00:00Awkward because Miss Kaylee gets, like, mad at Miss Glow.
00:03If her foot is broken...
00:05I didn't have a broken foot for a month.
00:06Good for you.
00:07Gina, this week, you're learning Audrey solo like an understudy.
00:11Entry number 72, the prayer. That's Gina.
00:13I think Gina is an amazing lyrical dancer,
00:16but she lost it in her performance.
00:18It hurts pretty bad.
00:20Smiley, I'm not gonna have you dance this week
00:22and risk further injury.
00:24Audrey, I'm a little concerned that you're about to go into high school.
00:27With high school, we hit this fork in the road,
00:29and I've seen so many kids go by the wayside.
00:32It feels like it's like all of me.
00:33My husband and I separated.
00:35She doesn't let her dad right now.
00:37I just want my mom to feel the same love
00:39that she gives out into the world.
00:42You're going to be doing a beautiful, graceful lyrical dance
00:45called The Prayer.
00:47It's about exploring Audrey's search for faith.
00:50And that means first was entry number 74, the prayer.
00:53I'm so proud of her.
00:55I just hope that she continues to push through.
00:59Wait, Audrey.
01:08Ooh, I like it, I like it.
01:11Yeah.
01:11Good morning.
01:12Good morning.
01:14Good morning.
01:14James.
01:14Ha-ha.
01:15That's really sad yesterday,
01:19because since I don't wear my engagement ring anymore,
01:21I'm just wearing a bunch of, like, statement rings.
01:23So I just bought a bunch of stuff.
01:25That's, like, one of my fears, too.
01:27I'm like, how weird would it be to not have my ring?
01:30Hey, everyone.
01:31We ready?
01:32Let's go.
01:33Let's roll.
01:33I think Tammy has been struggling a lot with not just Audrey,
01:38but just everything that has come along with the divorce.
01:41I know that things were rough over the weekend,
01:44but I think that being here is the best place for her.
01:47We beat Studio L!
01:52You guys danced so well.
01:54We were up against way tougher competition.
01:57We had a studio there specifically who came to beat us,
02:02and you were flawless,
02:04but we know what comes next.
02:09So on the bottom row,
02:13Smiley, simply put, you didn't dance,
02:16so there's nothing really to judge you on.
02:18That's why you're there.
02:19I did get a call from the doctor this morning.
02:21He said that it's, like, not possible for it to hurt more
02:23or, like, get injured more, so he said I can't dance on it.
02:26He said nothing too abrupt.
02:27Obviously, like, no jump splits.
02:29So it's on you,
02:30but I want you to be honest with me
02:32and honest with yourself
02:33because it's not worth one dance
02:35for you to make it worse, okay?
02:38Next on the bottom row.
02:44Ashlyn.
02:45What?
02:46Ashlyn, the reason you're there
02:48is because your turns were off.
02:50You put your heel down on the pirouette,
02:52and then it made you wobbly,
02:53so it drew my attention.
02:56Next.
03:01Bellatrix.
03:02You're probably one of the most technically sound dancers
03:06on this team,
03:07but I also want to be able to trust you
03:10with the lead of a dance,
03:11and right now, I can't.
03:13Last on the bottom row,
03:17Lily.
03:18Lily, you wanted a solo bad,
03:20all you talked about,
03:21and you went out there and forgot the choreography.
03:22And on the second row.
03:29Gina.
03:30Gina, you worked harder
03:31than I've seen you work in a very long time,
03:34but you need to be able to connect
03:35with the dance emotionally.
03:37I don't see the improvement in you
03:41that I've seen in other people.
03:42Next.
03:46Layla.
03:47I think you're killing it this year.
03:49I want to see you back on top of that pyramid.
03:52And last on the second row.
03:57Mia.
03:57You were spectacular in the group dance.
04:00You led that group to that victory.
04:02Audrey, and my dear,
04:03you were feeling yourself
04:04in all those diamonds, right?
04:07And on the top row.
04:11Audrey.
04:15It was the best I've seen you dance
04:17probably since you were
04:19maybe five or six years old.
04:20Like, you were totally immersed
04:22in that story.
04:24And you could tell that it meant
04:26something super personal to you.
04:28Last week, Audrey danced
04:29at an emotional level
04:31that I have never seen before.
04:33And I think it really inspired the girls.
04:36Which is good,
04:37because the girls seem to really
04:38emotionally connect to the story this week
04:40to even have a chance of winning.
04:42Well, I have a plan for that this week,
04:44and I think it's really going to help
04:46everyone get along and really bond.
04:48Okay, no fighting.
04:50Right, me, no fighting.
04:52Yes, yes.
04:53I want everyone on this team
04:55to have those breakout moments.
04:58So this week, our group dance
04:59is going to be about the elderly
05:01and how great it would feel
05:03for them to be in their young bodies again.
05:05And I want you to use
05:07your grandparents as inspiration.
