00:08The millionth bale is a big milestone for AWECS.
00:11We started this journey back in 2018.
00:14I think it's a testimony to the industry and AWECS's commitment to digitalising the wool clip specification.
00:20The ability to trace the bale from farm right through the pipeline to the mills overseas.

00:30My name is Charles Kaye. I work at Warrenbook Proprietary Limited where I'm the general manager of the business.
00:36It's really exciting for the business and the team to be part of this step into the 21st century.
00:41Music
00:45The textile industry is looking for traceability to be able to track a garment basically back to a farmer.
00:51This gives us the ability to reliably and consistently be able to trace that with the RFID tags that we're scanning on wool.
00:59Music
01:03I was very excited when I heard that we were lucky enough to get this millionth bale.
01:07And one of the reasons is because I do believe that this is the future.
01:11Music
01:13The benefits of using WoolClip is you can scan the bales as you go and you can check the bale to make sure none of the brands are wrong and everything's alright.
01:22Music
01:24Now more than ever our customers are wanting to have that traceability.
01:28That WoolClip gives each bale right from when it's scanned in shed then can be traced through to the brokers through shipping and through to when it was tipped out in the bale in a mill.
01:40It's less room for error and it's far more efficient than it has been in the past.

01:50Here it is, the millionth bale. This sample is tested exceptionally well. It's 17 micron on the dot and the yield is very good, 75.5%.
01:59It's tested with very low vegetable matter, only 0.2%. So, let's see how it goes today.
02:06We're into the golden catalogue. It's the one minute bale which was processed using WoolClip. And we'll start at 1550.
02:16Yeah, 60, 2, 70.
02:19It's a lovely lot, 17 micron, it's got all the right data and everything with it. It will end up in China in some way or form.
02:36That feels wonderful. I'm just happy that the company that I bought it for, Matt Sun, they wanted to go forward with it.
02:44So, with a system like this, the traceability becomes a lot easier. It's all about supporting the industry in general.
02:50It'll probably be in a container on the water within two weeks and it'll be in China in another three weeks.
02:56It'll be on machines and it'll probably be made into a fabric within six weeks.
03:02That's how quick that it'll be a turnaround.
03:05I think it's a great result, how it's turned out. It's a great buyer that's in a company that's bought it.
03:12It's a huge milestone for AWEX and Woolclip.
03:16So I feel a sense of excitement when I've seen that millionth bale come through.
03:22And then to have the ability to come here and watch it today and watch it being sold and then have a connection with that buyer and where it's going to end up.
03:31I can't wait to see the next part of this millionth bale and where it ends up and hopefully what garment it ends up in.
