Transcript
00:00Russell Westbrook goes ballistic and basically threatens a fan and his wife.
00:06Jussie Smollett may cause Empire to be canceled, plus Conor McGregor was arrested again.
00:14Hey guys, it's Ali for Hollywood Life, and the news is drier than a biscuit from Popeyes today,
00:19so we're dealing with literal tea leaves. Regardless, here are some WTF stories of the day,
00:24starting with Jussie Smollett, because apparently Empire could be canceled because of him.
00:29TMZ reports people on the show are anxious because Fox has yet to renew Empire for a sixth season.
00:35Apparently, the staff is used to hearing renewal news around this time,
00:38but things have been mum in the wake of Jussie's situation.
00:42The show creator already revealed Jussie's character will be removed from the last two
00:46episodes of the season, and apparently his character is supposed to be out of the country.
00:50TMZ also reports even if the show is an axe, the cast and crew don't want Jussie around.
00:56To someone else with legal woes, Conor McGregor. TMZ reports he was arrested again for allegedly
01:02smashing a fan's phone outside of Fountain Blue in Miami. The site claims around 5am the fan tried
01:08taking a photo of Conor, who apparently slapped it away. Conor then allegedly stomped on the phone
01:14several times, picked it up and walked away. Now apparently there's some security footage of the
01:19incident, which I'd very much like to see. Conor was arrested several hours later at his Miami home,
01:24but as of this recording, he has been released after paying a $12,000 bail.
01:29But okay, to another athlete who really lost, Russell Westbrook. The OKC Thunderstar went
01:35ballistic while on the sidelines, threatening to beat up a fan and his wife. And yes, it is all on video.
01:42I'm playing. I swear to God. I swear to God.
01:46Yeah.
01:47You and your wife.
01:48Woohoo.
01:48Woohoo.
01:49You and your wife.
01:50Yeah.
01:50Woohoo.
01:51Everything I love.
01:52Yeah.
01:53Woohoo.
01:53Apparently, Russell misheard the fan, believing he said something racist to him along the lines
01:58of, get down on your knees like you're used to. However, TMZ reports the fan denies the claims,
02:04and apparently he told Russell, who was wearing knee pads, to ice those knees up.
02:08I know Russell is in the wrong, but in what world is it cool for fans to give orders to professional
02:12athletes? The fan later spoke to ESPN, revealing he was upset by Russell's comments, especially ones
02:18aimed at his wife, who was apparently silent during the incident. The man tells the site,
02:22quote, I'm not afraid of the guy. Come on up. But when you threaten a woman that's five feet tall
02:26and 110 pounds, you're a big guy. So this guy needs to be exposed. Russell spoke after the game
02:32and was adamant about what he heard, saying he's willing to take the criticism, but will not allow
02:37the disrespect. He also said if it happened again, he would say the same thing and reminded
02:42everyone this isn't the first time he's been verbally attacked. However, Russell also told
02:47reporters, as for beating up his wife, I have never put my hand on a woman. I never will. Never been
02:52in any domestic violence before. And once he said the comment, his wife repeated the same thing to
02:57me as well. So that's kind of how that started. It's pretty wild. But if you want more updates on
03:02this story, you know what to do. Hit the sub, like and bell button for all the latest and follow me