05:08Because we saw last week with Audrey
05:11what a very personal story can do
05:13to elevate our performance,
05:15I want you to go talk to your moms
05:16about your grandparents,
05:17and then I want you to come back
05:19and share a story that's meaningful to you.
05:21The three best storytellers
05:23will be the three leads of the dance.
05:25You all have ten minutes starting now.
05:28Go.
05:30Ten minutes.
05:32Mama America.
05:33Ding, ding.
05:33Uh-huh.
05:34So I get emotional because, like,
05:38I always say she's my precious gem.
05:39We could talk about grandpapa
05:41because his life is a story of hard work
05:45and perseverance.
05:47I want it to be emotional.
05:48If it's funny, I'm not going to get the lead.
05:50I want to talk about my grandpa.
05:52I want the kids to have a really personal connection
05:56to this story
05:57because all of us have history within our family
06:00that it could be good or bad,
06:02but it's there and it's ours.
06:04And I want them to be able to find that
06:06and connect to it.
06:08My dad was born in the South
06:09in the early 30s,
06:11and he was racist,
06:13and he didn't approve of my relationship
06:14with Kaylee's father.
06:16He didn't speak to me for eight years because of it.
06:18He did come around,
06:19but he didn't meet Kaylee until she was three,
06:22and he passed about eight months after he met her.
06:26I can't blame him for the way he was raised,
06:29but at the same time,
06:31I saw things differently,
06:32and I made my own opinions and choices in life.
06:38Okay, how are we doing?
06:39Good?
06:40Ashlyn, you get to go first.
06:43Come on, impress me.
06:45I'm going to try not to cry
06:46because I don't want to be called a crybaby anymore,
06:48but I'm going to be talking about my grandpa.
06:51When he was 19, he had to go to war.
06:53There was, like, a big explosion.
06:56Since it was very loud,
06:57it blew out his ear dumps,
06:59so that's why he's hearing it.
07:01Sometimes I'll talk to him,
07:02and he, like, he won't hear me.
07:05And I remember when I was younger, like,
07:07I would go up to him and be like,
07:09can you hear me?
07:12I'm going to go.
07:13I'm going to go.
07:15This is why Glow is such a good teacher.
07:17She's really motivating the girls
07:19to personally connect with this dance.
07:22And this is why we put up with all the crap
07:23for days like today.
07:25This memory takes back to when I was a music man.
07:28There was this guy who was sitting in the back
07:31of, like, a subway cart,
07:33and he was asleep,
07:34so my grandma just started putting things in front of him,
07:36like extra hand warmers and extra hats and gloves.
07:39She does that with everyone.
07:40She always tries to make it known
07:41to no matter who it is
07:43that you're loved by everyone.
07:45And if you have nothing, like,
07:46you still have something.
07:47Little tricks?
07:58My great-grandma, her name is America,
08:01and that means America in English.
08:03And so my mom's mom, which is my grandma,
08:07she moved to America,
08:09and my mom stayed with my great-grandma in Peru.
08:13My mom told me that, like, when she was little,
08:16her grandma told her that she wouldn't stop crying
08:18for her mom because she was in the U.S.
08:20and, like, she couldn't see her.
08:22And so my great-grandma,
08:24she got a passport for my mom to see her mom.
08:27They met in Florida,
08:28and she recently came to one of my competitions.
08:31I was really happy to see her
08:32because it was one of her first times
08:34she got to see me, like, live dancing.
08:36That's awesome.
08:36Yeah, that's my story.
08:40You know, my grandma brought me
08:41so I could have a better life, right?
08:43An immigrant, Peruvian, Latina.
08:45And now seeing Bellatrix,
08:46who's able to hopefully have this dream,
08:49something that she wants,
08:51that's what you want as a parent,
08:52is you want your kids to be happy.
08:56This is about my grandpa.
08:58He's an art teacher,
08:59and my favorite part to do with him
09:02was draw.
09:04And the last time I went to his house,
09:08he was really sick,
09:09and he couldn't draw.
09:12He had cancer,
09:12and on his way to shipping hospitals,
09:15he passed away in the car.
09:18And I never got to say goodbye to him.
09:22I drove with him,
09:23and it was just so sad
09:25because I was looking forward
09:26to speaking with him.
09:28I've never seen Layla connect
09:32to a story this deeply before,
09:35and I love that my dad
09:37is kind of a part of that.
09:38Everybody sees her as being silly,
09:41and is Layla going to be silly?
09:42Is she going to be serious?
09:43What's Layla going to do?
09:45Well, she has shown everybody
09:46that she can be serious
09:47when she needs to,
09:48and when she's serious,
09:50she's good at it.
09:51Don't count her out.
09:55Hey, Gina, you're up.
09:57My person is my great-grandmother.
10:01She's, like, the reason why
10:02I, like, started dancing
10:04because I used to always go over
10:06to her house,
10:07and, like, whenever she, like,
10:09pong music,
10:10I would just, like, dance
10:11with my brother.
10:13And then so, um,
10:14what makes me, like,
10:15the saddest is that
10:16she never, ever got to see me dance.
