00:00Illawarra Mercury is celebrating its 170th year of publication this year, which is very
00:04exciting for us, a significant year where we wanted to cement our partnership with the
00:10Illawarra Hawks and with the University of Wollongong.
00:13We're also looking for a charity partner for this year, and we couldn't think of anything
00:17better than the Yerbrey Lab at the University of Wollongong.
00:21The story of a former hawk, Justin Yerbrey, is a truly Wollongong story.
00:26There's legacies living on with the work being done over there by scientists, but research
00:31costs money.
00:32So on Thursday night at the game, we'll be appealing to Hawks fans to put their hand in their pocket
00:37and make a donation, however big or small, to the Yerbrey Lab.
00:41And also beyond the stadium, also our readers and everyone in Wollongong, if you're looking
00:45for a gift at Christmas time to make that's really meaningful, it is really worth considering
00:51because the work going on there, even though it's quiet and it's in the background, it
00:55has the potential to change the lives of people suffering from MND all over the world.
