Matthew Beem says he called MrBeast for some advice when he went full-time as a YouTuber
Transcript
00:00Talking about Mr. Beast and how he's kind of been a great friend and mentor of mine.
00:03The day that I got this warehouse, I had 600,000 subscribers.
00:06I had just quit my job, terrified because I quit my job.
00:09I don't know how to be a professional full-time YouTuber.
00:12So I FaceTimed him, gave him a tour of my warehouse, and I was like,
00:14hey, when will I feel safe?
00:17Like, not that I'm going to lose everything tomorrow.
00:20And he kind of started laughing.
00:22I was like, why are you laughing?
00:23And he's like, maybe when you hit 50 million subscribers, but probably not.
00:26I was like, oh, okay.
00:27I was like, do you still feel like that?
00:28He said, yeah, I feel like it sometimes.
00:30But probably not.
00:30And I'm like, okay.
00:31You're smaller.
00:32You feel like you'll never make it.
00:33And once you make it, you're afraid of losing it.
00:35So what I try to do is maximize every second that I do have it.
00:38Because, you know, one day, you know, whether you retire or your channel does start going down,
00:44I know that these are going to be memories that I'm making for the rest of my life,
00:46no matter how long I do it.
00:47So far, it's been an incredible three and a half year run.
00:50I can tell you personally, if a video does bad, like my family knows that I think my career is over.
00:54And, you know, I go practice like my paint strokes so I can go back and paint cars.
00:59So...
01:00So...
01:00So...