10:19But I know she'll be able
10:20to see me dance from, like, up high.
10:24This is the exact kind of emotion
10:26that I wanted to get
10:28out of these girls.
10:29Yes, I want these girls
10:30to perform the best they can
10:32for Project X,
10:33but in order to have a career
10:35as a real working dancer,
10:37they have to be able
10:38to make the audience feel something,
10:40just like they did today.
10:41First of all, I appreciate
10:42each of you telling me your story.
10:44All of them are powerful.
10:46And I think that
10:47Mia hasn't stopped crying
10:48in the last half hour.
10:50Kaylee will be choreographing
10:52the group dance this week.
10:53I'm having Kaylee choreograph
10:54the group this week
10:55because this style
10:56is just much more
10:57in her wheelhouse.
10:58This is not just about dance steps.
11:00It's storytelling.
11:01And I know that
11:02she's good at that.
11:03I'm excited to share
11:04some of your stories
11:05through the dance.
11:10I don't know who to choose
11:11for the leads
11:12because the girls
11:13who are the best storytellers
11:15aren't necessarily
11:16the best dancers.
11:18Yeah, and the strongest dancer
11:19on the team
11:20who should be your best leader
11:21had the worst storytelling
11:23out of all of them.
11:25Audrey?
11:26Mm-hmm.
11:26It was, I assure you,
11:29way harder
11:30than I ever thought
11:31it was going to be.
11:32But we have three leads this week.
11:34And so the three leads are...
11:37Kaylee does not look happy.
11:42I'm so sorry you feel that way.
11:43I don't know what to tell you.
11:44I really don't know what to tell you.
11:45Then I can't win.
11:46Then I can't win.
11:48Listen!
11:48And now they're fighting.
11:49I'm done with the conversation.
11:51Listen.
11:52Can you and my mom talk to me?
11:54What?
11:54What?
11:55It was way harder
12:06than I ever thought
12:06it was going to be.
12:08The three leads are
12:10Gina,
12:12Layla,
12:12and Bellatrix.
12:15I'm looking for a leader
12:16and a breakthrough performance.
12:18I think that the three of you
12:20have something really powerful
12:21to pull from.
12:22And we will be doing duos.
12:26The first duo
12:28is going to Lily and Mia.
12:35And you will be competing
12:36against Ashlyn and Bellatrix.
12:42Smiley,
12:43I'm not going to push you
12:44to do too much.
12:45But you will be in the group
12:47because we plan to have
12:50all eight dancers
12:51in the group this week.
12:52However, Smiley,
12:54just in case you can't dance,
12:55I'm bringing in Karlyn.
12:57You all know Karlyn, right?
12:58She's a student here.
13:00I coincidentally went to high school
13:02with Karlyn's father.
13:04Yeah, we love Karlyn.
13:05She's a really smart,
13:06quick, talented little girl.
13:08And Karlyn will learn the dance.
13:11I have to cover all my bases,
13:13Smiley, okay?
13:13So I need to have a plan B
13:16in case we need it.
13:17You guys can go to Mom's
13:19and then everyone out.
13:20And then we will pick up
13:21with group rehearsal.
13:22Good job, everyone.
13:24Oh, you guys, she's here.
13:28Hi.
13:29Last night, Glow called me
13:31and said,
13:32well, can you clear your schedule?
13:33Because we need you.
13:34So here we are.
13:36We've actually known Glow
13:38forever, it feels like.
13:40We actually started
13:40with Studio Blue
13:41and then left
13:42and went to another studio
13:44and then came back
13:47when Project X opened.
13:49Back around again.
13:49Back around again, yep.
13:51All right, so, Karlyn,
13:53you're on standby.
13:55I'm having you learn
13:55the choreography
13:56just in case Smiley can't dance.
13:59You're going to be dressed
14:00as old people.
14:00You're going to either have
14:01gray spray or gray wigs.
14:03Everyone will have old makeup,
14:05but the three leads
14:06will have the prosthetics.
14:07This is going to be fun.
14:09Okay, we're going to start
14:09with a group section,
14:10so we're all going to be
14:11doing kind of the same thing,
14:12but there's going to be
14:12two different parts.
14:13At this point,
14:14everybody is kind of
14:15feeling young again, yeah?
14:16Because imagine, like,
14:17I think it's probably painful
14:18to be like 90 years old, right?
14:20So imagine, like, yeah,
14:21having to be like that
14:22for forever,
14:22and then you're like,
14:23oh, my God,
14:23I can sit up straight again.
14:25And we go one, two, down, up,
14:30chasse, up, step,
14:32land to the back,
14:33slide parallel,
14:35arms go out,
14:36pulling it straight in.
14:38Yes, got it?
14:39Okay.
14:40Are you ready?
14:43Seven and a go.
14:45Go and up.
14:47And chasse, five, up, six,
14:49seven, out, in.
14:50Guys, out.
14:52Don't, I don't want us
14:53to go out, okay?
14:55Down, out, in.
