00:00And your body is there and it's, you know, going through some pretty arduous tests, 50 kilos forced through the neck on a corner, for example.
00:11What does that actually do to a driver's body?
00:13And what can people who aren't involved in racing, ordinary people like me, perhaps learn from the recovery routine of a driver?
00:21Sure. Yeah. I mean, you're right in saying that the forces that are exerted upon those drivers are absolutely huge.
00:30I think it's important to understand that physically they go through a lot more than you might realize just sat still.
00:38And even slight drops in hydration can cause a drop in mental acuity in a significant way.
00:46So what the guys are doing in my role in Formula One, for example, they're monitoring and helping to optimize these different facets of health and fitness.
00:58So that there isn't a drop in any of the kind of any of those outlets of performance.
01:06So, like I said, with the hydration and mental acuity, it just takes one, you know, one moment of lapsed concentration and it could be a crash or it could be a few seconds back.
01:20And therefore losing, you know, a position in the race.
