00:00Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that his country would soon advance into the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire.
00:08At a press conference following his meeting with visiting German Chancellor Friedrich Merz,
00:14Netanyahu stated that the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement has largely been completed
00:20and that the process is set to move forward to the second phase.
00:24Netanyahu also mentioned that later this month he plans to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump
00:30to discuss the progress of the second phase while reiterating Israel's stance that it will not agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
00:40For his part, Merz called for the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement,
00:45also indicating Germany's openness to the establishment of a Palestinian state
00:50while opposing any annexation of the West Bank territory by Israel.