14:57I am not at all seeing
14:59even close to the amount
15:00of cash in we had
15:02earlier when we were talking.
15:03The only person that I kind
15:04of believed was Gina,
15:06who usually is the one
15:07that isn't performing,
15:08and right now she's outperforming
15:08every single one of you.
15:09I didn't see that
15:10from any other person
15:12in this room,
15:13not even Audrey the winner
15:14last week,
15:15who did the most performance
15:17I've ever seen in my life.
15:18And I can't bring even
15:19a little bit of that
15:20into the room right now.
15:21It almost feels like
15:22I can't believe
15:23how we were acting before
15:25because it doesn't seem
15:25like we feel it now.
15:27If we really, truly felt that way,
15:28I think we'd be dancing
15:29much bigger than we did.
15:31So don't make me think
15:32that you were just saying
15:32that to get a lead part, okay?
15:34Get some water if you need some.
15:36This is my first time
15:37choreographing a routine
15:39this season,
15:39and I'm really disappointed
15:41in Audrey that she could
15:42give a performance
15:43like she did last week,
15:44and then this is what
15:45she brings today.
15:45Like, that's not acceptable.
15:47Audrey has to understand
15:48that she can't always
15:50be the lead.
15:51I need to spread out
15:51these lead roles
15:52so that the other girls
15:53can have an opportunity
15:54to show me that they have
15:55this star potential
15:56that I know they have.
15:58And they're not gonna do that
15:59if Audrey's always the lead.
16:06This one is broken.
16:07Lily, Mia, go!
16:12This dance, it's a really serious
16:15subject matter.
16:16Oh.
16:17And it's dividing our country.
16:19It's ending relationships.
16:22It's tearing families apart
16:24because of how serious it is.
16:27You think you can handle
16:28telling that story?
16:30Your dance is about
16:32tennis versus pickleball.
16:36Oh, God.
16:37I don't really get the same.
16:42Lily, you are the tennis player.
16:44And Mia, you're all
16:45about pickleball.
16:47Yes?
16:47When you do duos,
16:48it's really hard
16:49because it's not like
16:50you can hide
16:51like you're in a group dance,
16:52but it's also not like
16:53it's a solo either
16:53where if you mess up,
16:54you can just, like,
16:55make it up on the spot.
16:56Up!
16:57And brush!
16:58You have to be doing
16:59the same thing,
17:00otherwise it looks wrong.
17:01I've never done a duo
17:02with Mia before,
17:03and she's Miss Glow's
17:04new favorite,
17:05and I don't want to give
17:06Miss Glow any reason
17:07for her to think
17:07that I'm the weak link.
17:09Turn, turn, out!
17:11Out!
17:13This week is so important
17:15for Mia
17:15because if she pulls out
17:17this one,
17:18that will be third win
17:19consecutively,
17:20and I think that really
17:21proves that,
17:22you know,
17:23she can bring it.
17:24And this is the first time
17:25she has two dances.
17:27Right, exactly.
17:30This will be the true test
17:31this week.
17:32That's true.
17:33I know Lisa's trying
17:34to do something right now,
17:35but I'm really excited
17:37for the duo with Mia
17:38this week
17:38because I'm confident
17:40I think they're gonna win.
17:41One, two, three, four,
17:43five, and six,
17:44seven, and eight, and...
17:46I think that they have
17:47the technique and the turns,
17:49and both of our basements
17:50are filled with crowns
17:51and trophies.
17:52I don't see the crowns
17:53and trophies
17:53in Ashlyn's basement
17:54or Bellatrix's.
17:55So the idea behind the duo
17:57is that you are a puppet,
17:59and Bellatrix,
18:01you are the puppet master,
18:02and I need you guys
18:03to feed off each other
18:04because that's really
18:05what this is about.
18:06I'm pumped because
18:07me and Bellatrix,
18:07we've known each other
18:08for a long time,
18:09and we've danced together
18:10before,
18:10so we know, like,
18:11how each other dance.
18:12Yeah, and we, like,
18:13we work really well together.
18:15We're besties.
18:15We're besties.
18:17Here we go.
18:18One, two, three, four,
18:19five, six, seven, eight.
18:20One, two, three, four,
18:21five, six, seven, eight.
18:22One, two, three, four,
18:23six, seven, eight.
18:24One, two, three, four,
18:25five, six, seven, eight.
18:27They have great chemistry,
18:28but they are different dancers.
18:30All right, girls.
18:31Listen, you have
18:32very different dances, yes?
18:34But you guys both
18:36have to tell a story, right?
18:38Otherwise, the dances
18:39are gonna fall flat.
18:40Mia, I wanna see you
18:42continue your winning streak,
18:44and if not,
18:44you guys better be first,
18:46and you better be second.
18:47Yes?
18:48Go out, get some water,
18:50see your moms.
18:51Ashlyn and Bellatrix
18:52grew up together
18:52in the studio,
18:53so they've been friends
18:54since they were literally babies.
