Transcript
00:00Oh, congratulations on this.
00:02You said this is the hardest character you've ever played.
00:04Why is that?
00:06I mean, I wouldn't say this is the hardest character I've played.
00:09I would say there's a lot tougher ways to go to work.
00:13This is the most fun character I've ever played, by far.
00:17Nothing about this was hard.
00:19This was just a joy, you know?
00:22And everybody that I got to make this with was, they're just so talented.
00:27There's nothing better than squaring off against another actor
00:30and being in awe of what they're bringing to the table
00:32and what the writer's room is bringing and how the crew is showing up.
00:35And it's just, it's a dream.
00:38And nothing about this was tough.
00:40It was all fun.
00:42Did you take advantage of these prosthetics and just walk around Atlanta in disguise?
00:46I would say that this is probably the first couple weeks where I'm not working,
00:50and it's the first time I've kind of exposed my face to real air.
00:54So I think after these last couple weeks, I think I will call Kevin and Alexi
00:59my makeup and prosthetics people and just see if I can bar Chad for a little bit.
01:02Yeah, amazing.
01:03Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly.
01:06And you said you had to be sober this whole time
01:08because the alcohol was, like, messing with the makeup, right?
01:11Yeah.
01:11How did you, like, figure that out?
01:13Did I figure out sobriety?
01:14How did you figure out that, like, that was becoming a problem?
01:17Do I have a real problem?
01:18Everyone's like, how did you figure that out?
01:19I'm like, just woke up and chose peace?
01:24I, you know, the hard part is when you're, it's like during football season,
01:30which you're always in sports bars,
01:31so it's a little hard to not have a drink when you're in a sports bar.
01:33But at the end of the day, you know, most of the time when I'm shooting,
01:37I tend to buckle down and focus anyway, so it's not a crazy stretch.
01:41But I guess to do it around sports bars is just a little harder.
01:45Especially this cast is really fun.
01:46And how much are you kind of looking to create your own thing
01:51versus just, like, be an actor and sign on to stuff?
01:53Like, what kind of, is that balance looking like for you right now?
01:55I don't think there's, it's not, like, really a one-size-fits-all.
01:57It's sort of just dependent.
01:59This is one of those things where Michael Waldron and I came up with a really fun idea
02:03that was inspired by this amazing thing that Eli Manning created.
02:07And we had a fun way in.
02:10And so, step by step, you start writing it.
02:12And you put together a writer's room and put together a cast.
02:15And all of a sudden, you end up in the Rose Bowl.
02:17And I'm just really proud of what we made.
02:19I think this show's going to blow people away.
02:21It's really fun.
02:22And I assume you hope that there's more in the future?
02:26I hope so.
02:27That's a message for the people.
02:29If you love it, shout from the rooftops.
02:31You tell our friends at Hulu.
02:33There you go.
02:34Thank you so much.
02:34All right, thank you.
