Ellie, a student at the magical Blackwood Academy, desperately seeks silence in the library to finish her "Ethics of Necromancy" essay, despite the warning from an angel student about a strict Golem librarian. Her attempts at study are ruined by her loud, werewolf friend, Luna. For repeatedly violating the silence policy, the Golem Girl, a powerful construct, first gags Luna with a hand of sticky, viscous clay, and when Luna speaks again, the Golem escalatingly binds her hands behind her back and seals her mouth with a thick, hardening clay gag, leaving Ellie to finally finish her work in blissful, enforced silence.

00:00The academic rigor of Blackwood Academy was no joke.
00:04While half the classes involved taming griffins or brewing potions that smelled like burnt sugar and ozone,
00:09the other half involved the dreadfully mundane portrait of essay writing.
00:14Ellie had procrastinated on her Ethics of Necromancy paper until the day before it was due.
00:21Seeking sanctuary, Ellie gathered her parchment and quills and headed for the Academy library.
00:26It was a cathedral of knowledge, a cavernous space with ceilings so high they were lost in shadow.
00:34The shelves spiraled upward like DNA strands, reachable only by floating ladders that drifted lazily through the air.
00:42The silence here was heavy, a physical weight that pressed against the eardrums,
00:46broken only by the rustle of pages and the occasional soft hoot of a spectral owl.
00:51Ellie navigated through the cursed tomes section, giving the books with teeth a wide berth,
00:57and found a secluded table near the back.
01:01Standing there, organizing a stack of books, was a girl Ellie hadn't met before.
01:07She was undeniably angelic, literally.
01:11She had a halo of soft, golden curls, a pair of pristine white-feathered wings folded neatly against her back,
01:17and she wore a pair of thick-rimmed glasses that kept sliding down her nose.
01:23Oh!
01:24You must be the human, the angel girl squeaked, her face lighting up with divine excitement.
01:30I'm Seraphina.
01:32I've wanted to meet you for ages.
01:36Ellie smiled, happy to meet someone who looked relatively harmless.
01:41Hi, Seraphina.
01:44I'm Ellie.
01:45It's nice to...
01:47You have no idea.
01:49Seraphina interrupted, her voice rising in pitch and volume, echoing sharply in the quiet hall.
01:56I have so many questions.
01:59Do you really sleep eight hours?
02:02Is it true you can't fly at all?
02:05Not even a hover?
02:07Before Ellie could answer, Seraphina's eyes widened behind her lenses.
02:12Panic flashed across her face.
02:16Oh no, too loud, she whispered frantically.
02:20In a blur of white feathers, she stepped forward and slapped a hand over Ellie's mouth.
02:26Ellie blinked, surprised but by now resigned to this specific form of interaction.
02:31Seraphina's hand was small, warm, and smelled faintly of vanilla.
02:36I am so sorry, the angel whispered urgently, keeping her hand firmly in place.
02:43But you have to be quiet.
02:46The head librarian is an alchemist, and she built a guardian.
02:51A golem girl.
02:53She patrols the stacks, and she strictly enforces the silence policy.
02:59Ellie nodded against Seraphina's palm, signaling she understood.
03:05Seraphina peeked around a bookshelf, checking for danger, before slowly releasing Ellie.
03:10Sorry about that, she apologized, her wings fluttering nervously.
03:17The golem girl.
03:19She's intense.
03:22Good luck with your essay.
03:25With a shy wave, Seraphina grabbed her books and fluttered away to a higher level.
03:31Ellie sighed, sat down, and dipped her quill in ink.
03:36Finally.
03:37Quiet.
03:38Quiet.
03:39She managed to write three sentences before the chair next to her scraped loudly against the stone floor.
03:46Ellie.
03:47There you are.
03:49Ellie winced.
03:51She knew that cheerful, bubbling voice anywhere.
03:56She turned to see Luna beaming at her, plunking a stack of comic books down on the table.
04:01I looked everywhere for you.
04:04Your room was empty, and Hacker said she hadn't seen you since third period, and Luna, shush.
