00:20bilang changemaker for public trust, ethical journalism, and community advocacy

00:26sa ilalim ng Sustainable Development Goal 16 na Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

00:32Sa kanyang acceptance speech, ikinagulat ni Charms ang paggawad sa kanya ng parangal.

00:37This is a celebration of visionaries and changemakers

00:42who stand together to create meaningful and lasting change.

00:46And I think that's why it's so important, especially broadcast journalists like myself

00:52and everyone in media or has an impact to a lot of people,

00:56that you make sure that you stand for something significant.

01:00I have always stood for one of my biggest advocacies,

01:04which is environmental protection and conservation and animal rights.

01:10And being in media, especially in government media, is so important

01:14because you need to talk about the truth.

01:17We have a mandate to not just inform and educate the people

01:21about what government programs are being imparted to the people,

01:26but also to let people understand issues and the truth,

01:31what matters to them, so that they make better choices.

01:34That's the power of responsible media.

01:36It turns information into action, and action then turns into change.

01:42Dagdag pa niya, may kakayahan ang bawat tao na makagawa ng pagbabago sa mundo.

01:48Bukod pa sa responsable at malayang pamamahayag,

01:51personal rin na isinusulong ni Charms ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan at ang animal welfare.
