00:00Thank you guys so much for coming.
00:14Mikel is not far behind, so we'll try and sit to one or two per person, if that's all right.
00:19We'll kick off with Alex in the middle.
00:21Hi, Gabby.
00:22Hello.
00:23You must be looking forward to this match, having scored in all the Champions League games so far this season.
00:27Yeah, I mean, it's Champions League, you know, so we are looking forward to the game tomorrow.
00:35And yeah, as you said, I've been doing quite well in the last game.
00:41So yeah, we are ready for the game.
00:44We are here to win the game as well.
00:57Yeah, I mean, we play in a big club.
01:05I trust myself.
01:06I trust my teammates.
01:08We know the quality that we have.
01:11We have an amazing manager as well, so we know what to do in the games.
01:16So we just try to be calm and win game by game.
01:21Tom.
01:22Hi, Gabby.
01:22Just quickly on the fallout from the weekend, obviously a very tough result against Villa.
01:27How have the team used the energy from that defeat to kind of take that going forwards?
01:32Yeah, of course, we were disappointed with the result.
01:37We didn't want to lose, of course.
01:38But what happened, I think we were 18 games, if I'm not mistaken, unbeaten.
01:46So yeah, of course, frustrated with the result.
01:50We'll have to keep going.
01:52As I said before, we know the quality that we have.
01:55And tomorrow we have another big one, so we go for it.
01:58And as Alex mentioned, you've been doing really well in the Champions League.
02:01You score in that game, you'll make history about becoming the first Arsenal player to score five Champions League games in a row.
02:07So what is it about the Champions League and how it differs to the Premier League that you feel gives you that maybe extra freedom space to play your best game?
02:15Yeah, I mean, it's really nice to play in the Champions League.
02:21Same in the Premier League.
02:22I think in the Champions League, sometimes it's a bit more open, the game, and everyone just wants to attack and have loads of space sometimes.
02:32As in the Premier League, sometimes some teams are just, as some people say, park the bus, and it's a bit more tricky to score and to have more space.
02:43So yeah, I mean, I'm really happy with the goals, helping the team, and I hope to keep going.
02:49Ed?
02:50Hi, Gabi.
02:51There's a lot of competition for places up front for Arsenal in the attacking positions.
02:56Has that helped your game this season, giving you an extra incentive to try and get more time on the pitch?
03:02Yeah, of course.
03:03I want to play alongside the best ones, here in the national team.
03:09I've said that before.
03:11It's always good to go to the national team and play with Vinny, Rafinha, Rodrigo, those players.
03:17And here at the club as well, with Ebs, B, Jesus, Noni.
03:22So it's always good.
03:23We can't complain.
03:24So it's good for us.
03:26Esan?
03:27Hi, Gabi.
03:27What do you make of this tag of being a finisher, as in coming off the bench and having an impact on the match,
03:33and the difference between doing that and obviously being a starter?
03:35How have you adapted to that?
03:37I mean, of course, I want to play every game, 90 minutes.
03:41But I'm here to help the team.
03:44I want to win titles with this football club.
03:47I want to help.
03:49Even if I play five minutes, I'm going to go there on the pitch and try my best,
03:52and try to win, to score, to help the team as much as I can.
03:58Charlie?
03:59Gabi, in terms of the game tomorrow, how important would it be for the team to get the win,
04:05which would pretty much secure sort of a top eight?
04:09I mean, if you finish in the top eight, you're going to avoid a playoff round in February.
04:12But to do so and qualify and have two sort of dead games in January would be one hell of an achievement, wouldn't it?
04:20Yeah, of course.
04:21That would be really good for us.
04:24And to give us more confidence to show what we are doing, we are doing really well.
04:31And hope we can win tomorrow to secure that.
04:35Going back to Villa, you've not had many disappointing results this season.
04:38I was just wondering, did the players sort of have a separate meeting about it on Sunday?
04:43Or was it very much when you left the ground, that was it?
04:46Or did you chat about it?
04:47You mean about the last game?
04:49Yeah.
04:50Yeah, I mean, as I said, we were 18 games unbeaten.
04:54And, of course, we lost the game.
04:57We got frustrated because we want to win all of them.
05:00But it's not like everything is going wrong when we lose the game.
05:05So, we just try to stick together and to prepare really well for this game tomorrow.
05:14Last two, Sam and then Nick.
05:17Hi, Gabi.
05:17We've seen that Gabriel Jesus is back in the Champions League squad.
05:21Obviously, he's coming back to fitness after a long injury.
05:24Can you just explain, as his teammate, how important he can be,
05:28what he does for you as another attacking player on the pitch,
05:30and how big it is to have him back?
05:32Yeah, it's really good.
05:34I love him.
05:36I always say that he's one of the best strikers in the world for me.
