I've seen Rhyme Style.

02:11But there is so many, and I mean so many people, actively saying, this game didn't deserve it.

02:18And they're going to go into the game with these unrealistic expectations.

02:21And they're going to say, well, this is absurd.

02:25It shouldn't be this good.

02:27And they're coming at it the wrong way.

02:30When I first saw Clear Obscure, Expedition 33, I didn't think I was going to make this hour-long video about it right here,

02:38dissecting every single one of the characters because I love this so much.

02:40Didn't think that at all.

02:41As a matter of fact, I don't like story games.

02:45I hate Uncharted.

02:46I hate Last of Us.

02:47Any game that has too deep of a story.

02:49Big reason why, you're going to hate me for this.

02:51Just go ahead and hate me for this.

02:53I've never finished Red Dead Redemption 2 because it takes too long to get up off the ground.

02:57It just takes too long.

02:58I don't like story games.

02:59I don't like games that force me to sit through a story.

03:03Expedition 33 did the one rule in storytelling that I respect with my whole chest.

03:09It didn't force me to learn the narrative.

03:14It didn't force me to.

03:15I was actively invested and enamored in the mystery of the world to the point where I needed to discover every single part of it.

03:23I needed to figure out every single smidgen, every single piece, every follicle of that foreskin.

03:28I needed to figure it out.

03:30That's why I love Expedition 33.

03:32I'm not going to tell you what the game's about.

03:34I'm not going to tell you that it's the best game I've ever played because it's not.

03:37It's not the best game I've ever played.

03:39But it is definitely in the top three and it's definitely not number three.

03:42Number two at best.

03:43Maybe one sometimes, depending on how I'm feeling.

03:45It's pretty good because it's not in my top one.

03:47It might be my top negative five because it's so good.

03:51It's so good.

03:51I cried during the game.

03:54I felt emotions that I felt were like dormant inside of my chest, body, mind, and spirit.

03:58I was so happy playing this game.

04:03And people are very angry.

04:04I've seen people on Twitter just in a tizzy.

04:07Just, oh, this is ridiculous.

04:10What's this absurd?

04:11Why don't we take Expedition 33 and push it over there?

04:16I've seen people say, well, we shouldn't let this happen again.

04:18We should have games actively have only three awards they can win because they win more

04:24than three awards.

04:25We gotta let other games have their awards too.

04:27No.

04:28If a game has a fantastic score, great art direction, amazing RPG, is a phenomenal game

04:33overall, has amazing voice actors, has voice actresses, then it deserves all the awards.

04:39Other games should do better.

04:40Other games should do as the game has done.

04:43I've seen people say there should be fighting game categories and all this other stuff.

04:46I've seen that and I've seen people also upset at No Man's Sky without actually playing

04:50No Man's Sky because No Man's Sky has been doing great for the better part of the last

04:54five years.

04:55No Man's Sky has been doing phenomenal.

04:57It started off garbage, but it is absolutely amazing, especially with the community support

05:01that they're having right now.

05:01It is just great.

05:03I am not, what's the word I'm looking for?

05:08I'm not really upset about the game awards.

05:10But I knew that the big door, I told people on screen that the big door is probably some

05:15worthless game like Diablo because nobody remembers Diablo and lo and behold, the big door was

05:20essentially a teaser for Diablo.

05:21I've seen people say, oh man, this game deserves nothing.

05:27And so many people, you're going to see so many people streaming Claire Obscure Expedition

05:3133.

05:32Go on Twitch right now, go on Twitch right now and look at how many people are streaming

05:38Claire Obscure Expedition 33 and saying something in their titles such as, this is my game of

05:43the year, this one game of the year, let's see if it's good.

05:46There's going to be so many YouTube people playing it saying this game, one game of the

05:49year, really.

05:50It's going to be so many people and you know what's going to happen.

05:52This is exactly what's going to happen.

05:53They're going to play the game, then they're going to not play it because they're going to

05:57get that big upsurge and they're going to notice they're not getting all the viewers

05:59they want and then they're going to stop playing it.

06:02Mark my words on that.

06:03Mark them down, put them in a little pamphlet, put them in a book, put them in the back of

06:06your back.

06:07I promise you that's what's going to happen.

06:08I wanted this game to win really bad.

06:13Same way I wanted Bellatro to win.

06:15So happy Bellatro got its just due diligence and it got everything it wanted and Bellatro

06:19is one of my favorite games of all time.

06:22I think Claire Obscure is a game that deserves every bit of praise it has received.

06:28It is a revolutionary game that is phenomenally cheap.

06:32I believe it's $50, $50.

06:35I bought the game for $50 and if you have any reservations about this game winning game

06:41of the year, if you have any reservations about any game, your favorite games didn't

06:44win the game.

06:45I want to point this out.

06:45The game, the wars mean virtually nothing besides getting recognition.

06:51I didn't think Donkey Kong Bonanza was going to win.

06:53That's the first Nepo baby of a game of the year nominee that I've ever seen in my entire

06:59life.

06:59That is a pure Nepo baby.

07:02I am con I will give Silksong its due diligence.

07:06People have been waiting for Silksong for a while.

07:08If it, if Silksong released last year, it probably would have swept.

08:00into Claire Obscure Expedition 33 thinking that it is the perfect game, thinking that is

08:06a phenomenal, phenomenal game.

08:11Think it is a game that will change you fundamentally as a person.

08:15It will be the game that will make you feel good.

08:19It's a great game to people that invest their time into it.

08:24As a matter of fact, you can go through the whole game, the whole entire story without

08:26even discovering the big story beats.

08:29You really can.

08:30You can miss so much in the game.

08:32And the game doesn't care because it wants you to take your own time with it.

08:35And it's an incredibly short game.

08:36The game probably took me 30 hours to beat.

08:3930 hours, maybe less, honestly.

08:42And if you just beat the main story, maybe 24 hours.

08:49And if you decide content, an extra six on top of that.

08:52It's a great game.