04:12Ellie hissed, glancing around nervously.
04:15We're in the library.
04:18Luna waved a hand dismissively.
04:20Oh, it's fine.
04:24No one's around.
04:26Ellie looked at her friend.
04:28It must have been close to the new moon.
04:32Luna looked almost entirely human tonight.
04:35The usual fluffiness of her wolf ears was still there, twitching atop her head, and her tail was wagging beneath the table, thumping against Ellie's leg.
04:46But her hands, usually covered in fine silver fur with polly pads, looked completely human, slender, pale, and devoid of claws.
04:55So, anyway, Luna continued, her voice carrying easily in the stillness.
05:02You won't believe what happened in potions.
05:06The slime girls got into the glitter jar again, and Luna, seriously, Ellie whispered, trying to convey the urgency with her eyes.
05:15There's a golem.
05:17You need to be quiet.
05:19A golem?
05:21Luna laughed, a bright, barking sound.
05:25Like a pile of rocks.
05:28I'm not scared of some rocks.
05:31Besides, I wanted to tell you about the weekend.
05:35The pack is going on a run, and I was thinking, if you got a piggyback ride from Hagra, maybe you could come and she never finished the sentence.
05:45Silently, a shadow detached itself from the darkness behind Luna's chair.
05:50It was a tall, imposing figure, sculpted entirely from dense, earthen clay.
05:57She wore a stiff version of the academy uniform that seemed molded directly onto her body.
06:02Her hair was thick coils of muddy brown clay, and her eyes were polished obsidian orbs.
06:10Before Ellie could even gasp a warning, the golem girl moved with surprising speed.
06:14She reached around Luna and clamped a large, heavy hand firmly over the werewolf's mouth.
06:22Splat!
06:23The sound was wet and heavy, like a handful of mud hitting the wall.
06:28Luna's eyes went wide as saucers.
06:31Her sentence was instantly cut off, replaced by a muffled, surprised grunt.
06:38First warning, the golem girl stated.
06:41Her voice was deep and grinding, like tectonic plates shifting.
06:47Excessive volume.
06:49Detention protocol.
06:51Five minutes of silence.
06:53Luna squirmed, reaching up to pull the hand away.
06:56She gripped the golem's wrist, but her human-looking fingers just sank slightly into the surface of the golem's arm without finding purchase.
07:06Ellie watched, fascinated and, admittedly, a little relieved.
07:11She noticed Luna flinch at the initial impact and looked at the golem with concern.
07:17Is...
07:18Is that hurting her?
07:20The golem turned her obsidian eyes to Ellie.
07:25Negative.
07:26I am an advanced construct.
07:29I possess variable density control.
07:33To demonstrate, the golem shifted her grip slightly.
07:37The clay of her hand, previously looking rigid, seemed to soften and flow around the contours of Luna's face.
07:45My palm is currently set to viscous clay mode.
07:49It is soft, pliable, and moist.
07:52It creates a perfect seal without inflicting blunt force trauma.
07:57It is, however, quite sticky.
08:01Luna made a loud, indignant noise against the clay, but the sound was swallowed completely by the thick, wet substance covering the lower half of her face.
08:10She tried to pull her head back, but the golem's arm was as immovable as a mountain, and the sticky nature of the clay kept her face glued to the palm.
08:20Please resume your studies, human.
08:23The golem, the golem, the golem droned.
08:26This unit will ensure silence is maintained.
08:30For the next five minutes, Ellie wrote her essay in blissful silence, accompanied only by the soft thump-thump-thump of Luna's tail hitting the chair leg in frustration.
08:40Luna sat there, pouting, her mouth completely engulfed by the golem's large, muddy hand.
08:46She looked at Ellie with pleading puppy-dog eyes, but Ellie just shrugged apologetically and kept writing.
08:54Finally, the golem checked an internal clock.
08:58Time elapsed.
09:00With a wet, sucking sound, the golem peeled her hand away from Luna's face.
09:05Luna gasped, taking a deep breath.
09:09Her mouth and chin were left slightly damp and shiny from the residue.