18:56Lily and Mia
18:57might have the technique
18:58that you can perform
18:59because you're paying
19:00a teacher,
19:01and then Corinne's gonna be,
19:02like, rehearsing him
19:02until, like, three in the morning.
19:04Ashlyn and Bellatrix
19:05actually have rock chemistry.
19:10Hi.
19:10Hi.
19:10Hi.
19:10Hi.
19:12I remember
19:13when Jing started,
19:14she used to come in
19:15at the middle of the day, too.
19:18Oh, how the roles
19:19have changed.
19:19Here we go.
19:23Mom.
19:27Miss Bill.
19:28Can my mom talk to you?
19:29Kaylee and Bella,
19:30can you guys go out?
19:31We're just gonna talk to Miss Bill.
19:33Thanks, guys.
19:36What happened?
19:37Well, I just wanted to let you know
19:38that, um,
19:40I just think everything
19:44that I'm going through
19:45in my family,
19:47it's gotten really bad,
19:50and I just think I need
19:53to stop with the team.
19:56what?
19:58She's leaving the team?
20:02Audrey, what would make things better?
20:05I am utterly shocked
20:08that Audrey wants to cut the team.
20:10Audrey has been having
20:12a really difficult week
20:13with everything that comes
20:15with a separation.
20:16I don't want Audrey to quit,
20:18but my main focus
20:21will always be Audrey
20:23and Audrey's well-being,
20:24and so my goal this week
20:26is just to help support her.
20:28You're both going through
20:29a rough time,
20:30but at the same time,
20:32remember how you felt last week?
20:34Like, you were beaming ear to ear.
20:36You were so happy.
20:38I understand
20:38that you're struggling right now,
20:40but I also know you,
20:42and I know that you could wake up
20:44two days from now
20:45and feel completely different,
20:46and then where are you?
20:49I understand that Audrey
20:50is extra sensitive right now
20:51because of the divorce,
20:52but she can't go around
20:54failing on things
20:56because she's not
20:56the center of attention.
20:58This is a pattern with Audrey.
21:00She has to understand
21:01that her words mean something,
21:03and in the real world,
21:05you can't go around
21:05quitting things
21:06like she has with me
21:07in the past.
21:08Tammy texted saying,
21:10hi, we are not going to return
21:12due to a family emergency.
21:13I'm unsure about tomorrow
21:15or the remainder of the week.
21:17That's strange.
21:18Pull me once, shame on you.
21:20Pull me twice, shame on me.
21:22I don't want you to make a decision
21:24based on having a few bad days
21:26because once you make that decision,
21:28you can't go back.
21:30You're going to still be looking
21:31at all your friends
21:32doing what they're doing,
21:33and it's going to be hard for you,
21:35and that might make it worse.
21:36Kaylee has told us
21:42about her experience
21:43with Dance Mom Glow
21:44and how she's felt pressured.
21:46I think Kaylee resents Glow
21:48for not letting her quit dance
21:50when she wanted to,
21:51so I think this is triggering
21:52for Kaylee to watch.
21:53I think you need to stop saying it.
21:55You're going to be missing out
21:56on this, and you'll be missing out.
21:56I'm not Kaylee.
21:57She is her mother, not you.
21:59I'm talking to you.
22:00I'm Kaylee.
22:01Trust me, I am talking to her mother.
22:03This is not a good time
22:05for you guys to argue.
22:05We're not doing this.
22:06No, we're arguing.
22:07I'm being there for your child
22:08when she, like, she needs this.
22:10I know you are, but she needs this.
22:10And so is her mother.
22:11I'm not saying she's not,
22:12but she needs this.
22:13For a teacher,
22:14we don't tell her to stay.
22:16Did I tell her to stay?
22:17Never once told her to stay.
22:18So don't put words in my mouth,
22:20and we're not going to do this
22:20because this is the last thing she needs.
22:23All right.
22:23Audrey, let's go.
22:25Let's go home.
22:26I know, like, Audrey's been going through a lot,
22:28and, like, it's not just, like, this week,
22:29but, like, occasionally,
22:30I'll see her, like, crying at the studio.
22:32The team is, like, kind of just, like, a little bit...
22:34You're so brave.
22:46We love you,
22:47and we're here for everything.
22:50Don't feel bad for how you're feeling, okay?
22:52No, we're going to be okay.
22:53We're all here for you.
22:55We all support you.
22:56You're leaving today?
22:58Right now?
22:58Oh, my gosh.
23:01Why?
23:02Because Audrey's going through a lot of things right now
23:04with her and her family and school,
23:06and it's just really stressful,
23:07especially because she's, like, a teen now,
23:09and, like, there's a lot of emotions
23:10and stuff like that.
23:12You'll have to stay, Audrey.
23:13We need you.
23:14I need more chips.
23:16I need you.
23:17Audrey, we got to go, honey.
23:18Bye, Audrey.
23:19Bye, Audrey.
23:20I don't know what to do.
23:22I have only ever wanted the best for Audrey,
23:25and if she wants to quit,
23:26I have to support that,
23:27but I don't want her to regret this,
23:29and it's going to look bad for Project X.
