01:32Now today we're in Ohio where the top 8 drivers will battle it out once again.

01:54We are here at Dragway 42, located in West Salem, Ohio.
02:00This is our first time here.
02:02It is a very beautiful facility.
02:03This track opened its doors in 1957 and it is just an hour south of Cleveland.
02:09We're a lot closer to sea level, which is a huge change after spending a few weeks in the mountains and even in Vegas.
02:15It's also cooler than the temperatures we've been dealing with.
02:18Lower elevation and cooler temps means the engines can breathe easier and produce more horsepower.
02:23Every driver will have to make big adjustments to what they've been doing.
02:26Right now, Kai Kelly is still sitting number one in points, but last week he went out in the very first round, which means he gained no points whatsoever,
02:35which allowed other drivers to make up some ground.
02:38Here's how it works.
02:39If you win the grade 8, you get 10 points.
02:41Plus, you also get $10,000.
02:44If you runner-up, you get 7, and if you make it to the semifinals, you will get 3.
02:48Those points go towards an individual championship that will be worth $100,000 at the end of the season.

05:40I've never even raced Nate, so honestly, I'm kind of excited to see where we stack up against
05:45each other because we're so close in points, so it should be a pretty even matchup as long
05:49as both cars make the trip.

16:21you can hear a knocking noise.
16:23So we switch the gear.
16:24Usually when that happens, the housing's bent.
16:27So in Colorado, we had added compression to the engine,
16:30changed the stator.
16:31So we just ran the same stuff in Vegas.
16:34Coming here, the air is a lot better.
16:36So we're going back to our old setup.
16:38And for some reason, the car keeps knocking the rear gear out every race.
16:41This axle should just slide right out.
16:43So that's usually a sign something's binding up.

23:01in the race anymore murder nova ended up taking him out in the first round again
23:07my gosh are you kai kelly's kryptonite that is the question i don't think i'm anybody's kryptonite
23:13i don't know we took a shot at it and it paid off well yeah it sure did you put kai kelly on the
23:18trailer again so that means with kai kelly the points leader not being in this race right now
23:23this is a chance for everybody else to make up some ground all right so take advantage of that

24:39finals he struggled a little bit at first now he's really come up he's doing incredibly well it's going
24:44to be a hell of a run i have a lot of respect for him i love sean but we're going to try and do our
24:49best to to beat him like we're going to go on to the next round it's our turn to take one and come
24:53up in points i mean just to be real if we get past sean this might be our night what land did we get

29:42i feel like what you feel like track is going to be killer at this point she does very well

30:22over in the left lane that is going to be lizzie musy lizzie musy going up against kayla morton

31:22versus lizzie musy for 10 000 pounds after my burnout backing up i hear the car it's like it's
31:31just off knocking a little bit and my dad's like it's a rock arm loose and i was like i know i hear
31:36it i hear it he's like just just run it just run it i'm like okay all right it's either gonna not make
31:41it all the way or it's gonna make it just right at the finish line so uh as i'm getting ready to stage
31:46the light turns green let go of the button car is trucking down i'm like oh my god it's gonna freaking
31:50make it let's do this you know and all of a sudden right before the finish line this freaking big ass
31:54ball plane sends my hood scoop up into orbit like not a good situation um yeah i end up i couldn't see
32:02the scoreboard honestly but like after like the whole explosion thing i got sidetracked of that
32:07kayla she was like right next to me she was kind of close coming in
32:10i think she got a little loose on that run but uh i didn't know if i won or not to be honest with
32:17you my guys had to tell me on top m like holy okay let's go i heard it i was like that i know
32:23that's mean that ain't hurt it sounds so bad i'm surprised it made it that far me too i said we're home
32:30i thought it was gonna make it right after the finish line but it did it without the rocker arm being
32:35in place it'll be all out of sync so it definitely throws the motor off and yeah timing everything

33:04uh first and foremost lizzie musy you find yourself here in the finals for ten thousand dollars and
33:11it's your first grade eight finals of the season so great job there uh but i have bad news you're
33:18going up against murder nova who is trying to make it two in a row for grade eight wins as you know he
33:25won last week in las vegas grade eight finals ten thousand dollars we're gonna flip a coin for lane
33:31choice are you gonna let lizzie call it absolutely okay it's only the right thing to do lizzie call
33:36it in the air heads heads is the call it is heads actually change it up look at that lizzie it is your
33:43lane uh left lane left lane is the call good luck y'all go ahead get suited up let's go racing all right

