Liberal Ciprian Ciucu defeats hard-right candidate to become mayor of Bucharest

Ciprian Ciucu, a close ally of Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, won the mayoral election in Bucharest with around 36% of the votes, defeating hard-right contender Anca Alexandrescu, who polled at 22%.