23:32And after everything that happened with Studio Blue,
23:35if I show up to competition without my star dancer,
23:38who I basically raised,
23:40people are going to talk.
23:41This is not good.
23:42We've obviously lost our team leader.
24:01Audrey's extremely talented,
24:03and when she dances,
24:05I think you guys feed off of that.
24:06So there are three leads in this dance,
24:09and perhaps one of you can emerge as the team leader.
24:14This is your opportunity.
24:16Now it's time for everybody to step up.
24:19Now that Audrey isn't here,
24:21we're going to need both Smiley and Karlyn to dance.
24:23Thank God I brought Karlyn in as a backup this week.
24:26Let's run it.
24:27So get some chairs.
24:32Seven in.
24:35Remember first line?
24:36Five, go.
24:37Six and seven.
24:39Project X needs to win
24:41to distract from what's going on behind the scenes.
24:43Smoke and mirrors, literally.
24:45Kaylee's choreographing this dance,
24:47but this is my team and my reputation on the line.
24:50So this dance needs to be up to par
24:52with all of our other works.
24:53And out, down.
24:56Layla, get in the back.
24:59And face.
25:00Spread out.
25:01Just go on to the side.
25:03No.
25:03No.
25:06You don't seem pleased with any of it.
25:11I love working with the girls,
25:15but I do not love having my mom in the room when I'm teaching.
25:18Like, every little look she gives me,
25:20I overthink, and I think that she, like, hates everything I'm doing.
25:24It makes me feel like she doesn't trust me to get there eventually.
25:26I just wish she wasn't in the room at all, but...
25:29What is your face about?
25:31Do you, like, hate it?
25:33I mean, yeah.
25:34First of all, I feel like it's really, really, really, really short.
25:37It's not going to score well with the judges.
25:42Okay, well, do what you want to do.
25:43I don't want to keep doing things and then feel like you don't like it.
25:47Miss Glow and Miss Kaylee aren't having their best moments together.
25:54I kind of do wish that Miss Glow and Miss Kaylee just get together.
25:57Like, just start bonding.
25:58They could go get their navels done.
26:01Can I make a suggestion?
26:04We need to just do more.
26:06I don't have a problem with Kaylee's choreography.
26:08I think her choreography is beautiful.
26:10It's the fact that I don't see the story.
26:12This dance is just too short.
26:14So do the suit new.
26:17Now, you face front.
26:19I'm adding almost a minute of choreography to this dance
26:22because if we don't add the extra time, it's not going to make sense,
26:26and you're just going to see a lot of little kids
26:28who look like they're playing dress-up.
26:30So everybody try that.
26:31You go under, and then you go coupe turn,
26:36and then you pique attitude,
26:37and then just let them continue around,
26:39and everybody run to their spot.
26:41Mia, you're over there now.
26:42You can scooch it in a smidgen.
26:44Kaylee does not look happy.
26:46Yesterday, when Audrey and Tammy put the team,
26:49Kaylee said some really hurtful things to Glow,
26:51like some low blows.
26:53I think some issues surfaced
26:55that they weren't prepared to deal with,
26:57but now our girls are paying the price.
26:59Girls, I want to talk to my mom,
27:01so take a break.
27:02We'll see you tonight.
27:04I'm not going to be honest.
27:05I'm not in this mood
27:06because of how you're making me feel
27:07with your, like, reaction to seeing the dance.
27:09But you're reading a reaction
27:10into something that's not there.
27:13You didn't say anything.
27:16And so that's the reason.
27:17So when I don't say something,
27:19you take it as me saying something bad?
27:21I didn't say anything bad about your choreography.
27:24You didn't say anything about anything,
27:26except for your face to show night to night.
27:28Okay, Kaylee.
27:30I mean, I'm really stressed about, like,
27:32I don't want to be the one
27:33who loses the winning streak
27:34after you've won three in a row.
27:35And you know I'm hard on myself
27:36by my choreography.
27:38And then whether you meant
27:39to make me feel like that or not,
27:41like, I did feel like that
27:42because of your reaction.
27:43Okay, but how do I stop you
27:43from feeling a certain way
27:44when I'm not trying to make you feel that way?
27:48As a dance mom, I was hard.
27:50But that's because I knew
27:52how talented she was.
27:54So I think in Kaylee's eyes,
27:55maybe I was never satisfied.
27:57I am sorry that you think I didn't like it.
28:00I am sorry that my brain
28:01is thinking a million things at one time.
28:03So sorry you feel that way.
28:04I don't know what time.
28:05That sounds so genuine, Mom.
28:06When you have that...
28:07Then I can't win.
28:08Then I can't win.
28:09Listen, listen!
28:10When you have that tone in your voice,
28:12there is no tone.
28:15It doesn't sound like you really mean it.
28:16Okay.
28:17Once again, we just have to agree to disagree.
28:19Once again, nothing gets resolved
28:21from trying to communicate ever.
