00:03The WIRE family teases a new faction. Tyson Fury teases facing Drew McIntyre in Cardiff this year.
00:09Hello, welcome to the Solo Sunday News here at What Calls Your Wrestling with
00:12myself, Andrew Pollard. I hope you're doing well on this fine, fine, brisk and mildly sunny Sunday.
00:18This is very weather specific for North Wales. Yeah, be sure to like, subscribe, comment,
00:23all that good stuff. As mentioned, before we get into the wrestling news,
00:25I just hope you're having a really cool Sunday. Whatever you've got planned for your Sunday,
00:28I hope it goes well. Whatever you've been up to so far, I hope it's been cool.
00:32Whether you've got loads of things planned or nothing planned, just have an awesome Sunday.
00:36And one person who will be having an awesome Sunday is The Walking Weapon, Josh Alexander,
00:41your new Impact Wrestling World Champion, two time world champion.
00:46Last night at Rebellion, The Walking Weapon defeated Moose. I think it's 180.
00:51I did write this down this morning. I should have had this with me.
00:53I'm sure it was 182 days was Moose's reign.
00:55Of course, Moose defeated Josh Alexander back at Bound for Glory last year in proper scumbag fashion,
01:03because Moose is a fantastic heel, cashing in his Call Your Shot opportunity,
01:08which he won earlier that night. That was at Bound for Glory after Alexander defeated Christian Cage
01:13to win the Impact World Championship, the big one. And then that's when Moose came in,
01:17as Alexander was celebrating with his wife and young son and was a scumbag and cashed in and took the title.
01:23And now Josh Alexander has that back. He had his wife and child with him in attendance.
01:28Little Weapon walked him down to the ring in full gear.
01:30The headgear, awesome to see. Just a really cool moment.
01:34And then, yeah, Josh would go and put Moose away with a C4 spike to get the one, two, three,
01:39and become a two time Impact Wrestling World Champion.
01:42And it's just, it's, I love watching Josh Alexander. It's just, the dude is so talented.
01:48If you've not seen any of his matches, go out of your way just to watch as much as you can.
01:53The guy is so talented and as is Moose, as is so much an Impact. There was, as mentioned in the intro
01:59there, there were two further title changes. You have Taya Valkyrie as your new Reina de Reina's champion.
02:04And yeah, Taya Valkyrie defeated Dianna Parrazzo to become a, I think it's a four time now Reina de Reina's champion.
02:11The triple A title. And Parrazzo has had this belt for, I think this was 250 days, round about then.
02:17And it was all part of the champ champ speak. Now you can't be the champ champ if you've only got one title.
02:23That's just champ. Again, if you've not been watching Impact lately, Dianna Parrazzo absolutely killing it.
02:28And she has for the last, what, 18 months, two years now. But yeah, her whole shtick was going
02:32around as the Reina de Reina's champion and the Ring of Honor women's champion and proclaiming
02:38herself the champ champ. And that was what her character had so much leaned into in the last
02:42couple of months. So now Dianna's only got that ROH women's title. And that seems like it's destined
02:49to have a unification match with the interim ROH women's title title champion, which would be
02:54Mercedes Martinez. Other match, other title change. I feel like I'm running through this
02:59because there's so much to get through. Ace Austin is again, the Impact X division champion,
03:05defeating the previous champ Trey Miguel and speedball Mike Bailey in a triple threat. Now
03:10me personally, I had speedball down to win this. Again, somebody who's just so much fun to watch.
03:14But yeah, Ace Austin is your new X division champ. And to go through the rest of the results,
03:18I've got them written down here. So I'm going to speed through these. Eddie Edwards defeated Chris
03:21Bay. The influence retained the knockout world tag titles against Inspiration. Steve Macklin defeated
03:26Jay White and Chris Saban. Tom Ohiri Ishii got the win over Jonah in a Hoss, Hoss, Hoss, Hoss match.
