Pakistan will witness the last supermoon of 2025 tonight and tomorrow night, according to Radio Pakistan and Suparco. This spectacular Cold Moon appears up to 14% larger and nearly 30% brighter than a normal full moon as it comes closest to Earth in its orbit.
This is the third consecutive supermoon of the year, following the October 7 and November 5 events — the latter known as the Beaver Supermoon, which was the biggest and brightest of 2025.
Suparco has encouraged astronomy lovers, students, and families across Pakistan to observe this rare celestial event with the naked eye, as no telescope or special equipment is required — just clear skies.
The Cold Moon is named for being the full moon closest to the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