28:23It doesn't matter what I say,
28:24so I'm done with the conversation.
28:27Oh, sorry.
28:28It's okay.
28:28You're good.
28:29You're good.
28:29It's not that I need to be, like,
28:33praised all the time.
28:35But just, like, she is my mom
28:36and I care so much about what she thinks
28:38and I want her approval.
28:39I'm sure the rumors are already flying about Audrey quitting,
28:59and now, with the mess between Kaylee and me,
29:01I would have loved to have just called in sick and stayed home.
29:04But we're going to push past this drama
29:06and prove to everyone that Project X is totally fine,
29:09even if we're not.
29:13Aw.
29:14Look at this perfect duo helping each other.
29:16So last night, I barely get any sleep
29:18because I've been, like, up really late
29:20practicing my duo with Bellatrix to make it, like, perfect.
29:22And this is, like, a big deal to me
29:23because I miss that Miss Cole hasn't been calling me a star
29:26as much as she used to.
29:27I'm going to try and win
29:28and take her eyes off of other people
29:30and show her that I could be her star.
29:32Let me do your eyebrows first.
29:34Is Mia ready to compete today?
29:38Not as ready as she was last week.
29:40Let's just say that.
29:42Everybody's been telling me
29:43when you do two is a completely different story, right?
29:46So we'll see how it turns out.
29:48I think that we honestly can beat them,
29:52but it's really depending on my turns.
29:55I think your turns are good.
29:57You guys just need to make sure
29:59that you're doing it at the same time.
30:00Stand the beat and don't, like, forget about anything.
30:03But I'm already in the zone.
30:05I don't want to ruin what you have going on right now,
30:08but I really want you to remember what's at stake here.
30:10Like, literally, you have two ways to shine today.
30:13I don't think my mom understands the zone.
30:16Oh, my God, that's too much eye glue.
30:21Oh, gosh, it's singing.
30:22Hello.
30:25How we doing?
30:26We ready?
30:27Girls, I told you, I'm looking for someone
30:30who can maybe be the next lead of this team.
30:32We have a hole to fill.
30:34I know that you guys are all very talented,
30:38but we also know that Audrey's older.
30:40Audrey's been doing this longer,
30:42and Audrey's a really great asset to the team.
30:44Okay?
30:45Ms. Glow?
30:46Yes, ma'am.
30:46Since you brought up Audrey,
30:48it almost feels like she hasn't left,
30:50because Tammy is, like, still trying to figure out,
30:53like, what's going on.
30:55She went to all the details.
30:56Do you know anything about this?
30:58Has Tammy been texting me questions?
31:00Yes.
31:00No one has indicated to me that she's coming back.
31:04Yeah, I mean, Tammy definitely has FOMO.
31:07Oh, for sure.
31:07I don't blame her.
31:08Oh, there's no question.
31:09She has FOMO, but, I mean,
31:10last thing Audrey said to me
31:12is that she doesn't want to do it, that she quits.
31:15But I'm also not going to worry about it
31:16and dwell on it until I have a reason to.
31:19I want to focus on this today.
31:21Tammy and Audrey quit the team
31:22because it was too much for them,
31:23and we all supported that.
31:25So it's confusing,
31:25because she keeps texting us nonstop.
31:27It's like she doesn't want to be on the team,
31:29but she still wants to be
31:30the center of attention on the team.
31:32If you need space, take the space.
31:34We have other dances to worry about.
31:36And on that note, let's go!
31:39Let's glow!
31:40I'm, like, really nervous for the turns,
31:42and I want to show the team in this club
31:43that I can do two dances.
31:45It's just when I go on stage,
31:46I just get, like, so much more nervous,
31:49and then I, like, think in my mind,
31:51like, negative thoughts,
31:52which I have to get out.
31:54Next to the stage,
31:55please welcome entry number 100,
31:57Pickleball vs. Tennis.
31:59Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie that swing, gimmie that swing.
32:14My heart is giving you love
32:18Try not to need you so much
32:23You were the one right from the start
32:26Your eyes were saying the same
32:28But now it seems always easy to shake
32:31I'm gonna shoot you down
32:33Say don't you say I'll do what you do
32:35Don't you be my lover
32:37I'm gonna say I'll make you pay
32:40But you better run for cover
32:41Say don't you say I'll do what you do
32:44Don't you be my lover
32:46What happened to you about this?
32:48Um, yeah, I'm gonna say I'll make you pay
32:54But you better run for cover
32:55Say don't you say I'll do what you do
32:58Don't you be my lover
33:00I'm gonna say I'll make you pay
33:03But you better run for cover
33:05Woo!
33:09I really did the wrong amount of terms the first set
33:11And it wasn't Mia that I've seen in the last two competitions
33:14Mia looked scared
33:15You can't
33:19Mia, everything
33:20I should have done what she was doing
33:23And then you just did the right thing
33:25But then it made me know
33:27Like I was wrong
33:28No, it's my fault
33:29I'm the one who messed us up
33:30I'm the one who messed us up
33:31Trust in your lie
33:34Mom
33:34Don't even worry about, like, the pyramid. Everything will be fine. I've been on the bottom many times.