03:33Violent by Designs, Eric Young and Joe Doering managed to keep hold of the Impact world tag titles
03:37in an eight team elimination match. And Tasha Steeles is still your Impact knockout women's champion
03:44after retaining against Rosemary. And breathe. And taking a moment to breathe and looking through
03:51social media, if you follow Adam Scherr, the former Braun Strowman, you will see that there was a
03:56Wyatt family reunion of sorts over the weekend just yesterday at the for the love of a wrestling
04:01convention in Liverpool here over in the UK. It was obviously Windham Rotunda was there,
04:06the former Bray Wyatt, Eric Redbeard was there, the former Eric Rowan, and of course,
04:11Adam Scherr, Braun Strowman, Titan Adam Scherr. And it was Scherr who took to social media to
04:16post a picture of the three doing a basically, there's your horsemen that they went with the
04:23down horsemen and proclaim themselves the four horsemen of the apocalypse, war, death, famine,
04:29pestilence. They're the three of those. And a shout out to the late, great Mr. Brodie Lee as well.
04:35Now, some people are seeing this as the tease of a new faction, maybe. I mean, Adam Scherr is key
04:40in the Control Your Narrative faction, faction, group, organization, promotion that was formed
04:46by EC3. Some are saying that maybe this is a new group, the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
04:52Obviously, it's not like there's any, any other four horsemen in professional wrestling on there.
04:56No, no, never been a thing, is it? But yeah, to me, I just see this as just three buddies getting
05:03together. They're all for once in the same space at the same time, grabbing a photo. And yeah,
05:09Adam Scherr's put their response on social media in terms of captioning it. But who knows? Maybe
05:14there's a WWE return and we get the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Maybe it's AW or maybe it's
05:20nothing. And it's just, like I said, just a fun, fun photo. Any boxing fans out there? Any boxing
05:26fans out there? Boxing fans? I'm sure there's a few of you. Big fight last night, Tyson Fury got the TKO
05:32win over Dillian White to retain the WCBC heavyweight title and the ringside magazine title as well.
05:39For those wondering. But after the match, the talk was the, well, Tyson Fury talked about how
05:44basically he wants to retire now, which he talked about in the lead up to the match.
05:48But the other talk that came out was he got to address Drew McIntyre. Now, not just Drew McIntyre,
05:55because the question was put to Tyson, to the Gypsy King of whether he basically, if he's going to appear
06:01for WWE later this year, is he going to be in Cardiff? I will be. I will be. I haven't got a ticket yet,
06:06obviously, but I've paved my hotels, so I'll be there. Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be there with
06:12a can of Rex and lager. I'll be there. There's a niche football song for you. Yeah, well, this has
06:18gone way off track. I'm going to take a swig of coffee to the working man on a Sunday.
06:23Although caffeine maybe is not the whitest idea this morning. But yeah, after the fight, it was put to
06:29Tyson Fury whether or not he'll be in Cardiff this September. And he mentioned that not just
06:33Cardiff, he dropped in SummerSlam. In fact, the exact quote here was, don't rule me out fighting
06:37there as in WWE. You might see me at SummerSlam too. I've got to speak to Vince and the boys,
06:42maybe make this happen. I know Drew McIntyre has been saying a lot of things about me. I'll knock
06:45him out like I did his pal, which would be Braun Strowman. I'd love to be at Cardiff. It looks like
06:51it's on to me. I mean, it's one of those with Drew where you want to do something big with him at
06:57at the Cardiff show, whatever this is going to be titled, the Cardiff show. But I don't think,
07:02to me, I don't think that big is him defeating Roman Reigns. If anything, I think, I think Roman
07:06maybe drops it before then, the unified universal title to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. That's just
07:12my speculative mind going. But I think, I don't think you have Drew in the world title match. I don't
07:16think, because if you do, I don't see him winning. And I don't think you put him in that spot to then
07:21lose on home soil. So you want to do something else big for him and a big cross promotional,
07:27mainstream media grabbing attention, seeking, grabbing Duda against Tyson Fury would definitely
07:33be something big and worthwhile for the Scottish Warrior. So maybe that's it. We get the Scottish
07:37Warrior, Scottish Psychopath versus the Gypsy King in Cardiff. To me, I think that's, I think it's a
07:43given as long as WWE puts up the money for Tyson Fury, because hey, you gotta pay the man. Which
07:49then reminds me of Goodfellas. Bip, you pay me. Bip, you pay me. Words I can't say.

