On Tuesday, China launched a new communications technology test satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province. The Shiyan-22 satellite was carried aboard a Long March-3B rocket at 11:08 p.m. local time and successfully entered its planned orbit. The satellite will provide services such as satellite communication, data transmission, and radio and television broadcasting, while also conducting technical tests and validations. This mission marked the 615th launch of China’s Long March rocket series.