33:55I think you could be Lily and me, and yeah, they just have some off-timing moments.
34:00We're ready to dance, or we're gonna kill it.
34:02Next to the stage, please welcome entry number 401, Bowling Springs.
35:02We're ready to dance.
35:08We're ready to dance.
35:12Go, go!
35:14Who messed up the beginning do you know somebody did the wrong thing on the bench
35:32it was Ashlyn it was Ashlyn she started doing the kicks before the other part oh
35:40like my school gets mad about like every little thing so she's not gonna be upset I
35:44don't think it's gonna win anything it wasn't clean enough I think they just
36:07didn't have enough time to really practice but this was our main concern
36:11having a new team member was like these girls have done it before doing two
36:16dances is not easy I'm very proud of Ashlyn and Bellatrix like they worked so
36:21well together they were so excited but you messed up right at the beginning
36:26pickleball versus tennis Lily you did the wrong set of turns on the first one and
36:30I think Mia you let like that one turn affect you you can't let one mistake at
36:35the beginning of the dance mess you up you just got in your head and you've
36:41had these amazing performances and I don't know if it was learning two fully
36:45different routines but you can't let yourself get so nervous before you go
36:50out there we all should want better we should all right it's in the judges hands
36:56now girls I need you to focus on the group now we're done with duos yes okay I
37:03need you guys to come with me you have to get in here makeup is gonna take like five hours so we
37:07gotta get started
37:08glow is not happy but the girls need to shake it off miss glow spend so much time teaching the
37:14girls how to connect to this dance and with all the drama that Audrey has caused if the girls can
37:20act like old people the one acting like an old lady and dropping dead is gonna be miss glow how old am I gonna look
37:26you're gonna look 80 what I want wrinkles you don't want wrinkles forever believe me but then I'll be
37:31able to join with my mom okay
37:32I'm not gonna look I'm not gonna look I'm not gonna look I'm not touching me oh my god
37:38oh my god Layla why do you look just the same as you do every pyramid let me just say I hope the
38:05guys don't fall head over here
38:07the seniors
38:12I don't know let's go stretch over here okay can you still do the banana split
38:19we've known each other for 60 years right it's probably even more than that can you hear me
38:26what'd you say can you hear me hold up turn it up nope the other way
38:31kids are we looking at me I gave you everything that you could possibly need for this to be an
38:39amazing performance I put a lot into this my mom is trusting me with this I don't want to be let
38:45down you don't want to go offstage wishing that you had done better okay all of you have something
38:51to prove what we need to want is to know that we can go out there and we could do an incredible
38:57amazing winning performance without Audrey because you can it's been a crazy week smiley's injured
39:04Carlin came in and then Audrey just suddenly up and quits the team but I didn't choose Audrey as the star
39:11I chose the three of you now go out there and give me that breakout performance that I know you're all capable of
39:21I really hope that we can win with me being the lead I'm gonna do this answer my great-grandma my
39:38picture is actually in here so it's like she's with me while I'm dancing they're gonna be on stage
39:41with me I'm doing this dance for like my great-grandmother I just want to do super
39:45well so that um she can be happy while she's watching me from up high because I just miss her so

45:06All right dancers can you tell us what you dance?
45:09Brightest Dance Company!
45:14We got to first and a second and without Audrey
45:16I think that we see some people trying to rise to the occasion
45:23You know they see a spot
45:24And I think maybe some of them want to fill it
45:27I'm impressed, okay?
45:29Karlyn thank you for coming in
45:30Thank you for filling in
45:31You were wonderful
45:32I want to talk about the three leads
45:34I think all of you gave a great performance
45:37I think one person really, really, really gave the performance of a lifetime
45:42Gina
45:48I saw the change and the emotion and the story
45:51And you've always struggled with that, you know?
45:53And I'm really, really, really proud of you
45:58Gina, there's emotion inside of this little body
46:02I really do think that like the only reason why I like dancing so well
46:06And having so much emotion is because like I have something to connect to
46:11I really just miss my grandmom
46:15I'm glad my mom is proud of Gina
46:17But my only thought was I just really wish my mom would say she's proud of me
46:22Thank you guys for trying so hard
46:24And being vulnerable and feeling something
46:26So what's the deal with Audrey? Is she coming back?
46:29I guess we'll have to find out, won't we?
46:31All of you will be playing the part of a drag queen
46:43Good morning, Diana
46:45Hello
46:47I think we're going to read the moms, right?
46:49Mama, you think that you eat your outfits every day
46:52But the outfits actually eat you every day
46:57Is Tammy here?
46:58Does Tammy?
46:59Oh my God
47:01This is ridiculous
47:02Here we go
47:03You're both in my case
47:05You make her feel like very embarrassing
47:08This is not helping when we're right about to go on stage
47:11And then the mom's like, la la la la la
47:14This is not okay with you
