43:45but for those of you who don't know it here's the short version
43:50my parents were both junior hockey coaches and they were hit by a drunk driver when i was 12 years
44:00old mercifully for them they died instantly mercifully for me the saint thomas scholarships
44:08existed i didn't have anybody else to help me had a lot of memories a love of hockey and a huge hole
44:20in my heart saint thomas filled it with hope the hope of a new family things things weren't always
44:29easy you know they never are for anybody but in hockey i found what i was missing
44:36first at my high school then later at college and now here with the admirals
44:41and i never looked back because i never had to
44:46the family i craved the family that i needed that that i still need today
44:53hockey gave it to me and saint thomas gave me hockey
45:00so from the bottom of my heart i want to thank you all for being here tonight
45:06and for supporting this cause because it's not just a scholarship it's
45:10it's everything that comes with it it's a whole world