05:40So, I'm really happy to have him back, not just on the pitch,
05:44but outside the pitch as well.
05:46Because normally, when you're injured,
05:47you don't spend as much time with the team as if you are there.
05:52So, it's really good to have him back.
05:54And playing with him as well is really good.
05:57He loves to link up as well, to move and to rotate.
06:01So, yeah, I just hope he can have some minutes in the next games
06:06and to show his talent again.
06:08And Nick at the back.
06:09Hi, Gabi.
06:10It's been a long time without little Gabi, Gabi Jesus.
06:13What's it like being emotionally to be without him
06:15and now have him back in terms of a boost to the whole squad?
06:18Yeah, of course.
06:19As I said, he's so experienced.
06:22He's played so many games for City, for us, in the national team.
06:27So, he's still young.
06:29I always say that to him because I watch him since I was, I don't know, 14, 13,
06:36when he was at Palmeiras in Brazil because he was 16 playing for the first team.
06:42So, I always say to him that he looks older for me because I always saw him when I was 13, 14.
06:49But, as I said, it's really good to have him back.
06:53And I'm really happy.
06:55And, as I said before, I hope he plays in the next games a little bit
06:59just to show his talent again.
07:01We'll end it there.
07:02Thank you guys so much.
07:06Thank you, guys.
07:07See you later.
07:09See you.
07:42Good evening, everyone.
07:56Hope everyone's well.
07:58We're ready to go.
07:59We'll kick off with Alex from the BBC.
08:02Hello.
08:02A couple of days since the first loss in the 18 games on Saturday,
08:06how have the team reacted in the first season?
08:09Yeah, it was strange because we didn't lose that many.
08:14But it's, I think, a moment as well to reflect and have some perspective about what we are doing.
08:20And, first of all, when you look at the reaction of the players when they are on the floor and the pain
08:27and what I felt in that moment seeing them because I know how much they put in and how much they want it.
08:34It is difficult, but, as well, it is a reflection of who we are and what we want to get.
08:39And this has to help us to be a better team, to learn the lesson, to value what we are doing, first of all, as well.
08:46Because with all the difficulties that we have from the start of the season,
08:49where we are in the position where we are both in the Champions League and the Premier League,
08:53is where we want to be and understand that you have to earn it every single day.
08:59And the margins are very, very small.
09:02Sometimes it can not be ideal to have a game so close because of recovery and injuries,
09:07but in this case, is it a good thing so you can get back to winning ways?
09:11Absolutely.
09:12And especially when you play a competition like the Champions League
09:14and how much we want to continue to do with the job that we have started in the first five games.
09:20And tomorrow we are going to have a really tough match against an opponent here
09:23that especially at home has been very, very good.
09:27They have a new manager.
09:28A new manager always brings new energy, new ideas.
09:32So we have prepared for that as well.
09:34And tomorrow we have to show again that we are right at the top
09:37and be better at the top and everything that we are trying to bring together.
09:41But sometimes as well we need some things to go on our side.
09:45When you have looked into it, what are the main takeaways that you've got from your findings
09:48from that last season in terms of the amount of injuries?
09:52Because it's not only one season.
09:54It's as well some of the players that they have played over 150 games in two seasons.
09:59So it starts to get overloaded and you start to ask them again and again and again
10:03to do that at some points they will bring downs.
10:06And I know this because as well the moment that you have an injury,
10:11you are more likely to have another injury, especially long-term injuries.
10:14And that's been a consequence in some of the players as well.
10:17So we are on it.
10:18Okay, we'll do the last two.
10:19Phil at the back from PA.
10:20Sorry, Mikel, one more on the injuries.
10:23There's been a suggestion that it's because the players are being over-trained.
10:26I know you were sort of asked that earlier, but you just refute that.
10:29You don't believe that that's the case?
10:31No, because we don't train.
10:33I mean, today we've done 20 minutes.
10:35So surely it's not because we over-trained the players.
10:37Just one on Victor as well.
10:40He's been on the bench for the past three games.
10:43Is tomorrow a good opportunity for him to start, do you think, and maybe get a goal?
10:47Yeah, we have to continue to manage his minutes.
10:50He played 45 minutes the other day and let's see how everybody is tomorrow
10:54and make that decision.
10:56Okay, finally to Nick.
10:57Shout out, Nick.
10:57Just a quick one on Declan Rice.
10:59You said the other week it's quite hard to have you resting.
11:02And now he's a bit unwell.
11:04Is that a chance to sort of say just go away for a few days, get some sunshine?
11:08Well, I think he needed more a bet than sunshine because he wasn't feeling good at all.
11:14So, yeah, he will have a couple of days to rest and to get his body right.
11:19But today already he was very keen to be able to play
11:23and unfortunately he's not able to do that.
11:25Okay, good night.