09:12She frantically wiped her mouth with her sleeve.
09:18You!
09:20Gross!
09:21That tasted like dirt, she whispered loudly.
09:26Silence, the golem warned, standing like a statue behind her.
09:31Okay, okay.
09:33Sheesh, Luna muttered.
09:36She turned to Ellie, leaning in close.
09:39That was so rude, she whispered.
09:43I was just talking.
09:45Ellie nodded sympathetically, pointing to her essay to indicate she needed to work.
09:51Luna sighed and picked up a comic book.
09:55Peace reigned for exactly three minutes.
09:58Then, Luna turned a page and gasped.
10:02No way!
10:03Look, Ellie!
10:05The silver sentinel is totally going to.
10:09Her excitement got the better of her, and her voice ramped up to full volume instantly.
10:14Kiss the vampire queen.
10:16The shadow loomed instantly.
10:19Second warning, the golem's voice grated.
10:23Repeat offender.
10:25Luna froze, realizing her mistake.
10:28Wait, I didn't mean, splat.
10:32The clay hand returned, slamming over Luna's mouth with more force than before.
10:38Luna let out a muffled whine, her ears flattening against her head.
10:43Punishment escalation required, the golem announced.
10:48Physical restraint and gagging protocols engaged.
10:52The golem didn't just hold her hand there this time.
10:56She pressed firmly, the clay of her palm seeming to liquefy slightly,
11:01flowing over Luna's lips and in between them, creating a thick, heavy plug.
11:05Then, the golem slowly pulled her hand away.
11:10But the clay didn't come off.
11:13A thick, rectangular patch of wet, heavy clay remained plastered over Luna's mouth, sealing it shut.
11:20It looked like a thick piece of duct tape made of mud.
11:24Luna's eyes widened in horror.
11:27She raised her hands to claw it off, but the golem was faster.
11:31Restraint necessary to prevent removal of silencing agent, the golem intoned.
11:38She grabbed Luna's wrists, pulling her arms forcefully behind her back.
11:44Luna struggled, her heels scuffing against the floor, but she was no match for the construct's strength.
11:51The golem brought Luna's human-looking hands together at the small of her back.
11:56From the golem's own wrists, thick tendrils of clay flowed down like living sludge,
12:02wrapping around Luna's wrists, binding them together in a thick, earthen cuff.
12:07Hardening, the golem commanded.
12:10Instantly, the color of the clay on Luna's wrists shifted from dark mud-brown to a pale, dry gray.
12:17The clay solidified into rock-hard terracotta.
12:20Luna tugged, but her hands were locked in stone handcuffs that were fused to the golem's own design,
12:27though currently detached from the golem's body.
12:30The golem stepped back to admire her work.
12:34Luna was sitting in the chair, a thick, wet patch of clay gagging her mouth,
12:39and her hands locked in stone behind her back.
12:42She tried to shout, but the heavy clay over her lips absorbed everything,
12:47leaving only the faintest, pathetic, muffled sound.
12:58She looked at Ellie, her eyes wide and shimmering with unshed tears of frustration and embarrassment,
13:06looking utterly helpless and undeniably cute.
13:09Release will occur upon your departure from the library, the golem stated, crossing her arms.
13:17Do not attempt to remove the oral seal.
13:20Ellie looked at her best friend, bound and gagged with magical mud.
13:25A pang of sympathy struck her.
13:27She knew exactly how it felt to be overpowered and silenced like that.
13:32She reached out and patted Luna's shoulder comfortingly.
13:35I'm almost done, Luna, Ellie whispered.
13:40Just hang in there.
13:43Luna slumped in her chair, letting out a long, defeated sigh through her nose,
13:48her tail stopping its wag.
13:50Ellie turned back to her parchment.
13:53The library was perfectly silent.
13:57The only sound was the scratching of her quill and the occasional,
14:01soft, indignant sigh from the werewolf beside her.
14:04Ellie suppressed a smile.
14:08As sorry as she felt for Luna, she had to admit it was nice to not be the one being silenced.
