00:00I am heavily invested in the Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, and Sabrina
00:06Carpenter love triangle so I'm breaking down all the drama for you.
00:12Hey guys it's Ali for Hollywood Life with today's biggest headline and the
00:17start of something new I might say. What the heck happened between Olivia
00:20Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett that could have made her write such a heartbreaking
00:23song? First some background. Olivia who stars as Nina in high school musical
00:29the musical on Disney Plus shared a song that she wrote after getting her
00:33license and it ended up going viral on TikTok so she decided to record it for
00:37real for real. It then crawled its way up the charts surpassing Justin Bieber and
00:42Taylor Swift for the number one spot on Spotify's US chart, Apple Music's overall
00:46track chart, and Amazon Music's overall top songs chart. Now you literally cannot
00:51scroll on TikTok without hearing someone react to the song, create a point of view
00:55of the song, or just sit crying listening to it like I like I did last time but
00:59it's fine I'm better now. Anyway if you haven't heard the song it's pretty much
01:03reminiscent of fearless era Taylor Swift and documents somebody tearfully
01:09driving past their ex's house after finally getting their driver's license but
01:13he's moved on with a blonde. Now a la Taylor Swift it appears Olivia took her
01:19real-life heartbreak and turned it into art but now everyone's trying to figure out
01:24what the frick happened and what this guy did to break her heart. Welcome to the
01:29scene, Joshua Bassett. Olivia's high school musical The Musical Co-star who she was
01:34never confirmed to be dating but fans swore that they were. In March 2020 Olivia
01:39shared a love song that she wrote about someone with a brown-eyed smile which
01:43fans definitely thought was Joshua. And then in May of last year they stopped
01:48liking each other's posts on Instagram. Which is a big sign of a breakup for Gen Z.
01:53Okay. Then in August Joshua spotted having lunch with enter Sabrina Carpenter
01:58who's 21 to his 17. This is important later. These two seem to continue whatever
02:02relationship they had because in October they also shared TikToks in a couple's
02:07costume. Fast forward to January 8th the official release of Driver's License by Olivia
02:12and in it she sings. And you're probably with that blonde girl who always made me
02:18doubt she's so much older than me. She's everything I'm insecure about.
02:25Even better Sabrina's ex Griffin Glock who I literally interviewed at my last
02:31red carpet before the world shut down and Sabrina was there to support him in
02:35March shared that exact line on his Instagram story. Riddle me shock. No one has
02:41confirmed any of this. It's all fan speculation but honestly it sounds good
02:45to me. I need it. I need it. I need it in my veins. And Joshua has liked all the
02:50posts about Driver's License and posted his own support of the song to his
02:54Instagram story. Which just feels equivalent to like John Mayer telling
02:57people to listen to Dear John. If only Instagram was around back then. Until then
03:00I'm anxiously awaiting the next two days until Joshua's single lie lie lie drops.
03:06But for now comment your thoughts below on this drama. Follow me on social media at
