00:26from Joe Jonas and Zayn's split from fiance Perry Edwards are officially over. The breakup rumors

00:32started as soon as Zayn unfollowed Gigi, always the universal sign shit has gone down in a modern

00:38relationship. But it's actually Twitter where they both release statements. Zayn's reads,

00:43Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship. He goes on to call her an

00:48incredible soul and says he's grateful to fans for respecting this difficult decision and our

00:54privacy at this time, but finishes saying we wish this news could have come from us first.

00:59That's because the UK publication The Sun actually had this one pegged before Zayn was ready to announce.

01:05Meanwhile, Gigi is also saying all the right things, writing breakups often seem impersonal because

01:11there is really no way to put into words what two people experienced together over a few years.

01:16She goes on to say she's forever grateful for the love and time with Zayn, wishes him the best,

01:22and says they will continue to be friends. She does end with a bit of a cryptic line,

01:26as for the future, whatever's meant to be will always be XG. This is all very mature and no one

01:33is pointing fingers, but that hasn't stopped our reporters in LA from finding out what really went

01:38down. A source very close to Zayn tells us this split comes because Gigi was fed up not being able

01:45to go out because of Zayn's anxiety that has made him basically a hermit. Recall Zayn's anxiety issues

01:51are part of the reason he left One Direction so suddenly and why he stopped performing live

01:56after dropping his solo album. We're told the romance of the relationship was just lost between

02:01Zayn being cooped up and they both decided they wanted to be alone. But this source comes from

02:06Zayn's side of things. Gigi, however, hints the door is still open to get back together in the future

02:12in her Twitter message and we're told that's the truth. Of course, Zayn also has Gigi's eyes

02:17tattooed on his chest. What to do about that? Well, we're also told they remind Zayn of good

02:23times and he has no plans to remove them or cover them. His love for his tattoos and for Gigi

02:29isn't diminished with this split. I'm sad about this, but I also want to say I'm really worried

02:34about Zayn. He's looking extremely thin in all his recent posts and now Gigi leaving too is seriously

02:41not a good sign in regards to his mental health.
