00:30We were looking at all the young actresses up and coming, and Kate's name kept coming up.
00:34No, you really need to meet her. I thought, all right, I'll meet her, right?
00:37We set up truly an old-fashioned screen test.
00:41And when I say old-fashioned, we found a period set, and we put them in costume.
00:45Rose. Rose DeWitt Vicator.
00:47And coming out of that, there was no question in our mind that Kate Winslet was the right person to play Rose.
00:54We had our Rose, we had to find our Jack.
00:56Leo went in and just knocked it out of the park.
01:01I saw that in the Nickelodeon once, and I always wanted to do it.
01:04The moment I said action, and he turned into Jack, and my jaw hit the floor, Kate's jaw hit the floor, and all of a sudden, there was our Jack.
01:11To make each day count.
01:13Well said, Jack.
01:15To making it count.
01:16Once I started working with Leo, we were able to kind of find our own rhythm.
01:22He had this effervescent energy that was really magnetic.
01:26And I remember thinking, oh, this is going to be fun.
01:28We're definitely going to get along.
01:29And we just really did.
01:30People see that together, and they feel that love again.
01:33Open your eyes.
01:34People associate Titanic with a great love story.
01:37I'm flying.
01:39Jack.
01:39I think the reason Titanic has stood the test of time, Jim wrote a story that itself is timeless.
01:46The issues that it deals with, the cross-class love story, it's still relevant today.
01:50I've got ten bucks in my pocket.
01:52I have nothing to offer you, and I know that.
01:54I believe in the theatrical experience.
01:56I believe that there's something that happens in the theater, and you're sitting in that dark room.
02:00Time just goes away.
02:01I think you are drawn into these characters.
02:03You are drawn into the jeopardy.
02:05And I think people owe it to themselves to see it on the big screen.
02:08It's all more alive and more present.
02:10Listen to me.
02:11I've got you.
02:11I won't let go.
02:14Oh, God.
02:15Hold on.
02:17I'll never let go.