34:00and then uh decided to protest the the height of my bender oh for real that ain't three inches well
34:08i don't have to tell you they measured it when they came and teched the car nobody measured that dude

34:18on yours dude i want to look at it i wish i'd have been involved now i'd have won that one i could
34:22have won that race i think i could have won that race oh yeah no we won and we won fair and square
34:28and we won by a lot so they found a technicality and they were trying to you know get an opportunity
34:35off of it and it didn't work because he was telling me my was too low and i was like dude yours
34:39is lower than mine see y'all got no arguing i'm sure it was lower so i won what would you have done if
34:45his big ass would grab a whole ticket he might have kicked my ass but he didn't know what his
34:50jogger to mark next day you would have gave him a fight for his money that's what i was hoping
35:00how are you uh it could be better i feel like i'm having a little rough time right now the third
35:05day it's always rough for me that's that's what we're around mallory a lot you know and she's always
35:11like she always says the third day is the day i don't want to get out of it yeah it's weird like hits me
35:15like a break train like that's what she said every run i'm like i have to go like lay down because
35:19it's bad got shawn verdanova in the finals he won the last grade eight and he's hauling ass so you
35:25know i'm a little tired but i really want to kick his ass i'm right i'm ready for anything i don't know
35:30my car was making a really killer run we looked on the race pack it looks killer so minus the fact of
35:36it you know backfiring and uh freaking big ball of fire you know we're not quite sure why do what it
35:43did it could happen when it gets cold temperatures like this we place the rocker and the push rod in
35:50that side we decided to leave the hood scoop off in case it decides to happen again in the finals the
35:55car is running good so we feel good about it hopefully we fix the issue and we're gonna go up
35:59there for the final and hopefully kick some ass trying trying the best i can yeah no you're killing
36:05it you're killing it so you're calling ass too well we'll see we'll see last time you drove out of my
36:12life so we'll see we'll see if it's any different uh we're racing lizzie unfortunately last time we
36:18raced her she drove out of my life and lizzie music gets the win wow it was really close and
36:31then she locked it up and she just started kind of pulling away man i was like oh no it was pretty
36:36humbling uh in the car i felt like we were on a pretty decent pass but wasn't the greatest air
36:43for pro chargers uh it was a little bit favorable for the nitrous stuff but lizzie's fast
36:48she goes to a lot of finals she wins a lot of races and it's just like anybody else in the grade
36:53eight we can't underestimate her she's going to go out there and pat is going to do anything he's got
36:57to do to win this race and we're going to try to do anything we can for them not to win it
37:04all right folks here we go this will be the last race of the night this is your grade eight finals
37:18over in the left lane backing up that nitrous powered camaro that is lizzie musy she is going up
37:34against none other than murder nova murder nova over in the right lane this race right here for ten
37:40thousand dollars and very important points towards that individual championship
37:54two times in the the grade eight and two wins you know the car
38:24car's rolling we have uh we've stumbled upon something you know some sort of a magic tune
38:30that that's going down and it's going down fast you know and the track is taking it two in a row dog
38:36you like an old hat at this damn damn good job good job good job car's working well motors producing
38:46all the power and we're winning races you know couldn't be happier this is this is what we strive for
38:53every time we work on the car every time we make a pass on the car every time we spend money on the
38:58car this is what we do it for uh it's been a long time since we've had this winning feeling and uh
39:04we love it you know and we're not going to sleep until we get an invitation to win
39:09so tell me about the grenade is it pretty fun man i mean good job thank you good job good job proud of

39:53was purging her car it was a really quick light i was ready for it i'm not real sure she was so i
39:59let go of the button i knew i left out before her car 60-footed like we told it to and we made a hell of
40:06a pass i could see her for a little bit and then all of a sudden she fell back and we took the wind light
40:11yeah i got blinded by the light all right i know i don't know what's causing it but it's crazy
40:23yeah i know yeah i'll leave that up to them good job sean your crew's a class act okay
40:32at the end of the night sean was able to win yet another great eight event that is two in a row
40:38plus he took out kai kelly in round one which made it so where he could not extend his leap
40:44that landed him fourth on the leaderboard and there's plenty of races left for him to catch up

40:54this is the great eight sean you've won two great eights in a row man kai's been struggling a little
41:01bit on fridays he's gonna struggle we need to capitalize on it we actually broke the transmission so we have
41:07an hour to put a new transmission in the car i think we can change the tranny in an hour i just
41:11got to worry about murder novo on his little killing spree he's doing because he keeps winning every
41:15weekend he's gonna catch at this point we have to get points every grade eight if we're gonna catch kai
