00:00Who wants to start?
00:02Yeah, really difficult night.
00:14The energy that we created at half-time,
00:17I suppose that last 15 minutes or so before half-time was really good,
00:21and we wanted to try and keep that momentum.
00:25Clearly we didn't, but we got ourselves back in the game,
00:29which in difficult circumstances we gifted them a goal.
00:32The energy was obviously always going to be tough then going behind
00:35in the manner that we did.
00:38We worked through it and were able to come on to a bit of a good performance
00:42for that short period of time before our time dragged ourselves back into the game.
00:47The boys could feed it, they could feed it.
00:50When I looked in their eyes and spoke to them at half-time,
00:52they were like, we've got to run with that now, we've got to go with that.
00:56We were able to start the second half, we lost a few duels,
01:00a couple of turnovers.
01:02Ultimately, the big moments were the goals in the game
01:05and the first three goals, for me, I think were gifts.
01:10You know, where we had the ball, turnovers, transitions and got punished.
01:15I think you'll understand that a big part of today has been the fans wanting to make their voice
01:20serve with the protests, some of them not coming in for 15 minutes in that game as well,
01:24and a bit of the interaction with players during the game.
01:27Could you get your thoughts on the idea of protesting, but also the impact it might have had on your side?
01:32Look, I understand the frustration totally.
01:34I think, Max, you said it's been six months since we've last won, so I get it.
01:39So I'm not going to sit here and dress it up or anything like that at all.
01:42So I understand that side of it.
01:44And then, yeah, I think I'd love it if they supported the players,
01:49but again, I understand the frustration because of the situation, you know, that we're in.
01:54So, you know, the players are trying, you know, I can promise that,
02:01but there's clearly a lack of confidence and a lack of belief there.
02:05They're not able to show their best, you know, they're not able to show their best,
02:11and that becomes difficult. That does become difficult.
02:15It seems to be difficult for Jorgen as well.
02:17You had a couple of words with him.
02:20I just said, look, stay positive and don't react now because, you know, it will hurt him.
02:25It will hurt him. He's proud.
02:26He's one of the lads that was really speaking before the game, you know,
02:29in the huddle in the changing room, and he's really passionate and spoke really well.
02:34He's trying, you know, he's trying.
02:38And I thought again, it wasn't that long ago,
02:40I thought against Aston Villa, that's what he was brilliant.
02:42He really was.
02:44Yeah, it was a difficult night tonight.
02:47So I just told him to, you know, to, yeah,
02:51I said, look, it's difficult now, I know that, but get your head down.
02:55Just fine, just check on Alec.
02:57Yeah, I can't give you anything at the moment.
02:59It didn't look good, did it?
03:00But I haven't, to be honest, I'm really sorry.
03:02I haven't got any detail on that one at the moment.
03:04I hope he's OK. He was a positive, wasn't he, as well?
03:07Just add one more on Marshall as well.
03:11Yeah, his calf, so it's weeks.
03:17It'll be weeks.
03:18Don't know how many at the moment, but I think at the moment,
03:21it's looking at at least six weeks, I think.
03:24Robert, in your previous three games,
03:26I think the one positive has been that you've been harder to score against.
03:28Yeah.
03:29Can you put your finger on why you kind of took a step back in that regard?
03:32Yeah, I think, well, the first one was obviously a clear sort of error.
03:36The second one, again, was when JJ got injured,
03:41so it was a really good moment for us on the attack,
03:43and then we lose it, that fast transition.
03:45We got things wrong, we didn't track the run of Dallo,
03:47we just didn't get our organisation right in that fast transition,
03:53that moment for the second goal.
03:55I'd have to look back at positioning of everyone and Sam as well,
03:59because it didn't, you know, the whole sort of unit then didn't look that cohesive.
04:02And then the third one, again, I think we won it, lost it, won it, lost it,
04:06about five times into the pitch.
04:08I think Agba thought the ref had blown the whistle,
04:10because he sort of stopped when we won the ball back at one point,
04:13when there was a bit of a scramble almost in front of, you know,
04:17the dugout area where I was.
04:19And we just, we gave it back about three times in that moment,
04:22and we looked like we got ourselves organised again,
04:24and it was far too easy for the cross and Mount to run between the space in that moment.
04:29So, really easy, poor goals and avoidable goals those first three.
04:34You went round the ground at the end, from where we were,
04:37it looked like you got a mixed reaction as well from the fans.
04:41Was that accurate?
04:42What did you make of it?
04:44No, I just applaud the fans and obviously showed my appreciation
04:48on how difficult it is for them at the moment.
04:50Although I said I'll always do that.
04:53It's been a long time since the club has won,
04:56so again, if I was a supporter at the moment,
04:58I'd be feeling very frustrated as well.
05:01Are you concerned when you see more of you like that,
05:04that there's maybe 23 games to go,
05:06maybe six months, something like that, if the performances don't improve?
05:10I don't know, Adam, I hope not, and we've got to try and improve,
05:13we've got to try and find that belief.
05:15I understand it's a really difficult moment at this present time.
05:22Right now when emotions are high, I've come out and try and almost be bullish,
05:27but at the same time I'm hurting as well because it was a difficult night.
05:32We stood there, then when you're 3-1 down,
05:34there's a decent amount of the game to go.
05:36You're sort of thinking, right, we want to try and show you something
05:38to get back in the game here, but we want to get opened up even more.
05:41United's strength is obviously that counter-attack and speed of how quickly
05:45they can go and hurt you, which they showed a few times.
05:47So, yeah, tough night.
05:50I'm only thinking about that right now, not the next six months.
05:54Just to follow up on what Steve said,
05:56you mentioned the players, you were asking whether they were scared against Forrest.
06:00It didn't seem like that tonight, but they seemed really open and chaotic.
06:04I was just wondering if you said it was just mistakes,
06:06was it a product of you trying to be playing more?
06:09We wanted to be more aggressive.
06:11We wanted to show that side of ourselves.
06:15With United's shape, it felt like it could be a little bit more of a man-for-man game
06:18where we could try and be more aggressive.
06:20I feel like the last 15 minutes was how I wanted the game to look.
06:24I felt that we pressed them well, they gave it us back
06:26and we were able to take more of the ball and we created some chances.
06:30Yeah, then it was too open on the turnover for a couple of moments,
06:34but that wasn't anything actually to do.
06:36I've watched them back a few times there, goals one, two and three.
06:40That was nothing really to do with being more open.
06:45That was just poor playing.
06:48We were actually poor in the running and decision-making on the transitions.
06:51Once the game got like that, then I feel like there was a little bit of hesitancy in the lads.
06:56Do I go, do I not?
06:58Then there was a few moments there where United could smell blood
07:01and then they could start finding some spaces
07:02and it would look more disorganised than it probably should have done.
07:04I think that was because of the state of the game.
07:06I'll repeat myself, I think the first three goals were gifted
07:11and that's then led to it probably looking more disorganised than it should.
07:15Rob, how important is it that you can get to the January window
07:18with a chance of doing something?
07:20Obviously, if you're really a drift, it's probably the last part of it.
07:23It could be difficult, but we'll still need to do stuff.
07:26So, we'll see what situation we're in.
07:28We've got some really difficult games coming up as well,
07:30so my focus just has to be back onto that as well.
07:35But, yeah, if we could pick up some points and get ourselves a couple of games away,
07:42then that might give us a little bit of hope with what we could do.
07:45But, yeah, we need to do some work either way.
07:50Thank you, guys.
