00:00First at 5, wild new dash cam video here showing a Tesla crashing head-on into a dump truck,
00:05causing it to slam into a brick wall. Yeah, this was something else. A crash shut down
00:11Cactus for hours yesterday, and a senior living home had to be evacuated when the truck crashed
00:15right into their backyard. Kenzie Beach joins us now from the crash site with the latest. They've
00:21been pretty good about letting you on that area. Yeah, we've been able to kind of get full access
00:28to this today, even when before they put up this temporary fencing. I mean, it's a massive gaping
00:34hole that's left here, but I'm kind of standing exactly where that massive dump truck finally came
00:39to a stop and just take a look at how deep the tire marks are into this gravel and all of the
00:45destruction that it left behind in this backyard. As you're about to see that video again, it's a
00:50miracle that nobody died. I thought it was a bomb, literally, because it was that loud. I mean, I
00:57heard accidents happens here in the back, but not that loud. Annette Giorgio saw the aftermath as the
01:03backyard of the senior living home she manages was destroyed Tuesday, but for the very first time,
01:09she watched how it all unfolded. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Annette says the driver of the dump
01:14truck was shaking as he stepped outside with smoke filling the air, but had one thing on his mind.
01:21I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but it was not my fault. This is the only thing I have to prove. The truck driver
01:25sharing this dash cam footage with Fox 10. It shows the moments the white Tesla crossed over
01:30into oncoming traffic, dodging one car and smashing right into the massive truck head-on.
01:36The truck, trying to avoid oncoming traffic, sideswiped one car before landing in this backyard.
01:42And then after that was boom, boom, boom after. The trail of brakes leads right into where this
01:47cinder block wall once stood, leaving a gaping hole as it was towed away. Now a temporary fence
01:53stands in its place. The driver said he put, he grabbed all the brakes that he could grab.
01:58Knowing the massive truck was filled with over 20 tons of rocks, he used every emergency brake
02:04available. I was afraid that's going to get on fire, so immediately I sent my employee to go and get
02:11the patient that was in this room away and move all the patients in front of the house. The home filled
02:16with 10 patients was evacuated as the crash came within feet of some patients' bedrooms. Multiple cars
02:22totaled. The wall, waterline, and backyard destroyed. Both drivers were taken to the hospital
02:28with only minor injuries. All these things can be fixable. Lives are the most important thing,
02:33and that's what we're thankful for.
02:37Now witnesses believe that that white Tesla in the video was on autopilot at the time of the crash.
02:43Now we've asked the Scottsdale Police Department about that. They can't confirm it at this time
02:47as it's still an ongoing investigation. They do tell us that impairment has been ruled out for the
02:53driver of the Tesla, and that driver also received two minor traffic violations. But what's left here,
02:59a ton of destruction. But the manager here just pointing out it really is a miracle that both
03:05drivers and everyone in oncoming traffic was not harmed as well. Reporting live in Scottsdale,
03:11Kenzie Beach, Fox 10 News. Yeah, Kenzie, thank you.
