After a 12-year, on-and-off relationship, high school sweethearts Kayla Sentell and Trenton Miller called things off for good in February 2024. Eight months later in October 2024, Sentell "missed" her longtime love and "wanted to feel connected to him in any way possible," but knew he was off of social media just like her. So, she snooped on his Spotify page.

00:00I knew it was about me, and everyone, my sister specifically, was like, this is a stretch.
00:06And I know him, and I know us, and I was like, I know this is about me.
00:11By the power of us in the state of Nevada, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife, and sir, you may seal it with a big kiss.
00:20So we met when we were kids, so we've known each other for a very long time.
00:25We could never really get the timing right. You know, as we got a little bit older, we kind of had a difficult conversation eventually that, you know, maybe we need to take a break, go our separate ways.
00:37We were both heartbroken about it, but it seemed like the best thing to do at the time.
00:42So shortly after that, I made a playlist, a sad boy playlist, kind of about the whole us being apart.
00:50The title was Alaska. It had a capitalized K, and that was really just, you know, for me, I kind of hoped that maybe she would see it, but I didn't know if she would.
01:00Neither of us are big social media people, and so we had not been talking for over a year, and I missed him and wanted to know what was going on in his life.
01:10So I looked him up on Spotify, and you can imagine the, like, surprise, shock when I saw that playlist, the Alaska with a K for Kayla, and I knew it was about me.
01:22So I made a playlist. I called it This Is About You, capital T, for This Is About You.
01:29I put You're Still The One by Teddy Swims, because I knew he loved Teddy Swims.
01:34So I was, like, trying to make it obvious to him that, like, this is obviously about you.
01:39And then I ended it with a call to action, which I thought was wise.
01:43So my last three songs were If You See This by After the Apocalypse, Call Me by Shinedown, and I Want to Be Yours by The Arctic Monkeys.
01:53I found myself also looking her up on Spotify a short time after that, and I see this playlist, and I have the exact same emotions.
02:02Very exciting, very exciting. Immediately kind of knew it was about me, so I decided to respond the same way.
02:08I added three songs to my playlist.
02:11If You See This, Speak Now, and then I Want You Back by The Jackson Five.
02:16And she called me the next day, and here we are.
02:21Here we are.
02:21Here we are.
02:22Here we are.
