00:00Selena Gomez felt violated during her Disney days and almost quit show business entirely.

00:06Hey guys, it's Ali with your most necessary story of the day.

00:09And I've been a straight up Selena fan since the Barney days,

00:13so it's weird to think Selena's time with childhood stardom was not as great for her as it was for me.

00:18Quickly first though, Floyd Money Mayweather sat down with Diego from Awkward Puppets

00:22and the most famous boxer in the world has barely even heard of our queen.

00:27Who's your favorite Selena Gomez song? Give me that at least.

00:31He literally might be the only one left.

00:34Selena of course just graced the cover of Time magazine,

00:37but she hasn't always been so at ease with her ever-growing super stardom.

00:41Sel talked to Business of Fashion about the moment fame turned on her.

00:45I remember just feeling really violated when I was younger, even being on the beach.

00:49I was maybe 15 or 16 and people were taking pictures.

00:52I don't think anyone really knew who I was, but I felt very violated and I didn't understand it

00:58and that felt very weird.

00:59Selena, who is now 25, apparently hated her teen fame.

01:03I think it changed when I started getting known for things that weren't related to my work.

01:07That's when the passion started to really feel like it was going further and further away

01:11and that scared me.

01:12I think we can interpret that as her hating the media circus that grew louder and louder

01:17around her personal life and turbulent relationship with Justin Bieber.

01:20She went on to say,

01:22I realized that, oh, this is actually really hard and kind of slimy in certain areas

01:26and I didn't realize that certain people wanted certain things from me.

01:30Sel said during the last season of Wizards when she was 18,

01:33she felt like she was outgrowing it, adding,

01:35I wanted something different and obviously I fell in love for the first time.

01:39There was all this stuff that was happening and I didn't know what to do.

01:42Selena says she really asked herself at this point if she wanted to do any of this anymore

01:46and then took time off in 2012 to get herself together.

01:50Thankfully, we know she decided to keep going and cites her fans as her inspiration.

01:55And as of today, she says as long as she's happy and healthy, she is all about it.
