00:00Welcome to Main Event.
00:08The following contest is scheduled for
00:17one fall, introducing first, from Knoxville to the sea,
00:23representing American-made Ivy Nile.
00:31This is someone who earlier today, as we were getting ready for Main Event tonight, Byron,
00:35you tried to get a few words with, and she told you to, uh, I don't want to repeat what
00:39she said, but it wasn't very nice.
00:40What did you do to Ivy Nile?
00:42It was a bad judgment call for me.
00:44Ivy Nile looked the same way backstage she looks now, which is perturbed and disturbed.
00:49Well, you can hear from the WWE Universe tonight just what they think of Ivy Nile.
01:01Don't you sing along, Vic.
01:02Don't you dare sing along.
01:04I almost...
01:05I saw your lips going there.
01:06I almost did.
01:07Of course, Blake Howard, not with you this week.
01:10I am Vic Joseph alongside Byron Saxton, and Byron, we've moved into the month of December.
01:16Only a few more weeks left this year.
01:18Isn't it amazing right now, if you're a WWE superstar and you're watching the days tick
01:23away as we inch towards 2026, you're thinking, how can I finish this year as strong as humanly
01:28possible?
01:29That's a great point, because before we know it, it will be the Royal Rumble, and then we
01:32will be on the road to WrestleMania.
01:35Isn't that wild?
01:36Every year.
01:37It goes just by like that, Byron.
01:38Just like that.
01:39And this is a woman who really did have a big year.
01:42We'll hear more on that in just a moment.
01:44I will never help me now.
01:48You won't watch me, Paul.
01:50I suggest you never tell me all I know.
01:55From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
01:59Thea, Thea, Thea, Thea!
02:03Vic.
02:04Can I get a Hail Yeah.
02:06Hail Yeah.
02:07That was horrible.
02:08I think I'm the one who coined that on NXT.
02:10Of course, I'm very familiar with Thea Hail, a superstar who is getting the opportunity here
02:15tonight.
02:16Someone who might need to actually think about the decaf in the morning.
02:20I don't think so at all.
02:21You like that, I mean, as you like that.
02:23Energy level, the rambunctious nature, that's what makes Thea Hale who she is.
02:27I'm now not very impressed with Thea Hale, but, you know,
02:30Booker T tells me every Tuesday on NXT that Hale has been,
02:34and I don't like to use this term, but it's what he said,
02:37she has been misguided during her run in NXT.
02:42NQCC, Chase University, Joe Hendry.
02:46Do you agree with Booker's assessment?
02:48To an extent, but isn't that part of the maturation of anybody's career?
02:52That's fair.
02:52You make some wrong turns, you make some mistakes,
02:54you learn from those humps in the road, and you become better, right?
02:57I mean, it's very fair, and you think about Thea Hale,
02:59someone who has competed for the NXT Women's Championship,
03:02someone who now, at this level, competes against Ivy now.
03:05We talk about being the end of the year, looking to make a banner.
03:08What do you mean?
03:09Okay, Thea.
03:11That's a New Year's dance.
03:13What do you know about Hale?
03:14I don't know much about it, I'll give you that,
03:16but could this be a launching point for Thea
03:18with a victory over someone like Ivy Nile?
03:19Oh, without question.
03:20If you're Thea Hale, you've gone through such an adjustment
03:23from your days in Chase U, being taken more seriously,
03:27tweaking your style a little bit,
03:28and this is just part of that road.
03:30Pick up a win against Ivy Nile,
03:31now you're raising some eyebrows in the women's division,
03:34whether it's Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown,
03:36as well as NXT.
03:37Able to roll through, almost a count there by the official.
03:40Nice tilt-a-whirl arm drag by Thea Hale,
03:43and recently Hale was under the bright lights in New York City
03:46at Cold Rush several weeks ago.
03:48How does an experience like that, though,
03:50being in the theater of Madison Square Garden,
03:52motivate someone?
03:53He described it to me as surreal,
03:55a moment she will never forget for the rest of her life.
03:58Things starting to slow down in this matchup,
04:00I think Ivy Nile is feeling that momentum start to slip away
04:03as charging right back in is Thea Hale.
04:05And you've got to think Thea has to look to someone like Maxine Dupree
04:09and just know in her heart that hard work will pay off.
04:13I'll tell you, Maxine's win of the Women's Intercontinental Championship
04:15gets so much for every single women's locker room.
04:19It gave hope to a lot of superstars.
04:21They felt like, yeah, I'll never be in that position
04:23to actually contend for a championship.
04:26Well, the same can be said for someone like Ivy Nile.
04:29Take another look.
04:30First, you see the athleticism,
04:31and bam, that board is getting slammed shut by Ivy Nile.
04:36And I've talked about the year Ivy Nile has had,
04:38the opportunity she has had.
04:40Have you seen the great in-ring from Ivy Nile?
04:43I think so.
04:44It starts with the appearance,
04:45as silly as that may sound.
