The 46th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana brings together filmmakers, critics, and film lovers from across the region to celebrate cultural diversity and new proposals in Latin American cinema. teleSUR

00:00In Cuba, the 46th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema began in Havana

00:06and will take place in all cinemas of the capital from Thursday 4th until the 14th of December.

00:12This Thursday, the presidents and members of the juries that will decide which film will win the Quartal Awards

00:19were announced.

00:20The 46th festival will feature a selection of 222 works from 42 countries,

00:27including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and also Colombia.

00:32This year, Mexico is the guest of honor and will receive the Quartal Honor Award

00:37for the 80th anniversary of the Mexican studio Churibusco.

00:41A section dedicated to the cinema of the British countries,

00:45an alliance that Cuba recently joined, is also expected to be presented.
