Senator Chuck Schumer blasted Republicans over healthcare, declaring they “have no plan” to replace the Affordable Care Act. He pointed to remarks by GOP Leader John Thune criticizing Obamacare, arguing Republicans attack the law without offering a viable alternative. Schumer said the GOP’s failure to present a comprehensive healthcare plan exposes a “dangerous gap” in their approach to national health policy.

00:01On health care, well, we're at the start of an extremely important week for Donald Trump
00:05and for Republicans when it comes to our nation's health care crisis.
00:10On Thursday, the Senate will vote on Democrats' bill for a clean, three-year extension of
00:15the ACA premium tax credits.
00:18The question Republicans face this week is very simple.
00:21Will they support our bill and lower people's premiums, or will they block our bill and
00:25send premiums through the roof?
00:29That's what's at stake on the vote this Thursday.
00:32Leader Thune just gave a speech blasting ACA.
00:36But Leader Thune, you blast ACA, well, where's the Republican plan?
00:41Republicans have no plan.
00:43They are so divided between themselves, they can't even put a plan together.
00:48We Democrats do have a plan, and it's this bill for a clean, three-year extension.
00:54This is the only way to solve this problem now, before premiums go way up and in January,
01:02people are faced with such high bills.
01:05It's preventing costs from going.
01:07Our bill prevents costs from going up right now.
01:11Here is the reality.
01:13Most Americans want to see these credits extended.
01:17Leader Thune blasts the ACA, but has no plan.
01:21And amazingly, he has no plan when 55% of Trump voters, of MAGA voters, want to see the credits
01:33extended.
01:34So, I urge my Republican colleagues not to follow Leader Thune.
01:42You have one chance, Republican colleagues, to get this right.
01:47But left to their own devices, Republicans don't have a snowball's chance in hell of fixing
01:53this crisis, because they're so divided.
02:00Even the plans they claim are reasonable can't move forward, because one half of the Republicans
02:05want one thing, a third of the Republicans want another thing, a sixth of the Republicans
02:09want a third thing, and they can't agree.
02:14The contrast is stark.
02:17Republicans are divided.
02:19Democrats are united.
02:20We want to extend these credits, it's the right thing to do for the American people as
02:25they stand on the edge of the cliff.
02:27And meanwhile, one of the biggest failures on leadership on healthcare has been Donald
02:32Trump.
02:34As our country faces a crisis that will touch the lives of millions of people, he's sitting
02:39on the sidelines.
02:41For months, we've urged him to meet with us, to talk with us, to come to an agreement
02:45on fixing ACA premiums.
02:48Instead, he's isolated himself in the White House, blasted the ACA on Truth Social while
02:53doing nothing, nothing to prevent this from happening, doing nothing to present a real
03:00plan.
03:02Republicans are nowhere on healthcare and the clock is ticking.
03:06Americans' livelihoods are at stake.
03:08Our healthcare system is at stake.
03:10The future of our hospitals, many of which will be overrun when people lose insurance,
03:14is also at stake.
03:16Republicans who claim to worry about healthcare costs have one last chance to act, and that
03:21is to join Democrats in supporting our bill for a clean three-year extension.
