00:11Ayon sa DENR, halos maubos ang mga pulo sa site para sa pagpapatayo ng proyekto.

00:21Naghainan ang criminal case ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources

00:25laban sa developer na Monterazas de Cebu

00:28na isa sa itinuturong sandhit ng matinding pagbaha sa Cebu noong nakaraang buwan

00:32matapos manalasa ang Bagyong Tino.

00:35For the Monterazas case, we already filed a criminal case on December 3, 2025

00:43for violation of Section 77 of Presidential Decree No. 705

00:49or the Revised Forestry Code against the corporation.

00:52Ayon sa ahensya, handa silang ilatag ang mga ebedensya

00:56kabilang ang satellite imagery at inventory.

00:59If I'm not mistaken, there was an intention to apply for something

01:03because a inventory was conducted in 2022 which identified 745 trees.

01:11And last we checked, I mean when we checked recently,

01:16there were only 11 trees left.

01:20So, ah, sa kaso na yan, siyempre maglalabanan ng ebidensya.

01:27They have their claim and we have our, before this case was filed,

01:30of course we studied whatever we had in the regional level.

01:33Maharap ang developer sa dalawa hanggang tatlong taong pagkakakulong

01:37na may isa hanggang sampung dibong pisong multa.

01:40Kukumpis kahindi na kanilang mga gamit

01:43at otomatikong kakansilahin ng permit o lisensya.

01:46Patuloy naman ang pagkikipag-ugnay ng DENR sa local government unit

01:50patungkol sa nangyaring anomalya.

01:53Samantala, dahil sa lumulubhang problema sa baha,

01:56nakikipag-ugnay na ang DENR sa iba't ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan

02:01para sa flood mitigation at implementasyon ng National Flood Master Plan.

02:05Flood mitigation, as the President has constantly stressed,

02:11must begin at the headwaters with forest, wetlands, and watersheds

02:18not merely at the point where this water overflow.

02:23So we have worked closely with the team of Secretary Vince Disson

02:28in order to make sure that infrastructure projects,

02:34especially for flood control,

02:36are aligned with the river basin plans

02:41as well as with the nature-based solutions.
