Doctor who sold Matthew Perry ketamine prior to his overdose sentenced to 30 months in prison Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who pleaded guilty to selling ketamine to Friends star Matthew Perry, will spend the next two and a half years in prison for his actions. The sentencing took place on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles, more than two years after Perry's death in October of 2023. While Plasencia did not directly provide Perry with the drug that led to his untimely death, during the sentencing LA County Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett spoke directly to the doctor, saying 'You and others helped Mr. Perry on the road to such an ending by continuing to feed his ketamine addiction.' In addition to time spent in prison, Dr. Plasencia will also serve two years on probation. He passed away on Wednesday in Nashville, according to a statement by Pat Mitchell Worley, president and CEO of the Soulsville Foundation. While an official cause of death is currently unknown, Cropper had reportedly been spending time at a rehabilitation facility in Nashville after a recent fall.
