McLaren's Lando Norris finished third in Abu Dhabi to beat Max Verstappen to his first driver's championship

00:00I think this year we kind of don't have any. We have nothing to hide behind.

00:03We proved last year we have everything we need and everything it takes to fight at the top and be the best.

00:14He's an intriguing individual, Lando. I think he's quite quirky and he's very likeable.

00:21A lot of people think that pressure is a bad thing, but for me it's really the opposite.

00:27It's a good thing. My best performances have often come when that is around.

00:32I think Lando has proved that he is world champion material.

00:35That does not mean he's on the same level as Max Verstappen because I don't think he's there.

00:38And I don't think anyone is there on the grid compared to Max.

00:42But you don't need that sometimes in Formula One to become a world champion.

00:45McLaren have the best car and have a dominant force at the moment.

00:50I know coming into this season that for a lot of people I'm the favourite and that kind of thing.

00:55It's anybody's game really. You have to go in there, fight for everything and see what you can achieve.

01:02He says he wants to be a nice chap and still be a nice chap and win.

01:07And show that nice guys do win. So I'm always a big supporter of that approach.

01:12But I think you have to show some steely resolve which makes it clear to those you race against that you're going to be tough to beat.

01:24He's proven that he is a worthy world champion over most of this season and he has the car to do it.

01:31All he has to do is get it over the line.