04:46But if you look at yourself
04:47and you see a different competitor,
04:49that translates to your style inside the ring.
04:52You can hear the WWE Universe here.
04:55Look at the smile on Ivy's face.
04:56She enjoys it.
04:57She enjoys the jeers.
04:58Face first goes Thea,
05:00bouncing off that top turnbuckle,
05:02and Ivy, who used to train in the Performance Center,
05:05down in Orlando with Thea,
05:07called her an annoying gnat that just won't go away.
05:10And you know that has to fuel Thea Hale,
05:12but right now for Thea,
05:13she's got to get back into the matchup,
05:15off the suplex, into the cover,
05:16and another kick out.
05:17The thing about,
05:18there's pressure on Ivy Nile as well.
05:20Remember when Chad Gable
05:21went off into the sunset for a little bit
05:23and told Ivy Nile,
05:24listen, you're in charge now.
05:25You've got to run the show.
05:27That's still an internal motivation for Ivy Nile.
05:29You've actually seen that a little bit, Byron.
05:31It's a great point.
05:33Great point that you bring up
05:34because Ivy really, at that juncture,
05:36I think maybe that's when she started
05:38to change her perception
05:39about how she viewed things.
05:40Let's not forget,
05:41she was contending for championships.
05:43She was in championship conversation.
05:46And I think that was really the jumping point.
05:48For every great superstar
05:49that's done amazing things in our industry,
05:51they can always pinpoint one moment
05:53whether it was a grand...
05:54Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
05:55Up, over, shoulders, down,
05:56out of the corner looking for the upset.
05:59It could have been a win.
06:00It could have been a pep talk.
06:01There's only that pivot change.
06:02Ouch.
06:04Derek Sanders checking on Thea Ivy,
06:07seeing her opportunity into the cover.
06:10And another kick out,
06:11and Ivy might have just taken
06:11a little extra second,
06:13but you saw the striking ability
06:14right there from Ivy Nile.
06:15How impressed are you
06:16with just the natural strength of Nile?
06:20Ivy's always had the tools.
06:21There's no question about that.
06:23There's no argument to be made there.
06:24Ivy Nile has always brought
06:26something extremely unique
06:27inside the ring,
06:28but as we always say,
06:29how do you put it all together?
06:31How do you fill that toolbox
06:32to create a successfully sustained career?
06:36Let's go Thea Chance ringing out.
06:39Hale trying to rally
06:40here in this matchup.
06:42And poof,
06:43that's one way to create
06:44a little separation, Byron,
06:45trying to get back into this matchup.
06:48Yeah, Hale's got to dig deep now,
06:49firing up a couple shots.
06:51Big forearm under the jaw,
06:52firing back with his second one.
06:53Ivy Nile now,
06:54a little bit rocked.
06:55Now with the reverse.
06:57Thea Hale holding on.
06:58Big kick right to the chest.
07:00Rocked herself backwards,
07:01charges in.
07:02And now,
07:03oh,
07:03two knees right to the elbow.
07:05Trying to hyper-extend.
07:07Could be setting up
07:07for that Camorra lock
07:09that we've seen Thea use on NXT
07:11time and time again.
07:12Certainly rallying right now.
07:15You can feel Thea Hale's
07:16confidence growing by the second.
07:18This is the pace
07:20at which she thrives.
07:22And that's a great point
07:23you bring up
07:23because it is the pace
07:24that she thrives.
07:25Full throttle.
07:27Boom!
07:28Explode her out of the corner.
07:29Right back up.
07:30Big kick right to the face.
07:32Into the cover.
07:33Both shoulders down.
07:35I think we need to be
07:36on upset alert, Vic.
07:37So close to that upset
07:39and I'm glad we agree on that
07:40because this would be
07:41an upset
07:42for Thea Hale
07:44who just got countered.
07:45Almost like a dragon sleeper
07:46right now.
07:47I thought that's what exactly
07:47Ivan I was looking for.
07:49Transitioning right back in.
07:50Looking for a suplex.
07:51Inside cradle.
07:51Inside cradle.
07:52Kick out.
07:54Angela momentum
07:55swinging back and forth.
07:57Oh, no.
07:58Genoku driver.
07:59Will it be enough?
08:01And another near fall.
08:03What a matchup
08:04between these two women
08:06here on Main Event.
08:07I love what we just saw there.
08:08A moment of shock there
08:09for Thea Hale
08:10and kind of smacking her head,
08:11smacking her temple
08:12going, stay in the game.
08:14Refocused.
08:15High cross body.
08:16Oh, wow.
08:17Got caught.
08:18That was like a mini
08:18power slam almost.
08:20Great display of strength
08:21by Ivy Nile.
08:22Nice adjustment
08:23at the last second.
08:25And strength on display
08:26one more time.
08:29Power personified
08:30as Nile victorious.
08:34Here is your winner.
08:36Ivy Nile.
08:37Ivy Nile.