08:47it was all off the cuff that Tony Khan decided, right, yeah, go and give him a contract. We're
08:51signing this dude. So yeah, for me, yeah, it makes perfect sense. Right, I'm going to try and get through
08:57these quick because unfortunately, because of my ramblings, some of the questions had to get cut
09:01last week. Apologies to editor Ryan for making this job hard every Sunday morning. Jonathan Rivera,
09:07do you think AEW is going to do Huck versus Dan Housen on Dynamite sometime? Or are they going to
09:11save it for double or nothing? Hashtag solo Sunday news. I don't know what, double or nothing next month.
09:19So I think you can hold off on it. I just, part of me is thinking though, the way they speed up
09:23on it because this, this Friday's rampage in case that nobody saw it or you missed it.
09:28Um, Dan Housen sabotaged Huck's crisps, his chips, if you're in the States. Uh, and Huck spoke for the
09:34first time, basically said that Dan Housen has his attention gripped him up against the wall.
09:38So you're already at that point. Where'd you go from there? I mean, is this something you want to drag
09:42out for weeks and weeks and months and months, or I mean, realistically, you could do this match
09:47on Wednesday. You could do this match on Friday. So I, yeah, I, I don't know that one.
09:53Frammed card. Uh, we're all expecting a good show, but I think Huck and Dan Housen,
09:58I mean, the appeal's there clearly for that. It's just, is there room for that on double or nothing?
10:03And I, to me, I don't think you want to put it on like the, the buying show. I think it's,
10:07it's a match that's a bit better than that. Um, so maybe it is on a, on a Dynamite or a,

10:23I stopped watching WWE last year. I'm becoming very frustrated by the way they treat their talent.
10:27Besides AEW, what other wrestling companies should I check out? Hey, Impact Wrestling, dude. It's,
10:32yeah, I've waxed lyrical about lots of it. There's just so many people there who are killing it.
10:36The promotion itself has been knocking it out of the park for the most part for the last,
10:40easily the last year. So I, I would absolutely say Impact Wrestling. Uh, the NWA, I, I still watch
10:45it every week. It seems to have, I don't know, with the NWA, it just seems to have lost a,
10:51I think that the pandemic really hurt it. Um, it's, it's, it's getting there. It's getting
10:55back. Matt Cardona is the world champion there at the moment. And he, he's been doing great. Um,
11:00so I, I, yeah, I, I'd say to check out the NWA as well, but yeah, first and foremost,
11:05Impact Wrestling. Absolutely. Um, El's got in touch. Do you think wrestling will benefit from more
11:12wholesome moments? See, this, this is, I like this. I like it that people, people know what I'm about.

11:21ring work last night and less excess bleeding? Just asking you so you can waffle a bit more about
11:26Josh Alexander. And I appreciate that, Al. I really do. Um, yeah, I, I'm all for the wholesome moments,
11:32man. Um, I'm all for that. Um, I, I am also for a little bit, you know, the bleeding's firing me as
11:38well. Uh, I like, I like a sprinkling of all of it, but yeah, Josh Alexander, I will waffle about that
11:43man all day. I, I will give editor Ryan nightmares because he'll have to be cutting all of this up,
11:48uh, to trim back the video. But yeah, uh, that moment last night was really cool seeing that
11:52little weapon. In fact, there was a really cool video doing around, I try to think if it was this
11:56year or last year, uh, that Josh Alexander himself, or it might be his wife, Jay, put it out. One of
12:00those put out that it was a little weapon and the walking weapon having like a play fight, um,
12:05at home and little weapon went for the, uh, the dick kick. It's just like, what?
12:10Well, and flawed his old man, which was great. And I'm not sure if I can say that. If not low blow,
12:14we'll, we'll go with low blow. If I can't say that word. Um, brilliant. Uh, yeah. Wholesome
